Problem with Extension Manager in DW 8
In DW 8, when I click Command, the Extension Manager is
grayed-out even when I'm logged in as an Administrator. I can
install entensions by double-clicking them but they are not
available in the program thereafter and the Extension Manager is
still grayed-out.
Is there a fix for this?
Reinstall the Extension Manager.

DW CS4 with Windows 7 - problems with Extension Manager
Hi
I am new to this forum and have searched to see if anybody else has had this issue but can't find it.
I have recently installed CS4 on a Windows 7 laptop. I had originally downloaded and installed it on an XP laptop where it was all fine.
I had some problems with installation with the unlocking of the serial number on the new laptop - this was resolved by Adobe support.
However now I am trying to install extensions and get the message that the Extension Manager is unavailable and I have to re-install.
I have tried to contact Adobe using the Support portal but my post has been there for 4 days and I have had no response. I have just tried to call and after 12 minutes of being on hold - when the wait time was supposed to be 1 minute - I gave up.
Can anyone help with this. Does this mean an uninstall then re-install again? In which case I will have the same serial number issue that I had before. Or is there any other way I can install the Extension Manager?
Would really appreciate any help.I had a somewhat similar experience with the 4.2.1 upgrade with my computer. With my Q6600 running at 3.2 GHz, Vista x64 and with PPro CS4/4.1 update, I ran the PPBM4 benchmark and scored an 83.8. I then installed Win 7 x64, clean install etc… and re-ran the PPBM4 benchmark, with the same 4.1 update and with all system configurations the same as before, my score improved to 68.8, fantastic! I was very impressed with Win 7 x64.
This was short-lived because I updated PPro from 4.1 to 4.2.1, re-ran the PPBM4 benchmark and my score fell to 83.1 seconds, not impressed with the 4.2.1 update as far as this benchmark was concerned. I replaced the Q6600 with a Q9450, also over clocked to 3.2 GHz and with Win 7 x64, ran the PPBM4 benchmark and scored a 68.1; I got back everything I had lost in system speed from the 4.2.1 update plus some.
The Q6600 does not have the SSE4 instruction set while the Q9450 does. Perhaps the 4.2.1 update benefited CPU’s with SSE4 while those CPU’s without it, took a performance hit, just a guess. -

Hello to all. Today I installed the latest version of Adobe CC - including Dreamweaver and Photoshop and the Extension manager - (August 29, 2014). When I try to install my Dreamweaver extensions (ExtendStudio)... I've done it .... and it works
I can now use the "dashboard" extension from Kubota
I'm not familiar with this process, so another question : as it seems there

- Download it and install (in this case would my ormer extension still work
- "Update PhotoShop to CS5.5 (but it says I have the latest updaytes) and
Extension Manager to CS5.5

Trying to load server behaviour but problem with extension manager
I keep downloading the server behaviour extension from exchange which tells me that I need the latest version of the the extension manager. I have the latest version of extension downloaded through the cloud. But when I go to windows - manage extensions , it goes to the cloud panel and shows me that extension manager is up to date, and not ot the extension manager. So now I can't access server behaviours which is the reason I use DW in the first place. I have windows 7 , 4gb ram, DW CC.
Please click "Tools"->"Preferences" menu item in Extension Manager CC, check "Enable detailed logging" option. Restart Extension Manager. Try to install the extension. After the error message pops up, quit Extension Manager. Send the log files under "C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Extension Manager CC\Log" folder to [email protected]

Problem with discovering Managed Servers
Hi,
I got problem with discovering managed servers, when I restart only administration
server while managed servers are running. During restart of admin server everything
seems to be ok (the directive: Starting discovery of managed server... appears
on the screen).
However when I start admin console through http, I cannot monitor performance,
browse logs etc. I can only shutdown managed server and I can see in a server
tag that particular managed servers are running.
I'm looking forward for any clues
MichalSorry,
i cannot stop those managed server - in Control tab I have active only option
to start those server but they are running. In logging tab when I want to browse
the log the message that probably this server is not running appear. However in
the tab when all servers are listened there is a message that they are running

