Problem with conversion AVCHD

I have the Sony SR-7 and I convert the AVCHD clips with Log & Transfer (Final Cut Express 4.0.1) but the converted clips are in fast motion (3X or 4X about): A clip about 10 sec is converted in a 3 second clip approximately. And the same thing with the rest of Clips. Also the clips are bad converted (with pixels, interferences...) Anybody have the same problem?
It happens the same when I convert the clips with IMovie instead of FCE.
Maybe I dont have any codec or plugin in the computer? But I have instaled the Apple Intermediate Codec and the Perian Codec is not installed (as it is said in some forums).

RAW Highlights Problem with conversion from Canon 5D

Hello All,
I recently upgraded my camera from a Canon 20D to a Canon 5D. I shoot only RAW and I recently shot a couple of images of a beautiful sunset out West. I was bracketing the exposures all over the place since the light-drk contrasts were really large and the light was changing so fast. The images looked great on the Camera's LCD but, when I ran them through Aperture I got some really nasty artifacts on the conversions around the highlights. Here are examples:

the problem I see is with the nasty transition from yellow to white in the blown highlight. I also don't like the broad areas of flat yellow - the tonality is completely missing. These are the default RAW settings exported to JPGs and the poor image quality of the highlights looks identical on screen between the RAW images in Aperture and these JPGs, so it's not a JPG artifact.
I don't recall having this problem with the 20D - is the 5D conversion more difficult for Aperture? Might I be doing something wrong? Is there a way to fix this? I ran the RAW file through lightroom and it didn't have the same problem. Please help!

I have the same problems when I shot the sun rise and sun set.. It is very nasty transition from yellow to white or white to yellow from the sun. I don't think Aperture can fix that. It was over the exposure with the sun. And yes, it looks great on 2 inches LCD. I think you need to use filter when you shoot the sunset or sunrise to get the perfect lighting. Let me know, if you know the tweak with Aperture.. I will check out lightroom... I have alot of sunet and sunrise photos to correct.. and i checked out this place http://www.all-creatures.org/pics/sunset.html they have the same problems with yellow to white...

So here is how I got it fixed for my Mac OS X 10.9.5 and skype 6.19. I think Windows folks can follow a similar approach.
option 1 - Contact a live support agent via this link -
https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10656/what-is-live-chat-support and have him/her remote login to your machine and fix it.
option 2 - Do-it-yourself
1) Try installing skype ver 6.15 (you need to find the executable over the internet or from skype-support) .. the usual steps to uninstall your current version and re-install the new version.
After installing ver 6.15, make sure in Skype -> Preferences, you don't check the "Always keep skype up to date" option.. or else it will go and install the latest version 6.19.
2) If it still doesn't work,
(i) Go to Finder window -> select 'Go' tab on top -> select 'Go to Folder' -> type '~/Library/Application Support/Skype/'
there you will find a file called "shared.xml". DELETE IT.
(ii) Go to Finder window -> select 'Go' tab on top -> select 'Go to Folder' -> type '/private/var/db'. There may be a file called "config.xml" or something similar. DELETE IT.
3) Even then it doesnt work, go back to Option 1 (contacting skype-support)

[ePub / Indesign 5.5] Problem with conversion to epub

Hi everybody!
I need some help with my job. I was converting Indesign files (ID cs5.5) to epub. So I found a problem with this message:
I verified that the problem is in one of items that it not showed, but the style is equal another all items that is showed, I mean, all the other items with the same style is showed, see:
I work in Mac with OSX 10.6.8.
It's a mystery to me, cause the ohters books don't make this problem.

Well, I probably answer myself.
First, I reset the [Basic Paragraph],
- Set the style that I applied in the text, like "Title chapter" with Based on: basic paragraph with the changes.
- And then, set the TOC style with Based on: basic paragraph too with the changes.
For one book this resolved, for another one it needs create another style Based on: [Basic paragraph], changes that I need, apply and change the table of contents style with whis one and, woks fine.
The reason, I'll still waiting for the reason.

3 problems with conversion to PDF

Hi,
I am using Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional and MS Word 2003.
When converting Word documents to PDF, I have these problems:
1) Bright colours in my Word files (red, pink, yellow) turn much darker and duller in PDF. They look kind of dirty red/pink/yellow. Very unattractive.
2) Large fonts such as 18 (I use Arial) lose red colour in some letters and turn out white (with a red outline), while some letters remain red.
3) Spaces between lines with hyperlinks get shifted in PDF - some remain in place, some just disappear, leaving no space between the lines. Can this be fixed in settings somehow?
I would be so grateful if someone could teach me how to fix these 3 annoying glitches!

There are no Distiller settings that I can see in my Word document. There is the Adobe PDF tab which leads to Acrobat PDFMaker and inside it I tried changing conversion settings to Standard, to Press and to High Quality - and in every case I'm still getting the same dark colours in headlines instead of bright, and shifting, shrinking spaces between lines. As soon as I click on the "Convert to Adobe PDF" button, the spaces between hyperlinks start disappearing and the whole page formatting goes crazy. Very frustrating to see the loss of quality.

