Problem with drop down menus in firefox 4

when I scroll over a drop down menu, for example when I right click and put the cursor over one of the options it goes black. If I scroll over one of the menu bar drop down menus as I move over one of the options it stays highlighted in gray. I am running firefox 4 and have already tried turning on the menu bar and turning off hardware acceleration

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I blindly install Apple updates, but with Safari 7.1 I run into problems with the drop down menu of www.arcweb.com. As this is my main client it is a big problem. Any suggestions or solutions?

Empty Caches.
1. Safari > Preference > Advanced
    Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
    "Develop" menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
    Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
2. Quit Safari if open.
    Option click the "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.
    Select "Library" and then "Caches".
    Look for the folder 'com.apple.Safari"
    Right click "com.apple.Safari" and select "Move to Trash"
    Relaunch Safari.

Problems using drop down menus in safari v7

I am having problems using drop down menus in safari v7. e.g. on the BMW used cars website (http://usedcars.bmw.co.uk), there's a drop down box for location. This only goes up to 50 miles on my macbook but goes up to national on my iPad. Any ideas?

I tried to import it through MS Word but iPad doesn't support the document. Looking into converting document into a Numbers spreadsheet as it has drop down boxes but unfortunately need to buy the £6.99 numbers app for iPad to make it worthwhile. Might just stick to good old fashioned "cross out the answers that don't apply" using pen and paper..................

How can I correct the problems I've been experiencing lately with drop-down menus in general as well as and leading of text. It 's occurring on both Safari and Firefox browsers.

The above headline pretty much covers the problems.
Access to the drop down menus is erratic. Sometimes it's problem-free, but at other times it's impossible to see the options on the menu, or if they are visible, it's impossible to effect a change by clicking on one of them. The times I notice it most is when I am trying to change fonts or font sizes, but it occurs at other times, as well.
It's also frustrating to have to deal with double spacing (for example, when describing items on eBay). Sometimes the text flows normally, but if I force a return, the text that follows usually is double-spaced.
Often, the justification option does not work either.
Occasionally, I can get around one problem or another by switching back and forth between Safari and Firefox, but eventually, the original problem resurfaces.
Because it happens on both browsers, eBay tech support is inclined to think the problem is in my software. (I'm inclined to agree.)
Although they have suggested clearing the history in FF, that option must have been relocated, because it'sno longer under the "Tools" menu, where it was in the past. I also can't find the clear your cache option on OS Safari or 10.8.3.

I don't think it'd help much but clearing history is now in the History menu, and setting FF to clear history on exit is near the bottom of the Privacy tab of FF Preferences.
Also, if you don't have the Develop menu in Safari, open Safari preferences, click Advanced, and select “Show Develop menu in menu bar.” You'll find "Empty Caches" there.

Right-click, drop-down menus in Firefox 15 cause entire Mac OS 10.7.4 system to hang, forcing manual reboot.

I bought a new MacBook Pro.
I am running Mac OS 10.7.4 with Firefox 15. Every time I right click or try to use a drop-down menu in Firefox, it causes the entire system to hang, forcing a manual reboot.
No crash reports are available as the Firefox does not actually crash.
I have tried
1.) Starting Firefox in safe mode
2.) Disabling all the add-ons
3.) Resetting Firefox
4.) Removing and re-installing Firefox
5.) Disabling hardware acceleration
The problem still occurs.
This is critical a critical issue as I have been using Firefox's Zotero plugin to write my PhD dissertation which is about 50% complete and now I cannot use Firefox or the Zotero plugin and have about 800 references I do not want to have to manually re-enter!! Also it is preventing me from continuing work on the dissertation as I am unable to insert references, and I have submit this thing by March!!!!

Ok, further developments. Still can't get Firefox to work; it makes Lion hang and I have to force a reboot. I tried using terminal to open FF's profile manager, delete my old profile and make a new one. Same problem.
I tried making a new user account in Mac OS, and doing another fresh install of Firefox. It worked! I was able to use drop down menus and right click without crashing the system!
However, as soon as I installed the Zotero plugin... the same issue started occurring again.
Dear programmers, please help me. It will literally take me weeks of work to re-do all of my citations using a different software or manually. There must be a way to fix this problem!

Problems with pull-down menus

I have been having a lot of trouble with Safari Version 7.0.2 (9537.74.9) since upgrading to 10.9.2. One such problem is with pull-down menus in websites. (This is as distinguished from the pull-down menus of Safari itself.) Many websites have pull-down menus. These website menus do not work effectively in Mavericks. For example, one website that is very important to me has a menu that is longer than the height of my monitor. And the selections that I almost always need are at the bottom of that menu. When I scroll down that menu, the menu proceeds too fast, and I almost always overshoot the selection that I want. At that point, then, Safari stops the operation of the pull-down menu, and I have to reload the whole page.
Safari gets worse. Often I try to print a webpage to PDF. When I pull down the "PDF" menu in the print window, I have to be very, very careful to select the exact selection "save as PDF." If I don't, then Safari crashes, and I get a dialog box asking me if I want the OS to send a notice to Apple. I click "Yes." I wish the button said, "Yes, of course, right now, without delay," but it does not. And then I have to wait for Safari to start up again.
Is there a solution to this problem?

You have the last version of Safari that will work with OS X 10.2.x. You might want to give Firefox a try.

Hi, can anyone tell me why these drop down menus are working
in firefox 1
but not in firefox 2.0.0.6.
They were working ok in all browsers and I have now made the

I have created a Fireworks nav bar with drop down menus. Can't get the weblinks to save.

