Problem with Integer (Big Endian) XD Cam EX 1080i60 Codec

I am trying to open up .mov files created with the Integer (Big Endian) XD Cam EX 1080i codec. I am running version 4.5 of FCP and my OS is Mac OS X 10.4.11.
Is there a cost effective way for me to upgrade and have the ability to edit these files in FCP? If I upgrade to QT7Pro will that fix it? Will I even be able to run QT7Pro on Mac OSX 10.4.11?
I have been racking my brain trying to figure out a fix, the footage is for my brother's wedding and I am strapped for cash, this was going to be my wedding gift to him.

Not gonna happen. That camera and format were made YEARS after 4.5 came out. There is no way you will get that raw footage to work on your version of FCP. ONly if someone else converts the footage to DVCPRO HD will it work.

Buy a used copy of FCS2, that includes FCP 6. That is the cheapest way. Or, find someone who has that and can read the files, and convert to DVCPRO HD for you.

Yeah, but that won't solve it.
Sorry, the only solutions are upgrade or get someone to convert the footage for you. Not to XDCAM Qt files, nor to ProRes...FCP 4.5 won't be able to read those formats either. DVCPRO HD is the only solution if you stick with that version.

I've got a MacBookPro and I have a problem with Facetime and my front camera.
When I have a discussion with an iMac or an other MacBook the image received by the other person becomes fix.
To unfix it I have to put my finger on my camera and then everything is good until the next time, 4 to 10 seconds later I've got the problem again.
Perhaps somebody can help me.
My head on my screen is always good even when the bug appear on my correspondent's screen.
For information, the 2 mac have the same iOS version (OSX Lion) and Facetime version.

Keychain Access.app is in your Utilities folder in your Applications folder.
The path will be: Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access.app.
Keychain is where all your passwords are stored for those applications that you don't want to have to manually log into all the time.
It's a handy app to become familiar with, for instance if you want to look up a password or user name from the past.

I want to play quicktime files. I have Quicktime Pro, but when I play my files, I can hear audio but not see video. The screen is blank white. the codec is: HDV1080i60, Integer (Big Endian), Timecode.
Does anyone know a plug-in that will resolve this issue?

HD formats require more ommph than your G4 can muster. 1080i requires at least a dual G5.
The codec was probably set using Final Cut or some other high end video editor and is too "raw". Normally QuickTime would use the Apple Intermediate codec to help convert it for viewing.
The data rate for your file is probably in the 30 to 50 MB's per second rate. Almost ten times more than regular DVD's.

I can take a photo, but i can't save it and when I want to take a new photo the old one isn't there anymore. And when I go into the gallery and there isn't any photo although i just took some... Are the photos saved in memory card? had this problem once. Just connect your phone to PC in mass storage mode and run a disk check on it to check for errors.

Problem with Aperture 2 and Digital Camera Raw Compatability update 3.1

Has anyone using Aperture 2 experienced problems with the Digital Camera Raw Compatability update 3.1. It may be purely coincidence but, since downloading this on March 3, I get the dreaded red screen and unsupported image format on my previously downloaded and edited RAW photos. I use a Pentax k-7 with which, once set up, I have had no problems until now!

That probably explains why any checks that your computer did to see if the Camera Raw update was okay to apply didn't stop it. You should probably contact Apple and explain that they broke something that was working fine previously.
A few people have reported backing off Camera Raw 3.1 and going back to Camera Raw 3.0 for now. This note is one of the ones I've found describing how to do that, if you wish to try that. Or, you could head down the path Apple means to lead you on and upgrade to Aperture 3.

Problems with exporting clips from GoPro cam

I am using PP cs3 and it works fine with DV and HDV. But I am having problems exporting vids from GoPro (spec: http://www.goprocamera.com/index.php?area=2&productid=7). When I render it everything looks fine, but when I export it seems to repeat frames (ex. surfer jumps from surfboard twice)... first few seconds of the exported video works fine, than the repeated frames start to appear and it only gets worse towards the end... so far I got the best results with Quicktime (H.264) but still repeating toward the end...

Received another reply from Gopro support:
"We've heard of compatibility issues in Premiere with the .avi files. One possible way around this is to first save the .avi file as a .mov file using a program such as imovie or quicktime pro. Hopefully this clears up the editing issues for you."
I still haven`t gave up, so I`ve tried exporting in .mov with Sorenson codec and Sorenson 3... works perfektly but now the speed od the clip is increased, so the picture is not tuned with sound anymore . Unfortunately the codecs settings can`t be configured via Premiere...

Problems With Video From a Still Camera

I am new to Premier Pro CS4, so this may just be a simple newbie thing . . .
I have a series of videos taken with a Nikon Coolpix series non-video camera.These are all in an AVI format. Premiere recognizes the video, no problem, and the Info tab in Media browser tells me that the file is 30 fps with a frame size of 640 x 480 (1.0). I presume this last number means square pixels.
When I try to view the video from within Premiere, the audio track is fine, but the video stays static for a while, then jumps a few frames and stays static again.
I thought this was frame rate problem, so I payed closer attention to settings in creating the project. So far, nothing has made a difference.
Is there a way to overcome this problem? Since I don't have a video camera (yet) but do have lots of these type of AVI files, I'd like to be able to do something with them in Premiere.

