Problem with file downloads - please help

Good morning. Since upgrading to BT Infinity 2, I have been experiencing the following problems:
Cannot update Sonos firmware to version 5 - download times out and gives error 30
Cannot download most files from safari - all start for the first few kb and then just hang
Cannot download larger PDF files from Mac Mail
These problems manifest themselves over wireless and wired connections, with the BT Homehub 5 and an Asus router. My ipad has no problems when on other networks or if I access my email from my work computer. When talking to BT technical support over the chat facility yesterday the connection dropped once every 10-30 seconds before reconnecting again. All of this leads me to believe that I have an intermittent failure on my broadband connection however BT insist that there is nothing wrong with the line or the router. I have changed channels on my router but this does not seem to make things better. Internet is working fine on all my devices for web browsing - only file downloads experiencing problems.
Please help.

Oh sorry, I thought from your description you were using an ASUS connected to the HH5, but it turns out you're using them separately.
Is there a firmware update you can get on the ASUS?

  • I'm still having problems with XUL Runner - please help am getting desperate!

    I recently sought help over a problem I am having with FF. When I try and load it, I get a message telling me that XUL runner 1.9.2.11 is not compatible with 1.9.2.12. The advice I received was to do a clean install. I have done this a number of times - using the Uninstall option in Control Panel as well as running the uninstall utility in the Firefox program folder. Each time I reinstall, and get the same problem. The only difference is that a few days ago I was installing FF 3.6.10, and that gave the error message that XUL runner 1.9.2.11 was not compatible with 1.9.2.10.
    I have FF set as my default browser, so when I click on links in e-mails, etc. I get the same failure to load symptoms. However, I found by chance that FF works OK in conjunction with System Mechanic 10 - a maintenance utility I have on my machine. If I select the on-line help option from that Menu, FF loads and runs OK. I can open new tabs and have no problem loading other pages. However, even with FF open, if I click a link in an e-mail, I get the XUL Runner error message.
    Although not all symptoms are the same, I am also having problems with IE8. When I run the program it loads, shows a 'connecting' message in the tab header, then closes. If I uninstall FF, then System Mechanic selects IE8 as the default browser, and as with FF, loads OK.
    Chrome and Safari both run OK (thankfully). there must be someone out there who knows what this all points to - is that person you?!
    Note: Trouble shooting information retrieved using FF when opened with System Mechanic.

    If you have such problems then you need remove the Firefox program folder before installing a new copy of the full Firefox installer.
    It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

  • Weirdest problem with ipod!PLEASE HELP ME!!!

    Okay, i tried to load a playlist that had about 100 songs on it. While its loading, the update just stops. My ipod starts going crazy.The apple logo keeps lighting up and then the light doesnt come on but the logo is still there. You can hear the inside of it like trying to come on but then it just keeps doing the same thing til the battery life runs out! I really need help on this! I've tried to reset but everytime I do it it just keeps doing the same thing. I dont know if i should wipe all my songs off of itunes or what but im so confused and so aggravated with it. PLEASE HELP ME! I'D REALLY APPRECIATE IT!

    It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
    Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

  • Problem with file download option in ALV via ITS. Please help!

           I have a ALV report which I have web enabled using ITS service. In the ALV there is a delivered functionality for file download. It works fine when the report is run in the SE80. But when I run the ITS service for the report and choose file download option it displays a page saying "this page has been diaplayed due to technical reasons" with title "File properties". In addition it looks for Java runtime in the browser. After all this it opens a popup window for selecting path and file name.
    This is not user friendly and many customers have rasied their concerns on it.
    My question is that,
    Q1: What is the need of this "File properties page"? Why ITS calls this while ABAP editor does not?
    Q2: Is there any way we can suppress this so that it directly opens a popup window for selecting path and file name?
    Please help me.

    We have in between installed patch 22 for ITS 6.20 and SP18 at SAP Netweaver 2004!
    But they are still not processed invisible for the users.
    Are there any additional parameters, which controls this behaviour(~webgui_updown_make_visible is not used!)?
    How can i check, if i have really a.ex. the actual ws.jar-file or other related files of the patch?
    We are using the standalone ITS with an own (modified) IAC with an own CI-design for the webpages. The intermediate screens are displayed with the "normal" SAPGUI-design because of the parameter ~generatedynpro. Without this it does not work, because the template SAPLSIT_0100 is missing!
    Or do you have an example for such a intermediate template with the applet for an upload of a file?

