Problem with getting streaming videos to switch between each other
i have attached an fla file which illustrates the problem i'm having. it is basically as you see ... i want to load and play an embedded movie on frame 1 and then move the play head to frame 2 or 3 etc etc where there is a new menu and replace movie 1 with movie 2 at the press of a button.
any chance someone could have a look at it for me and get it working the way i want and post it back to me ? ...
i'm a newbee to flash and i've spent 2 days now pulling my hair out trying to get it to work ...

it's possible someone will download and correct your file but you're more likely to get help if no download is needed to help you meaning you would need to explain more carefully what's on the different frames of your main timeline (eg, an flvplayback component the plays your video).

Problem with live streaming video after system updates

I hope you can assist me on this.
Yesterday, I downloaded the following automatic updates: iLife Support 9.0.4, Remote Desktop Client update 3.4, Mac OS X Update Combined 10.6.7, Airport Utility 5.5.2.
After that, I could NO MORE watch live streaming channels. To be precise, l can properly hear the sound, but not see the video.
I wish to underline the fact that before installing the automatic updates listed above, I had a clear sound and video of all live streaming sites.
I downloaded the latest versions of JAVA and Flash, but unfortunately they didn't solve the problem.
Therefore, I am quite sure the live streaming disfunction has to do with the system automatic updates. Is there any way to uninstall yesterday's updates without compromising the various softwares and OS performance?
What else could be if not related to the system updates?

After running it, I didn't see anything that caught my eye as unusual (corrupt file, unknown codec, etc.) I have posted a screenshot at the following URL if you care to look.

Now, let me add to the mystery. I was just able to burn it without incident with Encore 1.5 and the same chapter mark locations. There are only two things I can think of that would be possible causes. 1) something quirky about CS3, even though I've not had any prior problems in two years with it for my business OR 2) the file had become corrupted when moving from the capture computer (the older computer with 1.5) to the newer computer (with CS3). As the file seems to be okay on the 2nd computer (plays fine in WMP and imports into both Premiere and Encore), I'm leaning toward #1.
I have been able to successfully work around the problem to finish this job for the client, but I'd still like to know what's going on for future reference. If anyone has other ideas, please let me know.

Wedding Video Nightmare!! - I have an ongoing problem with getting the videos to playback correctly
This issue has been going on since about 3-4 months ago. Took a while to get familiar with workflow. But now I'm stumped big time and clients are getting impatient.
I will import a encoded video and audio file into encore. (.m4v & .ac3 ) and >new timeline and such
looks great and no issues detected in Encore... it doesn't try and re-encode cause I already set the bitrate to around 20-22kbps
I author a put together a simple menu and burn to disc.
Crappy result 1: Put it in the Blu Ray player in the living room and it plays fine for a while and then around 20-30 secs or so I notice 1 single frame of video - half of it is snow..just a flicker of half framed snow. a little time goes by and notice it again. It may do this through the whole video every minute or sometime 10 minutes...
Crappy result 2 :Another issue is audio just drops out for about 5 minutes and comes back... If I rewind the video and play it back.. it doesn't have audio drop out in the same time in the video.

I burned a copy from the image file this bride is complaining about and it played fine through the whole video.
I was thinking maybe I have a bad Blu Ray drive or discs ... however I'm not sure of this cause I do get errors often trying to burn discs direct from encore.

Hi, I have a problem with RTPExport output video files. One side streams H263/RTP(AVTransmit2.java) and other write this steam to a file by RTPExport.java. When network conditions are ideal, output video file has same fps and same number of frames like original file. Problem occures, when theres packet lost in network, then output file has different fps,and also has less frames like original video(because it didnt write missing frames to file, and thats why it get shorter). Pls how can I achieve output file that will have the same fps like original one? How to write to file an identical copy of what I can see while receiveing video with AVReceive2.java? Its there a way to modifi rtpexport or avreceiver to do this? Thanks a lot!

Okay, first off, the second file is smaller on purpose. RTP intentionally drops packets that are old/out of order in order to make sure real-time video stays as close to real time as it can. This is by design, so there's really nothing that can be done about it.

That example is an example of a "custom transport layer" for RTP connections. Essentially, it's some code that's handed the RTP packets on the transmission end, and it's expected to deliver those RTP packets on the other end. And it doesn't care about how they get from A to B, only that they do.
If you were to replace the UDP socket in that example with a TCP socket, you would be guarenteed not to drop packets due to network reasons. Every RTP packet you were handed by the transmitter, you would then hand to the receiver. There is no guarentee that none of the packets would be cast away as "old" by the RTP protocol itself, but there's also no guarentee any of them would be. It's a crap-shoot at best, but it's certainly worth a try. -
Question--How to get streaming video?
I have a MBP with 10.6.8., 1.66 intel, 4 GB/ 1067 Mhz DDR3 memory. We have wireless and I have been informed that we don't use a fraction of our capacity. Nevertheless I dan't get streaming video. I get the audio and the video has to catch up. I use Airport. I have ignored thisproblem until now as I seldom bother with Youtube, etc. but now I would like to watch work-related video. Any ideas? I am a perpetual novice.