Hi, i have problem with session manager's session files. The problem is: the submitted storage data from firefox which is put between "storage":{ and its matching closing brace } But in some of my session files there is non equal { and } under storage's braces. I need to get storage data but in my case it is very hard to do. My question is there any char put before or after { and } like /{ or \{ to avoid confusion? If there is not such thing, i think there could be different solution but i am not sure: i look couple of my session files; after "storage":{...} there is ,_"formDataSaved" so i can get storage data in this example ... by looking between "storage":{ and ,"_formDataSaved" easily. Is there every time ,"_formDataSaved" after "storage":{ ? Thank you.
Well, it seems waiting is not my strong suit..! I renamed a javascript file called recovery to sessionstore. This file was in the folder sessionstore-backups I had copied from mozilla 3 days ago, when my tabs were still in place. I replaced the sessionstore in mozilla's default folder with the renamed file and then started mozilla. And the tabs reappeared as they were 3 days ago!
So there goes the tab problem. But again when I started mozilla the window saying "a script has stopped responding" appeared, this time the script being: chrome//browser/contenttabbrowser.xml2542
If someone knows how to fix this and make firefox launch normally, please reply! Thank you -
10.1.3 problem with extensions.
C:\jdev\1013p\jdev\lib\ext\bc4j_junit_addin.jar!\meta-inf\jdev-ext.xml
I have general problem with extensions in the new developer preview.
At start up time, they all give error messages like this.
Error: <Line 3, Column 21>: XML-24534: (Error) Element 'feature' not expected.
Error: <Line 22, Column 14>: XML-24521: (Error) Element not completed: 'extensions'
C:\jdev\1013p\jdev\lib\ext\junit_addin.jar!\meta-inf\jdev-ext.xml
Error: <Line 3, Column 21>: XML-24534: (Error) Element 'feature' not expected.
Error: <Line 66, Column 14>: XML-24521: (Error) Element not completed: 'extensions'
JDeveloper starts OK, but the extensions don't work properly. JUnit appears in the New... menu, but doesn't display any sub-items. Jalopy (the newest one) appears in the preferences page, but causes the code editor context menu not to display.
I've run jdev.exe but there are no additional messages in the console window.
Windows XP SP2 Pentum M, 1GB RAMHi Jim,
Are you dropping 9.0.5 extensions into 10.1.3? You need to get 10.1.3 compatible extensions. Also, there are now two separate locations for extensions:
${jdev.home}/jdev/lib/ext : for "backward compatible" jdeveloper extensions (extensions from 9.0.5 and prior will probably work if dropped here, but may be affected by API changes... usually those extensions will need to be recompiled against the 10.1.3 extension API)
${jdev.home}/jdev/extensions : for new JSR-198 compliant extensions.
For JUnit, it's best to either install using Help->Check for Updates..., or download the 10.1.3 zip files manually and extract them into ${jdev.home}/jdev/extensions. The bc4j junit extension will not work in the 10.1.3 preview, because there is no ADF.
Thanks,

How come that I can't install muse-add-on with extension manager?
I downloaded an add-on for adobe muse. I could not add it via library panel. In creative cloud I tried to mark 'sync files' on, but for some reason that I don't understand it jumps allways back to 'sync files off'. So I tried to add the add-on with extension manager. Here I get the message: see screenshot. I wonder also why adobe muse is not in the product list of extension manager?
thanks for help1. Extension Manager doesn't support Muse.
2. If the add-on file you downloaded is a ZXP file, you have to use the latest version of Extension Manager CC. -
Cant install any extension for Dreamweaver with Extension Manager
I have installed dreamweaver cs6 but when i tried to install extension it says "This extension can not be installed, it requires Dreamweaver version 13 or greater.
You can only install extensions for DW CS5 with Extension Manager CS5. But this extension has declared it only supports CC or higher. So you can’t install it for DW CS5.

