Problem with "Direct Send Messages" icon on 8350i

The other day I updated the firmware on my 8350i to v4.6.1.128.  I immediately noticed one of the improvements was that Direct Send info from Direct Connect calls weren't filling up my Messages inbox anymore and were instead grouped into one message for each individual contact, instead of one for each time they chirped me.  I also noticed a new blue folder icon on the home screen called "Direct Send Messages," which I figured once clicked on, would take me to my inbox filtered to only display those types of messages - much like the individual icons for each of the multiple email inboxes I have setup (AOL, GMail, etc.).  I also assumed that they would no longer appear in my main Messages app but instead be routed to the new icon much like my MMS messages since I have my inbox options set to "Theme controlled" - but again that is just an assumption and not a big deal for me.
Unfortunately when I click on the "Direct Send Messages" icon, nothing happens.  I am however able to use the "View Folder" menu option in my main Messages app and then select the "Direct Send Messages" folder from there and it works correctly.  I don't know if this is a known issue with the new update or not.
Any suggestions on how to get this working correctly?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Wow! Formal support for all BBs is via the carriers...for them to blow you off like that is pretty horrible. I'd suggest contacting them again and push them a little bit more...you have a support agreement with them, if they are not honoring it, escalate with them.
In the meantime, are you on their most recent device OS level? If not, then you might consider updating to see if indeed what they have said holds some kernel of truth. You can check their DL site via this portal:

  • Problems with importing text messages from PC Suit...

    Problems with importing text messages from PC Suit 7.1.18.0 to my Nokia 5800
     I am trying to import a csv file that contains text messages (Note that this file was created using PC Suit 7.1.18.0) to a subfolder that I have created to My Folders but PC Suits only imports the text messages to the Draft folder. Note that initially it shows that the messages are import in the correct folder but after a refresh it shows them in the Draft Folder. Is their any setting that I should change in the PC Suit or the phone? My computer runs on Windows XP Service Pack 3 and the Nokia 5800 was upgraded to the latest firmware v20.0.012
     Thanks for your help

    Most phones only allows importing of draft and archived box for SMS.
    To do a restoring, you need to backup the SMS as a .nbu file using PC Suite and restore later.
    If you got an SD card, you can also do a backup on the SD Card (backup.arc) then restore later (reset and restore: backup.arc and mmc).

  • Problem with the "Total By" icon

    Hi.
    Working with Answer I've a problem with the "Total By" icon when the fact displayed is semi-additive.
    I try to explain better:
    1) my fact table has the following dimensions
    Time (year granularity)
    City
    Type of contracts
    2) the fact table contains the fact "Number of Active Contracts"
    this fact is additive by City and Type but not by Year.
    The "Number of Active Contracts" is calculated usign 2 existing logical columns
    Sum (of Number Of Contracts (at base granularity)) / Count Distinct ( of Years )
    This fact express an average when more than year is involed in the aggregation,
    but express the exact number of contracts if the year is displayed as an output column of the report.
    This fact works well changing the aggregation in reports, but when I click on the "Total By" icon to show
    the totals its behaviour is different from expected.
    consider the report with the following columns:
    Yearm City, Number of Active Contracts
    Click her to view it: http://yfrog.com/euerrtotaliconj
    The "Total By" icon Instead of the sum divided by ditinct years involed, i.e. 1, shows the sum divided by the number of Cities.
    It seem it is counting 5 tiimes (= number of cities) the same year.
    But If make a report with
    Year, Number of Active Contracts
    Click her to view it: http://yfrog.com/mjoktotalj
    it works as expected !
    Many thanks,
    Andrea

    Philipp is right to tell the developer that the toolbar is automatically disappearing after customizing the add-on on the toolbar. I tried it, and it looks like it gets attached to the Bookmark Tool bar. It may help to make sure all the Toolbars are visible in '''View> Toolbars. '''
    It may also be because I have too many extensions on my toolbar ( Too many favorites :-))

    Make sure your payment information on your iTunes account matches with your bank's. If it's correct and you still cannot purchase, you'll need to contact support and have them check your account.

