Problem with Hp xw4600 Graphics card upgrade

I have a hp xw4600 workstation with an nvidia quadro FX3700 gpu and I bought an nvidia quadro K2000 gpu
after I have plugged the new card in, it would not start and the cpu released a beep sound.
May I know what is the problem I am facing or what can I do to make it work?

I know nothing about this, but on the page linked for the K2000, it states
The Quadro K2000 is supported on the following HP Personal Workstations:
Z820, Z620, Z420, Z220

  • Problem with my amd graphic card

Hi.. I have a problem with my amd graphic card.. The card is amd radeon 6770m.. I did format on my laptop and when I tried to install the catalyst center which includes the driver, it displays a message which say that catalyst center stop working... I have downloaded all the versions of the driver since 2011 when I bought the laptop... But I have the same problem whichever version I try.. I also have updated the bios to the last version but nothing happens..I think maybe graphic card is broken.. Thanks for reading..

    Hi @Lefteris93 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your I would uninstall all the software and drivers for AMD High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver and Catalyst Control from the control panel and the Device manager.  Restart the notebook and download from here.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system at the time of purchase. This will help update the drivers that have been installed on the Notebook.   If you graphics card was damaged or not functioning you would have a black or blank screen.
    Thanks.

  • Need help with power supply & graphics card upgrades

I have a HP Pavilion p6320y that I bought 8 months ago. AMD Phenom II x4820 Quad Core processor.   I play WoW and since the last big patch, have been suffering with low fps. I updated drivers and followed all the advice given to me by Blizz and finally figured out that my Nvidia GeForce 9100 (integrated graphics) isn't good enough anymore.
I checked my computer and discovered that I have a 300w power supply (12V) and read on another post here that something stronger than 300w is needed to run a decent graphics card.
    Now for my questions:
How much of a power supply can I upgrade to without hurting my computer, but will be enough to run a good card?
What would be a good graphics card for this computer?
I've been looking at the Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express graphics card and wonder if that will work on my computer.  Most of the nicer cards seem to be the PCI Express and I'm not sure if that will work.
Any advice will be most helpful. I have some experience with the inner workings of my PC and would like to fix this myself instead of running to the closest computer shop and paying someone else to. Thanks!
    This question was solved.

Well, you are starting out from a fairly low baseline with the integrated graphics. It will not cost much to have a substantial increase if all you want to do is run WoW without error messages. Yes, the 300w power supply is an issue and rules out any card that will require its own power (i.e. needs its own power cord like a hard drive) but there are several mid-grade cards that can run off bus power alone (i.e. just from the pci-e slot itself). Just taking a quick look at newegg.com I see the following:
    GeForce 9400 under $50
    Radeon HD 4650 under $50
    GeForce 9500GT a little over $50
Any of these should get you where you want to be and not require a PS upgrade. The slot you have available is a PCI Express x16 slot so don't look at AGP cards; they will not work. If you want to install the card you mention you need to get a better PSU.

  • Photoshop CS6 have problems with my dual graphics card

I'm currently using photoshop cs6 on my laptop (hp pavilion dv4 3114 ), and this laptop has dual graphics cards(one is mobile intel hd graphics, the other one is ati hd 6750), it ususlly switches to the faster one when games are running or some software that requires a lot of graphic work. But this time I have already set in the graphics card profile to let photoshop use the faster one, but when I launch photoshop cs6 it tells me that the graphics card is not officially supported, as you can see this in the screenshot.
Then I turned to photoshop's preference(performence) and found it only identifies the mobile intel hd graphics. I'm currently using photoshop for designing large posters so performence is very important for me. Is anyone know how to solve this problem so that photoshop can run with the highest performence?

II can't imagine how these computer companies expect to fully integrate GPUs from two different vendors, but they're trying.  To me, knowing a bit about how display drivers are implemented, it seems an impossible task.
I hve heard (in the context of Macs that have this option) that disabling the low power options so that only the more powerful GPU is active can help.  I don't know if that can apply to your system, but it might give you an idea of a place to start looking.
Another thing might be to try to find whatever settings it offers for "affinity" and set it so Photoshop and its cousins use just the ATI GPU exclusively.  It might be the "switchover" process that is causing the problems.
    Good luck.

  • Problems with bootup: Damaged graphics card?

My comp has been running without problems for 2,5 years. Two days ago I removed my graphics card and hard drives so that I could get the dust out of my case. I put them back and restarted. The computer hangs at bootup and there's some beeps (1 long and 8 short, meaning defective video adapter) and the diagnostic leds hang at "Testing RTC". Clearing the CMOS didn't help. So, I replaced the adapter with an old GeForce 2 MX and the computer works with out problems... seems like a sure thing - I broke my graphics card.
The thing is that I decided to flash my bios from 5.6 to 5.7 and tried the card again and for some reason it worked. I soon noticed that I had forgot to plugin my HDD's and had to power down. When I restarted I got the same beeps again and couldn't get it to work.
So the question is: can the fault be in somewhere else than the graphics card? PSU?
    Here' my computer's specs:
    KT3 Ultra2
    Antec True 380W (+5V 35A, +12V 18A, +3.3V 28A)
    AMD Athlon XP 2200+
    2 x 512 Kingston Value Ram
    1x 80GB WD, 1x 40GB Seagate Barracuda
    Creative GF4 Ti4600

I've tried that already. Doesn't work, either.
Seem like I have to go and buy a new card.

