Problem with iPod sync after migrating library

I’ve just transferred my iTunes library to a new MacBook Pro. Although most data copied across OK it has removed the list of songs which I had checked/ unchecked to synch with my iPod. As I have over 28,000 songs in my library I would really like to avoid the need to painstakingly manually uncheck the songs I don’t want to synch. (My history of ‘plays count’ also failed to copy across.)
Further background (if it’s relevant) is that I previously kept my media library on an external drive as I ran out of memory on my old Mac.

I'd try reregistering your Windows Installer, theo.
First, launch a command prompt as an administrator. In your Start search, type cmd then right-click on the cmd that comes up and select "Run as administrator".
If you have a 32-bit version of Vista
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter
If you have a 64-bit version of Vista
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter
Do the re-registrations go through okay? If so, can you launch/upgrade iTunes properly now?

  • Problem with Photoshop CS4 after migration to new Mac

    I just migrated from an old Mac to a new Macbook Pro running Mavericks. I'm having a problem with Photoshop CS4. Specifically, two things:
    1) When I open an image in Camera Raw, I get this error:
    Fatal error - missing component
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Version Cue CS4/Client/4.0.0/VersionCue.framework
    2) When I try to save anything, it tells me it can't because of a program error.
    I've looked around for a solution. Apparently I had to install Java, but that hasn't solved the issue. A couple of people mentioned that reinstalling would work for a similar problem. My problem with that is that my disk is on the other side of the world and my new macbook doesn't have a disk drive anyway. So I logged into my Adobe account hoping to see a download link for software I have licences for, but there isn't one.
    So my question is firstly, whether there is a simpler solution to the errors I am getting and, if not, if there's a solution to reinstalling Photoshop CS4 without the disk.
    Thanks!

    Did you use Apple's migration tool?  It misses a lot of support files, especially in the Application Support directories.
    You'll have to copy those files manually, or reinstall the app.

  • Problem with sql statement after migration

    Hi, recently I copied a production database X to a remote location, to serve as a test upgrade database. Original is 32 bit and test database is 64 bit. After migration it turned out that one sql statement consumed much more CPU during EXECUTE phase than on production database. Explain plans are the same. Why CPU is different? How can I trace the problem?

  • Problem with national fonts after migration 9i- 10g

    I'm after migration from Developer Suite 9i to 10g. I see that all Polish characters are replaced with '?'. This problem is only in 10g Designer (before migration all were OK).
    I've tried setting NATLNG to POLISH_POLAND.EE8MSWIN1250 in Forms Generator. In Windows registry is POLISH_POLAND.EE8MSWIN1250 (setting by DS10g setup).
    I've tried fonts via Options->Color/Font/Style - I see change on Display view but '?' are still after saving changes and generating form.

    Thanks knordstrand.
    Problem's resolved yet. You're right - wrong charset on bd.

  • Problems with time characteristics after migration to BI 7.0

    Hi,
    Our company migrated from BW 3.1 to BI 7.0 Netweaver 2004s recently.
    After the migration we have problems with various time characteristics like 0CALMONTH, 0CALQUARTER, etc. in the Query Designer.
    In the old BW3.1 Query Designer version we could choose at the properties of an time characteristic to display Key, Key and Text, Text and so on. After the migration to BI 7.0 we now can only choose Key.
    The InfoObject definion of the time Characteristics in RSD1 is the same in the old version and in the new version.
    I am very  grateful vor every hint how i can show again the other display options in the properties, so that our powerusers can build their queries in the way they are use too.
    Thanks

    Hi Pom,
    thanks for your answer, but we are on FEP 10 already.
    So must be something else.
    Cheers