  • Problem With File Download Dialog Box

    Hi all,
    I have jsp page that allows a user to export oracle data to excel.
    I have these code in my page:

    response.setHeader ("Content Disposition",

    I run the page and it popups a file download dialog box with Open and Save buttons.
    When I click the Save button a Save As window opens with a hr.xsl file name and Microsoft Excel Workbook(*.xls) as save type. It is what I want.
    The problem I have is when I click the Open button on the file download dialog box it displays data in excel format on a browser well. Then I click File > save as on browser's tool bar the Save As window pop up with no file name and a default Text(tab delimited)(*.txt).
    I need the file name and Microsoft Excel Workbook(*.xls) as default save type.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I have the same problem with hui_ling.
    When user click on "Open", Excel start and open excel file correctly but the file name on excel title bar. 'Cause the file name is in Japanese characters. Any one can help me?

  • Problem with FIle DownLoad

    I am working on project where I need to display all the files (on the UI screen)which are in  windows folder with a download link.
    I used IWDDownload UI element for  downloading the file. Its working fine but problem is , when ever I download a file for first time its working fine. Later what ever I download other files, I was able to see only first file download. I guess this is problem with context binding but I am not sure.
    I used for loop to iterate all the files in folder and I binded the file name to IWD Download UI element using bindText option.I am creating UI elements dynamically in wdDoModifyView and it will call another method to bind to context.(As SAP Suggested not to modify any context elements in wdDoModifyView method).
    Please help me in this regard.

    Ramesh,
    You need N dynamic binary attributes or IWDResource (in newer versions), one per file. Create them either in wdDoInit of view or in some suitable action handler.
    Then you have to populate IWDResource or set bytes of binary attributes. Check corresponding WD tutorials how to do this.
    In wdDoModifyView create IWDFileDownload control per every attribute and bind either "data" property (to binary attribute) or "resource".

  • Having problems with Frontrow. Please help!

    i've been trying to figure this out all day today but i haven't found any solution. hopefully you Mac Geniuses can help. now, my problem isn't that my videos won't play, because they do. they all play perfectly. okay, so when i launch Frontrow, all my video files appear under their respective folders; my TV Shows appear under the TV Shows folder and my Music Videos appear under the Music Videos folder. however, for some strange reason, these files also want to appear under the Movies folder. That means they're showing up twice! -under the Movies folder and TV Shows/Music Videos. is there anyway to fix this, because it's really cluttering my Movies folder and i admit i'm a really anal neat-freak.
    Also, i have correctly labeled the video files as Movie, TV Show or Music Video under iTunes. Everything is organized well under iTunes, so i doubt it's that.

    It might be because with the new update, it seems as though anything stored in the MOVIES folder , shows up under movies in Front Row. I have a folder of Transformers AVI'S in my movie folder, now it shows up in the movie directory of front row

  • Having problems with USB cable, please HELP!

    While trying to download aim/aol I was having problems with my USB cable and my phone being connected, it was like they were showing they were conneted but when I tried to download aim it said no drivers were recognised. My phone was giving me the option when the USB cable was plugged in asking me if I wantd to do something to do with the media mass storage.
    Anyway, once the drivers were downloaded to my comp and I plugged USB cable into my phone and comp i'm no longer being asked on my blackberry about the mass storage, my phone doesn't seem to be recogniaing tht it's linked up to my computer at all even though it's showing the little plug thing in my blackberry and coming up on the computer.
    Is there anybody out there who can help me?!

  • Problem with long report - please help

    We are using crystal report with ASP.NET/C# (Visual Studio 2005).
    Using Crystal report viewer control on the web page to have previews.
    A particular report is for say 6000 pages. I can not preview the report on the web page.
    I have the following questions:
    1. Does it make sense to think of previewing such a huge report on web page?
    2. What should be the alternate?
    3. I tried "Export to PDF" technique, but it failed.