  • Problem with Direct OC, i assume

    So recently during playing some games, such as Heroes of Newerth and Wow for the most part ive been experiencing some random spiking(especially around parts where some animations happen fast) in the games and when i tab out and check processes on *system manager?*(not sure if its that in english) Direct OC takes some serious amount of memory, allmost allways its around 50% of what my current game is taking. Im not really familiar with Direct OC's business so i usually just reboot it and keep doing what im doing, usually it helps the experience sometimes it doesnt. Also i have a second problem with Direct OC, well maybe not a problem but i assume its related to it. When i have Direct OC on and computer idles ~30mins or so with screen power saving or screen saver on the recovery from screen saving takes a little while to react with desktop or so, mouse keeps moving and all but cant really do anything. So when i thought it was an issue with Direct OC, i tried without it ending up with recovery not really happening...ever! Mouse keeps moving like usual but when i try to interact with anything nothing happens and at around 10-20clicks with mouse the whole OS just freezes and thats about it for it until i force boot comp. So im guessing with this problem Direct OC is actually boosting my cpu to overcome the recovery process from the saving, but im not really too familiar with all this so im trying my luck here now.
    My Build:
    Intel Core i5 759 2.67GHz
    MSI P55M-GD45 (MS-7588)
    XFX Radeon 5850HD 1024MB
    4GB of 1600MHz DDR3

  • Problem with Direct LDAP

    Hi Jay,
    I am having a problem with the switch to Direct LDAP. I am finally doing it on my production server. Using ldap 4.16 currently. Once I get this working I am upgrading to 5.2
    We have a server that holds messages until a user releases them. This server is called ewall.mydomain.com.
    They get a message in their inbox that allows them to click on a link to send the ewall server a message to release the held mail.
    the link would look like this:
    [email protected]
    (all on one line)
    This worked just fine in dirsync mode but after switching to Direct Ldap I get an 5.1.1 unknown or illegal alias when the user tries to send the message. If I switch back to dirsync mode it works fine again. Everything else is working fine.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Don

    Well, it means that for some reason, your [email protected]
    user isn't being picked up in the direct ldap.
    It could be that your domain is "mydomain.com", and the user is in "ewall.mydomain.com". dirsync assumes that subdomains are part of an overall domain
    direct ldap doesn't, unless you set
    domain_uplevel=3 in your option.dat, and recompile

    Hi,
    Thnaks for your reply, This is my requirement.
    Here my problem is i am trying to upload the data from flatfile which contain materil number, denominator, Actual UOM, Nominator field values.
    Which is the data i need to upload into MM02 and MM01, if material number is new then it has to create the material, if material is already existing it has to update the UOM values.
    here i am getting data into my internal table INP_DATA, from that i am trying to upload the data to database by using job name MRP_MATERIAL_MASTER_DATA_UPLOAD with direct input program RMDATIND.
    when i execute my program i am getting success message all the records writtin from flatfile to application server. and job started message.
    then if i go into sm37 screen there i execute the job it is also giving active message. if i refresh it it is showing job completed message.
    then i look at job log status. there i found that for existing material it is expecting material type, for new material it is giving some gravity error.
    So could u help me in this it will be gr8.
    Thanks & Regards,
    RamNV

  • Problem with Adobe Send Email functionality

    I have come across an issue in Adobe Reader 9 where if a PDF doucment loads with an IE frame, and you click the 'Send Email' button, the subject line is blank.
    Example URL: http://sc.openoffice.org/excelfileformat.pdf
    On clicking the Send Email button -> Send Copy
    Does anyone know a workaround to get the subject line populated?
    In addition, with previous versions of Abode (6,7,8) the subject line defaults to the name of the PDF instead of the PDF title? Is there a way of changing this?
    Any help would be most appreciated.

    I'm sorry to hear that you're having a problem with sending your files through Adobe Send.  Can you provide more details?
    What type of file are you sending?
    When you download the file yourself, is it blank?
    Are all recipients having the same problem?
    Do the recipients get a Preview of the file?
    Are they seeing the blank document as a Preview as well as after downloading?
    Would it be possible for you to send the file to me through Adobe Send?  I will provide you with my email address in a Private Message.