I have been trying to add the web addresses in my Fireworks nav bar drop down menus. I can't get them to "take". I add the address, click done and some of them save and some don't. I am pulling my hair out! HELP!

the easiest way is constructing your menu with frame labels
now i have no way of knowing how you are constructing it ..so
this may not work for you ...i assume that you have created a main
button ...that has been converted into a symbol & then
duplicated to create all other buttons

i will explain how to create 1 button with 4 submenu items
with the trems that i mentioned above
but iam not going to explain all the details of creating a
whole nav bar
because it just takes too much typing ...i assume you already

sooo ! ...lets say this is the Portfoio button ...inside the
symbol now
create 8 layers ...the order is going from top to bottom
actions
labels
submenu Logos
submenu Illustration

submenu Coolstuff ."you will name your button items how you

main button....lets just say Portfolio !
invisible btn for main button
so now on with the hard stuff
create 20 frames ...stop action on frame 1 ...frame 9
...frame 20
on the labels layer now ....name frame1 "Closed" ...frame 10
"Open"
on the submenu Logos layer ...create a keyframe on frame 10
all frames before the 10th frame will be blank frames
repeat that for the rest of the submenu items
on the main button layer you will just place the main
Portfolio button on frame 1
& on the invisible button layer ..the inv btn is going to
be placed on frame 10
all this is iam hoping your have converted everything into1
symbol
all you need to do know is attach code to the main Portfolio
button & the invisible button
so click on the Portfolio button
on (rollOver) {

then just repeat this process for every button that makes up

Business Contact Manager 2013 Issue with drop down menus not working correctly and BCM disappearing.

We upgraded from BCM 2007 to BCM 2013. Now the BCM disappears from Outlook occasionally and the drop down menus are confused. for instance when accessing the drop down for phone numbers, the user selects company - but the field for TTY/TDD comes up.
Shows fields that don't exist etc.
The client is using Office 2013 Pro Premium from Office 365 Small Business Premium subscription and BCM downloaded from Microsoft website.
Please let me know what the support avenues are for this product.

This issue may be caused since the BCM was not installed properly.
Please go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features, find Business Contact Manager for Microsoft Outlook and Uninstall it.
Then go to
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36513, download the right version of BCM(32bit or 64bit) and install it.

Nasty Safari 5.1 problem with drop-downs on Lion

There appears to be a nasty bug in Safari on Lion related to certain types of drop-downs where clicking on the drop-down resets the entire page. I have already encountered it on several webpages. Here is a link to a webpage which shows this behavior.

If you scroll to the bottom half and try to create a new account, you are unable to do so since the required Country value (via drop-down) cannot be set as it resets the page whenever you click or try to access it via keyboard. I guess it is good to keep Chrome and Firefox around for pages that Safari can't handle, but it would seem that this is something basic that Apple's automated test suites should have caught. Again, it does not happen with all drop-downs, only certain types.

It's a problem with using webfonts on select forms in the CSS. If you disable the webfont on select forms, the problem goes away. Hopefully, Apple fixes the problem soon since it's a major bug. It doesn't just reload the page but it logs you out if you're signed into the site.

Problems with drop-down list: old references still in the model

I am getting in troubles with a drop-down list. I configured it as dynamic list and I specified a RFC to get the values. Sometimes when I edit the field I get that the configuration for the dynamic list is lost and I have to specify again the call to the MF. I did this for a couple of times and my surprise is that the old references are still in the source code. I realized of that when I used the alias manager. The old reference were there with ENUM....To check if the old references are called I switched on the flash debug console and I show that the MF is called a lot of times...
Anybody knows how to eliminate these old reference???' One the collateral effects is that the first value of the list is always shown.

PS: You might avoid the problem of re-defining the entry list, by defining it as a global entry list, not a dynamic. However, the top-most entry will still be shown!

Problem with drop down list: on Windows it works, on Mac doesn't

I am reworking the MultiPageImporter2.5 script by Scott Zanelli; going to add some new features.
So far I added a drop down list so the user could choose on which pages to place a pdf/indd file: odd/even/both.
However I encountered a strange problem: on Windows it works as expected, but on Mac nothing happens when I click the popup. When I write a dialog, I almost always use automatic layout and never encountered such a problem before. But in this script the author uses fixed position for the controls so I followed his coding style:

The drop down list is visible both on Windows and Mac, but on Mac it’s not clickable. What am I doing wrong?
Another question: in the script, the author created three popups. In the code, each popup has a different height (the last element of the “bounds” array) – 60, 88, 33. Does it make sense to make them different if on the screen they look exactly the same (I mean height).
Here’s my version of the script.
I think the easiest solution for me here is to rework the dialog part from fixed to automatic layout.

In my version of the script, the user will have to choose a file to be placed directly in the dialog box. The selected file can be saved into a preset. I'm reworking it for another person (not for myself) and that's what he wants.

I am creating a template with drop down menus in Numbers. I want to be able to insert options into the middle of my list at a later date if I need to, but I can only insert at the end of the drop down list. Is there a different program I could be using?

I need to be able to add in more options into my drop down list in Numbers at a later time, not only at the bottom but say in the middle of the list. Should I be using a different program that can allow this to work? Thank you!

When I paste this code into an html snippet in iWeb, my page does not work correctly after publishing to a folder. The jump to location doesn't open its corresponding page. Instead, it defaults to the same page that has the drop down menu, only the menu doesn't appear any more. Instead, I get a "hole" where the drop down menu used to be.