    I tried to use exportToPDF technique. It works when the number of page is less. But just hangs up when the number of pages is high. I am working on finding the breaking number.
    There is no problem with HD space as well.
    I also tried to print the report to a printer on the server directly. I used the printer as "Adobe PDF" to use Acrobat Distiller to create the PDF. It starts up and asks for the destination for the PDF file also. Once it starts the system shown an error and the Microsoft Feedback Assistant for failed application comes up.
    I am now trying to print the pages to a network printer connected to the server. Shall get back with latest update after sometime.
    Please do look into other possibilities or points where I might have committed an mistake.

    i have one big problem with my OC4J Application Server: i create an instance, then i deployed my appliation with the .ear file. i have 15 page uix. my problem is when i want to see my application from the browser, some of the page run correctly ans some other no; in other world the one that don't run, in reality it run but it display the last one that run correctly.

  • Problem with PWM signal, Please Help!

    Hi all,
    I am designing a PWM signal where its output is going to connect 4 optocouplers to drive a H-bridge MOSFETs. However, I am now having a problem of getting an output signal strong enough to drive the optocoupler.

    I am slightly confused as to whether this is a problem with Multisim or the design of your circuit.  Are the components in Multisim behaving in an unexpected manner in comparison to their real-world counterparts?

  • I'm having multiple problems with Lion.  Please help!

    I downloaded Lion on the first day or release and it has been a very frustrating experience.  Today,  I reinstalled Lion hoping a fresh install would fix my woes but the problems persist. I'm in desperate need of advice and would appreciate any help from the gurus out there!
    I have a 24" iMac with the following specs:
    Problem 1)  Ever since I installed Lion Safari is a nighmare.  Roughly 30% of any given website loads.  Below is a screenshot of www.apple.com:
    Problem 2)  No matter how many times I uncheck "restore windows after closing application" my mac opens EVERY window that was open previously. For example, I do a lot of graphics work and use Preview as my image medium.  Every time I open Preview 100 + images load unless I go through each one of them individually and close each window.  *****. 
    Supposed solution: 
    What Preview looks like each time I open the app:  100+ Images
    Problem 3)  Even with 4 gigs of ram my Ram is constantly ran into the ground ever since the upgrade and my computers performance is in the gutter.  I have to constantly use "MemoryFreer" to free ram which is sometimes down to 14 MB free out of 4 Gigs.

    Yes you are correct, and as the OP did, questions are asked and other users try to answer. As for the poster I answered, he did not ask a question, but expressed extreme disappointment which he is entitled to do, therefore I suggested he have a read through some of the other threads to perhaps address whatever issues he is having. As you say it could be faulty RAM or a bad installation, or a hundred things inbetween. That is why you need to hunt down similar symptoms to narrow it down. Or if you are under warranty, let the Apple Store fix it.

  • Activation problems with Cingular. Please help very frustrated

    Ok, here is the deal, I live in Orlando, FL most of the time, but I am in Michigan and I bougt 2 iphones today, that was 1000 bucks, plus 200 in security deposits. I went to cingular, payed the deposit, and now that im at home, i cant register the product. I have been on the phone with cingular suppost getting different reasons why i cant answer but i still want to check it out here. Im getting an address verification problem. The guy is saying that when we payed the sucurity deposit, we put our florida market address on file with the Pre Approved Credit Check Number. THere saying our sim cards are michigan sim cards, and its not letting me register because of the sim cards are not in the same market as the credit check number. I tunes keeps giving me an error of address though. Is anyone receiving this same problem? The error is saying that they cannot verify the address on file, as the address that im typing in, even though it is the same address. We tried changing everything to michigan, and still got the same problem. We changed the address on the credit check number, and the address that im trying to register in michigan.

    You can only imagine that im upset not being able to even power the thing up. It wont let you go past the emergency call feature since its not activated.

    Heres what you have to do Rodd...I used to be a RSM for Cingular.
    First you need to cancel your first activation because your sim cards have been set up with activation in Michigan you will get a Michigan area code, prefix, etc. If you did not set it up with the exact are that you paid the deposit in, then you will not be able to activate it.
    Ex: if I live in Texas, but want a California number, I have to go to Cali and set up my account, and then come back to Texas and I will have my Cali number while living in Texas.
    If you tried to set it up wrong to many times it flags your account.
    Either go back to the store you got them in and pay the security deposit again, or go to the closest ATT store in the area you would like to have your area code, prefix, etc. in.
    Example: if you want a Michigan number, then go to Michigan..and set up your account all in the same place that you want your number....Billing addresses can be different but the activation address will be where the iPhone number is given from.
