Problem With Ford Sync and Lumia 920
I have a Ford Flex with Sync by Microsoft and the Nav screen. I was able to have Sync read incoming text messages and reply with short ones with my Samsung Focus. After pairing my Lumia 920 I no longer can do this. The message I get is that "Texting is not supported by this phone via Bluetooth". It seems like Nokia either forgot to add this feature or there is a bug in the phone.

Same issue here (and same vehicle, except 2012), it is very annoying. My 900 I had before and One X+ do not have this issue. My first 920 had the camera die, so I replaced it. This issue was present on both phones. This has just been tested and is still and issue after all of the latest updates from MS and Nokia.
So, 93tid, why don't you STFU with your all-knowing air about what is and is NOT fixed!

Problems with Audio Sync and Rendering
In both problems what happens is NOT consistent. If were, would think was a setting or something I was doing wrong.
About the rendering problem. I capture either through FCP Log and Capture or through my analog to digital "box", Formac Studio TVR. In both cases record in DV setting. When I then Import these files about 3 out of 4 times they need full rendering. But doing all things the same, there is that 1 out of 4th time where no rendering is needed at all. Does not seem to matter whether I capture through FCP or Foremac. Results seem the same. Like I said to begin with, if was consistent would figure that is just how the program is. But due to the time it takes to do a render, sure would be nice if could be avoided some way.
Regarding the Audio Sync. At times, maybe 1 out 10 times, the audio is bad. It begins at the beginning of the film being out of sync maybe two or three frames. But then every 10 minutes of film it progressively get's worse, losing a good 6 to 10 frames as one goes. I can fix by doing a lot of cutting and then moving the film around till it is in sync again, but as you can imagine takes a LOT of extra work. Any ideas as to why this is happening and what could be done to prevent in future??
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.I've used flip4mac for about a year and have had no problems with it. I mostly use it to export preview versions for windoze people. The quality is very good, though it takes significantly longer to export than a similar-quality quicktime movie.

Password reset problem with Password sync and Waveset exception
Hi,
We are using IdM 5 SP 5 with password sync installed on ad.
Once a user tries to change password by using Ctrl-Alt-Del, password sync intercepts the requests and then invoke an IdM change user password form, but on the log we see the following exceptions. Can anyone identity what are the nature/reason for the exceptions?

Problem with exchange syncing and calendar
Hi,
I found a bug on the iphone (2.0.2)
When I create a rendez-vous in calendar and I add a note on several lines
example :
Mr Doe
Phone : 00000000
This contact won't synchronize with the exchange server (mail2web), if I create the same appointment on my mac (entourage) it will sync normally.
If I create the same appointment with calendar (on the iphone) and do'nt write the note on several lines, example :
Mr Doe, Phone : 000000
It will sync normally.
Someone else also has this problem ?

I think it has to do with the fact that in Lion the account settings were managed from iCal, and now they are managed by the OS?
Anyway I finally solved it by:
Open Calendar (formerly iCal).
Go to the Calendar menu and select Preferences.
Select the Accounts tab.
Remove the Exchange server account which is giving you the error messages. This calendar will be removed from the Calendar app.
Go to System Preferences and click on the "Mail, Contacts & Calendars" pane, find your Exchange server account, and check the "Calendars & Reminders" option to re-enable your calendar.
Your Calendar should now sync properly.
I had to do this for all of the accounts I had set up in Calander, and haven't had any problems since. -

Anybody else had problems with Ford SYNC and iphone 4?
Lost all my contacts. Any way to recover them if they haven't been backed up?The complaints I've heard most are due to the fact that the iPhone will not let you use the sync system to read and compose text messages, etc. I vaguely recall somthing about address books not syncing properly, but I've never heard of the sync system wiping the address book on the phone. It shouldn't be possible as the iPhone only supports PBAP for contact syncing, which is one way.
In any event, if the contacts were not synced to something and have been lost, there is no way to recover them, no matter what it was that wiped them. -

I cannot copy or sync any songs/ albums to my ipod touch 64gb. Have no problem with my ipad and iphone.

Ford Sync and my iphone4s are having one major issue. When I receive a call, it goes into privacy mode. I have been on Ford's web site and no one knows the answer. It is just when I receive calls. What to do? I have used a Blackberry Storm 2 in this same vehicle and no problems.

