Problem with iweb after iLife '08 update

I updated to iLife 08 and now as I click to open iWeb, it asks for domain name. I have a working website/domain on imac that I can access, but there are no files that seem to satisfy. Help! iweb and my domain were working just fine prior to update. I don't want to have to re-create entire website.

Before you do ANYTHING else, backup the domain file that it's asking for.
Open a new Finder window, then open Library, Application Support and then iWeb. In there, you will find a Domain.sites file. Copy that to another location (your documents folder or your desktop) so that if you decide you need to start all over again, you'll have a place to start from.
Now, make sure you're running the latest version of iWeb '08. Do the System update and download/install the upgrade.
Now, when you open iWeb and it asks for your Domain file, you'll point it to that same location (in the file chooser on the left, choose your user name and then Library, Application Support, iWeb and click the Domain file.

Problems with iWeb, after installing Lion

Hi,
Ever since I installed Lion, I have been having problems with iWeb. Any changes I make in iWeb, and then publish to my site, via mobileme, are not saved, and the site reverts to the orignial site, after closing the website, and iWeb also loses the cahnges. I am unable to sue the Publish Site button, and the option for Publish Site changes is not available.
I am using iLife 11.
These problems have only occurred since I installed Lion.
Any help greatly appreciated.

In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
For opening your domain file in Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.

Just launch the application, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.

WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder. So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

Problems with network AFTER 2.1 update

Been using the 3G Iphone for a month or so with no issues. After updating with 2.1, specifically at my home, instead of bars, no service. I rebooted, etc. When I turn off 3G, it works, and I have 5 bars. I really don't wanted to have to mess with the settings everytime I leave my house, and because it has been over a month, can't really return the phone. Anybody else experiencing this issue?

I am having EXACTLY the same issue. I've had mine for nearly two months now. I've had no 3G, or any kind of connectivity problems from home during that time. I've typically had full bars at home.
Yesterday, after updating, I noticed that my iPhone was showing "no service" at home. Every couple minutes I'd notice that it would get connected to AT&T, but no 3G, and then it would lose connectivity within a minute.
I naively thought that this was just a problem with the towers in my area, so I didn't worry too much about it and went to bed. This morning, I've been experiencing the same issue.
I tried rebooting a couple times, that didn't help. When I disabled 3G, my reception came back, and I have full bars. The full bars have been consistent, but every time I enable 3G, connectivity disappears and I'm left with "no service".
Is this problem uncommon? Is my iPhone defective? Am I doing something wrong that I don't know about?
This is my first Apple product and I must say that between all of the 2.0 stability issues and this that my experience has been pretty negative.

Problems with sms after 2.1 update

I have an original iphone, and after the recent update, I have had some problems with my text messages.
1. A friend who has sprint is unable to delete a text that I sent to her. She has had no other similar issues from anyone else.
2. Occasionally, the text entry box, disappears and I am unable to type anything.
3. Occasionally I am unable to scroll down to the most recent message in a conversation.
4. The text entry box has also moved up to the top of the screen.
Since the update, texts are not as sluggish, which is great, but these other issues are bothersome as well. Anyone with similar problems?

I don't recall reading anything similar to this, however if you are having problems with your phone, the standard troubleshooting procedures are to turn phone off/back on. If that doesn't correct it, then reboot the phone, hold home key and sleep/wake button together until you see the Apple logo, past the slide to turn off screen. If that doesn't work, then restore, first from a backup, then if necessary as a new phone.
I don't see how someone not being able to delete your text could have anything to do with your phone. That would have to be on their end. I had an origianl phone that I updated to 2.1 and did not have any issues whatsoever. See if any of these help.

Problems with 3GS after latest Itunes update

After installing the update my phone just has the usb port and itunes logo on screen.
Ive:
-Restarted my pc a few times
-Re-Installed I tunes
-Re-booted the iphone several times
-Closed any anti-virus things running
I've searched on several topics across google and non have solved my problem so far, I'll send the person who can solve this a metal pint of thank you.
I'm not overally smart with computers but i know enough, all i did was install the update.

Problems with java after the last update

Hi, yesterday I downloaded and install the last update available for Snow Leopard. After having installed the update, I had problems with Matlab (I use the version R2010a), and the error code is reported below. Do you think the error and the update are correlated? Do you have any idea of how to fix the problem?

Problems with apps after iOS 6 update

I updated my iPhone two days ago and nearly nothing is working any more. Can't use the weather app, passbook doesn't work at all and don't want to talk about the maps. Also most of apps like facebook does not work or are incredibly slow. Does anyone has the same issues?

Yes. Sort of. Most of my apps work - and I received LOTS of notices for app upgrades I assume to be compatible with the newest OS upgrade. I am not having any problems with the maps - in fact like it much better than the google maps. I hope I am not jinxing myself considering I only used it once so far.
Issues I'm having on my 4s since the update: battery draining like crazy. Example ore upgrade I charge my battery every evening before I go to bed. Then I unplug it and keep it next to me on my nightstand. When I would wake up in the morning I would have about 95% battery remaining. That is without anything running in the background except mail. With upgrade SAME scenario I now wake up and have 25% remaining.
Can't get in passbook at all even with the so called date change work around. Absolutely useless!!!! That was probably the biggest change of the upgrade and can't use it.
Have errors - cannot connect to iTunes Store when trying to access App Store. Weird because the iTunes Store and App Store are 2 different things. I can access the iTunes Store. I can't access the App Store.
Very frustrating!

