Problem with gmail not working with apple mail..

Hi,
i'm trying to set up a gmail account to the apple mail program on mac (still works in iphone and ipad). after many diffrent approaches,
i think i have all the right setnings. But i still cant connect to the google IMAP, both with or without SSL.
i guess perhaps that the problem could be within the google settings.
does anyone have another solution i could try?

it dosn't work.. have tried that at least 5 times..

I have the same Problem... Did u try to delete the "Envelope Index"? ( got to Library/Mail/V2/... delete all files Envelope ... Close Mail before! and then restart Mail.)
I tried that but nothing happen... How tu use Mail without search feature!!

Named Anchors not working in Apple Mail

Hi... we have an HTML Email Newsletter. About 2 months ago the named anchors (links) from the top to different parts of the email stopped working right. For years, named anchors would simply go to the section of the email that you desired. The location of the anchor would appear at the top of the email window. Recently, the links have still worked, but Apple Mail would put the location at the bottom of the email, requiring the user to scroll down to see the content. And even more recently, now we have to double-click the link at the top to get it to work, and still incorrectly.
At first, this seemed to only not work in system 10.6. But now it's working the same way in 10.5. I am surprised a web search hasn't found anyone else with this problem. It affects not only our emails, but any email that has a link from the top of the email to any other part of the email.
Is this just a bug in Apple Mail or is there a fix? Thanks in advance!

I have exactly this same problem - anchors now move the cursor so that the desired text is just off the bottom of the message window, and one has to scroll to see it.
This is obviously an error - it is inconsistent with all web / anchor behavior I am familiar with.
What's going on?????

SMTP settings not working on Apple Mail but work on other email clients like Sparrow

Apple mail constantly gives me "Could not connect to SMTP server" while other email clients have not problem connecting to the same server using the same credentials. And yes I've checked my login name / pw. many times. Same exact settings on all clients. Everything works, while Apple Mail doesnt. I've been using Apple Mail app for a while with my other accounts. For some reason here, it can't connect. Any ideas?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Whay does the supposed best operating system in the world not support such simple things
Any why does Apple just create a business e-mail account like Google so that you can put your copany name at the end rather than I-cloud.com?

Gmail Not Working with Mac Mail

Just this afternoon my 2 gmail accounts stopoped pushing mail to my Mac Mail (7.0). I can send mail from my Mac, my iPhone sends/receives on both accounts, as does my gmail when used with any browser. There has been no change in any settings that would cause any issues, so out of the blue I just don't receive emails on my Mac. I read some threads about appliction specific passwords but that seems unlikely as a cause since it just stopped working today, and as far as I can tell there was no change in my computer or google that would necessitate such a change on my end.

Just to upodate, out of the blue one of the accounts started receiving mail - the other still does not. I'm not sure if this is a google issue or more likely a Maverick issue, as some other odd behavior has occured with mail since upgrading the OS a week ago.

Keyboard Problem, Drivers CD NOT WORKING with Windows 7 RC

Download Audio driver from here.
Intructions how to install it in Vista/Win7.
Extract this driver with Winrar.
Open Device manager and expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
Right click on Either the High Definition Audio Device if you have the generic Microsoft drivers, or the Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 if you have older Conexant drivers and choose "Update Driver Software..."
Click Browse my computer for driver software, then click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
Click "Have Disk..." then Browse to the folder where the drivers were extracted .......\V64 for 64-bit Vista/Win7. Click OK.
Select one of the "Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221" models in the list, there will be multiple identical entries.
Click Next, and you're done.
I'm not sure which one from the list will work for You.
This drivers weren't test. So if You will try them and it will work for You let us now about.

TS4002 iCloud not working in Apple Mail - cannot change server settings as they are greyed

I have been having some issues with Apple Mail for a while - constantly being asked for passwords, etc. Then some days my iCloud mail will not work at all. It then magically comes back to life after a day offline. This has been happening regularly since the move from Mobile Me to iCloud.
I have read a few threads about Keychain, etc, but so far nothing I have tried has worked.
Any suggestions?

Sorry that I cannot give you an answer. I am having the same problem. I have the correct exchange settings. I even turn off autodiscovery and set the external and internal servers to the same settings. Mail partially works, but it will "forget" older email items when they are still in an inbox. This is NOT an issue with iOS, so I think there is a bug in the Mail program. I am still searching for an answer as well. Right now I am resorting to exchange webmail on my mac. This seems to be only a mail problem. My calendar and tasks sync fine.

