Problem with deleting iCloud account

How can I change my iCloud email address when the account that is attached to my iCloud right now does not exist. I tried to delete the account attached to my iCloud on my iPhone but it requires a password. The password I type in does not work because I have changed my Apple ID email address which was not changed on my iCloud. I am having troubles deleting my account and would appreciate your help!!

If you still have access to your old email address, do the following:
Go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the pimary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You should then be able to turn off Find My iPhone with your password. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back and change your primary email address and iCloud ID back to the way it was.  You will then be able to go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current ID and password to reconnect to your iCloud account.
If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to get them to reset the password for it so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account.  You will have to prove your identity to them in order to do so.  You can either contact iTunes support for assistance with this (https://ssl.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html), or contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/).

    I have a problem with my icloud account!
    When i bought my iphone 4 last year i set it up with a icloud account that i do not remeber...or it's been erased!
    Since then i used another mail account and everything was ok until my i updated my iphone with ios 7.2 and when it restarted it asks for the account that i first set it up with.
    I can't seem to find a way around it...it drives me nuts i spent a whole day on this thing and nothing seems to work!

    You have to delete the old account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    I keep getting the following message when opening my email....mac cannot connect to iCloud because of a problem with my iCloud account. 

    I have another kind of message. I am connected perfectly to iCloud but receive this every hour or so : "This Mac cannot connect to iCloud due to a problem with "address mail" of said account.
    But :
    1. I AM connected
    2. When I open i Cloud prefs it asks me to type my iCloud details (email address and password), then it says iCloud is in fac ALREADY open.
    3. When reading troubleshoot doc Carolyne linked to, I read this :
    Close and reopen iCloud preferences before attempting to sign in to iCloud again.
    If that does not resolve the issue, check your email folder and Junk folder for a verification email sent from Apple.
    If there is no verification email in your email folder or Junk folder, click the Resend Verification Email button in iCloud preferences.
    My comments :
    - How can I close iCloud ? Document doesn't say. By clicking the "—" sign in iCloud prefs ???
    - I cannot see any "Verification Email button in iCloud.
    I'm on Yosemite…

    Until and unless you remember the password to your old email address, you will not be able to access the eBooks as those eBooks are only authorized with your old email address only.
    The only workaround or alternative to access your eBooks will be to contact the eBook vendor and ask them to migrate the eBook from your old email to the new one.

    iCloud accounts cannot be deleted. You can sign in with another iCloud account. If you have encountered the activation lock, wherein you will need to eneter the Apple ID and password that was used to first activate the phone, you will need to eneter the correct information.

    my boss have some trouble to create an iCloud account with your PC (bleah... yes a simple pc).
    I've helped him to enable his Apple ID trough Lion Contacts/Email/Address/Calendars Preference Panel. After the correct enable of his Apple Id (not me.com) i've tried to enable @me.com account.
    Successful.... but on my Apple ID not in his. ****!!!!
    Can i remove this account from my Apple ID, or easy delete the [email protected] account?

    If I understand correctly you are unable to use the password reset email that gets sent because you cannot identify the email address that one of the iPads is registered to, and you cannot reset the security questions because the date of birth is being rejected. At this point you may need to reach out to the Account Security team for additional assistance. Keep in mind you will need to verify the account information to receive support. 
    If you forgot the answers to your Apple ID security questions
    If you can't reset your security questions
    If you couldn't send a reset email, don't have a rescue email address, or can't access email at your rescue email address, contact Apple Support. Apple may ask you to generate a temporary support PIN to verify your identity. After you reset your security questions, you might want to update your rescue email address.

    On my MacPro book, my iCloud email address is old. It keeps asking for my password, but I don't have that email account any more. I was able to fix with guidance from apple on both my iPad and iPhone by deleting the old iCloud account and starting new. Any suggestions on how to fix on my laptop?

    In system preferences click on Internet accounts then remove the email/icloud account.

    When you delete the iCloud account from the phone, it only deletes if from the phone, not from iCloud.  Your mom's device(s) will not be effected by this.
    If you're going to sell it, be sure to also turn off iMessage and FaceTime to unregister your number with the servers.  Then either erase all settings and data (in Settings>General>Reset) or restore it as a new device.

  • I have just downloaded OSX Mavericks and am having a lot of problems with my iCloud account. I get a message "this iMac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with (and then it quoted my e-mail address) Does anybody know what the problem could be??

    As mentioned above I have just downloaded OSX Maverick to my iMac. I am now having a lot of problems with iCloud. I get the message that "This iMac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with, and then it goes on to quote my e-mail address. It then says to open iCloud preferences to fix this problem.
    I do this and no matter what I seem to do this message continues to return.
    Can anybody explain how to resolve this problem (please bear in mind that I am noy very computer literate).

  • Problems with 1 icloud account and multiple users.

    We have multiple users all on 1 icloud so we can share apps but also see what people have installed and because IT control the password its upto us what apps get installed. So in that sense this was a good idea. The problem we are having is that the iphone users photos, messages and other things are becoming available on other iphones on this 1 icloud account. So for example one user went on her photos to discover someone elses photos was in their and then also had messages from a contact who only her manager has (also one of the icloud users)
    Is there any settings we could change to keep the 1 icloud acount but make it so peoples photos and messages dont sync.

    Yes, you can turn off photos in icloud. (settings - icloud- photos)
    You can also allow users to use their own apple id's for imessages and facetime. Unlike icloud those can be changed any time, so that does not present security problem. Settings -messages and settings- facetime.
    If you dead set on using same apple id, you can make sure that every user only has their phone number checked in messages, so everyone has to go to settings- messages- send and receive and uncheck apple id.

  • New Macbook Air setup problem with deleting user account

    I recently changed from a MBP to a MBA and upon completing my migration data from old mac to new one I had an extra user account. So I have my admin account and a guest account and a third account that I don't want. Upon trying to delete this account it show "deleting user account and home folder" but it has been doing this for more than an hour therefore it will not let me exit system preferences.     I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "need configuration data ... " However, if both computers are on your network then you should be able to synchronize various files or folders using backup software. However, to start you will need to enable File Sharing on one of the computers.
    For help with this select Mac Help from the Finder's Help menu. Search for "file sharing." You should find several links on how to configure it on your computer. Also see Mac 101- File sharing and Tutorial- File sharing in OS X - MacFixIt.
    Once file sharing is set up you can then try a backup utility to do the synching. Most backup utilities not only do backups but can also be configured to synchronize files and/or folders. Here are some possibilities:

    Do not buy anything with the new Apple ID or it will always be tied to that Apple ID. Try to get the problems with the original Apple ID resolved with help from Apple. If you have been locked out of your account try here for help.

  • Problem with an icloud account on a 2nd ipad

    Hi all
    Going to try to type this so it makes sense...
    My wife purchased 2 ipads over a year ago for our business. They're even engraved!
    One has been working fine and is linked to her main email address (Apple ID) and her icloud account that is linked to that email.
    However, the 2nd ipad has not been used for a long time because it seems to be linked to an icloud account that is different to her primary apple id/icloud account. We cannot remember doing this even though the icloud account uses part of her normal email address in it. None of our passwords are working and when I try to restore as new device, it asks for this unknown icloud account's password as it is linked to it. We tried the email verification route...it sent an email but to where we don't know!!
    We tried the security route too...but when it asks for birthdate, it doesn't take any birthdates we put in. We are stumped by what happened here to say the least. Is there anything else we can try??
