Problem with iPad3 gmail.

Just got the iPad3 and having the problem to set up the gmail account. No problem in setting up yahoo email.
I have done with enabling imap and also POP. Entered email addresses to both smtp and imap and also password.
The feedback is always something like wrong password in imap or wrong setting with Gmail?
I have not use any mobile devices to access my gmail before and could this be the possible that gmail did not enable my account a mobile device to access? I seen the setting that one of the mobile device is iPhone available.

Had the same problem with my iPad 3 and gmail....problem ended up being that I had the 2 part verification turned on for google/gmail.
Here's a link to a video made by google that describes how to generate and then enter an "application specific password" for your iPad...once you have this password, you can use the included gmail set-up and simply enter the long password that has been generated into the password field when setting the profile up and it will do the rest for you and should work.

3 big problems with my gmail and my iphone 4 inbox...

I know these are not new issues to most people, but I just haven't found any solutions yet. I've had 3 main issues with my gmail and iphone 4 inbox:
1) I've had the same issues of these weird messages from 1969, and also from 2000. I've done everything mentioned on every forum available from hard reset of the phone and computer to switching everything imaginable on or off related to contacts, mail, threads, etc., deleting and resetting the account on my phone and computer, going to gmail help pages and adjusting imap, you name it, I've done it. They all seem to correct the problem temporarily, but then eventually at some point, these emails return and disappear by themselves at some point with no rhyme or reason and there's nothing I can do about them when they're present. I've called Apple several times and they always say the same exact thing about hard resetting, but it's never a long lasting solution.
2) After I delete multiple messages from my inbox, they often reappear as unread messages and I have to open and delete each one again which is really annoying.
3) Often I open an email and click on delete. The garbage can lid opens and the screen freezes with the lid open. I have to hit home to get out. When I go back to the inbox, it's white with nothing present on the screen. I have to go back and forth between apps and the inbox and eventually the inbox emails will reappear.
If anyone has any new solutions to any of these problems, please share the wealth because I'm tempted to stay with my Verizon blackberry and cancel this iphone/ATT account since I've never dealt with any of these persistent problems with other phones.

Having problem with receiving gmail message in my appropriate email folders.

I am new to this forum and I have a question.
Yesterday I was having problems with my BB Torch, the touchpad was doing funny things like jumping lines etc.
So, I did a force restart, (remove battery for a minute).
After I did that, all my gmail emails disappeared from the appropriate gmail icons. I have 2 gmails setup and none of the messages are there.
They are still coming under the general MESSAGES folder where I can retrieve them but nothing under the gmail icons.
Is there any way to fix it?
I was really happy with the separate gmail folders and everything worked fine until now.
Just FYI... I did an update to the Blackberry software couple weeks ago but still everything worked fine even after.
Can somebody help me to fix this?
I even deleted the gmails and reset them again through the BB Setup.
It still says, "No messages".

Sounds like you may have an issue with your Messages database. Please try clearing the Messages database then test with new messages only, without restoring the previous messages from backup. Problem with Ipad3 landscape position

I have a strange problem with my Ipad. When I open a particular page (www.fotohulp.nl/portret.html), and I hold the Ipad in the portret-position, the page displays correctly. However, when I rotate the Ipad to the landscape-position, this page dropps off and returns to the starting screen. This is, by the way. the only page on my website where this happens. all the others are okay. I've tried this on other Ipad's and they are displaying this page correctly, also in landscape-position.
I don't have a clue why this is happening (influenced by other app's or....?) and I hope somebody has a good idea how to solve this.
I've also restored all factory settings, but i didn't help.

It could very well be memory related. It takes awhile to crash so it may be that there is a memory leak somewhere in WebKit on the iPad.
Note that the iPad 4 has 1 GB of memory vs. the 512 MB of the iPad 2. This probably means that the bug occurrence/or not is dependent of what was previously going on in Safari. It may be related to the peculiar background or floating menu that you are using.

Problem with multiple gmail accounts. If I open two accounts in different tabs, Firefox makes them both the same, effectively closing one of them. I would rather have both gmail accounts open at the same time.

I belong to a chorus of 100+ singers. A lot of us use gmail for our personal email. We have a google site where we share information. We log into that site as [email protected] I would like to open the chorus site in a new tab, leaving the original tab still logged in to my personal gmail account. Currently, my original tab will also get logged into the chorus account, and I will be logged out of my personal account. Why does information in one tab disturb the information in another tab? I can keep both accounts logged in if I log into one with firefox and the other in internet explorer. But I'd rather just do it with a tab, not a whole second browser.

Problem with a gmail conky script

I was looking for a long time for a conky script that displays not just email count, but their text, too.

The problem is, when it is called by conky, the text formatting (colours, etc) within that script is being ignored. Here's the result:

Can this be helped somehow? I would thin yes, since the author put those tags in it, but I don't know how.

How are you calling the script in your conky?
It looks like you are using exec or execi where you should be using execp (or execpi).
The p versions of exec parse the output of the script whereas the normal versions don't.

