Problem with HP LaserJet 4L and Leopard

4L will not print with Leopard except under following circumstances:
If I unplug the 4L, then replug and reset via Print & Fax preference,
then, it will print 1 page and stop. Will not print any more until I go through the unplug,replug,reset procedure. Then, I get 1 more page. Etc,etc. The unprinted pages appear in the printer queue. I have used this 4L happily going back through many Mac's to the old Duo. Any ideas?

I am having a problem with my HP Laserjet 6L. I use PowerPrint's Serial to USB cable. The computer recognizes the driver, but prints garbage. Does anyone know how to fix this?
With Tiger I used to have the problem where after each print job I would have to unplug the USB cable and plug it into the other USB port. This might be a work around for the other respondants.

Printing Problem with HP LaserJet 1022 and OS 10.4

I am having a problem printing one page of a document on my HP LaserJet 1022 with OS 10.4. All other documents seem to be printing fine, but when I try to print one particular page of a 90 page WORD doc, that page consistently comes out with a big black streak across it and it does something to the printer because all the lights start flashing.
I have powered off, unplugged, reset the printer subsystem, reinstalled the printer driver, and even tried to print on my laptop, and the same thing keeps happening. The document printed for me fine a few weeks ago.
Any suggestions on a work-around for this or a permanent solution? I really need to print this page on my printer ASAP. Thank you.

The page looks perfect in preview and as a PDF. I can't print from the PDF, however, because it shrinks the text and expands the margins ...
Something's fishy. Save as PDF should result a file that looks exactly, precisely, like what you'd get if you printed directly to your printer.
I suspect your Word document has been corrupted by a few bytes of random data that is causing your printer to go nuts. Try cutting that portion out of the document, and pasting it in a new blank document so you can incrementally isolate the damage.
This isn't going to be as easy as it sounds, because when the PostScript printer driver encounters the errant code in the Word document, it's essentially telling the printer "now, go to the top of this page, print a nasty black smudge, and then crash." You might have to cut a whole page before and after the suspected corruption. If you're lucky you might be able to cut the portion then paste it right back as "unformatted text". Try that.

Problems with HP LaserJet 1006 and Mac OSX 10.4.11

I successfully installed the HP drivers and printed out a document, signed off, and now the print queue goes to stopped without printing any of the queued jobs.
I've reset the print system, downloaded newer drivers from the HP site, but nothing seems to help at this point. I've included the error log below. Any help appreciated.
Running a Mac mini 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo with 2GB SDRAM, OSX 10.4.11, build 8S2167.

Printing problems with HP laserJet 1320 and new Intel iMac

My new Intel iMac won't print to my HP 1320 from Eudora or from web browsers. The applications "quit unexpectedly". From Safari, nothing happens.
I can print PDF documents and Office documents with no problems. The Intel is connected to a router via Airport. The printer is connected to the router via Ethernet. My old G4 iMac prints fine (connected to router via Ethernet) as does my G4 laptop (connected via Airport).

Solution!!!
Just spent 90 minutes with some nice folks in level 1 and level 2 support.
Problem seems to be that I used migration utility to import the soul of my old machine into the new machine. When you do that, you bring along the old print system (PPC vs Intel).
I had upgraded to 10.4.5 after the migration and assumed that it would correct any problem like that, but it had not.
After a great deal of trial and error, the solution was to go to move disk/library/printers to the desktop and restart the system
Then use the the install disk 1 that came with the iMac and use the OPTIONAL INSTALLS package to reinstall the printer drivers.
Worked like a champ.
Suspect similar problem might happen for any of you with I/O drivers.

Problem with HP laserJet 1020 and ibook G4

It won't print! Computer recognize the printer, but it won't print. Seems I'm not the only one experiancing this problem, what can I do?

I read somewhere that the easiest way for Mac users is to use the CD (avail.. from HP website under "support & drivers" - look under HP 1022 (not HP 1020, but you will see that the it will lead you to HP 1020/1022 series drivers)
I am also looking at buying the HP 1020 that so many had raved about, ... checked the HP site and found that it's on sale (??) within the USA and Canada ? Feedback from other 1020 buyers : the driver used to be available on their website, but they had since pulled that from their website.
Have not tried the CD myself, but hope this helps with giving you some lead !!