Problem using extension manager CS5 with command line
Hi All,
I had posted my question here : http://forums.adobe.com/message/4695419#4695419, but was advised to do so here as well..
I have a requirement to get the path of all the installed Extension Managers on any Windows system for the purpose of installing an extension.. I thought, there would be no problem in getting the path from the registry. There was no problem in Win XP, but the same does not work for Win 7.. I googled, and found alternate ways to get the path.
Here is the link : http://forums.adobe.com/thread/851359. I followed the instructions in this post, but failed to get this working for CS5 as mentioned in my previous thread... No problem for CS5.1 and CS6.. Why is that?
I want to get this working for CS5, CS5.1, CS6... How can I get the path of all the Extension Manager versions installed on a Windows system?
Please refer to the following screenshots to get a better understanding of my problem,
I created a jsx file named "Result.jsx", which I saved in my D drive, with the following code,
resultFile = new File("D:/result.log");
resultFile.open("w");
resultFile.write(BridgeTalk.__diagnostics__);
resultFile.close();
If I run this directly from ESTK CS5, there is no problem, and I get the result.log file. I tried to execute this script via command line as shown in the screenshot,
On executing the above, I got the following error,
What is going wrong?
Please help!I am sorry for the poor documentation of Extension Manager which causes you so much trouble.
1. You can use BridgeTalk API to ask specific version of Extension Manager to do something. There is sample in packaging_extension.pdf about this. You don't need to know the installation path of Extension Manager. One thing to note is that the value of bt.target is version specific, i.e. "exman-5.0", "exman-5.5" send this message to different version of Extension Manager, so you can change this value to install/enable/disable/remove extensions using different version of Extension Manager. More detailed documentation of BridgeTalk can be found by clicking "Help" menu then clicking "Javascript Tools Guide CS5" in "Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit CS5".
2. Specific version of Extension Manager only manage extensions for corresponding version of product. You should use Extension Manager CS5 to install extensions for Photoshop CS5. The reason that the extension you installed for Photoshop CS5.1 using Extension Manager CS5.5 is displayed for Photoshop CS5 in Extension Manager CS5 is that two versions of Photoshop specified the same directory for Extension Manager to manage extensions. This is a defect and will cause some problems if multiple versions of Photoshop co-existed in one machine. But "to find previous (CS5) extension manager and to enable it" should work for you, I guess you use command line to enable it and specify wrong product name (see #3) so that it doesn't work.
3. When using command line, you should specify "product" attribute with the name displayed at the left panel of Extension Manager. So "Photoshop CS5 32" is correct. Remember to enclose it with double quote because of existence of space character.
4. As above mentioned, use display name of Photoshop, and call proper version of Extension Manager by BridgeTalk. -
Various problems using extension manager with command line
Hello all,
We are installing our plugins to CS4/5/5.1 version of Adobe Photoshop as part of our installer and allow the users to select specific versions of Photoshop to install the panel for. There are a few old problems that I wanted to rant about for quite some while and now with a whole bunch of problems that the 5.1 update introduced I feel I just have to voice them. I will limit it to PC only as it seems to be the most troubled platform
#1 As we cannot install our plugin only by using the Extension Manager (simply because it cannot handle all we've to do upon the installation) we have to run commands from within the our installer, non-interactively, of course.
The interface to command line installation is xmancommand.exe (or "Extension manager (Version). exe" - not sure whether it makes any difference. ). Now the first question is how to find this executable on the target machine, from an installer. Users may specify different locations to install the Creative Suite and it certainly does NOT have to be C:\Program Files\...(or %PRGRAMFILES% in general). ATM we are using an odd place in the registry to to find the path to the most recent Extension Manager but first its sometimes overwritten by another installation and in any case it only shows ONE version of the extension manager which of course cannot handle other versions (see #2)
#2 Why the most recent version of Adobe Extension Manager (5.5) cannot install the extension for 5.0? Well, install it actually does, however its disabled for CS5 and it seems that the only way to enable it on this platform is to find previous (CS5) extension manager and to enable it. Oh, actually no - it doesn't work! The only way that I found here working is to find CS5 extension manager first, install the extension there and then use CS5.5 extension manager to enable it. Why do I need both utilities to manage my extensions?!
#3 The program is severely lacking in documentation AND it doesn't produce reasonable output messages, so determining what it can actually support is a puzzle. For example, why "Dreamweaver CS5" is a correct product name and "Photoshop CS5" is not (don't different teams talk to each other)? Ok, lets forget the consistency, but how do I make the utility output the list of all products it supports, in their magic token form that it will actually be understood if passed in in the command line? By trial and error? This menthod btw is also extremely painful: nany times when specifying wrong parameters the program doesn't provide any output and just shrugs "whatever, go figure it yourself"...
#4 Why the only way to enable/disable an extension in Photoshop seems to be using magic "productfamily" keyword that is not even listed on Adobe's help page for command line options (here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/extensionmanager/cs/using/WSB4845EDD-14E5-476a-B749-FF328830D1 4F.html).? E.g. "xmancommand.exe" -suppress -remove product=Photoshop extension=OurExtension" will ALWAYS fail with a lovely "'Photoshop is not supported by Extension Manager CS5.5." error; I've tried "PhotoshopCS5", "Photoshop CS5", "PhotoshopCS5.1" "Photoshop CS5.1", "Photoshop-12" (mentioned in examples section in http://help.adobe.com/en_US/extensionmanager/cs/using/packaging_extension.pdf ) and a whole bunch of other permutations - none seem to work (see #3). Magic "productfamily=Photoshop" does work. But then it only aims the current version ("CS5.1") and I need it to work for CS5 (I'm not even mentioning CS4...."). Would there be any suggestions?
Really, the question is, how do we, third-party developers, are supposed to interact with the command-line utility without knowing where it is, what product names is capable to work with and without being able to target specific platforms (i86 vs x64 anyone (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/672537)? CS5 vs CS5.1 (above)?). I don't know what your test cases are for the command line tool (if any!), but this is simply insane, folks, simply insane.I am sorry for the poor documentation of Extension Manager which causes you so much trouble.

Having troubles with extension manager and new add-on
Hi,
bought a new add-on (never done that before, so it's new to me).
Extension manager CS6 will not load the add-on.
I checked both manager and add-on, both CS6, so it should work.
Updated the manager this morning, which helped a bit, as it is now loading
80%, asking me to accept the disclaimer.
When I do, I get "unexpected error while trying to install".
Then it's loading and installing again. When it's finished there is no new add-on (extension) loaded or to be seen.
Could you help me with this problem, please?
Thanks a lot in advance!
AnneHi Anne, what is the add-on called? What build of Extension Manager do you have installed? Are you on Windows or Mac?

Cannot convert all VOB files from a video