Problems with getting my Ipod Touch to work on my Sony Bravia or any TV
I am having problems with getting videos or movies to play on my Sony Bravia HDTV or any TV. I have a first generation Ipod Touch and I have the Apple AV Composite Cables and all I get is sound for both TV's that I tried. I read one post where some guy had a faulty Ipod that wouldn't work. Does anyone know how of something hidden or special that needs to be done or how did they fix the problem if they had the same one? Thank, ejcarlson
Check connection, if you have a case on your Ipod the connection may not be good enough.

I am finding the ability to download previous purchases now shown on my iCloud account to be difficult. Music appears fine and most movies are OK but I have problems with all music videos included with album purchases. Any ideas?

The iPhone 5 is less than a year old, so all of them should still be in warranty unless they have been jailbroken or physically damaged. If you have a hardware problem as you describe the only option is to get the phone replaced by Apple or repaired by a non-authorized shop. The Apple replacement will be free at any Apple store in the country where the phone was purchased. If Apple determines that the phone was physically damaged or jailbroken it will cost $229.

Synching audio problem with MPEG-4 video in QuickTime

I’m having a problem with MPEG-4 video file I created with TechSmith Camtasia (6.0.1).
Problem: The audio does not sync up with the video when played with Apple QuickTime 7.6 (latest build) in Windows Vista. The longer the video plays the more out of sync the audio is. Here's where it gets interesting:
When I play the file using Adobe Media Player or Adobe Flash Player (plug-in in Internet Explorer), the video and audio sync up and all is good.
Is there a problem with how Quicktime decompresses this type of file?
Does anyone have any idea what is happening?

LeoIf I remember well, N70 plays mp4 video without problems. Try resizing during encoding to 176 x 144 and reducing frame rate to 15 frames per second. Also try to keep data rate below 200 kb/s. If you are using MediaCoder do not go with default settings for Nokia N70, they are too optimistic.

Does anyone know why I'm getting this error message? After getting it, I usually cannot hear any sound on I Tunes or other media players.
I've already tried uninstalling and re-installing the drivers and it doesn't help. I also have the latest version of I Tunes. Any ideas?I had this problem also and uninstalled and then reinstalled Quick-time yesterday and the problem was solved.
However when I turned on my PC today, I had the same problem again but this time uninstalling and reintsalling Quick-time is not working.
Anyone any other suggestions as to how to fix this problem?

Vitas DijokasWell, it seems waiting is not my strong suit..! I renamed a javascript file called recovery to sessionstore. This file was in the folder sessionstore-backups I had copied from mozilla 3 days ago, when my tabs were still in place. I replaced the sessionstore in mozilla's default folder with the renamed file and then started mozilla. And the tabs reappeared as they were 3 days ago!
So there goes the tab problem. But again when I started mozilla the window saying "a script has stopped responding" appeared, this time the script being: chrome//browser/contenttabbrowser.xml2542
If someone knows how to fix this and make firefox launch normally, please reply! Thank you -
Just moved my email from Entourage to Mail. Having real problems with getting my signatures to work properly despite sending email as Rich Text.
When adding in a small company logo to the signature, PC's / windows computers only receive signature and logo as attachments.
I've tried all possible fixes I can find including getting a PC user to format the logo but no joy. Has anyone experienced this and any ideas on a fix gratefully received.Send it as html so the signature is an image source URL

I am still having problems with my music videos freezing (all purchased on iTunes) since the update. The first day of the update, no problems...played 6 hours of music videos and no freezing. Today...every single video froze!!! So frustrating! I rebooted, restarted, powered down and no help. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

As for question #2, you call tell how iTunes is sorting songs by the up or down arrow next to a header name.
Even the original order that the songs were entered or date added or last played can be sorted.
Much easier with a mouse or touch pad. -
Problem with getting resized image's bytes
I've got a problem with getting correct bytes of a newly resized image. The flow is that I retrive an image from the filesystem. Due to the fact that it is large I resize it to a 50x50px thumbnail. I can display this thumbnail in #benchmark1 (see code below). Unfortunately something's wrong with my imageToBytes funtion which returns reasonably small size of image but is totally useless - I can't make an image of it anymore so at #benchmark2 the application either crashes or keeps freezing. I saved this byte array on my disk and tried to preview under Windows how does it look but I got a message "Preview unavailabe". I did some digging in the Internet and I supposed that it's because I don't use any jpg or png encoders to save the file. Actually I think that it's not the case, as the bytes returned from method imageToBytes look weird - I cannot even make a new image of them and display it without any saving in memory.

Problem with getting iPod to work.
I'm having a problem with getting an iPod to connect to my computers. Also I can't even really get it to run. My brother gave it to me one or two years ago and it had these problems I just didn't think of the idea of going directly to Apple to figure it out. It's a 30 GB black iPod if that helps. When I plugged it in it showed the battery symbol. When I leave it for a while it shows the Apple symbol.