  • ThinkStation S10 problem with Nvidia GTS450 Graphics Card

    Hi,
I have recently purchased this Thinkstation and decided that I wanted to change the graphics card as I will mostly be using it for media (ie DVD and Bluray on my LCD TV).
I purchased a Nvidia GT 440 originally but could not get anything to display through it and recieved 3 beeps (1 long and 2 short). I confirmed with the company I bought it from that it should be compatible, and had it tested by them to check the card was not faulty.
So I sent that back for a refund and bought a Nvidia GTS 450 thinking that as it takes separate power rather than through the motherboard maybe if it was an issue with power it might work but again got the 3 beeps and no display.
Both cards I tried also at the same time as the Quadro FX370 but still got no display even though the fans were turning.
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

First and foremost, the GTS450 is not a supported card.   GeForce cards are not supported in Workstation class systems.  This isn't just a Lenovo statement, but also the same response you'll get from Nvidia as well.
That being said, you're likely running into a ROM space issue in BIOS.  With a known working card, try going into setup and disabling features such as PXE boot and the 2nd ethernet (assuming you're not using either of these).  I know on the 20 series (non- Eseries) we made some BIOS optimizations that would sometimes allow cards like this to at least make it through POST successfully if you free up space by disabling unused features.  Not sure if this same optimization made it into the S10/D10 series BIOS or not, but it's worth a shot.

Sounds just like what was happening with my Alum MB. I took it in and they replaced my battery. It seems to be ok now. I don't know what it is, but my battery was fine before 10.5.6 and the same timeframe of the firmware updates when they came out.
My battery health was jumping around but was fine before all of this happened. Unfortunately at 381 cycles I don't think you have much chance of getting the battery for free. Perhaps you can complain about the battery saying it was fine until 10.5.6 or whatever. Not sure when your computer was made, but perhaps you are eligible for this program: http://www.apple.com/support/macbook_macbookpro/batteryupdate/

  • H520 Graphics Card Upgrade Problem

    Hello,
A few days ago, I decided to upgrade the graphics card on my H520 non-slim version. This is a two week old unit with an i3 3240 processor, intregrated graphics, and 6 gigs of ram. I decided on the gtx 650 ti card, paired with a new 600 watt power supply. Upon installation, the computer would not detect the card in any manner. After trouble shooting for hours, e.g., messing with settings in bios, I returned the card and the power supply unit to the place of purchase thinking one of the two was faulty. Unfortunately, I am experiencing the same issue with the new card and psu. Although the fan on the card indicates it is receiving power, the computer does not recognize that anything is installed in the pci express slot. It appears either the pci express slot is faulty, or the motherboard does not support this card. In my opinion, considering that this computer is two weeks old and the nvidia card is widely used, both are unacceptable. Any suggested actions before I return the card for the second and final time?
    Thanks

  • How do I get Windows 8 to function with my Iris Graphics card?

    Hello!
I have a late 2013 Macbook Pro retina with 8 GB of RAM and Iris graphics card.
I am having a problem in WIndows 8 64 bit (I'm using bootcamp 5). It seems as the Windows 8 doesn't work properly with the Iris graphics card. Under display adapter information it shows only 32 MB of dedicated video memory. And I only want windows on my mac because of occasional video games. No games run with 32 MB of video memory. And it seems that windows drivers are correct because it recognises the Iris 5100 graphics card...
I tried reinstalling bootcamp drivers and went to Intel's website for newer versions of Iris drivers but nothing helped. Is there a way to allocate more memory to the graphics card or some other solution?
I would really appreciate help on this.
I attached a screenshot of the display adapter information panel in windows 8.

Dedicated is how much physical memory it have software cant change that its the same deal in osx

  • Premiere Elements 9 crashes with multiple NVIDIA graphics cards under Windows 7

I've just installed Premiere Elements 9 and found that it will not run at all with multiple NVIDIA graphics cards active under Windows 7.  Per all the other discussions, I updated the NVIDIA drivers and Quicktime support to the latest versions.  (NVIDIA version 260.99).  I have both a 9400 GT and an 8400 GS installed, to support multiple monitors.  They both use the same driver.  The PRE 9 organizer will run, but as soon as I create or load a project it quickly crashes.
On a long shot I disabled the 8400 GS card in the Device Manager and now I can run PRE 9.  Of course this means giving up one of my monitors.  Any other ideas?

Over in the Premiere Pro area (or maybe it was in the Hardware section... didn't pay a lot of attention 'cause it really didn't matter to me) I read a message about using two nVidia cards with no problems (other than no dual-card SLI support)
I **think** that was with two SAME model nVidia cards
And, of course, PPro is completely different code, so PreEl may simply not work with two nVidia cards

I bought the Hp Envy 17t-j100 Quad Edition Notebook PC a while back and i was wondering if i could upgrade the graphics card on it. When you buy the laptop if gives you an option, you can either buy the Intel Deticated Graphics or the Nvidia Geforce GT 740 and i decided to buy the Nvidia GT 740 because i heard the integrated graphics were not that good for playing games. So i was wondering if i could somehow take out the NVidia Geforce GT 740 and replace with a better graphics card, Would that be possible?

Sorry; no dice. The video card is soldered to the motherboard. The point-of-sale options are for laptops with different motherboards. Buying a laptop is like buying a house: think about what you need now and in the future because they are not easy to change.
