Problem with file transfer over the net

Hi!I'm trying to make a program that allows to send/receive files and I'm almost done,except for a little problem:the file received has some bytes missing at the end!
For example if I send a text the last 2-3 lines are missing,same thing for an image,an html document,etc.,although the file opens without any problem.As transport-level protocol I'm using TCP so it's not a networking problem,I think the problem is in the application layer so I post here the code,hoping someone helps me out(in this example I'm trying to send an image .jpg):
Sender:
Socket connectionSocket=new Socket("ipadress",port);
FileInputStream source=new FileInputStream(System.getProperty("user.home")+"\\Documents\\image.jpg");
BufferedOutputStream send=new BufferedOutputStream(connectionSocket.getOutputStream());
int c;
while ((c = source.read()) !=-1)
                send.write(c1);
Receiver
ServerSocket receiverSocket=new ServerSocket(port);
Socket  connection=receiverSocket.accept();
BufferedInputStream rec=new BufferedInputStream(connection.getInputStream());
FileOutputStream receivedFile=new FileOutputStream(System.getProperty("user.dir")+"\\received.jpg");
int c;
while ((c = rec.read()) != -1)
                receivedFile.write(c);I think the problem is in this code:somehow the sender stops sending bytes before the end of the file is actually reached...what do u think?

Thank you so much!At the end it was a very stupid mistake!:D
Btw now that the main problem is solved I continue posting asking for your opinion:is this program for you efficient enough?Or there's a better way to do file transfer?

    Problems with File Transfers Over Firewire 800.
    Over the past month, I have had problems when transfering files from my harddrive, over Firewire 800 to a portable drive. I usually transfer very large files (20gb or more) to the portable drives for moving files around. When I drag a file over to copy onto a drive, the transfer starts normally. If I drag more files to copy over, the computer screen goes darker and a large icon comes up that looks like a power button icon. It tells me to restart, so I have to do a hard shut down on my G5. Weird. I also get the dark screen of death sometimes when I am transfering those large files and open another application to do some work while it's copying. It's killing me. I am having to sit here and wait for the transfer to finish before I can do anything.
    Any thoughts...

    Have you run the Apple Hardware Test? Sounds like it could be a RAM problem.

  • Problem with file transfer via wi-fi!

    Hi, folks,
    Please, could someone help me to get a music file I made using Groovemaker app?
    After finish the mix, I built a song. Then, I saved it in the "mix browser".
    In the end of the exporting process, I typed the URL address displayed in the browser (http://192.168.0.188:5555/, on Firefox, Chrome and IE), but something gone wrong and, every time I export the same song - it's my first exporting action - I got a message such "The page hasn't loaded... limit time reached".
    What's the problem with my wi-fi connection? Should I set something in my router? According to the company website (http://www.groovemaker.com/gmiphone/features/) this kind of wi-fi file transfer is easy, but not to me...
    Thanks in advance!
    Alex

    What type of errors is being generated? Are you trying to save that file on device memory or media card? try moving that file on media card.

    Regards,

    Hi, thank you for your replies, I found out few things about my servlet, and its portability
    and i have few questions, although i marked this topic as answered i guess its ok to post
    I am using javax.servlet.context.tempdir to store my files in that servletcontext temporary directory. But i dont know how to give hyperlink
    of the modified files to the user for them to download the modified files.
    What i am using to get the tempdir i will paste
    File baseurl = (File)this.getServletContext().getAttribute("javax.servlet.context.tempdir");
    System.out.println(baseurl);
    baseurl = new File(baseurl.getAbsolutePath()+File.separator+"temp"+File.separator+"files");
    baseurl.mkdirs();so i am storing my files in that temp/files folder and the servlet processes them and modifies them, then how to present them as
    links to the user for download ?
    and as the servlet is multithreaded by nature, if my servlet gets 2 different requests with same file names, i guess one of them will be overwritten
    And i want to create unique directory for each request made to the servlet , so file names dont clash.
    one another thing is that i want my servlet to be executed by my <form action> only, I dont want the user to simply type url and trigger the servlet
    Reply A.S.A.P. please..
    Thanks and regards,

  • Problem with drawing Swingcomponents over the Videocomponent

    Hi there,
    I'm trying to draw a simple Swingcomponent over a running video - I read in the Forums for days - nothing helped. I don't know why it still don't work.
    LIGHTWEIGHT_RENDERER is already used
    JLayeredPane is already used
    Please help me - I don't what I can do anyway

                   this.setVisible(true);
         public static void main(String args[]){
              MyFirstJMFApp jmf = new MyFirstJMFApp();
    }

