Problem with Golive/Menu machine/IE 8

Hello,
I'm a french Golive user since the soft is born, sorry if my english is not good. I try to explain a new problem,.
Win XP SP 3 - Golive CS2 - Menu machine 1.7.4
All my sites with this config are running well, the menus are scrolling vertically in the pages as I want in the browsers. Now, in my last site, the menus are not scrolling in IE8 (but ok in Chrome and Firefox). I tried to ask the Menu machine team, but no answer. The site settings are similar, I don't understand.
Samples to see :
Scrolls well in IE 8 : menus on pages of this site : http://www.canopy.fr
Don't scrolls in IE 8 : menus on pages of this site : http://bistrophile.perso.sfr.fr/
Do you have an idea ? I can't test these sites in IE9 on my config.
Thank you from France
Philippe

Thank you, but I tried all I knew on this, It's the first time I have this problem. I'm very surprised because it's only in IE 8 on my computer ! The preview in golive is ok, menu scrolls well, as in firefox or chrome. I don't know what happens in IE9 on win 7 or vista, or on a Mac. I used also mac computers for a long time when I worked in publishing and advert.

  • HT201250 Unexpected problem with Mac time machine!

    Hi every one!
    I'm having an unexpected problem with my time machine! the moment I hook up the back up drive my Mac crashes and the only thing I can do is to force restart. I'm not sure if the problem is with the back up disk or the Time Machine itself. I've successfully used the app since now and this just happens! I can neither access the disk in finder nor fix it by disk utility... would you please help me?
    PS. the disk is encrypted, I doubt that might be causing the problem?!
    Thank you!

    Launch the Console application by entering the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Enter the name of the crashed process in the “Filter” text field. Post the messages from the time of the last crash, if any -- the text, please, not a screenshot.
    Then, still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash logs related to the process. Select the most recent one and post the contents -- again, not a screenshot. For privacy’s sake, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)

    My Time Machine says there is no backup disk available.  I've never had any problems with my time machine completing backups.  I was away from house with my laptop for about 9 days so I'm wondering if there is something I need to do now that I'm home to get it working again.  I'm not technologically savvy, so if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it!
    Thanks,
    Jana

    You can lose your ability to backup through TM for any number of reasons, but the most common is what happens after a update. If your drive still works, your best approach is to read this:

    The attached link contains helpful graphics, so don't worry if you're not tech savvy.

  • Does my Mac Intel Core 2 duo have problems with GoLive?

    Since I have my Mac Intel Core 2 duo I seem to have problems with GoLive. Could this be possible?

    Hi Will,
    I did see the image you sent me in offline email. I normally don't do support by email. This is the image.
    When the page looks like this in GoLive there is normally something wrong in the code. To be able to help you out on this we need to see your code. Which means you have to switch to code-view and dechiffer the code. Or, if the page is live, give us the url to it so someone can look at the code.
    As for linking to mp3 songs, I cannot help you as I never deal with sound (except listening to it). But somebody else might be able to help you with this.

    I encountered a problem with some client machines that use Firefox version 24ESR and IE8.
    Ajax requests of aspx pages from Firefox are getting the following error from the iis server (iis version 7.5):
    Bad Request - Request Too Long
    HTTP Error 400. The size of the request headers is too long.
    From analyzing the request that was sent to the server, I saw that the request consist of only the viewstate of the aspx page.
    I tried to disable the viewstate for one page and the server got the request correctly.
    I do not encounter any issues on these laptops with postback requests from Firefox or when running the same application with IE8.

    Sometimes that means that the page address sent is loo long.
    Check the link address you are using.
    I can't help you further and will send for more help.

