Problem with iCloud and storage

I have 13GB of 15GB available on iCloud and I back up my phone constantly, my phone still says I have no storage left on the device it self. I've had this problem on my iPad before, I bought more storage and still nothing was resolved. How do I create more storage on my phone so I don't have to go and delete things before I download an app, take another picture, record a video, etc. I am currently using a 16GB iphone.

As I clearly said I do not want to have to delete anything off my phone. There has to be a way to not have this problem. You would think apple would fix this by now
Say your closet is full of clothes. There is no more room to hang anything but you want to buy new clothes. Unless you take something out of closet that is already there, there will be no room for the new things.
Apple can't "fix" the laws of physics.
Transfer pictures to your computer or to a DropBox (or similar) account.
Best of luck.

  • Problem with iCloud and E-mail set-up

I have been trying to set-up an iCloud e-mail account but keep getting the messages that it cannot set-up the account.
Problems from the iCloud control provide the message that I should use the e-mail preferences to set-up the account, the e-mail preferences provides the message that I should set-up iCloud account. The iCloud account has been set-up and the apple ID works well with other applications.
Not sure what the issue is?

Welcome to the Apple Community SupportLesley9119.
Go to system preferences > iCloud and uncheck Mail. Go to the Mail application and check that the account has disappeared, if not delete it. Go back to system preferences > iCloud and check mail.

  • I'm having a problem with iCloud and mail.

My account says I've used up my free 5gb. 2.1 gb was in mail. I went into my iCloud account online and deleted all of the email message as I don't use it for my mail. It still shows this as 2.1 gb of used space within mail. I have no idea  how to fix this. Anyone have any ideas?

The right way to set up an iCloud mail account is to sign in via the iCloud preference pane and then check the box marked Mail. Is that what you did? You should not be trying to set it up or change it in the Mail application.
Uhm... set it up?  I have had this iCloud mail account for years and I've been using Mail as the app nearly as long.  This mail account was MobileMe before iCloud and something else before that.  All I did today was update my OS from Snow Leopard to Mt. Lion.
IAC, what I ended up doing was: (1) disable the iCloud account in the accounts list of the Mail app and then (2) set up a new account in the Mail app with all the same values, and (3) delete the old/disabled account.
I don't know what it was unhappy with before that -- everything I set up in the 'new' account was exactly the same as the old one — but it seems to have worked.

  • Problems with iCloud and iCal

I started using iCloud about a month ago...so far it has been quite the headache. I like the concept I put an appointment on one of  my devices and it shows up on the rest (iphone, ipad, iMac). Just recently, when I open iCal on my iMac, all my appointments are gone! I have to then go to System Preferences and recheck the calendar to go to iCloud. And after a bit, then all my appointments reappear. This is getting old. It's defeating the purpose of using iCloud. My question is does anyone know of a glitch that is causing this? I'm about ready to dump iCloud and go back to synching with iTunes. Thank you!

I've now sorted the calendar issue and logged out of iCloud.  Thanks to this link:

    No more iCloud for me...
Would still be interested if anyone else has experienced the mail bug...

  • Answers to Problems With Icloud and Office 2007 Outlook?

My computer has a Windows 7, 64 bit operating system and Microsoft 2007 Office, which includes Outlook 2007 where I do most of my mail and keep my daily calendar and all my contacts. I wanted to sync my iphone 5 calendar with Microsoft's Office 2007 Outlook Calendar. I followed the instructions but it has never worked and Icloud put my original Outlook Calendar and Contacts in the deleted folder for Outlook and substituted folders called Contacts1 and Calendar1. Unfortunately, the sync with my iphone does not work properly. It did the very first time after installing icloud and itunes but thereafter all it does is upload stuff to icloud and additions made in my Office 2007 Outlook calendar since the first sync do not get transferred to my iphone calendar. After numerous attempts to make this work I decided to just forget about trying to sync with icloud so I deleted it from my system along with itunes and now i am left with the icloud calendar1 and contacts1 in Outlook 2007. I am unable to transfer my icloud calendar entries back to the original Outlook 2007 calendar the same for contacts. Can anyone tell me how to do this so I can delete the icloud folders contacts1 and calendar1 from Outlook 2007?  Thanks.

Try to export them as .pst files from within Outlook (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/export-contacts-HA102919759.aspx).  Then disable iCloud syncing and import the .pst backups back to Outlook.

  • HT4946 Problems with ITunes and storage purchase.  HELP!

I utilize the ITunes app frequently.  Today, it suddenly disappeared from my iPad and IPhone!  Please, contact me to help me reinstall it.  I've tried everything I know to do, at this point.  Secondly, I recently purchased more storage from ICloud, and, as of now, it hasn't increased my storage capacity.  Ugh!
    Thank you for your help!
    Best regards,
    Amy Trela

Your purchase of more iCloud space hasn't increased your capacity where ? It won't increase the available space on your iPad.
If you can't find the iTunes app on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find it via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first home screen to the right), then is it hidden by Settings > General > Restrictions > iTunes being set 'off' ?
If not then have you tried a reset to see if you can find it after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Problem with application and storage and memory.

