  • Too many problems with Flashplayer / shockwave

    Hi
I have been using FF for years. However especially from this latest version, I have so many bugs with flashplayer / shockwave that I am thinking about moving to chrome........ (I don't want to....!)
All the time, all the day, when I am using weesoo (videoconf), or youtube, or facebook ar anything other site using flash, FF is blocking and I get (from time to time) an error message about flash.
It is a disaster for me. During all the day now, I have to clear the history, run Ccleaner, reboot my computer, trying to fix that problem. I don't have it with Chrome, but I don't want to move to chrome !!!!!
I am a saleswoman, then I am working a lot through videoconf, with several windows and the mails, all open in the same time
My laptop is really clean and uptodate, this does not come from me. I even re-install FF recently.
My plugins of course are updated.
Please find below an example of an error :
    https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/4180546d-e1f1-4cc6-a4f3-bd9552140508
I cannot go on like that. Please help ! I hope you've understood me, I am French... I tried my best to explain in English.
    Thank you for your help...
    Kind regards

<i>Also I don't really think that I have to manually update these device, as the updates are running automatically on my laptop... Thanks </i>
Correct!! You're on Windows 7 so if that's an OEM machine (brand name like HP, Acer, etc) then your drivers should already be updated. Also, Windows Updates handles all of the drivers in their Optional Updates (afaik).
How is Flash doing? Is it still misbehaving or was it fixed after disabling hardware acceleration?

  • Too many problems with flashplayer

I'm getting more and more frustrated with flashplayer. Ever since it it came out with the 11 versions I've had too many crash problems, graphics are jumpy and messy on fb games. I can't stand it! If I downgrade fp, then I can't play certain games as they require the most up to date player. I can't win! Whatever you guys had in the older versions needs to go back to that sort of programing. Whatever got added in simply messed up my crap. If I didn't have to rely on fp so much it would've been long gone by now. That's how angry I am at it.
If you want to know my OS, it's Windows Vista 32 bit. Browser used is Firefox.
P.S. And I did try all the method suggestions through support to see if things would run fine. It's not FF, I know that. I never had any problems with Flash until version 11's came out.

  • Serialization problem with FlashPlayer 10.1

    Hi,
here is a message that I have post in the AS3 section (http://forums.adobe.com/message/2938096), but someone gave the hint that this section should be more appropriate.
A call in remote method, using amf/BlazeDS, is failing for the following reason :
"The expected argument types are  (int, myPackage.MyClassVO[])  but the supplied types were (java.lang.Double, java.lang.Object[]) and converted to (java.lang.Integer, null).
Cannot convert typeflex.messaging.io.amf.ASObject with remote type specified as 'null' toan instance of class myPackage.MyClassVO"
    So the serialization is failing.
MyClassVO have only int variables, so nothing fancy.
The point is that it works perfectly with previous versions of Flash, except 10.1
So the definitions of the VOs are not the problem.
Does any change have been done in the new flash player, with the serialization ? Does someone have also experience serialization problems with this new flash player ?
    Thanks for any help.
    M.
Environment : Windows 32bits (but happens on Mac OS as well)
    Flash version : WIN 10,1,53,64
Browser : Firefox, Opera, IE... they all have the problem

    Hi,
by digging more and more, it appears that the problem is really on flash side.
This error appears on java side :
"Cannot convert type flex.messaging.io.amf.ASObject with remote type specified as 'null' to an instance of class myPackage.MyClassVO
    flex.messaging.io.amf.translator.decoder.DecoderFactory.invalidType(DecoderFact ory.java:369)"
So after a look on the function invalidType in DecoderFactory, it apprears that
    object.getClass().getName();
    returns "flex.messaging.io.amf.ASObject" instead of "myPackage.MyClassVO"
So Java don't recieve the correct type MyClassVO, but ASObject.
And that only in FlashPlayer 10.1, but not FlashPayer 9 or FlashPlayer 10, where Java recieve the correct type, MyClassVO.
Any help will be gladly appreciated, I'm running out of idea !
    Thanks !
    M.

  • Having problems with FlashPlayer in CP5

I have a user base (government) that does not have (nor can they download / install) Flashplayer 10.
They run OK with Flashplayer 8 (FP8).
I cannot seem to get CP5 to allow me to select FP8. The "oldest" version they allow is FP9.
Is there any way to publish in CP5 with FP8???
I have many sites that are calling me this morning complaining that their training won't run!
    eek!

