  • Problems with Italian version of Dreamweaver [subject edited by moderator]

    The italian version of this software doesn't match with the configurations in the tutorials and it's impossible to follow the procedure to learn how to use it!! I've spent more than two hours just to put the "split working area" in vertical with no results. No way to open the same tools. And then, where are the assets files to download??? I think it could be a wonderful idea give us something easier to learn, simply having giving us the right correspondence between the software (open for the first time after the download) and the video tutorials…please, in this condition I cannot work and so how can I do?
    Ciao
    Paolo

    Dear Murray,
    unfortunately I can't go on with this program…it's impossible without the CSS file showed on the tutorial…I've also tried to find something on the web and I've tried to install Adobe Widget Browser but it doesn't work!
    So I've lost a lot of hours and I'm very frustrated and disappointed…and then the Dreamweaver CC version I've downloaded from Creative Cloud is different from the one in the tutorials, so I can follow all the indications without stop and start searching somewhere the things…
    In this condition it's impossible to learn how to use this software…it's an incredible waste of time…and paying for that!!

  • Problem with JavaScript snipet that DreamWeaver is writing

    I am having a problem with code that DreamWeaver (CS3) is
    writing. I'm fairly certain the problem is in a small piece of
    JavaScript that DreamWeaver is composing.
    This is a fairly complex problem, so bear with me.
    First - What I am trying to make happen: When on a page on my
    site (the-oilman.com) I want a link that opens a new window in the
    on-line store at a different site (AMSOIL.com). I need to leave
    both the page on my site open and have this 'store' page open.
    First of all this is working fine, using the 'Open Window'
    'behavior' in DreamWeaver. If someone wants to change windows (or
    tabs) and go back to my page, leaving the 'store' window open also
    - the problem is set up to happen. If from back at my site, you
    click on the same or a different link that goes back to the 'store'
    either on the same page or a different page at AMSOIL.com - the
    'store' window goes to the correct page, but the 'store' window
    does NOT come on top. When they click on a link to go back to the
    'store' I need the 'store' window to come to the top. If they have
    previously put something in the cart, and come back and add
    something else to the cart in the 'store' by coming in from
    different links on my site the 'store' is working correctly because
    I leave it open the whole time.
    snipets of code that DreamWeaver is writing for my site
    (the-oilman.com):
    from the head:
    <script>
    <!--
    CSAct[/*CMP*/ '129AABC1'] = new Array(CSOpenWindow,/*URL*/ '
    http://www.amsoil.com/redirect.cgi?zo=52257&page=store','store',0,0,true,true,true,true,tr ue,true,true);
    CSAct[/*CMP*/ '129AAC63'] = new Array(CSOpenWindow,/*URL*/ '
    http://www.amsoil.com/redirect.cgi?zo=52257&page=store','store',0,0,true,true,true,true,tr ue,true,true);
    CSAct[/*CMP*/ '10D39F40'] = new Array(CSOpenWindow,/*URL*/ '
    http://www.amsoil.com/redirect.cgi?zo=52257&page=storefront/sso','store',0,0,true,true,tru e,true,true,true,true);
    function MM_openBrWindow(theURL,winName,features) { //v2.0
    window.open(theURL,winName,features);
    //-->
    </script>
    code from 2 different links that is using this script:
    <a href="
    http://www.amsoil.com/redirect.cgi?zo=52257&page=storefront/sso"
    target="store" onClick="MM_openBrWindow('#','store','')"
    csclick="10D39F40">Buy Now</a>
    <a href="
    http://www.amsoil.com/redirect.cgi?zo=52257&page=store"
    title="AMSOIL Store at AMSOIL.com" target="store"
    onClick="MM_openBrWindow('http:www.amsoil.com/redirect.cgi?zo=52257&amp;page=store','stor e','')">On
    Line Store</a>
    I believe what I need is a longer javascript. Instead of just
    "window.open" I need an "if" but my javascript knowledge is very,
    very limited.
    I need it to first check that if the window named 'store' is
    open then 'focus' it, or if it is not open to open the window named
    'store'.
    Will this fix my problem? If so, please help me write the
    lines of code to do it.
    If this isn't the solution, what is the problem and the
    solution?
    A separate question but related: if you look in the two
    different links codes, in the function call one of them uses a
    'null' page reference and the other repeats the full link reference
    from the href= . Both seem to work, but which is the correct or the
    preferred syntax. My guess is there are some browsers that this
    will give a problem, but which way is preferred.

    mailto:[email protected]

    Create a new page. Try to apply this same behavior to a link
    on that new
    page. Look at the code. Can you reproduce the problem there?
    The code you
    show below has oodles of GL stuff in it. Do you need that GL
    markup?
    What operational sequence did you go through to get this
    behavior call?
    onClick="MM_openBrWindow('#','store','')"

  • Problem with a function of Dreamweaver Cs4

    Hi. Excuse me for my bad Inglish, but i am italian. I have a
    problem with Dreamweaver CS4. Before I have used the last version,
    CS3 and there were a function call image viewer (Insert >
    Multimedia objetcts > Image Viewer). In this new version, this
    function there is not. It's possible create the same effect with
    another function?
    Thank's