  • Problem with method action after migrating from TP2 to TP4

    Hi,
    we are migrating our application (ADF Faces, ADF BC) from TP2 to TP4. We have encountered several problems.
    The biggest that we could not solve is as following:
    In our View Object's RowImpl.java classes we have method void refreshLOVAccessorQueries(). In a number of View Objects that method is placed in client interface. In pageDefs of jspx pages that are bound to that View Objects we have method action like
    <methodAction IterBinding="TeeCronTtVOIterator"
    id="refreshLOVAccessorQueriesCron"
    InstanceName="bindings.TeeCronTtVOIterator.currentRow"
    DataControl="TradingAppModuleDataControl"
    RequiresUpdateModel="true" Action="invokeMethod"
    MethodName="refreshLOVAccessorQueries"
    IsViewObjectMethod="false" IsLocalObjectReference="true"/>
    and invoke action like
    <invokeAction id="refreshCronLOVs" Binds="refreshLOVAccessorQueriesCron"
    Refresh="prepareModel"
    RefreshCondition="#{!requestContext.postback and empty bindings.exceptionList}"/>
    When we are accessing such a jspx page the application rases error:
    "Method bindings.TeeCronTtVOIterator.currentRow.refreshLOVAccessorQueries() not supported "
    In TP2 everything worked fine. Now in TP4 for some VO that refresh is OK and for others just mentioned error is thrown. Confusing is that all View Objects and their java classes are created in the same manner and they are almost identical, and this counts for pageDefs too.
    What could be the reason of all this?
    Second thing is that in adfc-config.xml in backing bean defs we have managed-property like:
    <managed-bean>
    <managed-bean-name>regionBacking</managed-bean-name>
    <managed-bean-class>app.view.backing.RegionBacking</managed-bean-class>
    <managed-bean-scope>request</managed-bean-scope>
    <managed-property>
    <property-name>bindings</property-name>
    <value>#{bindings}</value>
    </managed-property>
    </managed-bean>
    JDeveloper warn us about that with: ' EL token bindings" is unknown '. Why is that? It looks that everything connected with that managed property works fine.
    Another problem is not severe but unpleasant
    After migration to TP4 nothing (not one element) is visible (shown) in the design view.
    The structure of the pages is similar as in the StoreFrontDemo and it shows just fine in TP2.
    Thanks!!!

    Thanks Frank,
    but working from beginning is to much work so, we have solved it in another way.
    Regard to first problem we discovered that it is happening only when there is no Rows in iterator for which we are invoking action. In invoke action we have changed refresh property to default value and the problem is solved.
    Second thing is warning that has no other effect so we will ignore it.
    About third problem, when we create new working copy of application in JDeveloper without system11.1..... directory, JDev works fine and all jspx pages are shown in design view. After some work, due to undiscovered reason design view is lost... What could cause this?

  • Problem with RTF upload after migrating to another instance

    Hi Experts,
    I am working in EBS11i, database 9i. I have XML report which was developed in DEV1 instance, which is working fine. I migrated the code DEV2, it's working fine here also; but after migrating it to CRP2, (i successfully migrated the code), after submitting the report,it's ending up with warning; I know that RTF could be the culprit, though i successfuly migrated code, i once again manually upated RTF, still report is ending up with warning. Not only this report, other XML reports which were migrated to this CRP2 instance are ending up with warning.
    Could somebody help me what could be the issue. Is there set up or something else is missing in CRP2.
    Kindly help, it's urgent.
    Thanks in advance.

    Something like that happened to me also. It turned out that the gw install did not copyed the dc files to the mta, poa directory. After copying the dc files manually, admin messages started to flow again.

  • Problems with writing files after migration

    I migrated my old Pismo HD to a new MacBook Pro (a frustrating process which I eventully had to accomplish using a clone of the Pismo disk and a firewire drive) and have a couple of issues.
    The most troublesome at the moment is a problem with Safari. It will not let me download files when I am operating as the migrated user, although it will allow downloads if I log in as the user I established during initial setup.
    I am also having trouble using Spotlight or the Find utility. Most of the time when I use these, the computer either goes into a kernel panic or grinds away for minutes and never finds anything before I give up in frustration. However, the find function on the top right of finder windows works well.
    Any suggestions welcome, thanks!
    Various   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Thanks for the suggestions. I had already tried the "Get Info" route with Safari.
    The "sudo mdutil -E /" seems to have worked for Spotlight. I did get an error message saying that my volume was not indexed; however, it seems to work now. (I'll get around to indexing the disk eventually.)
    I repaired the permissions on my startup disk from the install CD, but the Safari problem is still there (same problem with Firefox).
    Any other ideas most appreciated.

  • Problems with autorization/sync after 3.0

    Hi there
    I recently updated my iPhone 2G to 3.0 and now theres trouble.
    I've just had a computer crash and set up itunes on my new computer. While doing this i've had no backup of my old itunes and therefore my new itunes tells me i need to authorise my new computer. I've done this but it still says some apps need authorisation to work. I thougt that if I re-download all my apps it should work, but no, all new apps says that they need authorization and if I authorise, my computer sas that I already have.
    I've tried a complete restore of the phone, but this only led to the removal off apps that the sync didn't delete, still won't install my apps from itunes.
    Cans someone help me with this, cause its driving me crazy!?

    I had problems with our company OWA on my new iPhone 3g - Safari would crash (close) each time I tried to create a new message.
    Found this thread and others, so went to Settings / Safari and cleared cache, cookies, & history. Also temporarily turned off pop-up blocking AND turned on the developer debugging to see if I could get an error.
    Went back into Safari & OWA, and can now send emails. Turned the pop-up blocking back on, and can still send & receive emails fine with OWA. Turned developer debugging off, and can still send & receive emails w/OWA.