    Hi there,
    I solved the problem by myself :-)
    I read the API-Documentation again and again until I recognized the little "try" in "JMF trys to create a lightweigt Component". So I tried some other videos and realized - this Code is definitly working if JMF is able to create a lightweigth Component. In some cases I saw the red text - in other cases not.
    Good luck, if you have the same problem like I got ;-)

  • Problems with file transfer to application server

    Hi Experts,
        am using sap 4.0 version. Now i want to transfer data to application sever in csv format.
    I have doubt, since 4.0 is not a unicode check then how can we handle text while transferring to application server.
    how we find the text is double bit or single bit? how can i convert this and download to al11.

    Hi
    If you want to transfer the file to App Server through a custom Program, then you need to use
    V_FILENAME = Complete path with filename.
    Open dataset V_FILENAME FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.
    if sy-subrc EQ 0.
    loop at itab into watab.
    move watab to V_String.
    transfer V_String to V_FILENAME
    endloop.
    endif.
    If you want to transfer the file to App Server manually then use the transaction.

    If you want to get the file from App Server through a custom Program, then you need to use
    Open dataset V_FILENAME FOR INPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.
    if SY-SUBRC EQ 0.
    DO.
    Read dataset V_FILENAME INTO V_STRING.
    if sy-subrc ne 0.
    exit.
    endif.
    Move this V_string to Wa
    append wa to itab
    enddo.
    endif.
    If you want to Copy the file from App Server manually then use the transaction.
    CG3Y
    If you want to append the file , then first find out if the file is present in the asked location or not.
    Call the FM to List all the Files in the directory - 'RZL_READ_DIR_LOCAL' and store the data in an internal table
    Search this internal table to see if the file already exists.
    if it is present use
    OPEN dataset V_FILENAME in text mode for appending.
    if sy-subrc EQ 0.
    loop at itab into watab.
    move watab to V_String.
    transfer V_String to V_FILENAME
    endloop.
    endif.
    Do not forget to CLOSE DATEST after opening it.

  • Problem with file transfer - Zen To

    Hi,
    For no apparent reason, I can no longer transfer files to my Zen Touch (20GB). Last night I was putting a few albums on no problem, and then all of a sudden it wouldn't work. I tried again just now but the same thing keeps happening. Here is the error message I am gettting:
    "Unable to create file
    Restart player and try again"
    I am certain that the player is connected correctly and it displays the usual "docked" message on screen. Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how to fix it's
    Much appreciated,
    Ross

    <FONT face=Century>I've experienced this a few times and the only conclusion I've been able to come to is that the connection of some sort goes after a while if you are doing other things on the computer (whether you are doing stuff online or otherwise).
    <FONT face=Century>Whenever this happens, I have to actually switch off the computer and reboot again and this 99% of the time resolves it.
    <FONT face=Century>If I just use the programme/computer to 'rip' songs and nothing else, I never have had any problems which is why I think the programme doesn't like the computer doing too many other things at the same time.
    <FONT face=Century>This works for me anyway. Hope it does for you.

  • XML file transfer over the web

    A company is sending us an XML file via push technology and visual basic:
    'Set up to post to client server
    objHTTP.Open "post", “http://someURL.company.com”,
    'Set a standard XML header for the content-type
    objHTTP.setRequestHeader "Content-Type", "text/xml"
    'Send the XML.
    objHTTP.send cXML
    'Get the return message
    cClientReturn = objHTTP.responseText
    nStatus = objHTTP.Status
    cStatusText = objHTTP.statusText
    What is the best way to receive the XML from our company's end. We want to use PL/SQL code? Is Advanced Queuing a possible solution. What is the most eficient and straightforward solution?
    Thanks,
    JD

    It depends on the # of concurrent requests and what you plan to do with the doc.
    Two choices:
    1) Use XMLDB HTTP server: leverages XML DB data management (straight-forward and simple)
    2) Use OracleAQServlet: provides asynchronous message queuing

  • Error while opening pdf in reader in windows 8:Can't open this file. There's a problem with file format

    I have a problem with a pdf file which does not open with reader in windows 8 but it opens properly with adobe pdf reader. All other pdf can be opened in reader.But when i open a pdf(see this link for pdf for which i got error http://incometaxsoft.com/temp/Form.pdf)
    it gives error as "Can't open this file. There's a problem with file format".
    The same file opens properly in adobe pdf reader.You can check the pdf file which i have mentioned in the link above.But the reader which comes with windows 8 can open some other pdf in the same PC.What may be the error causing this??

