Problem with external CD player being disabled by itunes installation

Hi,
I'd be grateful if anyone can help with my situation:
- Have got home with black shiny ipod nano.
- it's my first: have never had an ipod or mp3 before
- I'm a neandrathal as far as anything IT - related goes.
- Have followed the instructions and installed itunes. Had hiccups but got there.
- Now .. .. .. I have a problem.
- After the installation, my computer will not recognise nor allow me to use my external CD / DVD ROM. (I have a Dell latitude with an external CD connected by a cable).
- After digging, I find that the drivers for the CD are not working.
- I've uninstalled those drivers and reinstalled them and still I can't use my CD player. Under 'My computer' I can't even see my CD player under the D drive.
- I know it should be working because .. .. .. if I boot up my computer with the CD disconnected, my computer then recognises the new hardware when I connect it.
- However, after recognising it wants me to restart the computer. After the restart .. .. hey presto .. .. the cd isn't "there" and I can't use it.
- This was all fine before itunes (and the other installation) was installed, so I know it's related to my new ipod.
Can anyone help ?

I'm afraid I've already tried re-installing itunes and re-installing the drivers. Even after reinstalling the drivers, I am still getting an 'error 31' message. Upon tracking that down, it advices that it is because the drivers aren't working.
I am pretty sure the problem is related to the installation of itunes and my new ipod. I've had the cd player (it came wiht the the computer) for a long time. The only time it has stopped working was immediately after the itunes installation.
If you have any other ideas to try, I would be very grateful.

Problem with Apple TV not being recognised in iTunes

Hi all,
Trying to fix a situation for a family member. I've seen a lot of similar threads here but nothing that solves my problem.
The setup is as follows:
- ATV2 connecting using wifi running latest update
- windows XP desktop running latest iTunes (10.4)
- router is supplied by broadband provider (Rogers)
Initially nothing worked at all. I found two key problems firstly the iTunes account was disabled and secondly we had a whole host of firewalls issues.
These both appear to be resolved and the ATV can happily connect to the iTunes account and stream music video and photos.
The problem is that the ATV won't appear in iTunes. When the ATV is connected there is no "Apple TV" tab in the preferences settings (which their should be) and the ATV won't appear under the devices section either.
If I try to quit iTunes it warns me that an Apple TV is connected but even then it wont appear anywhere.
This happens with the firewalls completely disabled and after many, many reboots of everything.
Any ideas on how to resolve this?

The Apple TV 2 doesn't appear either under devices or in the preferences, only the Apple TV 1 did that.
The only place you'll see it in iTunes is under the list of Airplay devices.

Educational software suffers from having been written many years ago, but the financial market is not such to give the publisher much incentive to update the software.
The problem for you is that Top Notch 2 with ActiveBook was written and released by Pearson back when Macs utilized the PowerPC CPU platform. In 2006, Apple migrated the Macs to Intel CPUs, but released their Operating Systems with an invisible translation program, Rosetta, so that the user could continue to use their existing library of PowerPC applications and take time to update them as needed.
The problem arises in that Apple no longer continues to update Rosetta for inclusion in Lion and now Mountain Lion, so that your CD-ROM cannot be executed on your Lion Mac.
Since Pearson looks unlikely to rewrite and release an Intel version of Top Notch 2, you must find a workaround that will play your CD-ROM and allow you to continue utilizing your ActiveBook.
You do not indicate which model of Mac you are using. If you upgraded it to Lion from Snow Leopard, you have these workarounds:
1. Revert to Snow Leopard
2. Partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it. This will allow you to "dual-boot" into Snow Leopard when you need access to run Top Notch 2. You would then have to "dual-boot" back into Lion when you needed access to those features required by Lion.
If you purchased a new Mac that came with Lion, you only have one workaround available to run Top Notch 2:
3. Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels

There is an easier way to run your Top Notch 2 in Parallels if cost is not a significant factor for you. You must purchase Snow Leopard Server from a third party souce, such as eBay, which when sold by Apple was $499 or more. I now see that it can be purchased on eBay for as little as $51. Parallels allows for easy installation of Snow Leopard Server into Parallels.
If cost is a factor, then use the link above the photo to follow my instructions on how to install Snow Leopard client ($19.99 from Apple) into Parallels and achieve the same result.
Lastly, you could purchase a used Mac that will allow Snow Leopard to be the boot OS X installed (wth the optional Rosetta installed). But this seems like an expensive alternative just to run one piece of software; and subject to hardware failure without notice or recourse.

I need your help with my 2 different problems that I am suffring with Adobe Flash Player.
I am having a serious problem with Adobe Flash Player.
I can see via my PC`s "Controlpanel" that I have Adobe Flash Player 11. But I am missing there Adobe Flash Player 11 ACtiveX.
How and where I can find it and then install it?
Lastly, I am using Opera Browser.
There if I go to YouTube to watch any video. When i click to any video then, green background. I can hear voice but soon after whole Opera is freeze.
Soon after video start then its background become green and after few seconds whole Opera browser freez. So I have to restart Opera again.

