Problem with Jinitiator 1.3.1.9 , Windows 7,  IE 8

Hi,
We have a problem running Jinitiator 1.3.1.9 (Forms f60servlet) on Windows 7, IE 8. We can start the application, and run the forms with no problem but when we change to another application (ALT+TAB) and we try to return , the browser (IE 8) that was running the forms (f60servlet) doesn't refresh (dies literally) .
Previously we were working with Windows XP and everything was correctly, but recently the company decided to migrate to windows 7.
Do you know what is the problem?. Any advice?
We know that our versions are very old (forms, Oracle) must be updated , but it is a legacy application and is not easy to migrate ASAP.
Thanks in advance.

Hi John,
Can u try the work around mentioned in the below link
http://notsomany.wordpress.com/2010/03/30/jinitiator-working-on-windows-7/
Also some times IE8 can block the webutil_file_transfer.
AS_to_Client if "protected mode" is ON for the security zone your forms url is in (look in the statusbar in IE ->
internet, trusted site, ... -> protected mode: On/Off)

  • Solution Center problem with HP Office Jet J4550 and windows 7 (64bit)

    Hello All,
    I have a problem. I have the Solution Center and a HP Office Jet J4550 and windows 7 (64bit). When ever I open the solution center, the solution center says " HP office jet J4550 series disconnected" When I open HP document manager, I can access the printer.  Additionally, when I run the HP Print Diagnostic Utility 4.0, it sees the printer, no issues. I can print test pages. No issues. I downloaded the latest driver from the HP site (OJJ4500_Full_13, 299,359KB) Your insight is appreciated.
    Thank you
    Roy B

    I have a similar problem with the J4580 and my new Windows 7 64-bit laptop.  HP Solution Center says that the printer is disconnected.  Furthermore, it can print some documents (short ones), but it was unable to print a 1-page 5MB pdf file.  The printer truncated the page after printing just the top 10%.   The printer is OK with my wife's Windows 7 32-bit laptop.
    I've seen many other people complain about similar problems in this and other forums.  Apparently the driver for J4500 printers is not compatible with Windows 7 64-bit.  Can HP please provide an updated driver or patch?

    Problem with two monitors while using Photoshop, windows move from 2nd screen to 1st screen.
    I saved a new workspace and it did not help.
    No problem before I went to Maverick.

    I found the fix, go to System Preferences and open Mission Control and uncheck the box to keep monitors as they were (When switching to an application...........)

  • Problem with JInitiator!!! - Urgent

    I have Windows 2000 Advanced Server with 4GB RAM and Oracle9iASR2. I'm running Forms&Reports9i services quite well. Now, I have a demand for using OLE integration and for WebUtil purpose I have to install Jinitiator 1.3.1.13, for instance. But when I start a Jinitiator installation, I just see an error message 111 which is telling me that I don't have enough memory, that I must release memory by killing some running application (no matters which one) and then repeat the installation procedure. At that moment I have about 3.8 GB free memory, at least!It's the same problem with some differrent version of Jinitiator. What's the problem? How can I bypass this? Please, help me, this is very urgent!
    Dejan

    Did you try a reboot of the client?
    Also, can you post a full error message , it sounds like this is coming from Windows...

    If I start the same package in Windows 8.1, no problems occur.
    Chrome is not the only package that I have problems with.
    I am still new in working with app-v.
    Has anyone experienced the same problem and found a solution for it?

    Hello,
    Since Windows 10 is in technical preview I would guess that this is not supported by anyone.
    Had one googled this the Three following top-topics would have showed up;

  • Persistant problems with FF 27.0.1 on Windows 7/64

    I seem to have a persistent problem with Firefox 27.0.1 and my MSN homepage. When I open FF, it takes me to both my Outlook Mail page and My MSN pages in two separate tabs. Outlook Mail had a problem taking my correct password, but that issue seems to have resolved itself (I did clear all cookies and caches related to the website). But My MSN is still giving me this message...
    "The page you have requested cannot be found.
    The web page you were attempting to view may not exist or may have moved — try checking the web address for typos."
    I tried the same thing as I did with Outlook (deleted cookies and caches), but the problem persists. I disabled all plugins, and still no luck. The MSN Homepage comes up, and I'm shown as logged into My MSN, but when I click the My MSN link, I get the "The page you have requested..." message.
    Another issue relating to both websites is password remembering. FF will NOT ask to remember the passwords for those sites. I have Remember Passwords box checked in Settings and it does for other sites, but not my Homepage(s). Clearing cookies/caches didn't help, and the password is not listed in the Remembered Passwords page of Settings.
    Finally, Firefox on my home laptop (Windows 7/64 as well) freezes and crashes a lot, as well as displayes a warning there is something with Flash, which I have updated many times over.
    I used to use Internet Explorer as a browser exclusively until I started having problems with certain websites not allowing me to log in. I realized it was not the website, but some incompatibility with IE. I started using Firefox, and fouind no problems, and heard it was more secure and easier to configure than Internet Explorer anyway. But since these problems started occurring (especially with NO way for me to log onto My MSN), I have to go back to using IE (except for select website logons), which is disappointing :-(.

    About your home page; Manually set up Firefox with the window(s) and tab(s)
    the way you want them to be. Then;
    '''''Firefox Options > General > Homepage'''''.
    Press the button labeled ''''Use Current'''.'
    =====================================
    Open a new window or tab. In the address bar, type '''''about:config'''''.
    If a warning screen comes up, press the '''''Be Careful''''' button.
    This is where Firefox finds information it needs to run.
    At the top of the screen is a search bar. Enter '''''browser.newtab.url'''''
    and press enter. '''''browser.newtab.url'''''
    tells Firefox what to show when a new tab is opened.
    If you want, right click and select '''''Modify'''''. You can change the
    setting to;<BR><BR>about:home (Firefox default home page),<BR>
    about:newtab (shows the sites most visited),<BR>
    about:blank (a blank page),<BR>
    or you can enter any web page you want.<BR><BR>
    The same instructions are used for the new window setting, listed as
    '''''browser.startup.homepage'''''.