Problem with conversion failed

I have two inputDate control, one for start_date, the other for end_date.
Each inputDate has a convertDateTime and a validator that check whether start_date is smaller than end_date.
First, I input the valid date data, all thing is OK.
Then, I input a invalid string such as "a" in end_date and start_date, the error messages displayed.
Then, I input a valid date data in end_date. After the conversion complete, the validation is executing.
When I want to get the start_date value, the value is not the "a" but the valid value before.
How can I get the failed data or failed status ? Or skip the validation when one input conversion failed?

I think the problem is a spelling error: you named your structure "structs" and then you refer to it as "struct".
You have to choose one between the two (or a better one if you can find it).

Problem with one AVCHD file using L&T

I just shot a project with a new Sony NX5 and recorded to both the FMU 128 hard drive and a 32 gig SDHC class 10 card. I have a total of 3hours and 20 minutes and about 75 clips. The clips are 1920x1080 60i, again it is AVCHD.
I'm using L&T to transcode to Pro Res LT. Everything imports fine, except clip #15, which is the longest clip at 36 minutes long. FCP quits and I get an error message.
I tried the files from the cards and FMU 128 (they were copied to my internal 7200rpm hard drive and an external Lacie connected via FW800). All give me a problem on clip 15.
I'm using FCP 7.

and then it keeps going. I thought the above would be the most important. I tried Clip Wrap, and that took forever!! It broke this problem child clip into 4 segments (3 of them were about 11 minutes and the 4th was a minute or so). The first clip played fine and the rest started with a green frame and were all "strobe effect" when the played. I did Clipwrap again and did "Join Selected Clips" and that seemed to work. It made the 4 clips one video and it plays perfectly.
So I got the clip to work using Clipwrap, but it wont' work in FCP L&T.

Problems with conversion

It I have to create a pdf from word 2013 (it's a normal a5 book) and i'm on win 7, acrobat xi; when I print it as pdf, the footnotes (which are set by default as beginning from 1 at each new page) in some pages become continous footnotes (they begin from 2, 3, 4 and s on until they become 35, 36 and so on: thereafter, they begin again from 1 from another chapter). What is wrong? Thanks to whom who will reply.

I understood what was the problem, perhaps: I unchecked to option to treat the notes as links, then exported "from the ribbon" (do you mean the "acrobat" writing after "revision" and "visualize" in the comand upper bar?). Perhaps word or acrobat either gave problems in converting this way and messed with the kind of footnotes. Maybe you may add this to the knowledge base and/or adjust acrobat. Though, the problem persists: if I export from the ribbon, it gives me the correct footnotes, but doesn't embeds the fonts (I upload the pdf to my POD producer and the wizard says that most fonts aren't embedded)! But when I print the docx instead, the fonts are embedded but the notes are wasted! WTF! I'm going crazy with this!

Problem with conversations view in messages

After the Belle update, all my sms-messages were deleted. So i got them back by restoring them from the back up i made before updating. Now they are not displayed in the right order, by date. Instead, first i get the mms messages, then when I scroll up I get all my sent messages to that contact, en even more up all the received messages. So it's not a conversation anymore. Within the "sent" and "received" messages groups they are ordered by date and time. How can i fix this so i can see the actual conversation again, with alternating sent and received messages? The mms messages also have the time and date from restoring from the back up, the regular sms-messages still have the original time and date correctly.
I hope someone can help me to fix this. It's really annoying.

I have the same issue after updated to Belle. Have to manually copy each "sent" and "inbox" per contact from Nokia Suite back to phone one by one according to the time. Very annoying since the backup and restore during upgrading from Anna to Belle did not work properly. I don't think Nokia did not acknowledge this issue and Nokia will solve this issue for Symbian phone since this had happened in Anna update last time and is now happening again in this Belle update. Forfunately there is Nokia Suite in the host PC that can manually do the task but consume users' time.

Problems with conversion and import to FCP

I have some files in m2ts format and convert them to Quicktime using iSkysoft video converter.
When I import to FCP and render where there is a lot of action I get a wavy pattern all over the image (maybe related to interlace) is there a filter to fix this or another conversion program?

I have tried with MPEG Streamclip that I usually use as well but it will not take the files. I am just trying out iSkysoft for this and it appears to be a descent program.
I have tried Xvid encoding and H.264 (only two options available), I tried to convert to .DV format as well but with same result.
It appears that the material becomes interlaced twice on top of eachother

N8 problem with Conversations

Hi all,
my N8 start having a really annoying problem lately.
When i bough it the conversations were working perfect! when i was gettin a new text and was choosing to read it, it was opening in the conversations.
Now when i choose to read it and click on it, it opens the conversations but the msg is blank! When i click on the blank msg, and opens as a normal text, then i can read it!
Any suggestions?

i"m having the same problem although my N8 is still brand new. i can't delete sms in sent items. it says: general: already in use.
i tried soft reset. but it didn't work.
and i don't have a backup for my messages.
can anyone tells me what to do?!! and is there anyway but hard reset?!!

I am trying to convert from type p decimals 4 to character string value,it is giving error Value can't be interp. as floating-point number or longer than 22 charac.
I am using following code.

If i have the values in w_mean_val-mean_val as positive then it is working.if the values are negative giving error