Problem solved.
In the docs that came with my Powerlogix accelerator card, I found this sentence buried:
"If you reset the PRAM, the NVRAM code for OS9 compatibility is cleared, so you will have to boot from the Firmawre Update CD and perform this process again in order to boot in OS9."
The "process" it's referring to is the process of setting up the NVRAM for booting into OS9 from the CD.
Fortunately, I was able to find the disk, and it worked as expected. I can now, once again boot into OS9.
Conclusion: My (unadvised) attempt to load Leopard on this old machine apparently reset the PRAM on the accelerator card and cleared the NVRAM code for OS9 boot. Although I did attempt to reset the NVRAM via Open Firmware, it did not reset it on the accelerator card.
So, thank you BDAQua, for your "Ah yes" . . . that's all I needed to steer me in the right direction.

I have the opposite problem with my gmail account. It never shows unread email. I had a student say she sent a paper to my email account; it never showed as unread. When I opened the gmail, there it was. I have checked all settings.

I am using OS X.9.3. I have tried everything and nothing seems to work. I am concerned that I will miss a student email/

Log into your Gmail account from a browser on your computer. Delete or move the email(s) with the large photo attachments. Try to clean up any other emails by moving out as many as you can from the inbox to other folders. Delete any unnecessary emails/empty trash. Once you've done that, try to open the Gmail app again. If still no go, delete the Gmail app & then redownload it from the app store. Now sign back in to see if the issue is fixed.

I just installed Firefox 4 and now I'm having problems with my gmail. The cursor seems to "stick" or "jump" when composing a new e-mail (or cutting and pasting text). I want my smooth (and fast) gmail functionality back!

You know, I was thinking if I went ahead and just created a new account, then shipped all my Home folder under the new account and used chown to fix the ownership details, then most likely the problems of my current account would be transferred to the new one.
How about skipping all .plist files and other preferences? What if I only transferred my actual work documents from all software that I use, plus emails and what have you? Would that tend to minimize the chances of problems re-manifesting themselves in the new environment?

Problems with E72- Gmail

after a hard work, i could set up gmail account on E72. Now I am getting emails on mobile but all the mails that I sent from mobile are lying in outbox?

Problem with adding gmail account to Thunderbird

In an existing Thunderbird installation I added a gmail account. During this process when I was invited to enter a password I left the password blank because I did not want a password. When I go to access my gmail mail I get prompted for a password. If I don't enter a password or hit "cancel" nothing seems to happen. I am not receiving any test emails into the gmail account within Thunderbird.

Uh Oh... Major problem with iPad3 and BitmapData [HELP]

So.. I have some stageWebView elements that use BitMapData to capture a screenshot of the browser to allow for other elements to animate ontop of the browser ( sharing options, etc ).
When I capture this on the new iPad ... and add the bitmap to the stage the bitmap is zoomed in twice the size it should be. Its not capturing the true viewport. its zoomed in.
This is what I'm using to capture the bitmap.
     SocialbitmapData = new BitmapData(socialWebView.viewPort.width, socialWebView.viewPort.height);
     socialWebView.drawViewPortToBitmapData(SocialbitmapData);

NOKIA C1-01 - Problem with e-mail on Gmail

I have a problem with the gmail software. When I go in messaging / Mail, then I add a Gmail account when I connect I always have the message : "unexpected error try again".
I have also the same message if I try to get my email by messaging / mail / add acount / other
How can I solve this problem ? In the specifications of this phone it is written that it is possible to get email with IMAP. How can I check email by this way ?

Yes I installed it. But it doesn't supports notifications or push-e-mail. And it's just a Java Client.
But I fixed the problem: If you set the number of e-mails to fetch to another number than 50, it will not work. It really confuses me, because it worked without any problems on my 5800 XM and (in the beginning) also on my X6.
I'll report this bug to Nokia.

TS3899 Problems with Gmail on Mail on iPhone

For 5 days now, my iPhone keeps telling me that there is a problem with my Gmail account, yet Gmail is working fine on my computer and on an indepent Gmail app, my username and password info is correct, and I have deleted and re-created the account multiple times. Problems with the Blackberry enhanced Gmail plug-in

Hi.
I use my Curve 8900 with a BES email account and added to this today a second Gmail account with support of the Blackberry enhanced Gmail plug-in.
But this works not fine, I can not see the sent messages in the Gmail conversations, they simply disapeare after they have been sent (and they have been sent really). The same is with the sent message flag - if I filter this flag, I see no messages, but in the reality they are there. If I look in the sent message folder in my Gmail account from the computer, I see all the sent messages.
Does anybody else have the some experience with the Gmail enhanced plug-in?

I have problems with the gmail plug-in as well. I have a bb 9700 bold and very often my gmail emails don't arrive in the email inbox. They do arrive in the message box (the one that has everything including phone calls, sms, etc.) but the icon that is just reserved for my gmail emails do not receive them correctly. Nobody is able to help me to figure out what is causing this; neither blackberry support or my telephone service provider. Also sometimes once I read a mail, it vanishes from the inbox as well. very strange...
