Problem with framemaker 9 to pdf conversion

I have a Framemaker 9p255 book with a lot of equations. When I save the book as a pdf file some equations are not properly written. The left side of the equations are trimmed. The conversion was without problem with the previous version of Framemaker v8. I work with win7 pro 64.

On the subject of pdf's. I save as PDF because if I print to pdf...I could go home from work and I don't think it would ever make a pdf. But, even saving as pdf, it takes forever!! The longest section in my book is 236 pages. I have all the sections in different books instead of in one big huge file. When I save to a pdf, it takes about 30 minutes. Just seems that is crazy! Now, the pdf is awesome, and has the bookmarks and links, just don't know why it takes sooooo long. I realize this has been talked about alot in this forum. Just wondered if there was any new insight or if that is just the way it is.

Facing problem with logo in the PDF attachment when sending mail...

hi friends,
i'm facing problem with logo in the PDF attachment to the mail.
my requirement:
1. enter spool number and mail id in the selection screen.
process:
1. now the program will fetch the spool data and converts it to PDF.
2. but when i'm trying to send mail with this PDF as attachment.
when i open the PDF file from the mail, logo is not coming properly (looks disturbed).
can anyone help me how to resolve this issue...

logo looks good in spool/script/smartform.
even it look good when i download this spool to pdf and to the presentation server as pdf file.
i'm using CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF.
when i used CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF, is gives a msg - 'spool number not found'.

NOTE: problem i believe is with ''. i'm getting this tilt symbol () in my pdf internal table. here in the above code the line   TRANSLATE lv_gd_buffer USING '~ ' is changing the existing tilt to space. so my logo is getting disturbed.
even i tried with REPLACE this tilt with other char, but it doent work.

Problem with opening some of PDFs in Photoshop CS6.

Hi, I have a problem with opening some of PDFs in Photoshop CS6. It is said: it isn't possible to carry out an order since the module of the file format cannot analyse this file

Don’t know if Reader has this, too, but in Acrobat one can check under Document Properties.
I can convert and place the file in Photoshop CS6.
I would recommend trying the usual trouble-shooting routines and if nothing helps un-installing, running the Cleaner and re-installing Photoshop. (After making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved to s secure location.)

Problem with missing column text - PDF to Word conversion

I just bought Acrobat Standard X and have a serious deadline to meet. Problem is I converted a PDF with newspaper style columns to Word XP (2003) version and the first column of two will not budge with the right hand margin. The text is there when prompted but some of the endings to words are being hidden. I have tried putting an 'equal column width' command and it still doesn't work. I have selected individual paragraphs to try and stretch out the margin to justify with the previous page alignment (which appears ideal) and it still will not do as I want. On the ruler line, there is a blue gap between the columns and I can't get rid of it. So, the first column insists on staying narrower than it should be and if I stretch it out to align with the other pages, it loses words I have typed until it reverts back to its original width. Any ideas would be most welcome. This is a right pain in the butt. Thanks.

Alas your expectation is not reflective of what the application is capable of.
Acrobat's OCR has no concept of "styles". Nor does OCR provide Tagged content. As Acrobat's OCR does not incorporate a "zone" approach to character recognition the manual tagging of OCR output is non-trivial (and yes you'd have to do it manually).
Having the PDF content exported to Word you'll more quickly arrive at your "destination" by manual application of the desired core Word headings / styles. Now if *all* paper documents were the same type layout / format / etc it might be possible for a Word developer to script something to apply headings / styles programmatically.

Problem with scanning document in PDF format to computer

has anyone had a problem with scanning to the computer a document in pdf format from hp Photosmart 7525 e-All-in-One series wireless printer? The document appears in My Documents but when I try and open the document I get an error message that says the document cannot be opened. I can scan and open the document in TIF format. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium and I just installed the Photosmart 7525 printer. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer using the CD download.

Problem with people opening my PDF Form

I have people who can't open my Form PDF file - they get an error message. Some of them have version 5, 6 or 7 of Acrobat.
Any suggestions? I have enabled Usage Rights in Acrobat and Saved.

you can inform your clients with a message when opening your form with an (too) old pdf reader version, to avoid problems with using the form.
put following script into the initialize event of the first page of your form!