  • Problem with pending operations after migrating to gw2014

    Hi there, this saturday we have migrated to gw2014 from gw2014. We are in a cluster environment.
    We only have one primary domain with one post office, all users are in this post office.
    We have several secondary domains for gwia/webaccess only.
    Mail flow is ok. Mails are coming in and coming out, but administrative message between domains
    are not flowing. For example: if I add a new account in the post office, I cant see this new account
    in secondary. Also, for creating new domains, etc. I dont know whats happening, all mta's are open
    in mta console from the primary. This is a very critical issue for me...
    Where I can debug this pending operations ? How can I know whats happening ? I dont know if I have
    a network issue / problem or its something related to GW system...
    please help!

  • Problems with iPod syncing

    Every time I plug my iPod into my computer, it connects, but iTunes suddenly stops working. It will stop doing everything and my cursor will change to what I call the spinning ball of doom. I quit iTunes and eject my iPod to try it again, but it keeps happening every time. I thought it might be a sign that I need to update my version of iTunes, but I have the most updated version. Is it possibly time to get a new iPod? It seems to be working fine. It didn't start happening until this morning after everything was taken off of it after ejecting it f

    "Attempting to copy to disk failed. The disk cannot be read from or written to."
    If so, then see if the sugestions in this article help with that issue:

  • Problems with iTunes account after migrating to iCloud

    I've been using my iTunes account with a specific credit card for many years without any problem. After I migrated from MobileMe to iCloud aprox. 1 month ago every time I try to pay for an app, song or iBook I get an error message telling me that the postal code of my account doesn't match the one inth bank records. I've checked and the postal code is OK (is the same I've been using for years!). What could be the problem?

  • Problems with Accented Characters after migrating to UTF8

    Hi,
    I am puzzled about the following problem.
    We have recently changed the database character set from US7ASCII to UTF8 for the internationalization
    purpose. We ran the Character set scanner utility and it did report that some data may pose problems.
    We followed the the below mentioned process to convert into UTF8 -
    1) alter database character set utf8
    2) alter database national character set utf8.
    Now we find some problem while working with the old data in our application which is java based.
    We are getting the following error "java.sql.SQLException: Fail to convert between UTF8 and UCS2: failUTF8Conv".
    We further analyzed our data and found some interesting things :
    e.g.
    DB - UTF8.
    NL_LANG also set to UTF8.
    Select name from t1 where name like 'Gen%';
    NAME
    Genhve
    But when we find out the length of the same data it show like this
    NAME          LENGTH(NAME)          VSIZE(NAME)
    Genhve 4 6
    My question is why is it showing length as 4 only and when we try to use a substr function
    its extracting like the following :-
    select name,substr(name,4,1) from t1 where name like 'Gen%';
    NAME               SUB
    Genhve          hve
    We have execute the above queries on US7ASCII DB and it is working fine, length it shows 6
    and using SUBSTR it extracts just 'h' as well.
    I also used dump function on the UTF8 Db for the above query,,this is the result :-
    select name,length(name),vsize(name),dump(name) from t1 where name like 'Gen%';
    NAME          LENGTH(NAME)          VSIZE(NAME)               DUMP(NAME)
    Genhve 4 6               Typ=1 Len=6: 71,101,110,232,118,101
    I checked a lot with the data and it seems 'h' (accented e) is posing the problem.
    I want to know where is the problem and how to overcome this.
    Regards
    Siba

    We ran the Character set scanner utility and it did report that some data may pose problems. Did you check out the documentation with the scanner ? It explains why and how to deal with problem data.
    The problems are :-
    1. You had invalid data inside your original US7ASCII database . h is not a valid 7 bit ASCII character. All the invalid US7ASCII characters, ( ie. all those that will be lost after doing ALTER DATABASE CHARACTER SET ) would have been flagged by the scanner.
    2. All non 7 bit ASCII characters need to be converted to their UTF8 counterpart values, and typically these characters will have size expansions too. for example ,from 1 byte to 2 bytes.
    3. ALTER DATABASE CHARACTER SET UTF8 changes the character set tag in the database header only. No data conversions are performed to your existing data .

  • PROBLEMS WITH SERIAL NUMBER AFTER MIGRATING

    I upgraded FCP a few months ago. Today, I migrated all the info to a new computer I just bought, and FCP asks me for a serial number. I entered it, but it now says that the serial number is the upgrade one, that I should enter the original, which I don´t have. Any ideas of what I can do?
    Thanks in advance
    I tried that thread (Library/Application Support/ProApps---), ProApps is not there, nothing...

    If you upgrade software, you're always going to need the serial number of the previous one at one point or another.
    If you registered the software with Apple and/or still have the purchase receipt, you may be in luck. Call 1-800-MY-APPLE and hopefully they will be able to help you.
