Problem with Interactive Reports and IE 7

When using IE 7 a user clicks on any of the Interactive Reports options from the "Gear" pulldown and the popup apprears for a fraction of a second then disappears. This occurs in all of the options. I'm using IE 6 and it works fine for me. Has anyone seen this behavior with IE 7?

Hello Bernd,
The problems is that they can't read the Flash contents. Video let appear a black window and Animation let appear the Flash logo in B&W.
I think, at less for Windows 8, that a plug in flash is installed on Internet Explorer. So when you want to get Flash player, an alert tell you that flash is already installed. ...

  • Attn Carl: Issue with interactive report and custom JavaScript

    I am trying to use interactive reports on the same page as a third-party JavaScript datepicker. The two components obviously interfere with each other, but I am not skilled enough in JavaScript to figure out why. It would be great if you could take a quick look.
    I am using the datepicker from http://yellow5.us/projects/datechooser/ (by the way, this is a really nice, lightweight datepicker that does not pop up a new window, and something like this should be built-in in the next version of Apex, instead of the cumbersome server-side popup that is currently in Apex. Consider this a post-3.1 enhancement request... :-).
    I have put up a simple demonstration page here:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=36647:1
    When loading the page, Firefox complains (in the Error Console) that "event is not defined" on datechooser.js line 895, which looks like this:
    e = e || events.fix(event);
    (The error console in FF links to the full JS source code...)
    After the page has loaded, any clicks on the Interactive Report gives an error in the Error Console: "gReport has no properties".
    Internet Explorer (6.0) displays a similar warning message ("gReport.controls is null or not an object"), but the functionality (both datepicker and interactive report) still works.
    Would be eternally grateful if Carl or anyone JS-savvy could take a look at this problem...
    - Morten

    Hello,
    On line 931 of your file there is a call to attach the function to the window onload function
    events.add(window, 'load', function()......
    Try replacing that with this which is the way we do it in APEX , looks like that is where the conflict is.
    addLoadEvent(function().......
    I'm not sure this will fix it but hopefully it does, I can take a closer look tomorrow if it's doesn't.
    Consider this a post-3.1 enhancement requestCan you add to the enhancement thread.

  • Issue working with Interactive Reporting and Metaread option on Essbase 11

    Issue:
    I can´t see members/Generations of Essbase using the OLAP Query Object in Interactive Reporting, when Essbase Filters ( Metaread ) were applied on Dimensions
    Versions:
    Interactive Reporting 11 / Essbase 11
    Comments:
    -     If I’m connected, with an Admin user who don't have Metaread Filter Security it works fine.
    Tests:
    -     I do a test when I connect my query to Essbase 9.2, it works fine and I can see the members and generations without problems.
    It seems that could be a bug, did you have any ideas about what would happened with the Essbase 11.1.2 that IR could not interpret the same way as Essbase 9.2 do

  • Download/print problems with Interactive Reports on 10g

    Running APEX 3.1.1.00.9 on Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production with BI Publisher
    When downloading Interactive report using xls/rtf - no data is shown, pdf - corrupted file error is shown. This seems to only happen with row counts over 20. Same tables with less rows populates fine with all file types.
    This problem does not exist using the APEX.oracle.com site, same tables. Is this due to the DB version?

    For addional info, I'm putting down major steps that I followed so that it can be confirmed for any missing links. Sorry for a little bigger post
    1) $ORACLE_HOME\bin\rwserver.exe -install myRepSrv
    2) Created a report in the reports builder, saved as .rdf
    3) In Forms builder, attached the report as a new report object.
    4) In a procedure to call the report, following code is written
    ----------8<---------------
    repid := find_report_object('testreport');
    set_Report_object_property(repid,report_filename,'testreport');
    set_report_object_property(repid,report_COMM_MODE,synchronous);
    set_report_object_property(repid,report_server,'myRepSrv');
    v_rep_jobid := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(repid);
    v_rep_stat := report_object_status(v_rep_jobid);
    IF v_rep_stat = 'FINISHED' THEN
    web.show_document('/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'||substr(v_rep,length('myRepSrv')+2,LENGTH(V_REP))||'?server=myrepsrv','_blank');
    else
    message (v_rep_stat||'- Report output aborted '||sqlerrm);
    END IF;
    ----------8<---------------
    5) Compiled the form and placed the form binary in approprite folder
    6) modified $ORACLE_HOME\reports\conf\myRepSrv.conf. Changed the property of engine tag(sourceDir) to correctly point to the appropriate directory where the report has been saved
    7) modified rwservlet.properties to turn off SSO
    8) Started the external reports service with modified values
    9) Invoked the form to launch the report
    Please also note that if I invoke directly web.show_document and paste the hardcoded path, as can be expected, my work is done. But as can be agreed, this is not a very good approach.
    Thanks and regards,