Problem with Windows Media Player since installing Firefox 4.0

Problems with Window Media Player. When I am using Windows Media Player to view a video from another source I am having problems. When I hit pause and then go back to hit play it does not have any sound. The player is not on mute and it keeps going from pause to play with no sound most times. Please help. Thank-you. My iPod Touch (3rd Gen) is having problems with the touch screen being unresponsive, too responsive, freezing and constantly resizing. It varies between not responding when I tap the screen and acting as if I double-tap or tap and hold when I tap. Every so often it freezes for a minute or so and then comes back. The scren is constantly changing sizes too such that I often can't see most of the top status bar or other edges. This makes typing almost impossible, ruins most games and generally makes everything difficult, but otherwise the iPod is working correctly. Powering off, shutting down apps, letting it sit have not worked. This has happened once before months ago, but the issue resolved itself somehow. Is this a common problem? Is there a fix?

Problems with external context mapping

I am having the following problems with external context mapping from one WD component to another.
Problem description:
In the <i>Component Interfaces</i> I have defined a WD interface "InfA".
In the <i>interface controller</i> of this compoenent,I have ContextA and attributeA(cardinality 1..1).The contextA is marked as an "Input Element".
Now my webdynpro componentB adds InfA as used component.In componentB I decalre a contextB with attributeB and map it to contextA to set up the external context mapping.
Now I expect that if any webdynpro component implements this WD interface InfA ,he has access to contextA with the data getting filled from contextB.
After i have created the component for the used component I try to fill values in the source node contextB thru this code:
wdContext.currentContextB.setB(value);
But in the runtime I keep getting error nullPointerException for nodeContextB,suggesting that the mapping has not been completed.
Can anyone suggest due to what the error can come ,and, if its a webdynpro bug ,is there a workaround??

Valery : I personally checked by doing the example, if the names of value attribute are different in the child's interface and parents component controller then it throws the exception.
Sourav: NullPointer Exception is thrown when something is not properly initialised, if in the main component the cardinality of mapped origin is 1.1 then you need to access it element directly like:
wdContext.currentParentNodeElement().setFname("Abhijeet");
wdContext.currentParentNodeElement().setLname("M");
i will suggest just check out if you are declaring some element of value node and without initialising taking its use or what?
if this doesnt solve your problem, please post the expanded exception.

We upgrade from SRM_SERVER 701 SP 04 to SRM_SERVER 713 SP 02, now we have a problem with external catalog, we did not change anything in standard call structure, however now when the user access to external catalog, select a product and "checkout", SRM returns to shopping cart screen without products and no message are register in log in transaction code SLG1.

we made some test with parameter BYPASS_INB_HANDLER, set as 'X' but this not solve our issue.
We have an implementation in badi BBP_CATALOG_TRANSFER to map product category, even if I set an external breakpoint in this implementation, system does not pass through it, also we test with this implementation inactive and behavior is the same, nothing transfer to shopping cart
Does anyone know what's missing?

Thank you for your answer, but as I told, If I set an external breakpoint it does not stop for debugging, so I can't see table as you recomended. This process (debugging) is familiar to me, in last version I can do it.

I have a problem with external editing preferences where Photoshop will not launch when I choose "Edit In"...

Hi. I have a problem with external editing preferences. If I add Photoshop as an external editor, it won't launch when selected, if I add it as an additional external editor it will. Why? How can I fix this as I need to use Photoshop and another program as the additional external editor.
I use a Mac running OS X (10.8.5) and PS CS4 and LR 5.7. Any ideas on a fix? Thanks in advance.

I don't know why Photoshop won't start. However, it's possible to create external editor presets using the additional external editor tools. There are instructions on how to do this in the Lightroom help. You could assign Photoshop and create one preset, and then assign another program and create another preset.
I don't know if deleting your preferences would fix the problem or not. It can sometimes fix other problems.

When i installed the windows 7 (date: 03.2010) and the other browsers i had used good with flash player and all working good, but after couple months i had problem with IE8 and with Firefox, The Problem is: couple sites i have streaming problem when i trying watch some clip or video (youtube working good) and i have problem with the flash player itself that I can not click on the buttons of Flash Player itself in a number of sites built on Flash, example: facebook - zynga poker aplication. BUT at Chrome browser is worked great with the streaming and with the clicking buttons... so i start using with the Chrome browser... But 3 weeks ago, My Chrome browser start do the same problem like the IE8 and firefox!!!
i tried many things: i Uninstall plash player and install again - nothing!!
i uninstall flash player and install flash player 9 and still - nothing!!
i tought its problem at OS system so install (upgrade) the windows 7 and still - nothing!!
someone can help me with that? I give up and i didnt Enjoy with Flash player like that

Having problems with my music player on my iPad with the new io7

Downloaded the new io7 on my iPad mini. Now I have problems with the music player not letting me download songs onto my iPad, then closing out the app. Then on iTunes it shows up in the downloads tab and comes up as an error and still won't download. At this point I'd rather have the old io6. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

I have a problem with adobe flash player.
It is install but not running

Try a fresh install of Flash after completely uninstalling it using the application Adobe Flash Player Install Manager, in the Utilities folder. Then re-download and install from ww.adobe.com
If you are still having problems you could try installing Google Chrome as it has its own version of Flash built-in and doesn't require the separate installation of Flash.