Problems with WPA after most recent update

I just received an update to the airport that renders my ability to connect via WPA at my home network fruitless.
Had to drop down to WEP 64/128 to connect.
In specifics a D-link with WPA-PSK.
Can i roll back this update?

Wish there were broadband providers in my area that provided perfectly good wireless router access at NO additional cost over a standard modem but a former girlfriend of mine paid a little extra per month for a wireless router provided by Time-Warner which was not perfectly good. She ended up giving back the wireless router for a standard modem lowering her monthly cost and purchasing her own but we had trouble setting up the brand name wireless router with her Windows PC. As a test, I plugged in my AE and within minutes we had an encrypted wireless network with none of the issues experienced with the wireless router previously provided by Time-Warner and she was impressed with how easy/fast it was to set up the AE so she purchased her own.
Wireless access points and routers are designed to be interoperable but check any 3rd party manufacturer's website for the number of firmware updates available for each model. Much of this is probably for various specific or overall improvements which have nothing to do with Apple or Microsoft updates but some of these firmware updates certainly do which each manufacturer is made aware of in advance and must keep up with.
Sometimes a particular update does create a new issue and this might be the case with this recent Apple Airport update that was targeted for Intel users only.

Problem with iWeb after associating a personal domain name with my MobileMe

I think I did this by the book. I associated my personal domain name with my MobileMe account, then changed the CName pointer at GoDaddy to MobileMe (MM), then went back to MM and hit 'Done'. iWeb now lists my MM account as 'My account name (personal domain name). It took a little while for the DNS pointer to propogate, but now I can go to a browser, type in my personal domain name, and MM delivers my iWeb website as I wanted it to, apparently from my domain, not web.me.com. The problem is, as soon as the DNS propogated, MM delivers my MM site OK, but iWeb can't find the files for it anymore. All my pages immediately went red (unpublished) when I tried to update the site, and any attempt to Publish gives me this error "iWeb couldn’t connect to MobileMe. Make sure your Internet connection works and try again." I'm cable connected to an ADSL router, and Airport connected to a cable router, and neither service has dropped out. I've rebooted, and retried, and the website is up under my own domain, so GoDaddy and MM both got it right. What did I do wrong? Thanks, someone... anyone?

This is now sort of resolved, but not very satisfactorily. One of the trainers at my local Appple Store found an old support issue in the archives going back to 2008, which blamed security settings for update problems. Coincidental with associating MobileMe with my personal domain, I had checked the privacy box and added an ID and PW to the site. That was the problem, not the personal domain, that was preventing iWeb from finding my MM account. Uncheck that box and my site happily updates. Of course, now I have a site that I cannot make private. In this case, not a show-stopper, but disappointing. I have reported it as a bug in the latest version of iWeb. Thanks for your help.

Problems with Flash after Froyo OTA update

Hey all, got the Froyo ota last night, everything went smooth.
After testing Flash, I would receive a message stating that Flash was not installed. If I check 'all' under managed applications I can see that Flash is installed, but still no luck. I went to the market and downloaded/installed the Flash 10.2 update...still no luck.
I've done the obvious things already, rebooted/battery pulled phone, uninstalled Flash update, tested again, reinstalled update, tried different browser etc etc but still no luck. I've checked other threads and forums and doesnt appear other folks are running into this issue....anyone else out there run into this problem at all? thanks.

My friend has the same phone and her flash was working fine after the update... so we compared phones and settings. Everything was identical, her's worked, mine did not. Both of our 'enable plug ins' settings in the browser were set to 'off' - because hers worked i made the assumption that didn't need to be changed. Apparantly, that was my mistake...
After reading your reply, I decided just to go ahead and change it anyway. It's now working.... so not sure why her's works with the plug in set to off and mine didnt, but just happy its working now. So...thanks for the reply!~ much appreciated...

Problem with Youtube after Flash Player Update (11.9.900.152)

Since I updated my FPlayer i'm having problem watching videos on Youtube..
I have version 11.9.900.152 - the latest but I'm not able to watch videos at all. I installed an older version it worked partly, some videos played the others did not. Installe the last one again. At first on Find Version page I could not see anything then after reinstalling over and over it finally shows that I have latest version. Did you install BOTH the ActiveX and Standard plugins?
You may need to do a "clean install".
Download the following files by right clicking and selecting "Save target as"
Flash Player Uninstaller
Shockwave Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Save ALL files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT RUN anything yet.
Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything else, go to your Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLERS to remove all instances of Flash Player.
Next, run the ActiveX Installer.
Lastly, run the Installer for other browsers.
Once Flash Player is installed go to: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/#sp
Download BOTH files, the one on the right FIRST by right clicking and selecting "Save target as"... the other by clicking and following the steps to download the FULL ActiveX installer.
After the ActiveX is installed, run the Standard Shockwave FULL installer from the Downloads folder.
Once everything is installed, see:Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer and: ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer to make 100% sure that Flash Player is enabled and NOT being blocked by ActiveX controls.

Problem with Entourage after installing Security Update 2008-005

Since installing the update I can no longer access the mail on my server using its required SSL settings in Entourage 2008. I can use Mail without problem, and I can access mail from my other servers (which don't require secure settings).
Any advice?

Hello, i have the same problem. After security update the Mailprogram is polling my imap accounts (which requires SSL) endless. My workarround was to install Thunderbird. TB did the job. Any solution?

Problems with SMS after new iPhone update

After downloading the new iPhone update my SMS messages started getting scrambled up. A few of my friends that also own iPhones are having the same problem and i was curious if there are others out there? And also if there is going to be anything done about it?

Search the forums for "Re: SMS conversations 1.1.3", this has solved that problem for a majority of the folks having it.
