Problem with ISQL Plus

here i am facing one problem with ISQL plus
i am connecting ISQL plus from Oracle Enterprise manager(OEM) while connecting it throws an error
"connection was refused when attempting to contact <servername>:5560"
Please help me out

After the port you are reporting on your thread, 5560, it looks like you are using a 10g release, however it is advisable to specify both, the os and db version at the start of your thread, isqlplus has had several architectural changes throughout the different oracle versions since it first appeared at 9iR1 going through 10gR2. There have been people who are even surprised to find out it is no longer installed with 11g and unnecessarily find a hard time trying to set it up.

I installed oracle 10g for the first time on Win XP. The Installtion-Process was fine. Now I'm not able to iSQL Plus, beacause the iSQL service in the administration area does not start properly. The status always says that it is starting unfortunately with no success.

I am very new to oracle iSqlplus. i m not able to work over isqlplus environment.
i am trying to invoke isqlplus in the same machine where i am having oracle 9i server.
what are the oracle components are required to run isqlplus. wanna know this just to be sure that vendor has installed oracle proerly

Problems with iTunes Plus upgrade

Is anyone else having problems with downloading?
I bought the update yesterday, but none of the 69 songs have downloaded. Now, when I click on "Download Now" either nothing happens OR I get a message saying that the iTunes Store is having problems and that it can't connect.
Yet, I'm reading everywhere that people are doing this just fine. So, what gives?
I sent Apple an e-mail yesterday, but no response. Any ideas?

OK, so this finally worked!
I got an e-mail response from iTunes support and they stated the following:
"I'm sorry you ran into an error when you tried to use the iTunes Store. This error appears to be caused by a temporary issue with the iTunes Store that should be resolved within the next 24 hours. Please check the iTunes Store again. All features should be working well.
If you received this error while downloading a large purchase order, please understand that the cause of the error may be a combination of the size of the order you are downloading and the speed of your connection. Please try another connection that is faster than your current connection. If this is not possible, please continue to attempt to download your purchase. This may take several attempts.
If you have any questions regarding this issue, please do not hesitate to reply to this email. Thank you so much for being an iTunes Store customer. I hope you have a fantastic day."
Anyway, my connection is perfect, so it must have been something with the store. The tracks have now been updated.
The frustrating thing is that:
(1) My "upgrade my library" now only consists of one track — that I downloaded and subsequently deleted long ago.
(2) I have several other albums/tracks that are in original iTunes format and now available in iTunes Plus, BUT not available for upgrade. This is frustrating; and although I think/hope they will be available soon, I won't be able to update given the fact that the track mentioned above in (1) has been deleted.
I have sent a reply to the iTunes Store rep about these issues and I will let everyone know what he says.

In iSQL*Plus login screen how can i issue command to connect as sysdba
I entered like this method username : sys as sysdba
password : xxxxxxxxxx
CONNECT IDENTIFIER : ORCL
When i am using above method i am getting error *SP2-0306 - Invalid option. Usage: CONN[ECT] username/password[@connect_identifier] [AS {SYSOPER|SYSDBA}] or: CONN[ECT] /[@connect_identifier] AS SYSOPER*

How to set privillages for created user with iSQL *Plus

The hosting company has provided ISQL * Plus interface. I have created user by using the following command:
Create user test identified by test;
Grant connect, resource to test;
But I am unable to load or import data into db. How can I import/load data as its giving permission denied message.
I think there is a lack of imp/loading data grants. Who do I set?

2. how you are trying/want to import/load data ?from online control pannel I am selecting the Load Data option and processing 7 steps. message appears "Successfully Loaded" but when am seeing log file its given me

Problem with Nike plus and running in non-Nike sneakers

I love running with my Nike plus and my itouch, but I've been having trouble with my Nike plus logging incorrect mileage when I attach the foot sensor to my non-Nike running shoes (in one of those little velcro pouches secured to the shoelaces). For instance, I ran a half marathon and it logged 4 miles. When I put the sensor back in my Nike plus shoes (which aren't quite as comfortable for me) everything is fine. Is anyone else having this problem? Should I carve a hole in the insole of my other sneakers to embed the sensor?

Seems something got corrupted with this VI. Copy things over to a fresh VI and things should be OK.

My point was that in the Windows Command prompt I am not able to start it - NET START complains. I came across this issue trying to create a (DOS) batch file to start Oracle10g services.

