Problem with first Podcast Episode (pulling in streaming info) powerpress.

Hi All,
I am new here, sorry for the dumb question. I am using wordpress and a plugin called Powerpress. This has generated a feed for my podcast. The problem is that it's picking up the flash as the actual podcast file, take a look here:

In the description, you see the confusion.
*My question is this. Am I going to have to:*
1. Do nothing as once the feed is corrected, the file will update.
2. Ask iTunes to take the feed down.
3. Re-submit the feed to iTunes.
I am a little slow, I know!

Both episodes are there and the podcast can be subscribed to: everything is working correctly.

Here's My Problem With the Podcasts App

So, here's my problem with the Podcasts app on my iPhone 5 - it relies too heavily on streaming and not enough on downloading and syncing. For most of my 8 hrs at work each day I am out of contact with my wireless carrier. And the hospitals IT dept has chosen to block whatever port the Podcasts app uses to stream content. So nothing over Wi-Fi either.
As a result, all podcasts must being fully downloaded and ready to listen to prior to leaving for work. Unfortunately, even after fiddling with various settings in the app, I can't seem to get content to stick in the app. There are plenty of Unplayed episodes, but when I'm ready to listen, they're not really there and must be re-downloaded or streamed.
Here's what I am going to try:
• iTunes will continue do all of the downloading and syncing of podcasts to my iPhone
• In each Podcast on the iPhone I have Subscribe "ON" and Auto-Download "OFF"
I'm going to try this setup for a few days and see if it resolves my issue. Would appreciate any other observations and suggestions you might have. Cheers!

Simple really:
Delete the Podcasts app from your iPhone.
Restart your iPhone.
Continue managing your podcasts from iTunes, like you did under iOS 5.
After restarting your phone, Podcasts will play via the Music app on your phone again.

Problems with first time setup

Hi to all and please be kind to this new applee. I am vary familar with Windows but not Apple.
I am having problems with first time setup. Choice wifi network ZAJ34 has full connectino bars but requires a password to connect with it. Tried to use "Connect to iTunes" and plugged in the USB cable. Windows7 ran ok and "MyComputer\Apple iPod" shows up in Explorer. All I get to is the screen that shows the cable pointing to the music symbol. I am new to Applie iPod so I am totally lost. I have the Apple iPod touch 8GB Black (4th Generation) CURRENT MODEL.
Operating System - iPod touch User Guide (For iOS 5.1 Software) downloaded, not sure.

Before restoring:
Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes. [How? I am not past selecting a network.]
Back up your device. [Do not know how, again, I am not past selecting a network.]
Transfer and sync content to your computer. [Hooked up the USB cable and nothing happens.]
Restoring your iOS device
Connect your device to your computer. [Hooked up the USB cable and nothing happens.]
Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices. Select the Summary tab, and click the Restore button. [iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices, is it in Control Panel. I looked in Device Manager and so only drivers etc.

I synced my iPhone 5s (running v 7.1.1) to my late 2010 MacBook Pro 13" (OSX 10.9.4) using iTunes (can't remember exactly which version of iTunes, but whatever was the latest around the end of May 2014).
Subsequently, I upgraded my iPhone 5s to v 7.1.2 and also upgraded iTunes to 11.3.1 (2), then synced my 5s to my MacBook Pro.
Following this, on both my iPhone and on my Mac (I don't use iCloud), many of my Contact details had reverted to a much older version, and most of the information under the "notes" field in each contact was missing.
Is there a way to revert to the prior version of iTunes (7.1.1) or otherwise restore this missing information? There is critical information in my Contacts that has now ceased to exist!

Often in upgrading the OS, QT or FCP for some odd reason QT will get knocked slightly off kilter. Before doing the step back to 6.5.2, try a complete QT reinstall.
This is how:
Go to /library/receipts and delete any files that say Quicktime followed by a number e.g. Quicktime703.pkg
Go to the Apple quicktime site and download the appropriate version of Quicktime to your hard drive.
Run the Quicktime installer.
Repair Disk Permissions for your System Disk (Disk Utility > Select the system disk > Repair Disk Permissions)
Reboot
FWIW, FCP4.5 can run without issue under 10.4.x and QT7, but it is VERY stable under 10.3.9 and QT6.5.2.

Hello! i am trying to submit my podcast feed into itunes but get "we had difficulty downloading episodes from your feed". I'm using the soundcloud podcasting beta, and i've tried almost every thing. Also when i try to test my feed by subscribing to it first, everything works except the episode wont play. any help?