Me again.  Just took a shower before bed and remembered something important.
Not long after Captivate 5 came out there was an issue with CP5 EXE files only playing on the computer that created them.  When transferred to another computer, the same files would not run.
Adobe released a patch for this that required you to change over a file called Fakeflash.exe.  Here is the blog post about it:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/2010/08/unable-to-open-exe-files-published-from-adobe-cap tivate-5.html
If this turns out to resolve your issue, it probably means you should update your Captivate 5 because I think this patch was included in the cumulative update released sometime later.
If this works, the good news is that you have a fix.  The bad news is that your current CDs are alll toast and will need to be done again after you republish all your EXEs after updating Cp5.

  • Is there some underlying problem with FlashPlayer 11,5,502,135 & previous versions?

I, like so many here everyday, all seem to be having the same problem with FP just going to a black screen & not loading the video or sites will try to tell you t download the latest version of FP even though Micromedia.com tells you the latest version is installed.
This problem dosent appear to be version specific as it started with an earlier version but like most I now have 11,5,502,135.
I have followed the suggestions given in detail in this link to Member i.RR but to no avail.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1114473?tstart=0
It would be of interest to see if Member i.RR has had their issue resolved.
As so many seem to be having the identical problem can Adobe create a heading/ticky for this & move related discussions to it maybe - this may stop us all asking the same question over & over as it would seem this problem is not going to be fixed any time soon.
I am in contact with staff who are being quite helpfull & hope to continue this week in trying to sort this for us all.

I, like hunreds of others, havent been able to sort the problem. Whilst I
appreciate each pc setup may be different, this problem appears to be
common across different browsers. It also appears on MS forums.
Some overlook the obvious but most have done the hard yards & followed the
instructions many times over but to no avail.
When a new post arrives saying exactly the same thing its answered like its
a new problem that hasnt been raised before.
The theme linked below seems to be the best to follow, only because my
problem is exactly the same, so I am waiting patiently for Chris Campbell
to come up with a miracle.
So I would urge everyone to keep asking the question.

  • Problem with Flashplayer after updated to 10.0.42.34

I updated to the New version of adobe flashplayer on vista. Ever since then when I go to myspace which other then youtube is the only 2 places I browse. a few seconds after logging in I get an error message with the problem listed as Flash10d.ocx and it closes the browser. It happens everytime I log in. I spent 2 days loading and unloading and restarting the adobe flashplayer trying to get it to work. I finally gave up and found a link to The version I did have right before I updated. It also did the same thing now with the problem being listed as Flash9j.ocx I didnt uprade anything else or do anything on my computer to cause anything for the older version not to work as it did 2 days ago before I upgraded. I uninstalled all Adobe flashplayer completly and I can now go to myspace and youtube but I cannot watch no videos or listen to music. How Could I please fix this problem? I spent the last 2 days reading other forums and trying everything I saw and NOTHING worked. Not even a delay in the Problem as some have mentioned it slowed down after trying things. Could Someone please Help?

    Russ
I copied the Original Media folder to a new location and then relinked to the new folder.  The process ran without error.  However that did not fix the problem.  The clip content isn't there for 80% of the clips.  The system was rendering in the background for hours.  I went to bed.  When I got up and checked using the view background tasks it stalled at some point.  I tried exporting the XML and importing into a new library.  I got a waring message about an unrecognized cross dissolve transition.  When I opened the project in the new library the time line looked exactly the same and it behaved exactly as the original project. Thoughts?

  • Is there a "known problems" with FlashPlayer

Where can one find out whats going on with the problmes we
all got with the FlashPlayer.. if Adobe even knows about
    them..?..cares about them..?

There is always a list of issues and troubleshooting
    information (in individual technotes) at
    http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer.
There is not, however, a single issues document. There used
to be, but we've moved away from those.

I use ubuntu 9.10 and try to set preferences when i eg use the site chatroulette.com. the window where I can activate the camera pops up but I can't change the preferences nor close this window (I have no reactions in that window).
On other sites, when I click on the flash plugin window with the right button, I even can't access that window (I use the german version, the option "einstellungen", that means preferences, can't be selected, is painted grey).
How can I change this behaviour and set my options.

  • Intermittant problems with Flash Player 7 and 8

    Good morning,
While "stress testing" a recent Captivate 2 generated quiz
lesson, one of our testers noticed some odd behavior. (Granted,
most students will not do the following actions, but I thought I'd
    mention it anyway.)
First let me add that we use a LMS and that this behavior
might have something to do with the LMS, but I suspect the problem
might be in how Flash Player 7 and 8 handle viewing a SWF file.
The tester would start the quiz, answer a few questions, then
close the session (before the conclusion of the quiz). The tester
(student) would then (through the LMS) go to the quiz/lesson link
and begin again. The Quiz behaviors are that the student can't go
back to any question they have already answered. In theory the
student would go back to the next unanswered question and continue
    with the quiz.
The first time this is done, everything appears to work well.
However, if the same student behavior is done again, when the
quiz/lesson is re-launched the student is taken to the very first
slide, not the one where they left off. If they go to the first
question slide they will find that it appears to be unanswered. The
student then tries to answer it and nothing happens, nore can the
student move to the next question. They are "stalled" and can go no
further. Any subsequent attempt to re-enter the quiz produces the
same effect. Additionally, if this is done without restarting the
computer the browser (Internet Explorer) will hang and they'll need
    to stop the process.
I found that in Captivate 2 you have 3 options for building a
solotion when you publish a project. You can publish using Flash
Player 6, 7 or 8. Only by selecting Flash Player 6 does this
behavior stop. The Flash Player 6 selection seems to work well.
Anyone else had problems with FlashPlayer 7 and 8?