    This has turned out to be an enormous issue for me as I sell PDF files as ebooks. I have done a fair amount of investigating this for my system.
    My files have to be compatible not just across readers but across operating systems.
    To date, I have over 200 PDFs that have functioned flawlessly across Mac, PC (Windows 7 and below), Android, iPhone/iPad, Linux.
    I personally test my PDFs using a variety of readers and PDF editors including
    PDF XChange (my favorite)
    Foxit (runner up for me and I recommend for most people)
    Adobe (the bloated monster)
    Nitro 9 (great for moving graphical elements around)
    ABBYY
    And the Nuance PDF Create toolsets
    Those are off the top of my head. There are a bunch on Android that I test with too.
    I am running the Windows 10 Pro Tech Preview and I have this same problem so I know it isn't fixed yet in any kind of pre-release way (-sigh-)
    Here is what I've learned for my situation
    The PDFs I created using NUANCE'S PDF CREATE PROFESSIONAL VERSION 8
    all fail using the built-in Windows 8/10 PDF reader.
    When I look at the PDF properties for these Nuance created files, the underlying engine used to write them is called "ImageToPDF". Using ABBYY it indicates their own engine as does everyone else that I've tried. It is easy for you to check to see
    what created your PDF by doing a "Control D" (look at the document properties). Perhaps there's a common engine causing issues.
    If I use the exact same source files to create a PDF using any of my other tools I have no issues. I checked the PDF versions made by the tools and they are all set to 1.5.
    A customer mentioned being able to convert them in a way they worked by saving them without having to do any kind of extraction, but I have not been able to duplicate that. Perhaps he did a "print" which seems like it could work.
    In summary, the workaround everyone is talking about, using an alternate reader, of course works. But not everyone wants to change.
     The culprit I have found is my Nuance PDF Creation tools that are using the ImageToPDF engine.
    I hope it gets FIXED as I really don't want to have to regenerate all of my PDF files.

  • Newbie : memory problem with file uploading

    Hello
    I'm exdending a web app based on jsf and , being new to it and java in general, i'm having a problem with file uploading.
    The customer needs to upload large file (more than 30 MB). The application accomplish this using a fileupload component, to let the user select the file, and passing the array of bytes to a web service method.
    I'm using netbeans 6, tomcat 5.5.
    When i try to upload a file too large i got an outofmemory on the local tomcat. So i've rised jvm memory and going on with tests i've found that growing the size i got an http 500 error from the service (the developer of the service has found an out of memory too ).
    I think the service is not modifiable, so i were asking if threre were a way to optimize the file uploading process (a component, a library, a pattern ...) or my only chioice is to rise available memory on both sides.
    I've notice the wsdl declares as base64binary type the data parameter , while netbeans 6 generates a client proxy with a byte[] parameter. Is correct or is a netbeans problem?
    searching with google i've found few thing i haven't fully understood due to my lack of experience:
    the mtom , how can evaluate if it's suitable to help in my problem (i suppose it involves more the web service rather than the client)
    something about the size of a soap body.
    thank you in advance
    Stefano

    Which component exactly are you using? Declaring the stream as a raw byte[] is certainly not efficient. Write code yourself, don't let it autogenerate.
    I can highly recommend you the Tomahawk t:inputFileUpload component. It is easy to integrate in Mojarra. You can find here an useful article: [http://balusc.blogspot.com/2008/02/uploading-files-with-jsf.html].

    Never mind, I already found the solution myself.
    What I did wrong was:
    - not copying the master image to the nbi folder
    - selecting the netinstall-restore.dmg image as source to copy to my HD.
    The thing is, when you create a netinstall image for 10.5, the image itself is already included in the netinstall image so you don't have to do anything else.
    With the 10.4 image however, you also have to copy the master image to the NetBootSP0 directory.
    In the *.nbi folder contains an netinstall-restore.dmg file. But that is only to boot you to netrestore, it's not the image itself.
    Other alternative is to copy the images to another folder that you share with AFP and adjust the configuration of netrestore like described in this manual:
    http://www.shellharbourd.det.nsw.edu.au/pdf/misc/osxrestoringnet.pdf
    This manual was also how I figured out that I forgot to copy the image to the NetBootSP0 folder.