  • Problem with custom Reports and forms in R12

    Hi All,
    we are upgrading from 1103 to R12. In R12 we are facing a peculiar problem with Reports. All seeded reports are running perfectly. But no data is coming while running the custom reports. The operating unit field in the SRS window is getting populated automatically while running the seeded reports but getting greyed off while running custom reports.
    We are facing the same problem with forms even, data is not getting retrieved in custom forms. Can any one suggest wether there is any profile option which is being missed out by us. ..
    Thank you,

    Add SRW.USER_EXIT('FND SRWINIT') in the afterPForm trigger.
    This will set the org context for reports.

  • Problem with Interactive Report

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a report using five tables named 1.Servers:- server_id,name,service_id,type_id 2.Servertype:-type_id,name 3.CPUutilzation:-cpuutil_id,server_id,parameter_id,average,maximum,timestamp 4.MEMutilzation:-memutil_id,server_id,parameter_id,average,maximum,timestamp 5.Serverparameter:-parameter_id,name
    i am using the below query:-
    select s.caption as "Server Name",st.caption as "Server Type",cp.maximum as "MAX CPU Utilization",cp.average as "Avg CPU Utilization",mp.average as "Avg Memory Utilization",mp.maximum as "MAX Memory Utilization"
    from servers s,servertype st,cpuutil cp,memutil mp
    where s.type_id=st.type_id
    and cp.server_id=s.server_id
    and mp.server_id=s.server_id
    The problem is that I have 24 records in cpu utilization and memory utilization tables. However the report is displaying 48 records.
    I would really appreciate if someone could help me to rectify the problem.
    Regards,
    Ash

    Hi Ash
    First off, when posting code on the forum please put {noformat}{noformat} (with the curly brackets and the word code in lower case) before and after you code. This will preserve formatting so that the rest of us can read it, like this...SELECT s.caption AS "Server Name",
    st.caption AS "Server Type",
    cp.maximum AS "MAX CPU Utilization",
    cp.average AS "Avg CPU Utilization",
    mp.average AS "Avg Memory Utilization",
    mp.maximum AS "MAX Memory Utilization"
    FROM servers s,
    servertype st,
    cpuutil cp,
    memutil mp
    WHERE s.type_id = st.type_id
    AND cp.server_id = s.server_id
    AND mp.server_id = s.server_id
    Basically your getting duplicate rows because one of your joins is returning two rows that match the condition.
    Best way to hunt this down is to change it to SELECT * and look at each row returned. You should be able to spot the difference then ie. there will be column where the value is different between two duplicate rows. The table that column comes from is the one that you need to be more selective on.
    Cheers

  • Fonts problems with PDF reports and Lexmark printers

    Hi,
    since yesterday we use Oracle Reports Services 10.1.2.3.0 as our productive reports services.
    When we print PDF reports on one of the following printers, the fonts size isn't correct (in the report defined as font size 8, on the paper the font size is about 16!).
    - Lexmark T620 PS3
    - Lexmark W820 PS3
    The printers work correct if I print out a PDF file via Adobe Acrobat Reader.
    Best regards
    Flo

    Hi,
    I'm afraid that this was a couple of years ago so I can't remember the font we used.
    If memory serves then I think it is something to do with True Type fonts.
    Have you searched Metalink? I think that's where I originally got some advice about the fonts in PDF documents.