Problems with HP Laserjet CM1017 and Windows 8.1

I have a HP Laserjet CM1017 MFP printer and I just upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1.
Now when I go to Control Panel/Devices and Printers/Adjust Print Options, I get an error message:
"Function Discovery Print Provider DII has stopped working"
I also get this message:
"Function address 0x11272fc8 caused a protection fault. (exception code 0xc0000005) The application property sheet page(s) may not funtion properly."
How do I fix these errors?

First, I would suggest you uninstall the exsisting driver and reinstall following one of these documents to see if it will clear this error message:
Install HP print and scan software on a Windows 8 computer (32-bit and 64-bit)
Universal Print Driver (no scan)
Driver support included in Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 or in Windows Update

Scanning problem with HP Laserjet 3050 and Windows 7 64-bit

I understand that to use the HP 3050 with Windows 7 64-bit I must use the Windows Fax and Scan software. However, if I try to scan using anything greater than a 200 dpi resolution, the document takes forever! Any workarounds?
Also, was doesn't pdf show up as a document type choice?

I have a new pc, with Windows 7 ( 64 bits ) and when I try to print , nothing happend.
Any body could tell me, what happend. I update the driver following the instrucctions in HP but , nothing happend. I am breacking my head try searching the solutions but I dont know what happend.

Problems with Apple ProRes 4444 and alpha channels in Motion 4 after upgrade to Snow Leopard. Has anyone seen this?

We've just now upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard and are having a problem with Apple ProRes 4444 and alpha channels in Motion 4. A clip with an alpha which keyed perfectly before the upgrade, now will not key. If I convert the clip to the Animation codec, it keys perfectly. If I export the Motion project as a ProRes 4444 self contained movie, it will key when brought into FCP 7 but if I import the project into FCP 7, it will show the key in the viewer but not the canvas. Has anyone seen this or have any suggestions on how to correct this? Is it a bug?

I delete the printer and re-added, but nothing changes.
All the forums topics concerning driver updates reference the App Store, but I cannot find anything there.
Nor I can download the driver from the vendor website, as it also redirects me to the App Store, where nothing happens.
I am new to Mac, so the question may be a silly one.

Wireless printing problems with 10.5.4 and Epson printers

Anyone else know about problems with Epson printers such as this no longer functioning wirelessly with bonjour once upgrade to 10.5.4? It appears they are not supporting this with a new driver yet?
At this time, Epson says they have no drivers for 10.5 and this specific printer but wondered if there are more general problems with 10.5.4 and bonjour with Epson or others?

MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.5.4) Using Epson CX11-NF printer

I have 5 computers-G4 PowerPC, two G4 12" laptops, G5 Mac Pro dual, Macbook Pro--with the older computers all running 10.4.11, the new ones 10.5.4. Until Friday, I was able to print with all of them to an Epson Stylus Photo R200 via Airport Extreme. After installing software for my new G3 iPhone on the G5 Mac Pro the printer connections on all the computers stopped working. I have so far been able to get the G4 Power PC to print, but none of the others. I have tried Bonjour, Gimp-print v.5.0.0-beta 2, cleared all the print drivers and restarted, and everything else I have been able to find on both Epson and Apple sites. The Printer Set Utility described by Epson does not exist in Leopard machines, and doesn't work for the older laptops. As soon as I select one of the printers in the "selected printer in print dialogue box" it grays out. I have set up sharing on the G4Power PC that does print, but it is not accessible--it shows up but is grayed out. There is a diamond next to the printers in the Print dialogue box in applications' menus, but it still doesn't work. It either cannot make the connection, cannot find the printer, or keeps spinning with the message that it is finishing printing (but it hasn't even started.) Again, everything worked fine until the new iPhone was added to the mix. My old iPhone didn't cause any problems. This is really a problem. Any suggestions welcome.

iTunes is a mess! It couldn't find it's own libraries and I was forced to create a new one. Now I don't know where my music is or if any's missing.
