Problem with deleting photos from iPad

I have been unable to remove some photos from my iPad.   I have two albums, 'SAVED Photos" and one titled "Retirement Photos."  I cannot delete any of the photos in the 'Retirement Photos.'  This album was synced from my laptop.  I cannot get the delete function to work when I click on the photos I want to delete.  Any suggestions?

1. Sync your ipad to your laptop again
2. In iTunes go into your iPad folder and deselect that album from being synced from your computer
3.Then click apply.
That should delete that album from your iPad.
hope this helps

  • Help? Problem with deleting photos from I-photo?

I have created some New Event trash folders to drag all my deleted photos from the trash bin as advised. I had thousands of deleted photos to deal with. Now the problem is that the bin looks empty but it still indicates that there are over 7000 photos left in it. I cannot see those items so I cannot drag them out. Should  I start reloading the trash bin (small amounts at a time!!) when there is still an amount in it??? How do I get rid of the remaining items? Should I just go and do a repair or rebuilding now?? Please help! Thanks!

Should I just go and do a repair or rebuilding now?
    Yes.

  • I have a problem with transfering photos from iPad to MacBook Air, how do I go about doing that?

Photos from iPad to MacBook Air, I am currently trying to use my USB cord to transfer photos, but how?

You can only import photos in the camera roll, not synced photos. So I assume that you want to transfer the photos that you shot with the iPad camera. You can use iPhoto or Image Capture on the MBA.
Just connect the iPad to the Mac with the cable and launch either of those two apps. Your iPad should appear under the devices heading in the left sidebar of the app. Click on the iPad name just like you do when you sync with iTunes and the camera roll photos should appear in the window on the right.

  • Unable to delete photos from iPad with Image Capture or PhoneView

I recently downloaded about 50GB of photos to my iPad. They are RAW+JPG. Some of the RAWs are from a new camera that does not have RAW support on the Mac yet.
Using Image Capture I downloaded all the photos to my Mac. They all have the green check-mark next to them indicating they have been downloaded.
After confirming that the images transferred without becoming corrupted, I went back to Image Capture and selected all, then hit the Delete button. I confirmed that I really want to delete them all permanently.
Then a little floating window appears that says "Deleting..." and it stays like that for a long time. Eventually Image Capture simply loses its connection with the Mac and simply leaves this console message:
    5/22/12 10:58:38.494 AM com.apple.launchd.peruser.503: ([0x0-0x91091].com.apple.PTPCamera[9744]) Exited with code: 255
Back on the iPad, I see that some of the JPEG-format photos have been deleted while the RAWs that went with them are still there. Meanwhile for many others, both the RAW & JPEG both still remain.
Any ideas what might cause this? Is it because the Mac doesn't yet have support for the RAW file and therefore doesn't recognize it as an "image" file?

  • I have experienced great difficulty deleting photos from iPad I have followed advice and synced with computer and iTunes and deleted from computer and then synced again but managed to get hundreds more unwanted photos.

I have had great difficulty deleting photos from iPad I have followed advice and connected to computer and iTunes but cannot find anywhere to click on delete I also deleted photos fro computer and synced again and then found hundreds of more photos on iPad which were unwanted at the same time I lost a film I had purchased from iTunes and   The soundtrack of film from iPod

Photos that were synced from your computer you should be able to delete by movin/removing them from where they were synced from and then re-syncing (or de-selecting the whole folder if you want to remove the entire album from the iPad).
Photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view. They should also appear in Windows Explorer on PC where you can delete them, and in iPhoto on a Mac you can delete them after importing.

  • How can I delete photos from iPad but not iCloud?

Before setting up iCloud, my girlfriend downloaded photos from her camera to her iPad.  We now have iCloud set up, but the photos on her iPad remain in the "Photos" album instead of Photo Stream.  I would like to delete the photos from the iPad to free up storage space, and move them to the Macbook.  I'm guessing that I would need to somehow move them to Photo Stream then delete the old album where they were stored on the iPad...  Any ideas?

  • I am having trouble deleting photos from iPad that we're imported from PC  how do I do this to free space on ipad

I am having trouble deleting photos from iPad that we're ported from PC. Already deleted from PC but still showing up on iPad following sync

Tap and hold your finger on the X
You should get a message in some cases that it will delete your stored app data - say OK if you want to proceed
The wiggle mode should stop with a press of the home button - not a hard reset
Reset your phone and see if the behavior changes - there is no data loss - Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

  • Is there a way to select all when deleting photos from iPad?

I am trying to delete about 1000 pictures from my iPad and am trying to find a more efficient way to do so instead of selecting each individual picture.  Is there a way to select all when deleting?

  • Is anyone else having problems with syncing photos  on ipad - seems to be fragmenting the events

Is anyone else having problems with syncing photos  on ipad - seems to be fragmenting the events

Here's the problems I'm having with iPad 2 and iOS 5.1:
Okay ... so, because I had less than a 1 Gig left (as reported by iTunes) on my 64Gig iPad, and the majority of the space was being used by "Photos" ... I decided to not keep my PC photos directory in sync with my iPad (Windows 7). So, in iTunes, I unchecked the option to sync computer photos to the iPad. I got the standard popup warning message that my iPad would not contain those albums after the next sync. I clicked OK and proceeded to sync expecting to have lots of space freed up.
But weird things happened after syncing.
    (1) I still have all my photos on my iPad .... nothing disappeared at all. (And performed multiple syncs to try to force the change ... still nothing has been removed from my iPad.)
    (2) Somehow, I gained 20 Gigs of free space, as reported by both iTunes and my iPad as well.
Anyone know what's going on here?
I do have iMovie and another movie making app, Avid. Both of these contain projects that refer to photos in albums that were supposed to be removed after the sync ... but I can't imagine that would keep them there. Anyone have any ideas?
I also installed the iPad app, iPhoto. I noticed that it build a directory listing and continuously want to update that listing from time to time.
Would any of these things cause the iTunes photo sync changes to be ignored? And, how did I get free space to report back with an additional 19Gig or so, when there's no change at all.
    Unsure what's going on ...

  • Deleting photos from iPad moments

Does deleting photos from iPad "moments" delete them from all devices (like from Photo Stream) or only from the iPad?

It deletes the photos from the Photo Stream so it will also delete it from the Photo Stream on all devices.

  • Can I batch delete photos from iPad and if so how?

Can I batch delete photos from iPad and if so how?

I would add that if you don't want to delete the photos from your computer and want them off your iPad, then (1) create a duplicate folder of the photos to be deleted on your computer (select the folder, then cmd-D), (2) rename the duplicate to something else (thus retaining your computer's photos under a different name), and (3) opening the original folder--the one that was synced to the iPad originally -- and drag its contents to trash. Don't drag the FOLDER to trash---drag its CONTENTS to trash. Now resync this empty folder to your iPad. The photos on the iPad will go away, but you still have them on your computer. I know this is clunky but it works. It sure your be nice to allow you to delete individual photos from a synced folder on the iPad! (and iPhone)