I decided to try to do two things this morning to resolve this privacy problem. The first is, I restored my wife;s phone from itunes--in spite of the fact that the Apple tech at the Genius Bar in Tampa said that reloading the firmware is not the problem and it must be Ford. This took about 15 minutes to download, restore and verify. One must resist the temptation to disconnect the phone because I had a popup by the system tray ( I'm using Win7) that said I can now use the phone but itunes was still doing stuff so I just let it do it's thing until it (itunes) told me to use the phone. Went down to the car and my privacy issue is resolved.
I also went to syncmyride to download the version checker. A word of advice this does not work well if at all on google Chrome. I went to Explorer and it worked fine. I was on a chat line about a week ago and was told that google Chrome will work with syncmyride.com. So much for their knowledge. -
HTC TB with Ford SYNC USB - "HUBS NOT SUPPORTED"
Anyone else set up their Thunderbolt with Ford Sync over USB connection? I am unable to get it to work. I get "HUBS NOT SUPPORTED" on the SYNC screen no matter what setting I use on the TB. Bluetooth works fine but the audio quality is horrible. This is why I'm trying to get USB to work.
I've had a similar issue and I haven't found a resolution to the problem. However, when connecting with bluetooth, the quality is much better if you turn the volume all the way up on your media device -- that way it's sending the most powerful signal to the car. Then control your audio volume through your car for best results. Hope this helps you until htc (or verizon) comes out with a fix to the problem.

Verizon Phones compatable with Ford SYNC
I am new to this forum. I fact I have never used a forum before. I am over 65 and do not understand how the forum is related to asking Verizon a question or offering a suggestion. But here goes:
When I go to the Verizon home page and queery Ford SYNC I get no results. I suggest that Verizon address Ford SYNC on its site. Specificially address which phones are compatable with Ford SYNC for 2010 and 2011 vehicle being produced by Ford. (Edge/Explorer)

I recently upgraded from itunes 7 to itunes 8 on my windows XP PC. That's when i had issues syncing my 2nd gen shuffle.
When i try to drag songs directly on it, itunes says i can't
I made a playlist and use auto fill. But when I remove it from the dock, it's either not updated, or the new songs are at the bottom of the playlist when they are supposed to be up higher. I end up having to hit auto fill twice to make it sync correctly.

unchecked options: open itunes when ipod is attached, Sync only checked songs, convert higher bit rate songs to 128kbps AAC, Enable sound check, Limit MAX volume, enable disk use
All those are NOT checked. Sometimes i enable disk use for seeing the IPOD_Control folder, but either way it still messes up.
Itunes Specs:
Version 8.1.1.10This is a well-known issue. Apple changed the internal file names used with iTunes 8, which makes the ordering on 2nd generation Shuffles behave differently. There is no good workaround, apart from moving the files with a hand-crafted AppleScript program.
Apple has been silent on the issue, so nobody knows if we'll ever have a fix for it or not. -

2. Delete a component out of storage
We have some own components (basically forms), which will be

MatzeIf you mena the "photo Library" then you cannot delete it.
This is how iphone handles photos. There are not two copies. There a re simply two places from which to access the same photos. ALL photos synced to iphone can be accessed via Photo Library. Those same pics can be accessed via their individual folder. -
My 4th gen iPod Touch does not work with Ford sync since updating OS

Have lots of issues with Fords MySync and here's some info that might help....
Using ford sync interface, goto the phone section, then settings, and look if your iPhones name is listed, if so select the phone name thru sync interface and remove/delete it from the sync list, then go thru the Bluetooth pairing process again.
If that doesn't work, do the same on the iPhone, select ford sync entry in Bluetooth and remove sync or forget this device on the iPhone and then go thru Bluetooth pairing again.
If that doesn't work Power off iphone ( not sleep) hold power button till you see red slider to power off. Then restart iphone, try pairing up again.
If that doesn't work go back to MySync and goto phone settings and use the up-down slider till you see sync master reset. Confirm then go thru BT pairing again.
If that doesn't work there is a fuse for the my sync system. Fuse box is usually behind kick panel of front passenger seat side for the Mustang #3, its behind a paper black cover. Remove fuse for 5-30 secs then replace.
Lastly, make sure your MySync Firmware is the latest vers. Mines 4.0.2 goto fords MySync support page to check

Problems with mobileme syncing ...
Hi everyone. I'm having massive problems with mobileme sync with my iphone, my macbook and MacPC G5. Essentially I want the iphone contacts and calender data to overwrite anything on laptop and pc but I keep getting message that contacts couldn't be synced due to inconsistent data. Despite me overriding it. I'm not sure how I go about confirming that the computers data is valid and actually whether I want to because its the iphone data I want. Then despite saying its synced calenders its not updating on my macbook or PC ... any suggestions gratefully received. Its doing my head in! Oh I'm on Leopard OS.
