Problem with EAX in audigy 2 platinum

I have the soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS When i listen to music i always have the pop effect on on eax console. there are quite a few times that when i turn the effect on i cant hear any sound on my computer. the problem does not exist with the environmental effects (like theater , concert hall etc) only with the advanced EQ. had this problem for ages. i installed countless times new drivers but no luck. that used to happen with my old soundblaster platinum too

I assume that you are running WinXP with Service Pack 3. Did you do a clean sweep of all the Creative Software and reinstall from the A2ZS CD? Do you get sound then?

4 problems with new K8N Neo 2 Platinum

Just purchased by first MSI board after using Abit for years. Why...I read very good reviews on this board but now I wonder if I made a bad choice.
I have 4 problems with this board.
1. The PCI slots do not recognize any hardware. I have tried my US Robotics modem and Audigy sound card in each slot and nothing.
2. The fire wire port is inoperable. It does not appear in device manager.
3. The second LAN (Gigabit) does not function also. It does not appear in device manager.
4. Won’t boot with my Radeon 9600 XT graphics card. (Might work 1 out of 20 tries if lucky) It works on my old motherboard. Old 7200 works but has a hard time on cold boot.
All of this hardware still works in my old ABIT IC7-G
Here is my setup
Fresh install XP Pro SP2
K8N Neo2 Platinum
AMD Athlon 64 +3500 (Socket 939)
(2) 512MB sticks Corsair TwinX-3200LL Slots 1&2
Radeon 9600XT (Currently using Radeon 7200) as 9600 wont boot
Antec Trueblue Truepower 480W (+5V 38A/+12V 22A/+3.3V 30A)
Board came with bios ver. 1.3 out of box
(2) Western Digital Raptors 36MB each (Raid 0) SATA 3&4
Plextor PX 708A DVD RW
Sent an email to MSI tech support and received the following response:
With regard to your concern, would you please first enter BIOS and Load Optimized Defaults, then save&exit. Also please remove all current drivers for your motherboard and install them over again using the setup CD provided by MSI along with your motherboard? And then please check if in Device Manager, there is any yellow marks, then check again.
If after re-install the drivers the problem still persists, could you please tell us how you connect your HDD to system, and which is your system partition, which can help us analyse the issue. Thanks in advance.
I have done each of these several times with no luck and my reponse to MSI is still unanswered.
Other than all these items......everything else works as I am using this PC to write this call for help.
Any help would be appreciated.

Download the latest Nvidia nForce3 System Drivers from MSI
1)Download to a folder & Unzip the File (Right Click On it)
Also get the Following:-
Realtek Gigabit Ethernet Drivers
Realtek 10/100 LAN Drivers
Realtek ALC Series AC'97 Audio Drivers
2)Open Bios & goto Onboard Devices Ensure the following are enabled :-
MAC Lan (Should be Set to Auto)
OnBoard 1394
OnBoard Giga Lan
AC97 Audio (Enable it for Now & Setup Drivers - Easy to Disable it When SB IN)
3)Install the drivers - Try Right Clicking on the Setup - Properties - Compatability Mode - Select Windows 2000 (Some Drivers Especially NVIDIA Ghave been known just to run but not Install This option should help prevent that)
See where you get through that
Note Once everything is up & running ok you may want to keep your drivers upto date by using the Unified Nvidia System Drivers, as they are usually updated quicker than the MSI ones.

Big Problems with Vista and Audigy

Hello.
My name is Jana and I'm from Germany. This board is my last hope now.
I have big problems to use my audigy 2zs in Vista Business (32 bit).
I use the latest driver from 9.3.07.
The installation process works fine and I get no errors. But I can't start the AudioConSole . I always get an error, that no audio device was found (error message is german)?!? The device manager shows no problems and the audigy 2zs is correctly listed.
I need this AudioConSole to activate the 5. speaker settings. In the sound preferences in Vista is that not possible.
My speakers also need the creative software from cd to activate the bass, but I when I install this software and then restart, only a few programs are installed (but they don't work). I need especially the speaker settings but there is unfortunately no way to install this software.
I did this procedure at least 5, 6 or 7 times, but it always don't works.
So please can you help me?

Hmm... Try to redownload the drivers from the website, because Creative has updated them to include a proper signature. It is possible that the drivers do not load if they are not signed, which would explain why the AudioConsole does not launch. Also, Windows Vista does the Bass redirection by itself:? If you select 5. speakers from the standard Control Panel, you will be asked whether you have satellites or full-range speakers. Selecting satellites means that the lower frequencies need to be played by the Subwoofer instead. If that still doesn't work, you can do the following:? Extract the downloaded drivers using WinRAR (or similar) (right-click and then extract). Then go to the Subfolder "Drivers\wdm\common\i386"? and run "CtPanel.exe". From there going to the speakers tab there is a "BASS-M" option...