I NEED HELP!! I am trying to add more application s to my Blackberry Curve 8330. My problem is I don't have enough storage to even add a couple of application s and their updates to my phone. I have an 8GB media card with like 7.3GB of free space. Also, I only have 3.7MB of free space on my device. One of my questions is, How do you add things to your memory card instead of your device memory? Second thing is, if anyone decides to respond to this discussion, please use simple steps. Thanks soooo much.
    ~Robin

    Hello!
There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) Application Memory, 2) Device Memory, and 3) Media/SD Card Memory
Application Memory -- This is the most crucial; it is the protected (not user accessible), dedicated, and fixed (in size) space that is available as the destination for the installation of applications (plus some application storage, overhead and such). You cannot touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can only install here...there is no option.
Device Memory -- This is space on your BB that you can touch to store files, pictures, media, etc. Typically, it is not terribly large, but it is available to you.
SD/Media Card Memory -- This is what it says...your SD card, for you to store files, media, pictures, etc. It cannot be used as the target for installing applications (only App Memory can be used for that). It can be as large as your BB OS can support...see this KB:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB05461
On some devices/OS levels, you can only see "File Free" (Options > Status), which I think is equivalent to AppMemory. On other devices, you can see all three memory usage levels (Options > Memory). Here are some guidelines to use:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15345
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB14320
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB14213
Lastly, it is always important to properly close applications when you are done with them. Using the Back or the Red key will not do this -- those leave it to the app to decide what to do...and some will leave themselves resident in memory, consuming resources on your BB, slowing the overall performance. Rather, to close an app, press and select "Close" or "Exit"...that will force the application to be closed, freeing up for your new use the resources it was consuming. Some apps will always remain running (typically -- BBMessenger, Browser, Homescreen, Phone, and Messages)...but, you should still close them properly - especially the Browser...if it is left on an active web page, it will not only consume extra resources but battery power as well.
Further, anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure. Some have taken to doing this on a regular basis as a preventive measure...some as frequently as once per day. Others have obtained the QuickPull app to automate a simulated Batt-Pull.
    Best!
    Good luck!

  • Has apple addressed the problems with iCloud and iCal?

I can see there have been lots of complaints about iCal errors in trying to sync on icloud. I'm not finding any solutions to the issues that are clearly affecting a lot of people. Any one know what's going on?

final cut pro 4.5 and final cut express 3 both seem to have the same dropped frames/capture issue once you upgrade to 10.4.9, something to do with spotlight.

  • HT4484 I have changed my apple I'd but am having a problem with iCloud and the App Store accepting the changed I'd what do I do?

I changed my apple I'd  but the App Store and iCloud are still using my old ID. What do I do to get them to use my new Id?

An iCloud acount is tied to the Apple ID, if you have created a new Apple ID then you will need to create a new iCloud account.

    https://www.apple.com/support/icloud/account/
All content that you bought using the old Apple ID is forever tied to that ID can only be redownloaded, updated and access using that Apple ID. Apple does not transfer content from one ID to another and Apple does not merge Apple IDs.

  • Problems with iCloud and Photostream

iCloud is not working on my PC, wont even let me open the control panel.  My photostream is not syncing to my computer. All this started when I did the iOS7.0.4 update. Also wont let me backup my phone. Any suggestions?

On your PC with Photo Stream enabled in the Control Panel, all of your photos will be imported into C:\Users\<user name>\Pictures\Photo Stream\My Photo Stream.

  • Problems with iCloud and my iPad

It's been four weeks since I've backed up my iPad to iCloud; a window appeared and proceeded to sit there, stating that the requirements to backup my iPad to iCloud. However, when I push OK, it doesn't go away, and it's blocking usage of my iPad...
Do I HAVE to fufill the requirements to get the box to go away? I'm in China, and have no reliable access to those conditions until the middle of July when I go back to the States.

For those of you wondering; those conditions are:
    - the iPad is plugged in
    - the iPad is locked
    - the iPad is connected to WiFi

  • Microsoft Office 2007 for Windows: Problems with iCloud

I thought I'd share on this topic, which caused me a lot of grief before it was finally resolved. I'm running MS Office 2007 on my PC, under Vista.
Office kept crashing on going to File:Open or Save As - after downloading iCloud Control Panel. I tried uninstalling iCloud and iTunes, without benefit. I also checked for malware, ran Office Repair, re-installed Office etc etc. Finally I re-installed iTunes and iCloud Control Panel, and ran iCloud Control Panel, which I hadn't done the first time. I allowed it to integrate with just about everything, and after that Office was fine! There is now an iCloud icon at the bottom right of the screen, and a Photostream icon in the Office File Open/Save window. Outlook also has an iCloud section in the Toolbar. I had to run iCloud Control Panel for each logon user on my computer.
It appears that simply installing iCloud caused it to do something to Office, but this was incomplete and required that the program needed to be run in order to complete the process. May I suggest that Apple programmers take note?
    Nick

Since posting the above, I found that the problem recurred. In desperation I purchased MS Office 2010, assuming it would cope with iCloud. Initially it was fine, but then the same thing happened! I signed out of iCloud, then signed back in and de-selected Outlook, Photostream and Bookmarks. This seems to have fixed the problem for now, but there does seem to be a problem with iCloud and Office.