    The size of one line is 1024.
    if(bArray.length == 1023){
      out.write(bArray);
      byte[] temp = new byte[1];
      temp[0] = 100;
      out.write(temp);
    }else{
      out.write(bArray);
    In the 27 row the JCO trim the length of the line to 1023 bytes. The last byte is 100.
    And for this Problem I add the byte.
    Regards

  • Problems with webpage styling in dreamweaver

    Hello,
    I'm having problems with the basic design of my page, where my top bar isn't the height it ought to be.
    Here's my css stylesheet code (if you wonder what's up with the colors, I tried to add different colors so it would be easier to see where the different divs are):

  • Output Problem with my problem help please

    Here is the Instruction to the problem:
    An interesting problem in number theory is sometimes called the ?necklace problem.? This problem begins with two single-digit numbers. The next number is obtained by adding the first two numbers together and saving only the ones-digit. This process is repeated until the ?necklace? closes by returning to the original two numbers. For example, if the starting numbers are 1 and 8, the output would look like:
    18976392134718
    and below is my program:
    public class Necklace
         public static void main(String[] args)
              int f, s, sum, n, p;
              String first = JOptionPane.showInputDialog ("Enter first number:");
              String second = JOptionPane.showInputDialog ("Enter second number:");
              f = Integer.parseInt (first);
              s = Integer.parseInt (second);
              sum = f + s;
              n = sum % 10;
              p = s;
              while (!(p == f && n ==s))
                   sum = n + p;
                   p = n;
                   n = sum % 10;
              String output = f +""+ s +""+ ++n+"";
              JOptionPane.showMessageDialog (null, output, "Necklace", JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE);
    My problem is that I don't know or have any idea how to make the output so it will show all the numbers in between, my ouput it only show the first 3 number, 1 8 and 9

    My problem is that I don't know or have any idea how to make the output so it will show all the numbers in between, my ouput it only show the first 3 number, 1 8 and 9Hello and welcome to the forum. First and foremost, please use code tags when posting code here so that your code will retain its formatting and thus will be readable -- after all, your goal is to get as many people to read your post and understand your code as possible, right?
    To do this, highlight your pasted code (please be sure that it is already formatted when you paste it into the forum; the code tags don't magically format unformatted code) and then press the code button, and your code will have tags.
    Another way to do this is to manually place the tags into your code by placing the tag [cod&#101;] above your pasted code and the tag [cod&#101;] below your pasted code like so:
    [cod&#101;]
      // your code goes here
      // notice how the top and bottom tags are different
    [/cod&#101;]For instance, here is your code with tags:
    import javax.swing.JOptionPane;
    public class Necklace {
       public static void main(String[] args) {
          int f, s, sum, n, p;
          String first = JOptionPane.showInputDialog("Enter first number:");
          String second = JOptionPane.showInputDialog("Enter second number:");
          f = Integer.parseInt(first);
          s = Integer.parseInt(second);
          sum = f + s;
          n = sum % 10;
          p = s;
          while (!(p == f && n == s))
             sum = n + p;
             p = n;
             n = sum % 10;
          String output = f + "" + s + "" + ++n + "";
          JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, output, "Necklace",
                   JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE);
    }Next, you can declare your output String before the while loop, and then concatonate a new int on to this inside the loop. Perhaps an even better way is to use a StringBuilder object.

  • Problem with "if" statement in Dreamweaver

    I have successfully used "if" statements in the past with Dreamweaver, but I'm having a problem using it with images (i.e.  <img src = ).
    What I'm trying to accomplish is to display a default.jpg image if there is no image file name stored in a MySQL database.
    For example, if a team has a photo image, show that photo; otherwise, show a default image.  (The default image tells people how to submit a photo to me.)
    If I can't get this to work, I'll have to store a large number of image files with different names for the same "default.jpg" image.
    Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.

    I may have misunderstood your problem... why can't you just set the default value of the column in the table to the path of your default image? Then, when you call that variable into the page, if there has been one set, it will display that, if not, it will display the default.
    If there is some reason that you can't do that (if I'm missing your point), this should accomplish the same thing (though, I still think that the easiest way is to simply store the default image URL in the table by default.)
    Set the DEFAULT value of the column in the database to "-1" - so if there is nothing there, it returns "-1".  Then put the following in the page:
    <?php IF ($row_test['team_pic']=="-1")
    $image1=('<img src="images/default_pic.jpg">');
    ELSE $image1=('<img src="'.$row_test['team_pic'].'">');
    ?>
    <?php echo $image1; ?>
    Where your database column is "team_pic", and your default image is "default_pic.jpg" stored in the /images folder.
    Make sense?

    Base upon:
    <script src="Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js"
    type="text/javascript"></script>
    You page is looking for the JavaScript file at this location
    but cannot find it:
    http://www.sectiondesign.com/porcelain/Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js
    I also checked here:

    and did not find the file. Make sure that you upload the

    points to the place where you uploaded the file to.
    It appears that your menu SWF file is present at:

  • Problem with losing files in Dreamweaver after they have been saved.