  • Cyrillic problems with TrayIcon menu

    Hi, developers,
    I've been writing an application which has the option to minimize to tray. I've set a awt.Menu to the TrayIcon instance and all works like a charm... on my machine. I have a tester who sees square-like characters instead of cyrillic ones(the picture bellow) when he trigers the popup:
    http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/6000/55087022.jpg
    My tester is using Windows XP sp3 and I'm running on Windows XP sp1. I suppose that the answer lies somewhere in the awt part - all Swing components with labels display cyrillic without any problems.
    The menu labels are originally written in cyrillic. Could it be a local system issue or could I do something in my application?
    Hope you have ideas :)

    Nope, I don't think your link was helpful at all :( See, I am not writing an applet neither am using java 1.3. As a matter of fact the TrayIcon class sticks me to java 6 :) Besides I know the basics of bundling custom fonts within my application. I think you might not be aware of the fact that most fonts support cyrillic so I don't really need to load another internationalized font.
    I will remind you that labels are properly displayed on my machine. That's why I was firstly asking whether it could be a local problem of my tester.

    The website is http://wwww.bataviabulldogfootball.tk

    Note that running your page through the W3C Validator gives this list of errors: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bataviabulldogfootball.tk%2F&charset=%2 8detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0
    I see that you have a very thin doctype at the top. I suggest you create a new page in Dreamweaver and copy the bit at the top of the page:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
    Then put that code in place of these lines from your current page:
    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8" />
    I see that you have two opening <body> tags. Delete one; it is not needed. Add the preload images from the second into the first body tag and delete the second.
    I see code below the closing </html> tag. Re position it before the closing </body> tag.
    Because of these errors mentioned above, it was impossible to see the page. Fix and reply here when you have done so.
    Also, it is not possible for me to divine what difficulty you are having. If you can please also express it in English (LOL), I'll be happy to suggest a correction for you!

    p.s. Posting entire blocks of code is NEVER as helpful as giving us a link to the pages in action. I seldom read through code dumps here in the Forum.

  • Problem with CC Menu Bar app (Mountain Lion)

    Howdy!
    So, i have this little problem with the CC menu bar app. I have it set to start when i login and everytime i (re)start my computer, the CC app window starts in the middle of the screen. I have to click in the menu bar icon for it to go to it's rightful place.
    It's not a big of a problem (not really a problem even), but i wonder if there is any way for it to start hidden and in it's place.

    Ok, i disabled that option, restarted, then Pinned it to the menu bar, changed the option back on and restarted again.
    Still shows up in the middle of the screen as soon as i login.

  • Compatibility problem with GoLive 5.0 and Acrobat 6.0 Standard?

    Whenever I add pdf files created with Acrobat 6.0 to the GoLive 5.0 site window a question mark or the little green bug appears next to the file. The bug/question mark does not go away when I link to the file. Moreover, trying to delete it in GoLive's trash is almost impossible. No matter how many times I try, it continues to appear in Site Trash (under the Extras tab). Has anyone out there had problems with pdf files and GoLive 5.0? Thanks for the help!

    Almost all versions of Acrobat came with Distiller since version 1.0. There was a version of Acrobat Approval 5.0 that did not come with Distiller, but that wasn't really a full version of Acrobat.

  • Problems with main menu

    I`ve managed to open a JFrame in fullscreen mode but I have problems with centering buttons. I want to have a menu that consists of a number of buttons and I want them to be centered (both vertically and horizontally). I have the buttons in a JPanel but how can I center it now?
    EDIT:
    public class MainMenu extends JPanel{
         private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
         private JButton newGame, quit;
         private JPanel buttons;
         public MainMenu(){
              newGame = new JButton("New Game");
              quit = new JButton("Quit");
              newGame.setAlignmentX(Component.CENTER_ALIGNMENT);
              quit.setAlignmentX(Component.CENTER_ALIGNMENT);
              buttons = new JPanel();
              buttons.setLayout( new BoxLayout(buttons, BoxLayout.Y_AXIS));
              buttons.setAlignmentY(Component.CENTER_ALIGNMENT);
              buttons.add(newGame);
              buttons.add(quit);
              add(buttons);
    In a JFrame class I call this like that:
    this.setContentPane( new MainMenu() );

    Firstly make sure that your JPanel is the same size as your screen, use a setsize method. Secondly, go to www.javaalmanac.com and search for gridbaglayout. A gridbaglayout is a way to organize components horizontally and vertically.