Strange Problems with Discoverer Plus 10g

Hello All -
I'm working an exercise to bring an application online which uses Discoverer Plus 10g as its client. This application is located in an area that I don't have access to, so the symptoms I'll describe have been reported to me by users.
1) When users log into Discoverer Plus and it launches, it does so with the iconic menu buttons (located below the pull-down menus) disabled and grayed-out. The users are forced to do all operations using the pull-down menus. This is a problem that is consistent across different PCs.
2) When users do File....Save As.... the "Save Workbook to Database" window opens and the user is unable to modify the filename in the "New name" text field. If the user toggles the "View:" setting at the top of the window, they can then change the filename. This problem has only been reported by 2 users, but it's happening for them consistently.
3) When a user creates a new report using File....New... the Workbook Wizard opens and all is normal until the "Workbook Wizard - Step 2 of 5: Select Items" page appears. On the items tab, the user activates the pull-down list to select the business area they want to use, and the business area name disappears when the users mouses-over it. So the user must click on the blank business area name to continue. This is a problem that is consistent across different PCs.
A number of the users' PCs have two Java versions installed on them like this:
Platform     Product
1.4     1.5.0_14
1.5     1.4.2_16
I had them make sure that 1.5.0_14 is the only one enabled, but that did not remedy any of the above problems.
At this point I don't know what to try next.

Try the 1.4.2_06 java version
I suggest you remove other java version and stay with just one.
I do not remember but from some point the java version will use the higher there is and java 1.5 from my experience
is not working with the discoverer so well.

Problem with SQL Plus

I'm getting started with Oracle.
I've just successfully installed Oracle 11g. When I opened SQL plus, and tried typing a statement SELECT SYSDATE FROM dual, the answer display is : 2 .
Then i tried with SELECT 2*6 FROM dual, and it still appeared with 2.
I'm really confused.
Plz explain it to me. Thanks in advance.

SQL> select sysdate from dual
2 If so put a semi-colon at the end and hit the Enter key.
SQL> select sysdate from dual
2 ;
SYSDATE
24-APR-2010 03:28:13
SQL>or more properly:
SQL> SELECT sysdate FROM dual;
SYSDATE
24-APR-2010 03:29:10
SQL> The semicolon is not optional.

Problem with WEBCAM PLUS, CREATIVE

I Have a WEBCAM PLUS, CREATIVE Model N CT6840.But the threading of the objective, was blocked. I dismounted the Webcam, but I broke, 2 condensers. You can, to give me the value, of the condensers:C27 and C43.

When you say that the webcam isn't detected, is that by the Webcam software, or by the Windows Device Manager? Did the webcam ever work?
Check out Webcam Troubleshooting (Windows 8), specifically look at the section called Webcam is not listed in Device Manager, and follow the steps you see there. Post back to this thread the results and we can go from there if you are still having problems.

Problems with iTunes Plus in Canada?

As the subject suggests, I'm in Canada. I can open the iTunes store, no problem but when I try to connect to iTunes Plus from the Quick Links portion of the iTunes store, I get an error saying "Could not complete iTunes Store request. The store may be busy". Is iTunes Plus available in Canada?

Problem with BTNetProtect Plus

About two weeks ago there was a major update from McAfee .. the next day my pc kept locking up, I couldn't do anything with it. So I had to open in Safe Mode and restore registry to a previous date before the McAfee update.
That got my pc working again. Unfortunately, ever since then my NPPlus flashes up every 30 minutes or so, saying either that my Computer & Files are not protected and/or my Internet & Network is unprotected. I press Fix and the problem goes away.. but temporarily.
If anyone could advise me, that would be most appreciated.
I use windows Vista... for my sins.

I suggest turning off the McAfee software temporarily while performing the troubleshooting steps in the article.
If it resolves the issue with Defender, you should then be able to turn off Defender and use McAfee with no issues.

Scanning problem with hp6500a plus

My HP Officejet 6500A plus all in one printer won't scan to my Windows 8.1 (64 bit) computer -- I've reinstalled HP Win 8.1 drivers several times. I can print to the printer, the computer detects it, but I cannot scan to the computer. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

IPod touch pairing problem with jam plus speakers

Hi I'm able to pair two jam plus speakers together and appear on the touch, but when you play music it keeps pausing on the touch, reset them and repaired and this keeps happening, does anyone have any ideas?

Does it work when paired to another device?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