Problem with the Travel Expenses PDF Form

Hi Experts,
We are facing a strange issue in our production system that the Travel Expenses PDF form is coming as a blank pop up when users raise a Travel Expenses request or try to see the form in 'My trips and Expenses'.
The strange thing is that it is happning for only 3 users in Production system only.We have confirmed that it is not a Desktop issue. We did not come across this earlier while 3500 users are using it for 9 months now.
The same problem is not repeated in Dev, Qua or even in Production for any other user.
The SAP Security team has also confirmed that all relevent authorisations have been given to effected users like other users for whom the same is working
Kindly help me with the same if you have encountered the same problem or can suggest something that may rectify the problem.

Thanks for the reply.
We have checked that it is not a Desktop issue.
Also SAP Security team says that the effected users have been given the regular authorisations as given to other users using the same functionality.
As i mentioned it is not a problem with ADS as the same functionality is working fine for 3500 users for 9 months.

Problem with "Save as Adobe PDF format" in Excel and Word

Hi
When I use printing zone in Excel and make a «Save as Adobe PDF format» (menu File / Save as Adobe PDF), the first save is well done. But when I make it a second time, what's not in the printing zone is printing in the document.
I have also problem with the «Save as Adobe PDF format» in Word. The images superposition are not well print.
I'm using Windows 7 in french, Office 2010 french and Adobe Acrobat XI standard. All is in the latest version.

The Save As PDF feature in Office2008 Call up a PDF Creator similar to the AdobePDF Print Driver. whch OX.6 can't use.
To create Pdf you have to use method used:

Not before you attempt to use this method if Rossetta is not installed. pop in your Systems DVD and install Rosetta. Then follow directions to install the Adobe Quality PDF Automator Script which will show up in the Print Menu. Click on Print > then click PDF. Then Click on Adobe quality PDF. AS for setting up Job options and other details Supposedly your suppose to have access. But I have no idea.
First thing Rosetta should be installed out of the box. and Second Adobe should install this Script from their installer. So their should be no intervention from the user. it should just work. Early report when OSX.6 first came out almost no one was able to get this to work. and I see periodic reports that people still can't get it tork and they have to to resort to saving as .ps files then droping on distiller.

Problem with FrameMaker 9 on Windows 7

A member of my unit is running FrameMaker 9 on Windows 7 with a 64bit machine and has come across a strange problem.
Whenever he has a file open for too long his FramMaker will crash once he tries to work with the file again. This usually takes a few hours before this problem arises. In trying to figure out what was going on we took a look at Windows Task Manager. We noticed that once we opened a FrameMaker file the GDI Objects for FrameMaker continued to grow steadily even when we weren’t touching the file or doing any work in FrameMaker. The value under FrameMaker GDI Objects continued to grow until it reached some point around 10 000 then FrameMaker would either crash (if the GDI Objects passed 10 000) or it would crash once one tried to open another FrameMaker file (because that would make the GDI Objects increase to over 10 000).
Has anyone else encountered this problem? Does anyone know of a way to fix this problem?

I actually have a similar problem with my machine. I am running FrameMaker 9 with Windows XP on a 32bit machine.
The problem is slightly different because on my machine the GDI Objects doesn't continue to increase over time it increases with the number of files I open and close. Every time I open a file the number of FrameMaker GDI Objects increase and when I close the file the number of GDI Objects decreases a little but not down to the original value, so when I open and close a lots of FrameMaker files the number continues to increase until it reaches 10 000 then my FrameMaker crashes.

Problems with a table in PDF`S footer

Dear sirs,
We are having problems when trying to run a PDF with Adobe LiveCycle Designer tool.
We are working with a PDF which is composed of a header, the main body and a footer. We have created a table (table1) at the footer and
another one at the main body (table2). This last table (table2) may overflow therefore it will genarate two pages for our PDF.
On both pages appear the header and the footer correctly but in the last page it does not write the data from the table included in the footer (table1).
We have no problems with the table included in the main body
In the attachments, I send you the screenshots of both pages in which I have marked in red the part where we have error.
May you help us to solve our problem?

Check the data in RSA3 for the extractor that you use to bring data .
You must be using the data source 0CO_OM_CCA_09. Check the data and reconcile and you will get it.