  • Problems with customising menu template backgrounds

    Hi.
    I am experiencing problems with changing the background of the included disc menu templates in PE9. I can change the background image to anything i like on the computer and all seems to work OK but when i burn the project to disc (PAL_Dolby DVD) the custom background image has gone and been replace with the default template imagine.
    Anyone got any ideas whats going on!
    Thanks

    This issue showed up with PrE 9. I do not recall reading of it with earlier versions.
    I do not know if the PSD files have some corruption, or if some change in PrE 9's code "did the deed," but many have filed a Bug Report, and I ask that you please do, as well. It should be an easy fix for Adobe (but I am not a coder, or software engineer, and could be wrong).
    Good luck to us all,

              padding: 0;

    /* Tips for Elastic layouts
    1. Since the elastic layouts overall sizing is based on the user's default fonts size, they are more unpredictable. Used correctly, they are also more accessible for those that need larger fonts size since the line length remains proportionate.
    2. Sizing of divs in this layout are based on the 100% font size in the body element. If you decrease the text size overall by using a font-size: 80% on the body element or the #container, remember that the entire layout will downsize proportionately. You may want to increase the widths of the various divs to compensate for this.
    3. If font sizing is changed in differing amounts on each div instead of on the overall design (ie: #sidebar1 is given a 70% font size and #mainContent is given an 85% font size), this will proportionately change each of the divs overall size. You may want to adjust based on your final font sizing.
    .oneColElsCtrHdr #container {
              width: 46em;  /* this width will create a container that will fit in an 800px browser window if text is left at browser default font sizes */

    .oneColElsCtrHdr #header h1 {
              margin: 0; /* zeroing the margin of the last element in the #header div will avoid margin collapse - an unexplainable space between divs. If the div has a border around it, this is not necessary as that also avoids the margin collapse */
              padding: 10px 0; /* using padding instead of margin will allow you to keep the element away from the edges of the div */
    .oneColElsCtrHdr #mainContent {
              padding: 0 20px; /* remember that padding is the space inside the div box and margin is the space outside the div box */

  • Internet Explorer Problem with Spry Menu Bar

    http://www.cloud9industries.com/clients/jewelryworld/index4.html
    OK here we go
    #1) In IE, the toolbar doesn't appear with the same decreased
    opacity as it does in Firefox and Safari. I'm using a png
    background image with a transparent background and I've defined the
    background color the same as the lower layer's color. Any ideas?
    #2) THE BIG ISSUE - IE doesn't display the drop down portions
    of the menu properly as they display horizontally. If the cursor
    moves into the <li> from another <li> the menu displays
    as aforementioned. If the cursor moves into the <li> from
    outside the menu bar, the menu bar behaves properly.
    This is the first page I've done with a Spry menu bar as it
    seems the former navigation bar process has been removed from
    Dreamweaver. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    cloud9industries

    Hi,
    I took a look over your page and I noticed that you are using
    a very old spry version 1.4. The current released version is Spry
    1.6 and contains some major bug fixes for Menu Bar widget.
    Please update to this last Spry version. You can download the
    new files from
    here.
    The problem with the transparent background is an IE6 problem
    which doesn't support transparent backgrounds. This problem is
    fixed on IE7 and I check it and it works there.
    Please let us know if you still have problems with MenuBar
    after updating it to the new version
    Thanks,
    Diana

  • Problems with Help menu in photoshop CS2

    When I try and access the help menu and then "photoshop help" (or press the F1 Button) in photoshop cs2 I get the following error.
    "the operation could not be completed"
    I then press ok on this and the following pops up.
    "The instruction at "0x00864a4d" reverenced memory at "0X00F40B08". The memory could not be "written". Click ok to terminate the program"
    I have win xp professionals sp2 and am using cs2.
    Pc is lintel dual core with 2gb of ram.
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled but still recieve error.
    Does anybody have any ideas how to fix this?

    MTSTUNER's advice is right on in this case.  I've seen problems with the older versions of Photoshop not being able to write to their installation areas because of UAC.
    If Run As Administrator doesn't work, one additional thing you can try is to turn the UAC level down to the lowest setting, run Photoshop once, then return UAC to its default (or leave it off, your choice).