Problems With Sound Blaster Audigy: New Sys

I just received my new computer from Dell:
Pentium D 3.0ghz
Geforce 7800 GTX 256mb
2 GIGs ram
Windows Xp Prof x64
SoundBlaster Audigy
My problem occurs in my game called Nascar Racing 2003 Season. The sounds play fine, however when It comes time to load more 3dimensional sounds (like cockpit), the sounds turn into a high pitched buzz, and then freezes my computer so that not even ctl-alt-del works. Sometimes this happens when exiting the game as well, and my system does a complete memory dump and then shows this file: ctoss2k.sys..
I've reinstalled the drivers, the game, and I'm out of ideas. I don't have any other games to test this one, but I've run the Dell diagnostics and run the dxdiag for the sound and it passed with flying colors. If nothing can be done here my next idea is getting on the phone with Dell and having them fix my new computer!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Problems with EAX Possbi

Hi,
When I am playing games which have EAX capabilities I seem to encounter distorted sound (crackeling). How can I gt it to not o this?
I have turned off ALL of the EAX stuff in the game but still I get it.. I dont get it in older games which dont have EAX capabilities.
I have a soundblater li've 24Bit with 5. Surround Sound VideoLogic Speakers.
P4 3GHZ
GB DR 400 RAM
200GB SATA HDD
ATI Radeon 9000 28MB GFX Card
ASUS IC7-G Mainboard
Anyone got any suggstions for me?

I downloaded the iso for Audigy 2 from http://badboy.hub.io/, but am reluctant to install it without recommendation from this forum. I also did a search for eax.exe on the iso and it wasnt there.
I would really appreciate some feedback on this.

Problems With Sound Blaster Audigy 2

The Problem that I'm having is this:
Every time that i bring up the volume console to do whatever, once i move the mouse cursor into the window, my computer either restarts or locks up. Now I have tried over and over again to update all drivers and software for this sound card. Even thinking that it might be a compatibility issue with other cards (video, wireless) i updated their drivers as well. Doing so made me run into other problems, like opening up office Word, just locks up. I never had these problems before at all until i installed this sound card. Now, the card works perfectly! Sound comes out in all respecti've ports and microphone and line in works as well. Its the software that I cant seem to use. I just don't understand why, this is a brand new card with its own software. But to add lastly to this, I formatted hard dri've, installed Windows XP home, then immediately afterwards i installed the drivers and software for the sound card and it worked like nothing was wrong at all, software and all. But once i installed my video drivers and software, either the sound card software didn't work or the operating system would lock up right after the splash load screen. Please, can someone let me know anything that i can do to fix this problem! It's been very bothersome and annoying as all! Thank You.

Alright, I once again formatted the hard dri've. This is what i've done:
Windows XP Home w/SP
All Motherboard Drivers
Disabled On-Board Sound
Installed Audigy 2 ZS Drivers and Software
Removed Wireless Card and Video Capture card
And all Windows OS updates
Direct X 9.0c
But what i haven't done yet is installed the drivers and software for the video card. I have a ATI 9800 XT 256mb AGP card, getting updated drivers for the card is not a problem. But I also didn't install service pack 2 yet either. im trying to figure what is really causing the problem now. But as of now, the sound card and software is working properly. thats pretty much where i stand now, so if there is anyone out there that might now what i can do from here, or what should i NOT do, please let me know!

Driver problem with SB LIve 5.1 Platinum card

This card is fine even at 6 to 7 years old, however after installing Adobe Audition 3 to do some mixing for gaming I noticed the front speaker headphone jack had no sound. I can't say if Audition was the fault or not but I did remove the program and all entries in the registry using the microsoft? tool. I have reinstalled the SB drivers for this device 3 times and after a fresh driver install the jack works perfectly but after shutting down and re starting the next day the no sound problem is back and nothing I do corrects it. At the rear of the card the output is just fine and I can even go up to the 5. surround system headphone jack and it is fine, just the front li've dri've is no sound. There is no static or any indication that something may be wrong with the jack , when it works it is perfect.
Is there a registry entry that may be corrupting that causes this. I have the DVD sound turned off in the hardware driver section as it should be to hear from the front jack. If I re installed the drivers again for this card I would have sound at the front jack, so who do you have to know in Creative to get some help with this. I am dissapointed that a software issue is not important enough to give support to a past product. I use four of these cards and the next time I choose new cards you can bet I will give a lot of thought to the support. I don't want a new card just some drivers that work.