This is because you have the URL for the media files incorrect. The top episode's file is given as

If you look at it you will see that it is plainly wrong - you have http in twice. The correct URL is
http://feeds.soundcloud.com/stream/196914893-behindthereels-ep2-everything-bethe sdawav.mp3
and the same process applies with the other episode.

First podcast episode missing from search

Newbie here...
iTunes is missing my first episode 'Beginning'. When I first submitted the show it showed up fine. If you subscribe to the show you get the first episode but if you just search for the show (The QuoteSpoke Podcast) it is missing the first episode. Any advice is appreciated. Under neath the list of episodes, the Store says '4 items'. I'm afraid you've fallen over a long-standing intermittent bug in the Store which does this sort of thing. It's not a problem with your feed, and there isn't anything you can do about it. It will probably sort itself out in a few days.

Do you do any kind of sync'ing between your iPhone and iTunes on your computer? There seem to be a number of major bugs in Apple's code (either in in the Podcasts app, or in iTunes, or in Apples server-side code, or some combination of the three). Many people are having this issue. In fact, it's hard to believe that anyone isn't, if they're sync'ing their iPhone with iTunes.

If I don't sync my phone with iTunes, this particular problem doesn't show up (although there are still other sync'ing bugs that do show up).

Problems with my podcast updating on Podcast App.

Hi folks.
My podcast What It Is, updates on iTunes very quickly after we post it on our wordpress blog. However, we are having some major issues with the podcast on the podcast app.
-The episodes do not update on the podcast app. You need to go to the search function, search the show and then download the new episode. The auto download and updates DO NOT work for our subscribers.
-The names of the episodes do not appear on the Podcast app, as well. It just says 'whatitispodcast' for every epsiode when viewing the show in the podcast app. It is also showing the relase date of every episode as 2011-12-31
Should I send an email to iTunes support or is there a problem I can fix?

Please help I have problems with songs,podcasts,and just general media play

hey guys, I'll get straight into it. My problem is that many of the songs and podcasts in my library come up with the little exclamation mark when I havn't changed anything or deleted anything, so I have to find the original files, which occasisionally just dissapear for no apparent reason. Also I have problems with d/l podcasts as sometimes it wont d/l the newest edition etc but comes up with the little '!' mark. I have just upgraded to iTunes 7 and although the problem was occuring before the upgrade just aggravated it, and messed up my library files causing me to revert to an older library.
Now last and most importantly, my audio has suddenly become choppy since I upgraded. This is similar to the problem I have with the sound in Quicktime only working properly if I keep all other apps and tasks to a bare minimum (even if they take up barely any system resources). This seems strange as my system is not exactly poor performance.

If you right click a file, and do getinfo on the summary page this will give a file location, is this matching the file location on your hard disk? If not that might explain the exclamation marks?

Problem with a TV episode

ok so I Downloaded Heroes Episode "Cold Wars" and it stops 10 mins before the end? i Reported the problem but all i got was an email back saying you cant have a refund?? I don't want a refund i want to redownload the episode i payed for as its not complete? need help on what to do as i cant report the problem again?

Try reporting the problem again, this time through the form linked from the bottom of their web page. Sometimes a customer service rep doesn't fully read or correctly understand a problem the first time, so it may take a second contact and careful explanation so they clearly understand the issue.

Problems with unheard podcast playlists in iTunes 10.X

I listen to a lot of podcasts and, as such, I have a smart playlist for them called "unheard of" which selects out everything of:
*Type = podcast* and
*Play count < 1*
This has had issues over the years, but right now the problem is that periodically it stops populating. I get new podcasts, but they don't go into the list. This usually gets resolved if I restart iTunes, but that brings me to the next issue…
1. When I run into problems with iTunes and try to restart it, often it won't restart. The window goes away, but the dock icon indicates Application not responding. I've let this sit overnight sometimes, but the result is always the same — I must +force quit+ it. It feels like these two things are related.

On a related note, why is the default setting for podcasts to have *Skip when shuffling = yes*? There appears to be no way to change this default behaviour and this means I have to go in and select all my podcasts before I sync my iPhone and change this value. I don't even see to see any way to access this via AppleScript or I'd change it that way. The worst is that this seems an entirely arbitrary setting to begin with. What is the benefit?
Oh, and I'm running the latest of everything, including OS X 10.6.5 and iTunes 10.1.

