Problem with Contacts for 6500 slide
I recently bought a Nokia 6500 slide and i`m very pleased, except one thing.
I used to have some other phones, and all my contacts were on the memory of that phone (not on the SIM).
For me to have my contacts on the 6500 slide, i had to move all those contacts on the sim, then insert the sim into the 6500 slide and move them again from there to the phone memory (i hate having my contacts on the sim couse i can't add any aditional info).
Ok, so.. after i moved all my contacts to the phone memory, i saw that from about 200 contacts, i only have about 20. At first i thought "ok, there was a problem with the moving process and i lost them all..." I was just about getting over this, when I realized that those numbers that I lost are still in there, but i can't see them.
If I manualy enter a number of a contact that don't show in my Contacts List, when it dials, the number appears on the screen. Same if that contact calls me. I can't see them in the Contact List tho.
It's like there are hidden or something..
I tried changing the settings so that i can see only the contacts in the SIM (in which case, none apear), only in the phone (only those 20 or so appear) or showing both (still, only 20 or so appear).
The contacts are not in the SIM couse i tried putting the sim back in the old phone, and it's empty.
They must be somewhere in the phone. Is there a hidden setting that i can find, that allows me to see those contacts that I thought I lost? It's very annoying to wait till someone calls me so I can add his number again in the phonebook
To be more specific, let me give an example.
Let's say I had contact "John" with the number "12345678". Now I can't see it anymore.
If i dial 12345678 and then hit "Call", it apears like "Calling John"
If John calls me, it apears like "John" on the screen.
If i try to add John to the phone book I get a message like "A name is already entered for that number"
It's like... all the contacts are already there, but I can't see them

Hello and welcome to the forums;
First, you mention the error references a SIM card, however your profile says you have a Sprint device. A small problem there, and I would like to clear up any confusion as which device you have: a Sprint CDMA device, or one with a SIM card.
Second, have you tried restarting your device? Hold down the power button and move the ringer mute switch next to it back and forth 3 times, then wait 4-5 seconds for the device to restart by itself.
Try this, and let us know what happens.

I updated Nokia E-mail to ver 3.9 on E72. Now I am facing a problem with mail for exchange. I have configured gmail on mail for exchange. I recieve a warning that "unable to sync contact administrator if problem persist". It started to pop up just after the update was over and is very frustrating. Even previously i used to recieve mails instantly but now it generally takes half an hour for me to recieve them. I deleted and created mail for exchange several times but to no avail.
Also i am not able to automatically recieve mails other emails which i have configured. every time I have to manually download them everytime.
Can anybody suggest a way out.

I have had problems with Viber for a while now and had given up! But now a few contacts only have viber and not other free messaging apps so I’m trying to use it again but still having problems.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times and still have not received an access code. My main problem though is the messaging it would work fine and then I wouldn’t be able to send any messages and I would receive a message go into the app and the message would not appear.
The other day I reinstalled it whilst at work and worked perfectly could send and receive messages easily. Then when I went home the problem stated again. I then uninstalled and reinstalled again and it worked perfectly, but now back at work I’m having the issues again! I can’t keep uninstalling and reinstalling is there a way this can be fixed?!
If anyone is able to help me out it would be much appreciated! ThanksYou activated "Find My Mac," which disables the built-in Guest account and adds a Safari-only "Guest User" pseudo-account. To get the Guest account back, you would have to disable FMM.

I'm having problems with contacts on my iPad. One of my contacts names shows up when I choose any one of 36 contacts. the email goes to the correct email address that I've chosen but the incorrect name shows up in the To: area of the email. Has anyone else experienced this...if so I hope there is a fix

It sounds like no matter what contact you put into the 'To' field, a different name appears, but the email makes it to the intended recipient. I would recommend a few things here. First, close all the open apps on the device:
iOS: Force an app to close

Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the phone:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

Started a similar string before. When I select a recipient in Messages on my Macbook Pro the name shows up in red and says the recipient is no longer registered on iMessage. I know that they are registered. Is there a problem with Contacts possibly. The previous help has been appreciated but the problem persists.

Try iMessaging your own iPhone and see if your account is actually logged in.
It can appear "enabled" and On line but sometimes it is not.
Also try sending from your iPhone (number) to your Apple ID and see if it gets to the Mac.
If it does not use the Sign Out button.
Then shut down the Mac
On restart add back the Apple ID to the iMessages account settings.
I also just checked My wife's iPhone as she popped up red.
It turned out her iPhone did not have Messages On.

I did see mention of using Google Public DNS while I was searching the forums prior to posting, but to be honest didn't think it was a DNS-related problem.
However, to rule it out I've set the prefered DNS servers on my router to Google's, but FaceTime still disconnects after 4-5 seconds when calling between me and my brother-in-law. It doesn't matter who initiates the call.
As a test, before I made the changes to my router, I logged into FaceTime as him on my MBP and tried calling myself on my iMac, and that was successful.
The same test between the two iMacs when they were here was unsuccessful, so now I'm definitely thinking it's something on the '08 iMac.