  • Problems with text using Photoshop CC on Windows 8.1

    I am using Photoshop CC on Windows 8.1.  I get  flickering on the screen as described by others.  My main problem, however,  is that when I try to use the text tool the layer goes completely black and I cannot see what I am typing or edit the text.  I have tried updating my video card driver and my monitor driver.  I have deleted the font cache file, I have tried using Photoshop without plug ins (I use Nic plug ins).  The only thing that has worked is resetting the preferences by holding down alt+control+shift keys when starting photoshop.  This allows me to enter text normally on one photograph and one only.  Once I have completed that first photograph and load another I get the black layer.  I desperately need help.  If this continues I will have to cancel my membership as I was much better off using my Photoshop Elements 11 disc.
    Any help will be very gratefully appreciated...............help seems to be very difficult to come by Adobe you make it very difficult for your customers!

    Ok,I can appreciate that I may not have given enough information.  You state that without proper system information nobody can help, but I need to know what information is needed.  You also state that I should simply turn off hardware acceleration in the perfs.  What does that mean?  How do I do that? I have tried changing the GPU Drawing Mode to basic and it didn't work.  Is this what you mean?  You may be assuming a level of knowledge I do not have. From research I have done this seems to be a problem with windows 8.1 that Adobe have been aware of for about a year.  I have followed all the online advice I have been able to find but nothing seems to be working.

  • Problem with sap script table in main window

    hi all,
    i have created a sap script  for which output is in 7 pages.
    except first page all the remaining pages are giving the correct output.
    the problem with the first page is iam not not getting vertical lines in the table which is in the main window of page 1.
    iam getting the vertical lines correctly in the mainwindow table of all the remaining pages.

    Hi,
    It's simple,
    Pre- U should had declared a second page for the same window with header, main & footer.
    now
    First when u r looping the internal table provide no of rows eg Row 1 TO 10. in the Loop ( Data Tab)
    or
    when defing TEXT Go to PC Editor and mention all the fields Under  PROTECT -  ENDPROTECT.
    This would solve the issue.
    Thanks

  • Compatibility problem with USMT 6.3.9600 and Windows Vista

    Hi,
    We have a problem with USMT 6.3.9600 ()ADK 8.1) while running on Vista. At start we are receiving an error saying it is not a win32 application. USMT 6.2.9200 would work on Vista but not on Windows 8.1.
    Any workaround?

    For an example with multiple USMT versions, see:

  • Petition: problems with characters in mail sent to Windows computers

    Sign this petition by replying to this thread if you have problems with garbled characters when sending e-mails to Windows computers. Let Apple know It's a huge problem for non-English e-mailing customers and there is no way to definitively fix it.
    I'll start it off:
    Christoffer Du Rietz
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   17" last generation G4

    I'm not interested in knowing the gory technical
    details, I want Apple to fix the problem. The problem
    have existed for years. Non-english speaking Mac
    users run a high risk of sending e-mails that look
    like pure garbage on computers that use Windows. This
    does not help when trying to convince people that
    Macs are superior.
    I want Apple to fix Mail. Because it is
    2006!
    Your views are reasonable, but you need to send them to Apple, not just to the other users trying to provide help with problems in these forums. The channel for this is
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/feedback/
    You could also consider providing some feedback to MS. The longstanding bugs in Outlook that cause these problems represent really second-rate programming (even if it makes sense for Apple to somehow cater to them in Mail's behavior).

    I'm also having the same problem (on XP) on 10.1.3.4 I'm guessing this is a security issue but can anyone tell me how this can be resolved.

    Hi ,
    By using this code you have to Open Popup Window
    public void popup( )
    //@@begin popup()
    poplink=wdComponentAPI.getWindowManager().createModalWindow(wdComponentAPI.getComponentInfo().findInWindows("Wd_POPupwindow"));
    poplink.setWindowPosition(500,30);
    poplink.open();
    //@@end
    Wd_POPupwindow-- This is Window Name Under this window you can create in View that view having OK and Close Buttion.
    When click on Submit button that time you call the popup method. that time you will get popup window

  • Problems with Flash Player being recognized in Windows 8.1

    I downloaded the most current Window OS 8 (8.1) and afterwards I  started having issues with my Flash Player working. It says that I need to install the latest version of Flash which I have done and it recognizes that it is already installed on my system if I try again.I have also gone through the steps to enable Flash object in settings and ActiveX filter, as directed. Neither of these solutions made a difference. I am running a 64-bit system. Can you help?

    This is a known problem with Internet Exploder 11, which Microsoft has been aware of since October 18 when they released their latest "untested" browser. The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
    Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
    I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
    ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

    This looks like CSCte84743.
    Symptom:
    Installation of CiscoWorks LAN Management Solution fails when the installer is trying to configure CiscoWorks Assistant.  The error seen will be related to OpsConfUpdate.exe:
    The application has failed to start because GGShared.dll was not found.  Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
    Conditions:
    This can occur on Windows 2003 and 2008 servers.  The underlying root cause is still not known.
    Workaround:
    Configure the following registry key value:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer\DisableRollback : DWORD : 0x00000001
    Then, a clean installation of LMS should be performed.  Once LMS is installed, this registry key value should be removed.
    However, the problem with the page not found error could be CSCtb17186.  If you try Firefox and get a redirection error, then that would confirm this bug.