"Archive" feature not working in Apple Mail - v5.1 (1251/1251.1) - LION 10.7.2

I am trying Archive feature on my IMAP account using following menu option(pls check screenshot)
It always fails to Archive and gives this error
The message “Subject” could not be moved to the mailbox “(null)”
The destination mailbox does not exist.
Here is the screenshot for the same
On first attempt Apple Mail created a folder named "Archive" in IMAP folders, but somehow mails are not getting archived to this folder. Though, after getting this error the mail is removed from inbox.
Please help !

Well, I agree with #2 out of 4.
I have no problems searching by content in OS 10.7.2. As Barney says, it's the default search state now.

Gmail not working now in Mail - OS X 10.8.2

I Use OS X 10.8.2 and can not receive or send email from 2 different Gmail accounts set up via Mail. Both account were working fine yesterday and my other non Gmail accounts are working fine. Any thoughts or remedies or is this a Gmail issue or an issue with OS X Lion? I can access the Gmail accountss fine via webmail or through Chrome Browser online or via my iOS devices

Robohelp 9 with patch - Not working with IE10

Hi,
We have a problem with webhelp generated from RoboHelp 9 when viewing with Internet Explorer 10. We can't open a topic on the left or open a search result, until we either :
A) Resize the window
B) Resize the splitter between contents and the content pane on the right
C) Open the dev tools via F12
We have installed the patch provided by adobe for existing webhelp generated by RH9 at the following address :

I have also tried to install RH10 and generate the project again, but the same issue occurs.
I don't know what else to look for, the problems are what the patch was released for, but it is not working in our case.

We are reproducing with Windows 8 Pro 64bit, with Internet Explorer 10 (Update version 10.0.3).
I see on your website the snippet "Topics not opening in IE10.". On our web server, we add the IE8 compatibility tag for our web application to work correctly. I have created a new site without this tag and the fix is working.

Bigger/Smaller Buttons not working in Apple Mail!

Hello All,
I recently used Migration Assistant to move everything from old to new computer.
Everything works in Mac Mail except the Bigger and Smaller buttons for text point size.
I could use Cmmd + Minus/Add signs but miss the button functionality.
Any ideas???

Is the one that doesn't work a layered menu? DVD Player does not work correctly with layered menus, it takes one click to switch to the selected state, and a second click to activate the button.

BaCopyFileProgress with callback not working with D11.5?

I did a project last year using D10 & Buddy API 3.76 with baCopyFileProgress (callback handler enabled) and everything worked. I’ve done other projects since using D11.5, Buddy API 3.76 and baCopyFile (no callback) and everything worked. Now I’m updating last year’s project with the callback and it locks up (the callback is never called) both with D11.5 + Buddy API 3.76 and D11.5 + Buddy API 4.05 (demo). It locks up even if I just recompile last year's project with D11.5. I’m in the process of ordering the upgrade to Buddy API but the demo xtra isn’t working, I have my doubts registering is gonna fix it. Anyone else having trouble (or not) with D11.5 + Buddy API + baCopyFileProgress?

the help files still won’t open on XP and I’d bet the system copy animation and progress callbacks are related.
The help files don't open because I think the Director development team changed some mechanism internally and neglected to tell anyone. I don't think this is related at all to the callback function not being called or the copying not working when it's enabled.
FWIW: in order to open the Help file, I place the xtra and its help file in the same directory (\Adobe Director 11\Configuration\Xtras\Scripting\Buddy API\) and add a Director file to the same folder with the following code in it:

Problems with HP4620 not working with other computers in the house

I purchased an HP 4620 for my home and it works great wirelessly with my Vista laptop. However, it does not show as an option for our desktop or our second laptop. Any ideas?

OS means Operating system , Windows 7 and Vista are Operating system's for desktop and laptop. You will have to install the drivers and then connect the printer ..this will finish the printer software installation and you will be able to just click on printkey and print.

View All VIP's Not Working in Apple Mail

Ever since I updated to Mavericks, the view all VIP's inbox doesn't work. I thought the last update would've fixed the problem, but it hasn't. The column where all the emails are supposed to appear is completely blank (white). The only way I can see the VIP's is when I select an individual VIP, but that's not helpful when I need to see all emails from my VIP's in one inbox. This feature works perfectly on my iPhone. I have a MacBook Pro with Retina Display - 2.8 Ghz Intel Core i7 with 16GB of memory.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I used this workaround and it seemed to work for fixing the VIP problem.
After deleting and killing as suggested, the iCloud Helper restarted and the cache repopulated with fresh ones. I then clicked on inbox and back onto VIP's and they were all there!

Try deleting the contents of ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.iCloudHelper and then kill the com.apple.iCloudHelper process in the activity monitor.
