Problem with Facetime and my MacBookPro camera

Hello,
I've got a MacBookPro and I have a problem with Facetime and my front camera.
When I have a discussion with an iMac or an other MacBook the image received by the other person becomes fix.
To unfix it I have to put my finger on my camera and then everything is good until the next time, 4 to 10 seconds later I've got the problem again.
Perhaps somebody can help me.
My head on my screen is always good even when the bug appear on my correspondent's screen.
For information, the 2 mac have the same iOS version (OSX Lion) and Facetime version.

Hi Dave,
Edit: Well, I guess I was lost when I posted this. My answer was regarding a problem with OS X, not iOS. I'm going to leave the answer here in case someone else with a Facetime for Mac issue can benefit, because when you're searching for "Facetime AND Login", you could land in any discussion area. -Jerry
Keychain Access.app is in your Utilities folder in your Applications folder.
The path will be: Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access.app.
Keychain is where all your passwords are stored for those applications that you don't want to have to manually log into all the time.
It's a handy app to become familiar with, for instance if you want to look up a password or user name from the past.
Hope this helps you.

  • Is there a problem with FaceTime ,and if so when will it be rectified?

There has been a problem with FaceTime for the last two days. Unfortunately we don't know when it will be fixed.

  • Problems with FaceTime and Time Capsule?

I was wondering if anyone who uses Time Capsule for their WiFi router has ever experienced any problems with FaceTime?  I use that as my router out of state, and when placing calls to my Mom, she has a LinkSys router.  Every time I go to try a FaceTime call, the sound is spotty, and then the call eventually craps out.  However, Skype works just fine.  During a recent visit to her home, I tried a FaceTime call and it worked just fine, which led me to wonder if it had anything to do with us having separate routers, or if it's a strength of the Internet connection signal?  Was just curious if anyone else had similar issues?  Thank you in advance!

Sounds like a Internet connection problem to me, probably too slow.
You can try identifing the more problematic router/Internet connection by FaceTime calling a iPhone on a 3rd Wi-Fi network. If it works from your location but not your mom's, then your mom's router or Internet connection is the problem. You can further narrow it down by switching routers after finding the location that has the problem.
You can check the speed of the Internet connect and make sure the wireless router is updated and configured correctly.
    WTH.

  • Login problems with facetime and Imessage

I have IPAD 2 upgraded to IOS 6.0. I am living at Alexandria EGYPT.
I didn't face any problem with both apps until the 2nd of October 2012. Since then and both apps telling me that Apple ID doesn't match with the entered password. The same password is used for app store and working with no problem, the password have been used even to log in to the support as well as Icloud.
I have tried the following actions with no result:
    1- Soft reset the IPAD.
2- Time is set to automatic.
3- Set the time to USA.
4- Time set back to auto.
5- Connect using different WiFi networks.
I hope I can find a solution, I am using both apps to keep in touch with my family.

I did a total reset and start the IPAD as a new one before restore...same problem exist
after restore try again and with the same problem...
Finally I have created a new apple ID and used it only for facetime and imessages...and it works....
I can't really understand the problem....
It is not a problem with communication or IPAD settings because it worked with another apple ID
it is not a problem with server or account because I am still using my old ID with my macbook

  • IOS 7 problems with FaceTime and messages apps.

Need resolution on why FaceTime and message apps are not accepting my password after loading ios 7.

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
Also try this - Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

  • Problems with facetime and jazztel

I have a lot of problems if i want to activate facetime in my iphone. I have Jazztel (spanish company) and when i want to activate it, i just can do it with my personal email, but when i want to do it with my phone number, i just dont recieve the message. Please, help me with this.

Jazztel is not a supported carrier. Facetime uses a silent SMS message to contact Apple's servers and activate using your phone number. All supported carriers will permit this message to pass and will not charge for it.
If your plan does not include international messaging, then the message will not be able to reach Apple's servers in the UK and activate facetime with your phone number. If you DO have a plan that allows international messaging, you are going to be charged for those messages.
To avoid problems and charges, switch to a supported carrier. There are 4 supported carriers in Spain: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1937?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

  • Problem with iPhone and built in camera

As others have expressed in this forum, I have a similar concern, working at a defense company where cameras are not allowed. As cool as the iPhone is, I would want to show it off to my peers, and it is not worth getting fired for if Security discovers me with it!
I think that getting a "fixed" iPhone without the camera would be good, but doing it yourself or through a third party seems risky to the device and a sure way to void the warranty.
I am wondering about whether this could be done at an Apple Store service center, perhaps under an Applecare plan, or about how an iPhone can be ordered from Apple to meet Defense Department requirements, either without the camera or with the camera demonstrably disabled.
I have read in other posts about people who have had the camera disabled unintentionally. If only we could do this in a way that could be easily demonstrated to a security guard! Perhaps a simple custom application could be developed that could be downloaded and used to disable/enable the camera on demand, maybe with a password for it.
    Anyone have any new ideas?

http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iPhone/ This website should suit your needs. I'm sorry to say that there is no way to get a person from Apple to remove your camera completely, this is the only way, you'll have to take it out yourself. Also, this WILL void your warranty and if it breaks you'll need to get a new one.

Same problem as well as the network failure. Apple Care was suggesting a full reinstall and I declined. I thought it worked once but I can't be sure ... it might have been Skype which works perfectly.

  • TS4185 I have downloaded facetime from the App store and I keep receiving this message - An internal FaceTime error occurred.  There was a problem with FaceTime. You need to quit and open FaceTime again.  Please help!

I have downloaded facetime from the App store and I keep receiving this message - An internal FaceTime error occurred.  There was a problem with FaceTime. You need to quit and open FaceTime again.  Please help!

This error message could result from an incorrect setting for date and time, or an operating system which does not have the latest updates installed.  It's a good idea to have your location setting on automatic.  Turn on the wi fi in your mac for a minute or so, to allow it to automatically search for your present location.  Do this even though you have the correct time Date settings displayed.

  • There was a problem with FaceTime. You need to quit and open FaceTime again.

    HELP!!
"There was a problem with FaceTime. You need to quit and open FaceTime again." pops up everytime i try and open facetime!
I have tried doing everything that people have posted to try and fix this problem...NOTHING has helped!
    what do i do!?!?

I got it to work, by observing and doing the following...
    1) Console showed a permissions error accessing ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.imagent.plist. Turned out that folder was empty and only 'system' had access to write to it, so I set my main user as having read and write access (Get info on the folder, add the user at the bottom under permissions)
    2) Still wouldn't work, but I saw something about imagent. Searched my hard drive via terminal for it, and found that inside the FaceTime app is an imagent.app. So, I launched that. It has no interface but shows up on the Dock.
    3) Launched FaceTime. Yay! It works! BUt I have to launch imagent manually first.
    4) Went back to ~/Library/LaunchAgents and deleted the com.apple.imagent.plist file which was still at 0 bytes. The next time I launched FaceTime, it created that file, and didn't need imagent.app to launch manually.
Your mileage may vary, because you may have different errors.

  • Today whilst using FaceTime on my iPad 2 it went back to the apple logo. I then went onto my iPhone 4S to continue the conversation and a few minutes in it did the same thing. Clearly a problem with FaceTime any advise please.

I then continued the conversation on my iPhone 4S and the same thing happened. Any suggestions?
