Problem with keyfigure in Bex

Hi all,
i have two charactristics location and product in the rows and keyfigures,stock on hand ,inventory carrying costs in the rows.In the coulmns i have calweek.For stock on hand keyfigure i had applied the cumulative property so that it shows the net stock on hand for every week, the inventory carrying cost is a calculated keyfigure and it is calculted using stock on hand and a formula variable based on master data 0APO_LPROD(LOCATIONPRODUCT).
In the report the inventory carrying cost is getting calculated after calculating the stock on hand for all the calweeks which shouldnt happen.The inventory carring cost should get calculated for every week separately. So can anyone of you suggest why this is happening and how to solve this.

I hope ur reporting structure is as below:
Loc Prod Calweek
               Sotck | Inv. CC
            Mon |                Ssun |                     Tue
          Stock | Inv CC     Stock | Inv CC          Stock | Inv CC
A   B   10 | 20              15 | 5                       30 | 8
Now ur Inv cc is having Stock value for every week as
10 + 15 + 30. = 55
Correct me if i am wrong.
As per your query structure this thing should not happen.
First of all please update about the stock value that ur getting for every week is correct or not ??

I am facing Problem with my Bi Bex Analyzer 7.10 .
I have Windows 7 with Office 2007 insatlled on my Machine and SAP GUI 7.10 with patch 11.
When i Open the Bex Analyzer and click on OPEN Query, it shows me the German Laguage istead of English ( Open Query )
and the Open query Icon is not responding
Hence my Bex Analayzer is not working .
Is there any MS Office 2007 Patch that i have to istalled on the The Machine .

Hi Nilesh,
To see the text in English,you have to login to backend with Language as "EN" in the Logon Screen.
To make the icons work in Analysis and Design Toolbar,you can install in KB from Microsoft.

Close Analyzer,install this KB and then Launch Analyzer.
This will solve your issue.

Problem with '-' (dash) in BEx web analyzer

Hi All,
we are having a strange problem with 0BPartner and 0Material. Our BPartner and Material have '-'(dash) sign as part of key. While selecting this BPartner/Material in Bex Analyzer, we do not have any problem, but when we try to select the same Bpartner/Material in BEx Web Analyzer, it puts an escape char in from of the dash. For eg:
If i select the Bpartner "1234-5467" then in Web Analyzer selection box, it is displayed as "1234\-5467" in the selection screen.
If i do a search on 1234-5467, it returns zero value.But if i do a search on 1234\-5467, then i get the search hit.
If i enter the Bpartner in the selection window directly and If i do not put the escape char, then it considers the input as range 1234 - 5467 and returns me no value in the report output.
Has anyone had this type of issue? Please respond.

Sorry if you had misunderstood my question. They are 2 different Info objects. and i am having problem searching values in each one of these info objects.
Let me explain it with an example.
Scenario:
Let say company defines material in the following format.
"123", "456", "788", "345"....etc.
And I have a report which has material as input selection.
To run this report with single material i enter "123" in the selection screen
To run this report with a range of materials, I need to enter 123 - 456 in the selection.
I have no Issues
Scenario 2.
Consider a case if the materials are defined in SAP as "001-1234", "987-234"
"123-234" etc.
In this scenario, to run the same report for 1 material, i will enter 001-1234. But now the question is how will BW system interpret this material entry.
Is this 1 single material(001-1234) or a material range (001 - 1234)??
We have issue here. The system considers this material "001-1234" as a range (001 to 1234) instead of single material and gives me zero output.
Any help??

Problem with totals in Bex

Hi friends!
My cube has the char DATE_FIN related to the doc_number.
My query should show the difference in days between DATE_FIN and the Bex variable DATE_COMPARE (constant value).
This works ok when I show data with doc_number detail , ie:
Oficce    Doc_number          date_fin        date_compare         diff
A          1000               10/12/2010     12/12/2010           2
A          1001               09/12/2010     12/12/2010           3
B          1002               08/12/2010     12/12/2010           4
But I need suppress the doc_number char, and have total by Office, ie:
Oficce date_fin    date_compare         diff
A     10/12/2010     12/12/2010           5
B     08/12/2010     12/12/2010           4
The issue is that when I do it, the report show me u2018Xu2019 in the diff column
How can I solve this?

Try differents aggregations, all based on infoobject doc_number.
In your formala, in aggregation tab; set aggregation exception (exemple: Total).
This should work.

Problem with sap logon/bex

Hello Peoples,
I have a machine is the same with Windows Vista Home Premium, sap logon 7.10 - patch 11
Access to the SAP system is perfect, but when I try to open the Bex query designer after informing username and password I get the error of communication rfc.
Can you please tell me know how can I fix this error? or if Bex is compatible with Vista Home Premium?

