3. OS (always burn win -> win, Linux -> Linux,
etc)
I never worry about that. I've burned in Linux and
Windows and taken it across many operating systems
with no problem. One thing to make sure is to
finalize the disc. Some operating systems don't like
the way other apps/operating systems handle
multisession CDs.I mentioned that exclusively in regards of RHEL/OEL's mediacheck test. Nothing else. It doesn't mean that CD itself is invalid and that installation will be impossible. Whenever you burn RHEL ISO images in windows using Nero 6/7, specially at 12x speed, you can expect 2-3 CDs (out of 5) to be "suspicious" and they don't pass mediacheck test. Whenever you burn in Linux using cdrecord at 12x speed, you can expect 1 CD (out of 100) to be "suspicious". That's my experience.

  • Is newer iSync compatible with fifth generation iPod?

I just upgraded from Panther to Snow Leopard and I can't figure out to get iSync to work my 5th gen iPod. iSync doesn't automatically open when I connect the iPod (though it did before), and when I launch iSync and try to add a device, it wants to open Bluetooth. I only use iSync to sync my calendar and contacts from iCal, but I would like to keep this capability. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong??

Those functions are now part of iTunes. Click here for more information.

  • Why doesn't my fifth generation ipod nano work with my Toyota Yaris?

Hello – The charging feature on my new fifth generation ipod nano doesn’t work with the factory glove compartment adapter that came with my 2008 Toyota Yaris. It plays music, etc but does not charge the ipod when connected.
My third generation nano charged perfectly with my yaris until it was run over and crushed recently. My nano gen 5 replacement doesn’t work the same with my Yaris. Can anyone help?

I cannot say for sure, I don't know anything about the toyota yaris. However, if that system was built to work with older firewire based iPods, then it will not charge new USB based units. There are converters out there you can get do deal with this.

I've had my fifth generation ipod nano for about five months now. Nothing has gone wrong with it. the ipod would show up on itunes with no problem. Please disconnect and reconnect the ipod, then try again.
I unplugged and plugged my ipod several times, but nothing was fixed. I even changed the cable and did the same, but still, nothing happened. I tried resetting my ipod and then plugging it in, but nothing was fixed. then i put the ipod on disk mode and THEN tried to see if it would show up, but it still wasnt fixed.

  • Applications crashing on fifth generation iPod Touch?

Hello everyone.  I have a fifth generation iPod Touch that I got last month and every time I use some of the applications, they end up crashing on me, almost every time.  The Weather Channel is one of the programs that frequently crashes.  Why is it doing this?  I have also checked for an operating system update for the device and there is not one.  What could be the problem?

  • Is it possible to just simply sync videos to Fifth generation ipod?

First of all I am new with the ipod, and I am not familiar with this certain issues regarding videos on the ipod"
My question is that do you have to watch videos or TV shows that you download on itunes? Or can you just simply automatically sync the video or TV show to your Fifth Generation ipod without viewing the content my itunes librairy?
Thank who all that can help me.
Windows XP   Windows XP Home Edition (with Service pack 2)

I guss I'm not being clear, but here it goes again....
I click buy on the iTunes Store
It asks for my user name and password
Then it downloads my vid or what not
    Then I sync my iPod
As far as I knew this was standered practice, in other words if you aready have on the computer you bought it on then you don't need to authorize it again unless you trasfer it to another computer.
    Right?!?!
P.S. assuming you agree with me and every one else that buys from iTunes then yes you did say you need to authorize media twice.
The bottom line is that you must authorize your computer in order to transfer purchased videos and music to the iPod.
To do this you need to play a part of the video on your computer. It need only be a few seconds of it.
You can authorize up to 5 different computers.
If you cannot play any purchased videos on a computer, you cannot authorize it.
Authorize when you buy it then as above play it on your computer to authorize it!!!!

  • When will it be avaliable for fifth generation ipods?

I Cant believe this is only for iposd nano, does anybody no when it will be compatable with the fifth generation ipods?

it would take much more than 1000-2000 signatures. this would cost apple money to write the software and whatnot to get it to work on the other iPods so they're not gonna do for such a small amount of people.

Hello. I have a fifth generation iPod Touch and I just downloaded and installed Find My Friends. I have used this program before and I know that I have to tap Me and scroll down to sign out. • Charging Fifth Generation iPod

    Simple question.
After updating iPod through USB, is the correct procedure to eject iPod and turn it off so that the "charging" symbol appears? Or ejecting it and just letting it plugged in? How about just letting it connected after updating? It seems, in my first month that it seems to charge more completely if I eject it and turn it off and let it connected overnight so that the "plug" is shown in the morning.
Mac-Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   1 GB Mem, Pioneer DVR Dual Layer. Black fifth generation iPod

It doesn't matter. Either way, it's eventually going to turn off, if you don't touch it.

  • Do you know of any kids games apps compatible with 2nd generation iPod?

Do you know of any kids games apps compatible with 2nd generation iPod? wanted to put some kids games on but they all say they are not supported by iOS 4.2.1. which is the latest ios it can be updated to. I get the message This app requires openGL ES 2.0 graphics capability. Can you tell me if there are any games I could download for him please?
If there aren't can you tell me if an ipod touch 3rd generation would be able to get alot of the current games like the lego ones and angry birds or which generation I would have to go to.
    Many Thanks

    - These sites allow you to filter searchs for those apps compatible with 4.2.1
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
    - However, some apps currently in th app require a higer iOS version. But, as I posint out in my previous reply, Apple allows yo to downlod the last compatilbe version
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.
I know of no list/seach method to find those apps

  • HT4972 Is the update compatible with 3rd Generation Ipod Touch

Hello Im JS.Is the update compatible with 3rd Generation Ipod Touch. Thank You have a nice day.

    What update?
iOS 5 is compatible with a 3G (as well as 4G) iPod. However, if you are stuck with 4.2.1 that indicates that you really have a 2G iPod. those can only go to 4.1.2. See:
    Identifying iPod models
    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.