I admit Hunt, sometimes the CODEC thing bewilders me also, but ultimately finding the right codec is the way to go.
Mitchell, so as not to confuse, Hunt is emphasizing getting the right codec on your PC so your native video clips will edit smoothly. My approach is the other end of the stick: forget finding a CODEC, instead use a utility to convert your raw footage to an editable AVI that will utilize whatever CODEC governs the AVI world. That has it's drawbacks, because for one, you're converting a file format, so is there any loss of image quality? The other problem is that a typical raw file of 1GB usually turns into a 2.5GB AVI, so you have bigger duplicated files to have to manage. Wouldn't it be nice to just use your raw file out of your camera? Well, with the right CODEC... amazing how that works.
So, let's just go down the conversion road for a minute. It's some extra work and file management, and that needs to be considered. And, conversion can degrade a file, so that means that you need to use a good converter if you go that route. My 5D Mark II clips are 8-bit 4:2:0... I use NeoScene to upsample them into a 10-bit 4:2:2 AVI file (not purposely, that's just what NeoScene does). I think the added info to interpolate the video up to 10-bit basically just keeps it from degrading. My clips look just grand, no worse than raw. Good enough for me. BUT, it's an extra $99 for NeoScene from VideoGuys.com. Isn't there some way to do this with our current tools? Well, I was blabbing about NeoScene one night on here, and one of the Adobe fellas, Dennis Radeke, piped on and asked me, "why not just use AME to convert your files?". So that tells me it's a possibility, although Dennis hadn;t actually tried it yet. That's up to ME, so I'd better give that a whirl tonight. I'll let y'all know what happens.
Then there is option #3: Somebody piped on the forums and asked me "Why don't you just use the Canon ZoomBrowser software to convert your files to AVIs?... it comes in the box with your camera". I didn;t even think to see what Canon offered, who uses software that comes with a camera anyway??? But evidently Canon has provided this. SO, I suppose I can check that out also, which means that you may want to rummage around in your camera's box and see what software is bundled in there.
In the meantime I'll try AME tonight. However, if you can find the right codec and you get it all to edit smoothly, let us know!

Problem with importing RAW files from camera

LR 1.3 refuses to import raw files from my camera. Only JPEG's are imported. Got a Canon 350D/Rebel XT. Once I copied the raw files to disk (using Camera Window) Import from disk works fine and converts the CR2 to DNG without a problem. The preference "Treat JPEG files next to..." makes no difference. Anybody a clue what's wrong?

Yeah this is a known bug with Canon cameras in general (not just using Lightroom!). If you use the camera to download your images anyway, I believe the trick is to set the camera to mass storage mode and you'll also get the RAWs. Lightroom's import from camera is very buggy though, hence it is a better idea to use a reader, or to manually copy the files to your harddisk first and import from there.

Problem with iPhone and built in camera

As others have expressed in this forum, I have a similar concern, working at a defense company where cameras are not allowed. As cool as the iPhone is, I would want to show it off to my peers, and it is not worth getting fired for if Security discovers me with it!
I think that getting a "fixed" iPhone without the camera would be good, but doing it yourself or through a third party seems risky to the device and a sure way to void the warranty.
I am wondering about whether this could be done at an Apple Store service center, perhaps under an Applecare plan, or about how an iPhone can be ordered from Apple to meet Defense Department requirements, either without the camera or with the camera demonstrably disabled.
I have read in other posts about people who have had the camera disabled unintentionally. If only we could do this in a way that could be easily demonstrated to a security guard! Perhaps a simple custom application could be developed that could be downloaded and used to disable/enable the camera on demand, maybe with a password for it.
Anyone have any new ideas?

ODS Activation Problem (with SIDS) BIG PROBLEM !!!

Ok we have a situation in our project but first a few facts: -
1: For ODS we do not use keys but have a infobject that creates a unique ID for each entry with a bit of ABAP in the update rule (yep not very good I know but too many to change now)
2: The SID table keeps growing so we have deleted it four or five times with SE14.
Now I am not sure if these are related to our problem as we have used SE14 before and it hasnt created prolems??
THE PROBLEM
Some of th ODS that use this unique Info Object (we will call this A1) that creates unique entries will not activate with SID creation. It doesn't give much information apart from whatever process A1 is it is returned with errors.

Yep right click and delete data then set up new initial etc with very small selection.
Reloaded and exact same error message.
when I check the /BI0/SBBP_OBGUID table it only has one entry whilst the other infoobjects are getting filled in their SID tables so is there any way to sort of kick this table up the butt and reset it or something??

Problems with a big document

Hi Folks,
I have a project I am working on, where the customer requires
to have a single file with data embedded in it. This is just fine,
except that now, the SWF has reached 17 MB (and the .fla is 25 MB).
There is no issue when playing back the file, but when editing in
Flash, every time I load the actions pane and start editing, I get
the hourglass cursor, and the memory usage sky rockets to a very
huge number, then comes back to normal. During that time, of
course, I am not able to do anything. Usually it lasts about 4~5
seconds.
Now, the project is almost complete, and I'd like to finish
it as is. I know that I can split the animation in two pieces and
tell the customer that 1 file is impossible, but in the worst case,
I can (slowly) finish this way. Still, I wonder if someone has
already experienced this problem, or knows a solution. Some details
: I have Flash 8, 1 GB RAM, Windows XP.

Problem with forwarding photos from the camera roll to Facebook

When I go to the camera roll and select a picture and then tap on the forward icon, the Facebook option has gone and has been replaced with tweet.
I have deleted the Facebook app and reinstalled it, I have reset my iPhone numerous times but nothing has changed.
Does anybody have a solution or a reason why this has happened?

Solved my own problem. I still had the protective film on the back and it was covering the lense and flash. I didn't notice it since I keep it in a case all the time. If you are reading this, I hope it might solve your problem!