Problem with fonts when reading PDFs

Hi,
I have just updated my PC to Windows 7 and Adobe Reader 9.2.
When I open PDF files I've previously viewed OK they now are shown with Adobe fonts.
Some always, some may be OK the first time but not subsequently and some don't have the problem.
I assume the ones that are OK were produced with a different PDF creator package?
What's changed in Adobe 9/Windows 7?

I understand what you are saying but these documents are ones I've been accessing every week for the last year and have only just started getting the problem.
I also notice that the ones that I don't have a problem with were created with a different program, earlier than the others as the guy who produces them had changed the program he uses.
If I haven't already said, I have successfully opened one of the problem ones and it was OK, closed it and re-opened it and I get the Abobe font instead of the Times New Roman.

Problems with black color creating PDF from Excel 2013

I want to create PDF from Excel 2013 using Adobe Acrobat distiller. When I do so I have problem with black which is 300 percent black instead of 100K. Problem is only with drawed lines from Excel's symbol menu (text is fine).
I use Acrobat 9 Pro and few days ago switched from Office 2000 to 2013.....and problems started.
Office 2000 and Acrobat 9 Pro worked ok and everything including drawed symbols like lines or squares were 100K black in PDF. Now in the case of Excel 2013 it is not so but when I use export function included in Excel and export file to PDF output is 100K. I am not sure if this kind of export is good for me. I use PDF's as inputs to InDesign. So I would like to have more control when create PDF from excel. But in Excel setup I can choose standard and minimum size and that is all.
I imported Adobe PDF Settings from computer where these settings worked with Excel 2010 but they do not do same job for me in combination with Excel 2013 (I have 300 black).
To explain my workflow:
I am a publisher of crossword magazine and I use Excel to write crosswords. Then I create PDF's and import them into InDesign.
Should I use internal export included in Excel 2013? Are these PDF's ok for working in InDesign and finally for print purposes?
Or If you have any suggestion how to create PDF via Adobe Acrobat distiller setup (which I prefer) please give me advice.

These are tough issues I suspect and the answer you need is probably trivial (it is finding it). I will make some suggestions, but I have no idea if any will work.
- In the printer under the Properties>Layout>Advanced>print quality, I use 300 dpi (default is 1200).
- Under the printer preferences>settings>edit the settings file, I use again 300 dpi (default is 1200 dpi).
These may not fix your issue, but migth be worth a try. You could also try using the preflight script to change to gray-scale. It may not make any changes, but again may be worth a try.
All I am trying to suggest are the things I would be looking at. Maybe they will lead you someplace. Others may be by with better suggestions in time.

Problem with a product image/pdf production in Indesign CS5

this problem probably has an obvious solution, but I can't figure it out due to my limited experience in using Indesign. I'm trying to export my poster lay-out as pdf, but one of the several product images does not show up in the exporte pdf correctly. Instead of a product image, I only get this white image that is similar to the shape of the product image, but the actual product image is not visible. The product image is a .psd -file and it shows correctly in InDesign document, but not in the exported .pdf file. Could somebody help me to tackle this problem?

- I'm using only one layer in the layout with all the images on it
- The image is not non-printing in the Attributes panel
- Links have no errors and theya re up to date
When I create the PDF via FILE > PRINT, then the problem does not occur, but I have another problem with white margins on both top and bottom of the .pdf-file. ¨
I still would like to create the pdf via Export.

Problem with Mail Merge to PDF

I'm having problems with the mail merge to PDF feature of Acrobat XI, in that the process fails part way through and displays the error message 'Acrobat PDFMaker was not able to mail merge the document':
This process used to work, and still works for one of my colleagues. However I have tried using different PCs (32 bit and 64 bit Windows 7), different versions of Word (2010 and 2013) and different types of data source (Excel and Access) without success.
I would really appreciate any further suggestions.

pls. take a look to note 1226758 under point 4 where it says:
4. Call SPAD and choose Settings -> Spool System -> Other. Select 'SP01: Number of Columns for List Display from Format'.
Maybe you have to take care about point 1-3 , depending on which supp.package level you are. for my i have only changed the settings in SPAD, now it works.