Problem with Twitter for Mac notifications

I have a strange problem with Twitter for Mac. On both my home and office Macs. New posts appear in app window but there aren't any notifications even though notifications are set in preferences to show in both dock and menubar. Perhaps anyone noticed similar strange behaviour? I didn't find anything similar on Twitter forums.

go to Terminal and post this:
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchSe rvices.framework/support/lsregister -kill -seed
if it doesn't have that specific directory try this:
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchSe rvices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -seed
once the scanning is done (can be short or long, depends on how heavy your system is) RESTART the computer.
when you're back, go to Apple>system preferences>extensions.... guess who's there.

I don't have internet access even when the 3G symbol appears, so probably my iphone keeps trying to connect to the network and has its battery drained! Have you been having the same issue?

Stacked 100% bar chart - Problem with datatips for zero value data points
I have a stacked 100% bar chart that shows datatips in Flex 4. However, I don't want it to show datatips for
data points with zero values. Flex 4 shows the datatip for a zero value data point on the left side of a bar if the data point is not the first in the series.
Here's the code that illustrates this problem. Of particular concern is the July bar. Because of the zero value data point problem, it's not possible to see the datatip for "aaa".
Any ideas on how we can hide/remove the datatips for zero value data points ? Thanks.

For starters, make sure to Check for Updates on any of the Help menus, and make sure the product has all the latest patches. MS did come out with a patch addressing the display issues on Retina Macs. Latest patchlevel is 14.3.2.

We have been having a problem with newsletters for a client.
The newsletter works fine except if we add a button and/or link to the top zone on that newsletter it blows up ONLY ON iPhones!

We are facing problems when we run an Rpclean for this Development
Repository, this process aborts with a fatal error message, the log
screen for this process issues the following messages
the deletion objects is made,
the repository compress is made,
the rebuild of the index is made,
but then when the process is creating back the repository it displays
"fatal error" and issues a message that it cannot truncate the .btx
file.
the command executed is :
rpclean -n Desarrollo -fr :/var/forte/repodesa -t /var/jaeb
Any experience on this regard?. If any, would be highly appreciated.

How big is your repsitory. Because if you are running on Digital Unix
you will have problems, when the repository is bigger then 1 gigabyte!
During the rpclean process a 'copy' is build and the unix system cannot
handle more than 2 gigabyte. I expect the maximum size of the repository
will be different for each operating system, but this might be your
problem!

Problem with VMD_EI_API for contacts
Hi,
I have problem with creation of vendor. I'me using the class VMD_EI_API with success for general data, company, purchasing, bankdata but I'm not able to create vendor's contacts.
I have no error message but vendor's contacts are not created. I have implemented the contact segment (name, last name,function, department (knvk)). Can you please give me an example if you have succeeded.

Problem with the FOR statement.....again!

Well I'm still trying to do a car slideshow using external
files and can't seem to see the end. The current movie is here:

I also attach the code. My problem is I had originally set up
an animation with 2 pictures sliding in with some text, and then
wait 4 seconds before sliding out, and then next pictures and text
would slide in and so on, using a setInterval.
The problem is the FOR loop seems to skip the setInterval and
the function "wait", so it just loops quickly and jumps to last
picture, so on the example above, it just slides the last picture
(i=9) and that's it!
Can you not include another function within a FOR statement.
Or is there a way to tell the FOR loop to wait until all motion is
finished?

they do.
The entire for loop will execute (if possible, and it doesn't
enter some kind of continuous infinite loop) completely before each
time the frame is rendered.
If you want to spread things out over time you need to use
the setInterval -- but not inside a for loop! If you do that you
immediately set however many intervals as your loop has. In this
case you will also assign the ids for those intervals to the same
variable, effectively overwriting the value so you will never be
able to clear most of those intervals.
So you need to rethink you whole structure. Set up some kind
of counter and limit like this:
var slidesToShow:Number=10;
var curSlide:Number=0;
Then have your setInterval increment the curSlide each time
it is called and check to see if it has shown all of them. That is
where your "loop" comes in.
As for the other part of your question -- yes you actually
have two different issues going on -- again you cannot make a for
loop wait for anything. So no there is no way to pause it while you
wait for your tween to end. But you can be notified when a tween
ends.
Check out the documentation about the tween class in the help
files. There you will find the onMotionFinished event. So you can
set up one of those to start whatever needs to be started when the
tween has finished.
You should also use the MovieClipLoader class to load your
images, because you have no idea how long it will take to load
them. Using that class you get a nice event (onLoadInit) that tells
you when the asset is ready to be used.
Finally I'm thinking you might want to use setTimeout instead
of setInterval. It only goes once, while setInterval repeats
forever. So I would think your algorithm would be something like
this.
1. load external asset
2. when ready animate in and set onMotionFinished handler
3. when motion is finished start loading next asset and
setTimeout for 4 seconds.
4. when 4 seconds is up or the clip is loaded (which ever
takes longer) go to 2 and repeat.
If this is going to be run locally on a hard drive or CD you
won't have any problem with the length of time it takes to load the
external assets, but if it is over the web it will take time.