This is still not resolved and I seem to find that if I put my machine to sleep and then wake it from sleep, the playlist problem appears and iTunes will hang (stops responding) if I try to shut it down. Can anyone help me?

Satellite P775-100 3D: Problem with first initialization of the 3D function

I have a problem with my new Toshiba Satellite Notebook P775-100 3D.
Wenn I start the 3D wizard for the first 3D using, then disappears the mouse coursor from screen.
The mouse works but is not visible. Sometimes by trying can to find the button "continue" or a checkbox.
Unfortunately, I can not get the wizard with nonvisible mouse cursor until to the end.
The Keys e.g. TAB, Coursor-keys etc. from Keyboard helps not more.
Please has anyone a Idee for the solution of my problem?

У меня проблема с удалением подкастов с моего iPod Touch (версия прошивки 2.2, iTunes 8.0.2.20)
Некоторое время назад я скачал через сам Ipod некоторые подкасты, в другое время с компа, после все синхронизировал и все уровнялось (переписалось недостающее туда и обратно). Сегодня я хотел все удалить и в настройках синхронизации моего iPod я просто снял галочку синхронизации и применил. После все плейлисты касательно подкастов были очищены, а вот сами файлы остались, т.к. в первую очередь суммируя то что у меня должно было быть и что было разница была в 3 гига.
С помощью SharePod решил проверить действительно ли так то что я думаю и оказалось что он увидел эти файлы, которые должны были быть удалены, но т.к. версия базы данных иная чем то что он может понимать программа, удалить я их не могу. Прошу помочь.

Some time ago, through the iPod Touch I downloaded some podcasts, at other times from the computer, after all synchronized (rewritten podcasts from my computer and ipod). Today I want to delete everything and in sync to my iPod settings, I took a tick synchronization and applied. After all the playlists from podcast has been cleared, but the files themselves remain as the free space was at 3 Gb fewer regulations.
Using SharePod checked their version and proved that SharePod saw no deleted files to be erased, but because version of the database other than the fact that he could understand the program, I can not remove them. Please help.

You can only sync with one computer. I would backup to one computer and then restore from backup.

I'm having problems with my new podcast. It's already been approved and release and when I look at it on the iTunes Music Store I can listen to my mp3 file without a problem but when I subscribe to it my podcast list doesn't show any files!!! Please help!

Okay, I took a look at your podcast (in the Store . . . then I subscribed to it . . . then I looked at it in a browser). Anyway . . .
The reason your podcast doesn't work when subscribed-to is that you have some bad code in your rss file. Here is the run-down from Feed Validator.
The highlights are: 1) you have a "bad" (unsupported) character in your <copyright> tag; 2) the <itunes:description> tag only goes under the <item> level, and shouldn't be under <channel>; 3)you have two <pubDate> tags, and instead of "6 May", you need to have "06 May"; 4) you have too many keywords in your <itunes:keywords> tag; 5) you are missing the <itunes:explict> tag.
Those are a lot of things for you to fix - and the reason I list them is that I want you to understand what is/was wrong with your feed. But since it is quite a bit, I went through and edited your code:

Problem with Video Podcasts

Hey, I have been looking at the Video Podcasts recently, wanted to download a couple, but everytime I try, nothing. Regular Podcasts are okay, but I like to see what the BBC is talking about. Oh, I have the Nano 3G 8GB. I think that is how I should write it.

I doubt its an outright glitch, I'm sure its designed this way as an oversight.
i.e. The iPod app assumes that Podcasts are audio, and that any 'Podcast' that is video will be accessed through the 'Video' button.
I know that this is a point of contention for me, since I have both audio and video podcasts that I listen/watch through the 'Podcasts' section of iTunes, so I figure I would do the same on the iPhone. (I don't have a video iPod, so I don't know how it works on there.) I have a few TV shows synced to my iPhone, as well as a movie, and all of my music videos. My Video section is a little cluttered to be constantly needing to scroll to the bottom of the video list for my latest video podcast episodes, when there is a perfectly good 'Podcasts' button to be tapped!
I must say that I do like the fact that you can play music videos as if they were just songs in the music section, though. I have a few songs that I only have as a music video, not as just plain audio, so they wouldn't sync to my 3G iPod or iPod nano. In Front Row on my Mac, I have been able to play them as 'music' in addition to as a video, so I appreciate being able to do that on the go now, too.