I disabled the onboard audio ac97.
I checked the sound card in my friend's PC.
It worked.
when using creative diagnosis, it says hardware working, drivers properly installed but
while checking the speakers i am not able to listen to "Left Channel" or "Right Channel" etc.
I my friend's system, the same card worked.
Speakers Creative PC works LX520 5. speakers work...
So the card works.
My doubt is
PCI slot is working or not, but i tried with all 3 slots.
If PCI slot doesn't work, then my os Win98 and WinXp won' t have shown the "New device PCI Multimedia Audio device found", it is not the case , I recognises the card, installs the driver.
Will there be any specific patch or Hotfix for Krypton BKS700 Motherboard ?

Problems with Old SB Audigy and newer thi

I just installed a Core 2 Duo 2.3 ghz on a Foxconn p965 motherboard and an ATI Radeon x950xt. About the only thing making a return to my machine is my old SB Audigy.
After several hours back and forth from the machine, reinstalling drivers, moving plugs around on my speaks, I'm stuck. The sound that comes through is constantly popping and changing volume levels and I'm not sure how to fix it anymore.
Any help and/or thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Do you have 5. selected in Speaker Settings? If so, then you should get surround sound when you play a source such as a surround sound DVD. For playing a stereo source such as a music CD, you can use the EAX CMSS3D option to emulate surround sound. Make sure the EAX Audio effects, Cleanup, and Time Scaling options are disabled.

Problems with ALSA and Audigy 2

I have a Audigy 2 Value card in my box and it has been working fine under Gentoo, SuSe and Kubuntu. But with Arch I can't get it to work. I have followed the wiki and installed all the alsa stuff, but it won't find the card!
I can modprobe snd-emu10k1 and then all the modules show up when I check with lsmod. Dmesg tells me that there's a Creative Audigy 2 installed, but when I run alsamixer i just get
"alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such device"
both as root and as a user. I've added the user to the audio group.
Running alsaconf just locks up Konsole.
I've tested this with both devfs and udev.
Running 2.6.10 and the latest alsa.
Does anyone know what might be wrong?
Should I compile a newer kernel?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

the rear speaker out and the center/subwoofer out only sound by one side., the other speaker is not working.
The configuration is correct and i have the last drivers. i dont know what it could be. can you help me to identificate the proplem please.

P.S. If you have trouble helping me with my problem. Think about how much trouble I am having helping you with yours. Especially when I do not have a clue what the specs of your Hardware, OS and Power Supply are.

Problems with my SB Audigy

So I bought an Audigy SE yesterday with the goal of configuring my sound to 5.. I installed the card correctly on my motherboard (An Asus P4P800 SE) and installed the drivers from the CD. Now this is weird. Vista detected the sound card and wanted to search the web for the correct drivers immediately, but the drivers I installed didn't even detect the card after I installed a service pack for Vista that was downlaoded by the sound card's updater program. It still appears in the Device Manager.
Also, my mic isn't detected by the card. Neat. (It's a $20 Logitech "Extreme Gamer" headset or something like that)
If anyone could tell me what to do, or recommend a card more compatible with my motherboard & Vista, please inform me.

Try manually downloading the driver first to see if that works (select your card in the list on the Downloads page and choose your OS, and it'll show you the relevant files).
The CD with that product is not meant for Windows Vista, so do not install that.

The ZxR has asio according to Creative's product sheet.
Maybe you should contact tech support again and put in the above link and ask why they say that there is no asio support !
I don't use asio so I don't know more about it.

Audigy 2 Platinum prob

Hello,?Upon uninstalling the Bioshock demo today I noticed that my headphones were no longer functioning out of the Audigy 2 front port. I checked the volume and headphones, both those were working properly and nothing was muted. I can hear the sound out of my speakers normally. Additionally, if I now click on Surround Mixer I get "unable to change the sound device to your selected device."? I tinkered around a bit in device manager but did not find precisely what I was looking for evidentally to fix the issue. All the sound devices were set to Audigy 2, and that is where I get stuck!?Any advice as to where to look would be helpful.Message Edited by Platinumstorm on 08-22-2007:3 PM

I've been able to get to the surround mixer by reinstalling the drivers, but being able to get the headphones to work through the device still isn't happening... If anyone has any advice i'd appreciate it =D.

After doing a search and coming up with nothing, here's my problem.
I just installed my Audigy2 zs platinum pro. When I attempt to utilize audiohq I get the following error:
AudioHQ Plugins Launcher has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Error signature
appname: ahqrun.exe AppVer: .0.6.0 ModName:ctdevu.ahq
ModVer: .6.4.0 Offset:0000ec2
The same error applies to device controls, eax controls, and the autoregister program.
I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, updating the drivers, rolling back the drivers, I'm currently downloading SP2 and will try installing that :_( and there are no conflicts listed in the device manager.