    Hello everyone,
    Presently, I am a student and was working with Dreamweaver in an attempt to build my portfolio Web site. I had my root folder completed and saved my Dreamweaver file, next I and gave it a site, or designated a site, whatever it is called. I was about to load an image and I did not like the way it was coming along so I tried to back out, but it would not let me for some reason. So I decided to just close it and go back to my previously saved file. Here is what happened:
    This is what is left, but no file. Please, for the love of God can someone tell me what keeps doing this. This happened last year when I was in another class and had to take an incomplete and never got to finish it because I had nothing to go by and could not remember the steps. I am so frustrated, and always happens when there is no one around to help. I am so tired of software and technology failing me. What does someone do with a paying client when this happens? In any case for anyone's information I have Dreamweaver CS6 CC and I am running it on a MacBook Pro Retina 15 inch, Early 2013 that utilizes OS X Yosemite 10.10.2. I would love to know if there is anyone else having this problem. Hope this information helps too as I am frustrated and at times second guessing whether or not this is a deal breaker in this field. Very disgusted and discouraged at the moment.
    Augustine

    You might try using Finder to locate the file you're attempting to open, and compare its actual location to the location of your site folder in Dreamweaver's Site Setup:
    More likely than not, there's a discrepancy between where the file is, and your site folder - as configured in Dreamweaver.

  • Facing Problems with the Installation of Dreamweaver CS3

    Hello,
    I am facing some problem while installing Dreamweaver CS3 ..
    tried number of times but to no avail.. every time the same error
    message pops up "You can only install one product at a time. Please
    complete the other installation before attempting to install Adobe
    Dreamweaver CS3"
    I am pretty sure I am not installing any other Adobe product
    in parallel. I already have Adobe Flash CS3 on my system and its
    working pretty fine for me but I am not able to get around with
    Dreamweaver. Please let me know what I need to do to run this
    software on my system successfully.

  • Problems with FTP connection in Dreamweaver 4

    I hope someone can help me with the following:
    Since recently I can only connect to the FTP host within
    Dreamweaver once a day.
    I have two defined sites in my Dreamweaver 4 and before I
    could connect several times a day both sites - no problem.
    But now it connects once and then when either trying to
    connect to the other defined site or perhaps a while later to the
    first site again (where I connected well on the same day already) I
    am getting the error message: 'FTP error - connection to the host
    cannot be madet'.
    Basically it will now always only connect daily once.
    Anyone any idea what is causing this?
    Many thanks for your help.

    These issues are most often associated with your firewall.
    Please try
    disabling it altogether.

  • Problems with creating Newsletter in Dreamweaver

    Hey everyone, I'm having few problems in creating my newsletter in Dreamweaver.  I hope someone can help me!
    1. My html layout is different when I preview in different browsers. I know it is quite common to happen, but I dont know how to fix mine. It works fine in Safari and Chrome but the images and text are incorrect in Explorer and Firefox for example. How can I fix that? Here is the link so you all can look at it: http://www.ntgblog.com/Images/newsletter3.html
    2. Another little thing I notice was Dreamweaver gives me a msg when I asked to check compatibility and I can see that the text "NTG monthly newsletter.." is not align in the bottom, why? How do I fix it?:
    Support for the top, text-top, middle, bottom, and text-bottom values of the CSS property vertical-align is incomplete; these values may not produce the intended effect.
    Affects: Internet Explorer for Macintosh 5.2
    I think that's it for now. I really need to show it to my client tomorrow, so hopefully someone can help!
    Thanks you very much!
    Karen

    First, don't test IE for Mac.  It hasn't been supported in years and hasn't worked since Tiger I think or maybe Leopard.  Also if you plan on emailing, get it into an ESP or something so you can send to the client to show them how it will look in different email clients.  For instance, since your a:hover is in the head of your code, GMail will ignore it.

  • Problems with sliced images in dreamweaver

    Hi, when i uploaded a template from photoshop into dreamweaver and typed in "index" in the link box, the entire page expands a little with white spaces in between all sliced images. How do i fix it?

    You may want to have a read of these two articles from the DW FAQ:
    Posting code in this forum
    How to get help quickly
    From the image it looks like the page is breaking due to very poorly written html.  As someone pointed out, do not use an image editor to write the code for your page.    Slice up the PS comp and build the page in Dreamweaver.
    If you are new to Dreamweaver, it may be worthwhile to take a tour of the following tutorials:

  • Problems with coloured background in Dreamweaver CS6

    Hi,
    Probably best if I attach images rather than describe the problem, so that's what I'll do.
    As you can see there is a grey bar to the side of the page and it is the same at the bottom when I zoom out. I'm making this website as part of my Uni course and I have to follow a specific template so, please, don't judge me on what it looks like... lol.
    The code for the background section looks like this:
    body {
              background-color: #CC9966;
              background-repeat: repeat-y;
    I have also coloured the footer.
    #footer {
    colours for text within the
    footer division, ie <p id="footer">
    color: #2D2D2D;
    background-color: #CC9966;
    So what do I have to change to make the colour fill the background entirely? I'm an amateur so please don't use too much technical language. I'm sure it's a simple fix, anyway.
    Thanks a lot.