  • Interactive report and default-filter

    ahoj!
    i have a question regarding interactive reports and default-filter for a date: is it possible to use the current date for the default-filter? apex need 'dd.MM.yyyy' for the filter... already tried to_date(sysdate, 'dd.MM.yyyy')
    thx in advance,
    christian

    Hi,
    I've just been trying the "in the last" option and had no problems for any number that I entered. Are you just entering 1 into the box? What error do you get?
    I've loaded the page with Debug switched on, and get:
    select
           null as apxws_row_pk,
           "DATE_ID",
           "ATD_DATE",
           "CHECK",
           count(*) over () as apxws_row_cnt
    from (
    select  *  from (
    select
    apex_item.checkbox(1, DATE_ID) "CHECK",
    "DATE_ID",
    "ATD_DATE"
    from "#OWNER#"."ATD_DATES"
    )  r
    where ("ATD_DATE" between systimestamp - (1 * :APXWS_EXPR_1) and systimestamp)
    ) r where rownum <= to_number(:APXWS_MAX_ROW_CNT):APXWS_EXPR_1 would contain the value 1 as that is what I've entered for the filter. My report's sql statement is just the innermost nested select statement, the rest has been added by the IR functionality and the filter.

  • Interactive Reports and BI Publisher

    Hello all,
    i am facing the problem that i have developed some applications and the only report type i used is 'interactive report'. This feature is fantastic! All end users are very happy with the possibilities the reports provide.
    Now the problem: we have BI Publisher integrated in APEX as print server. But the output ind PDF and Execl is far from being satisfying. It seems to me that only filters and ordering are sent to the BI Publisher. Every single printed report is a flat table and grouping and calculations are removed.
    Is there a way i don't know to create Excel-Downloads (and / or PDF-Downloads) where the structure of the report is the same as in the browser? If not, is it planned to integrate a 'real' print / publish functionality in APEX in the near future?
    If you know anything please share your knowledge, because this is the sow-stopper for for my applications. The only work around i found is to use 'normal' reports, but this will leave all the end users very unhappy.
    Thanks in advance,
    Wolfgang
    --- edit
    i am using apex 3.2 and BIP 10.1.3.4.1

    Wolfang,
    You're correct, Interactive Reports do currently not support all the printing features that are available with Classic Reports and Report Queries. This includes groupings, calculations, etc, and you can also not use your custom RTF templates with these reports yet. For APEX 4.0 we are planing to have Interactive Report exports (PDF, Word, Excel, HTML) that reflect what you see on your web page. And also to add support for custom RTF templates.
    Regards,
    Marc

  • Date format interfering with interactive report

    My APEX version is 3.1.1.00.09.
    I'm using a method described elsewhere to change the global date format of my application. I have application items for a start and end date. I have two application processes, one for On Load: Before Header, the other for On Submit: After Page Submission - Before Computations and Validations. They both do:
    DBMS_SESSION.SET_NLS(param => 'NLS_DATE_FORMAT', value => '''fmMM/DD/fmYY''')
    Okay, all is well with that, my dates seem to stay the way I want them to. Since our upgrade I'm going through each section of my application and updating as necessary, and I particularly want to use the interactive reports. They work fine when the page is loaded, but if I change any options on the interactive report and submit it, I get an "ORA-01843: not a valid month" error. If I refresh the page, everything works as it should.
    What can I do to get around this, or do I have something wrong with my method that is causing this to happen?
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
    I tried to replicate this, but could not. Now granted, I tried this using the new "modern" method of controlling the default application date format via the new application Globalization attribute "Application Date Format". I set the Application Date Format to fmMM/DD/fmYY and my IR on EMP worked just fine.
    If you can replicate this on apex.oracle.com (using Application Date Format), I'd be happy to take a look at it.

  • Interactive report and ALV s in HR ABAP.

    hi all,
         can any one tell , how to do  Interactive reporting  and alv's in HR ABAP. with some example reports..

    Hi Rao
    Nothing changes for HR ABAP when it comes to ALV or Interactive Lists. Only the DATA fetching process is changed. To fetch HR data , you use Logical Database PNP or Clusters or just read a specific infotype using a method.
    Here is a sample program for ALV 'BALVST02_GRID'. For interactive list , use this demo program
    DEMO_LIST_INTERACTIVE_1. It is a series of Demo Programs which you can open in SE38.
    Reward Points, if helpful.