  • Another problem with SOAP sender

    I have another problem with SOAP scenario in a different environment (PI 7.0) from my earlier post.
    Scenario:
    Soap Sender -> PI -> Soap Receiver
    Following steps from GoogleSearch SOAP scenario in the SAP How-to Guide for SAP NetWeaver '04 entitled: "How To... Use the XI 3.0 SOAP Adapter" version 1.00 - March 2006.
    I have loaded in the api.google.com/GoogleSearch.wsdl file as an External definition and created the SOAP receiver as described in the How-to guide.  It takes a doGoogleSearch as input and sends back a doGoogleSearchResponse (Sync Call).
    Note that the GoogleSearch.wsdl contains a complex type ResultElementArray that refers to ResultElement\[\], and a DirectoryCategoryArray that refers to DirectoryCategory\[\].  The ResultElement and DirectoryCategory types are defined in the GoogleSearch.wsdl file.
    Problem One:
    The generated WSDL for the SOAP sender contains the ResultElementArray and DirectoryCategoryArray types but it DOES NOT contain the required ResultElement and DirectoryCategory types.  XML Spy complains that this WSDL is not valid because the type ResultElement\[\] is not defined.
    Problem Two:
    I generate a SOAP message in XML Spy, provide values for the doGoogleSearch fields, and send.  In SXMB_MONI, the SOAP sender payload contains only the <key> value from the doGoogleSearch message body, i.e. <part name="key" type="xsd:string" />
    The other doGoogleSearch fields seem to be missing, i.e.
      <part name="q" type="xsd:string" />
      <part name="start" type="xsd:int" />
      <part name="maxResults" type="xsd:int" />
      <part name="filter" type="xsd:boolean" />
      <part name="restrict" type="xsd:string" />
      <part name="safeSearch" type="xsd:boolean" />
      <part name="lr" type="xsd:string" />
      <part name="ie" type="xsd:string" />
      <part name="oe" type="xsd:string" />
    Does anyone know why:
    (1) PI/XI seems to leave out the ResultElement and DirectoryCategory types from the SOAP sender service WSDL file?
    (2) The doGoogleSearch message seen in SXMB_MONI contains only the first <key> field, and not the other fields?
    Thanks for any help with this.

  • After update, several problems (battery, factory recovery, Message icon)

    After Froyo update, I found out several problems.
    1) Battery.
    It drains two times faster than before. My one does. My wife's one is worst (maybe 3-4 times faster and also the phone is hotter than mine).
    2) Factory Recovery option
    I could not find any factory recovery button from mine and wife's.
    3) "Message" icon
    My one has no "Message" icon. It has just three icons "Pone/Contacts/Applications" at the bottom of the screen.
    But my wife's has all four icons "Phone/Contacts/Message/Applications"
    I don't know how to correct these.

    It sounds like most of your issues can be found by doing a factory restore on the phone.  Settings>privacy>factory data reset. The icons are customizable.  Press icon to bring up all icons.  Touch and hold on the icon you want on the main screen. You can touch and hold on a blank spot on home screen to add a widget.
    As for battery issues, the issue has been escalated to Samsung, and we are working with them to get a resolution as quickly as possible.
    Let us know if that helps out!

  • Having problem with receiving gmail message in my appropriate email folders.

    Hello,
     I am new to this forum and I have a question.
     Yesterday I was having problems with my BB Torch, the touchpad was doing funny things like jumping lines etc.
     So, I did a force restart, (remove battery for a minute).
     After I did that, all my gmail emails disappeared from the appropriate gmail icons. I have 2 gmails setup and none of the messages are there.
     They are still coming under the general MESSAGES folder where I can retrieve them but nothing under the gmail icons.
     Is there any way to fix it?
     I was really happy with the separate gmail folders and everything worked fine until now.
     Just FYI...  I did an update to the Blackberry software couple weeks ago but still everything worked fine even after.
     Can somebody help me to fix this?
     I even deleted the gmails and reset them again through the BB Setup.
     It still says, "No messages".
    Thank you

    Welcome to the Support Community!
    Sounds like you may have an issue with your Messages database. Please try clearing the Messages database then test with new messages only, without restoring the previous messages from backup. For further instructions, please see the following KB article: "How to clear the user content databases from the BlackBerry smartphone" http://bbry.lv/JtQKcw
    Hope this helps.

  • 8830 & Problem with opening FB messages

    My problem isn't with the app itself.  I am having problems when someone sends me a message through FB.  When I try to opening,   I get the following:
    uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointersException
    Just started on Monday.  Searching here said it was a problem with an update for yahoo messenger, so I deleted messenger and still have the problem.

    Are these messages coming into the actual Facebook application, or are they email notifications?