Flash Player 11 sends the getServerVersion request in order to determine the capabilities of the Flash Access license server. If you are running a 2.0 server, it should return an HTTP 404 error, since it does not support this endpoint. The client understands that to mean it is communicating with a Flash Access 2.0 server, and will send the license request accordingly. In other words, the fact that your 2.0 server does not support getServerVersion should not cause the license acquisition to fail.
Is your server responding to the getServerVersion request with a 404? After the getServerVersion request arrives at your server, you should see another request asking for a license. In your server logs, do you see any errors in the license request processing?

  • Problems with Flash9

I am still having problems with Flashplayer showing videos
for a second or two, and then disappearing. The audio plays just
fine. Javascript is enabled on the browser. When I tried to use
Flash9 with the Flash8 activex control suggested by SJesMe, I got
    the same result.
I also tried the fixes offered by thegate55, but then the
message would pop up that I had an earlier version of Flash
installed and to view the video, I needed to install the newest
    version of Flash.
When I called Adobe, they stated that they do not provide
support for this issue. Does anybody else have any suggestions to
    resolve this problem?
    - user86

I have the same problem. Ive had it for god knows how long.
Sometimes flash fixes itself a it seems and it works for a couple
of days if Im lucky and then it will go back to doing the same
again. I know how annoying and frustrating it is as most sites have
embedded flash content and you cant see anything. I phoned Adobe
too but all they told me was that they cant help me anymore than
what is given on their website. WAT A LOAD OF CRAP!!! If you check
much earlier on in this forum, I have posted this many times but
not a single solution has come up yet. I will let you know if
    anything works for me!

  • Problem with 11.8.0.168

    hello,
i encountered some strange problems with using build 11.8.0.168 which i updated to last week, almost every time (i do not say always, because sometimes i may not be aware of flash content on a page and it may work at that time) i go on page containing flash, it behaves like it want to start flash player, but it crashes and it is trying to start it again, and this keeps happening over and over, this one period lasts about a second, and my firefox 24.0 keeps almost like refreshing a page or something, there is loading around my cursor for half a second (using win 7, do not know how to describe that), firefox icon in start panel down there blinks and i cannot log in onto that page if this happens and several other page parts are not working, i always have to disable the flash content before doing on those sites... this is happening for example on youtube and others
is there something i can/should do to avoid this? maybe there is a bug, or maybe it is something on my side, i did not wanted to reroll previous build yet... thank you

Mr. Campbell, sorry for late response... i did not get to the reset until today, and i am happy to say that it helped... so i guess there is no problem with flashplayer
    thank you for an advice!

  • Tens of Thousands having massive problems with Flash Playing Cityville

Literally tens, possibly hundreds, of thousands of people are having problems with FlashPlayer crashing constantly while trying to play a Zynga game, Cityville, which plays on Facebook while running the game on Google Chrome. None of us had this problem before sometime last week and now playing the game is all but impossible. Sometimes the game works for a minute or two with great lag and sometimes it shuts down right after you get the game up and running. The only message we get is that Flashplayer has crashed. We can restore the page and go again for a minute but the problem occurs time after time. Does anyone know a solution or does  anyone know how to get Adobe, Zynga and Facebbok to get together and solve the problem? Most of us are just computer users and aren't computer savvy so don't know what to do.
I followed instructions on my PC and got a little more info. It seems that Windows 'sees' the program on it's initiation as a possible threat to the system and/or running too slowly. Her is some information I found but I don't know and am afraid to do anything else with it.
Heck, I can't even upload that; I'm told the file type isn't allowed. LOL  Anyhow it told me that I should go into my MOTO Connect Service and manually select (with instructions) the .EXE file for the app to bee an exception to the genral DEP. I didn't do that because I was a bit timid and also never found an .exe file that looked correct. Perhaps I should be happy about that....
Anyhow, there are over 6 million people who regularly play Cityville and all of them no doubt have adjusted their opinions about Adobe because of this. Shame is that it is not likely even Adobe's problem.

If you are having issues with the Flash Player, there is a forum dedicated to it that would be a more suitable place for discussions about it...