  • Problem with Data Model and Analysis View

    I create an analyze in BI Publisher and then i create a data model using this object.
    When i try to generate an XML with a number of rows the BI Publisher return an empty XML (Only with de DATA_DS tags but no data).   To bypass this problem i make and XML file by hand and this allow me to create reports and design it but when i try to view the reports i got the message that says "No Data Found".
    So i was check the analysis and all looks appears to be fine,  In the results tab it show me a complete table with the data i was looking to use.
    So i try to repeat the error and when  i try to create the XML for the Data Model i found this two error in the logs:

    [2013-07-17T16:58:02.034-04:00] [bi_server1] [WARNING] [] [oracle.xdo] [tid: 57] [userId: <anonymous>] [ecid: ad7bb40a72b553c0:-3e5f91c5:13ecd037992:-8000-00000000000e2d84,0] [APP: bipublisher#11.1.1] Incomplete xslt._XDONFSEPARATORS: decimal separator: null, grouping separator: null
    As i understand there is has a reference to a null value but i cant find what column of the analysis has the problem.
    Any ideas about how to solve or debug this?
    Thanks

    I follow your instructions and it works fine. I can create the XML and the reports can show data.
    So, i already know that there is no problem with the data and with the BI Publisher installation but i still doesn know what is the problem with the analysis view that fails.
    Any idea how to debug it?
    Thanks.

  • Error: There is a problem with the file and it cannot be copied

    I've been trying to copy (and essentially move) the contents of an NTFS-formatted external HDD to my iMac's internal HDD so I can then format the external HDD to Mac OS Extended. However, when I simply try to drag and drop, I get an error during the transfer that states:
    There is a problem with the file and it cannot be copied.
    I tried a basic cp command in Terminal to copy all contents of the external HDD to a folder on my iMac's desktop, and found that while there were no errors, there were many individual files missing full chunks of data (ie. original file would be 4GB on my external HDD, but only 350MB on my desktop).
    Any ideas on how I can successfully copy a large amount of data (approx. 170GB) from my external HDD to my internal HDD while avoiding this error, so I can ultimately format my external HDD to Mac OS Extended? ANY help is greatly appreciated.

    That's not a good error to see. It indicates something is very wrong. Pulled out of an old programming header file:
    ioErr = -36, /*I/O error (bummers)*/
    If Apple labelled it "bummers," they had a good reason! Unfortunately, that doesn't bode well for you.
    Try running Disk Utility again. Keep repairing over and over until one of two things happens: 1) Disk Utility says no repair was needed, or 2) Disk Utility reports the same error in two sequential repair sessions and is unable to repair it both times.
    If you hit the second case, or if you hit the first but still can't copy files, then you've got two basic options:
    = Buy a third-party disk utility or two and try them. Try TechTool as a first choice.
    = Recover what files you can and write the rest off as gone.
    = Send your drive to a data recovery service and hope they can extract more than you can.
    Of course, none of this is necessary if you have a backup of the contents of that hard drive. (If you don't, this is your learning experience. Once bitten, twice shy, so they say.) Also, regardless of the outcome, once you've got your data or have decided it's gone, you're going to want to wipe that drive completely clean. Reformat the drive with Disk Utility, then when it's done, select the drive in Disk Utility and hit command-i. (Don't select the new volume you just created on that drive, select the drive itself. Mine looks like "232.9 GB Hitachi ..." with the volume name indented underneath.) Look for an item that says S.M.A.R.T. Status, and if it doesn't say Verified, you might as well throw out the drive. Don't trust any more data to it.
    If all appears safe, you can start moving data back onto it. But, as always, make sure you have a backup of everything!

  • Interactive Reports and PL/SQL Functions

    Hi,
    Am new to the interactive reports, and it appears to be I can only use a single SELECT statement to populate the report.
    I need to convert some older reports to the new interactive reports, but these are populated using PL/SQL functions, as the WHERE clause is built up depending on the selection of items on the web page.
    How can I replicate this with the new interactive reports? Have used CASE statements within a SELECT statement before, can I also use these in a WHERE clause as well?
    Regards
    Simon

    To my knowledge, currently the only way to use Interactive Reports is on a static query. And unfortunately you can't use CASE statements in the WHERE clause of a query, only in the select list.
    The way I would (and have) attacked this is to:
    1. Write the base static query as the basis of the interactive report
    2. Access the interactive report in while logged in as a developer
    3. Build a filter (or set of filters) and save the report. You have the choice of saving it as a named report or as the default report.
    This gives the user one to many filter sets they can use as a starting point and tweak, and gives them examples as to how they can and should use the interactive filtering.