Hi,
Yes,BEx is compatible with Vista Home Premium Edition.
You will get an RFC Communication Error,if the backend system is down or if you enter the language as blank(sometimes) in the SAP Logon.
Try opening other tools like WAD,RD and Analyzer and connect with backend and check whether it works or not.Try opening QD from WAD or Analyzer
This is not tool specific anyway.

Crystal Reports - Problem with too long BEx Query technical variable names?

I have Crystal Reports 2008 SP3 and the SAP BO Integration Kit XI 3.1 SP3 installed and want to access a BEx query on a BW system within my Crystal Report.
The problem is that the name of the BEx variable is not displayed correctly (just "[]" is displayed for the variable name) as a parameter within Crystal Reports when I import the query. Furthermore I can't navigate through the fields of the query within Crystal Reports.
The technical names of the BEx query-variables have a length of 12 characters.
The interessting thing is that if I change the technical names of the BEx query variables to a maximum length of 8 characters everything works fine.
I use the SAP toolbar within Crystal Reports 2008 to create the report and have the "MDX-driver"-setting selected.
Has anyone ever had the same problem? Any suggestions?
I don't want to change the technical names of the variables of my queries...

Problem with Graphs

We are facing a strange problem with graphs in BeX.
We are making graph on summarized data and storing it in workbooks.The problem im facing is that whenever the query is refreshed the Graph gets scattered.for e.g X axis becomes Y and things like that,

Performance problems with SAP GUI 7.10 and BEx 3.5 Patch 400?

Hi everybody,
we installed SAP GUI 7.10 and BEx 3.5 Patch 400 and detected hugh performance problems with this version in comparison to the SAP GUI 6.40 and BEx 3.5 or BEx 7.0 Patch 800.
Does anybody detect the same problems?

Button in Bex Analyser 7.0 - problem with setting up Static Parameters

Hello,
I know a similar problem has been discussed here already, but I am still having problems with setting up Static Parameters of my Button in BEx Analyser 7.0, so that I can pass Variable values from that button to my query.
This is what I do - in Static Parameters of my Button I set the following values:
Name                          Index          Value
DATA_PROVIDER        0               DP_1
CMD                             0               PROCESS_VARIABLES
SUBCMD                      0               VAR_SUBMIT
VAR_NAME                 0               0RMA_FIP
VAR_VALUE               0               004/2010
As a result, I would like the value 004/2010 to be passed to variable 0RMA_FIP (which is mandatory) and the query to be executed with that value. For some reason, however, the value is not passed correctly, and instead the variable is filled with a blank or not filled at all, and I am getting a message "Specifiy value for variable Fiscal year/period". What do I do wrong?
Just to give you a broader picture - I would like to later use this logic to pass more than one variables into a query, including a hierarchy node, and read the values from an Excel worksheet - however, after many attempts to do so, I started playing with just one variable to figure out what the problem was.
I have already seen the following two threads and SAP notes on passing variable values from the button:

I managed to figure it out myself!
Instead of VAR_VALUE I need to enter VAR_VALUE_EXT, and it works fine.

Problem with BEx Analyzer

I have a problem with the Bex Analyzer. It is showing th details in German Language and i am not able to do anything on it.

I also faced same problem, but i Installed latest patch so i got solved my problem.
But if you are running Office 2003 then you required patch from Microsoft. that is related to frame work.

Performance problem with Integration with COGNOS and Bex

I have a performance problem with some of my queries when integrating with the COGNOS
My query is simple which gets the data for the date interval : "
From Date: 20070101
To date:20070829
When executing the query in the Bex it takes 2mins but when it is executed in the COGNOS it takes almost 10mins and above..
Any where can we debug the report how the data is sending to the cognos. Like debugging the OLEDB ..
and how to increase the performance.. of the query in the Cognos ..

Hi,
Please check the following CA Unicenter config files on the SunMC server:
- is the Event Adapter (ea-start) running ?, without these daemon no event forwarding is done the CA Unicenter nor discover from Ca unicenter is working.
How to debug:
- run ea-start in debug mode:
# /opt/SUNWsymon/SunMC-TNG/sbin/ea-start -d9
- check if the Event Adaptor is been setup,
# /var/opt/SUNWsymon/SunMC-TNG/cfg_sunmctotng
- check the CA log file
# /var/opt/SUNWsymon/SunMC-TNG/SunMCToTngAdaptorMain.log
After that is all fine check this side it explains how to discover an SunMC agent from CA Unicenter.

Problems with URLs generated for My/BEx Portfolio in a FPN

Has andone successfully configured a FPN that uses My/BEx Porfolio?
We are facing a problem with the URLs generated when launching a BEx web query stored in either My Portfolio or BEx Portfolio after it has been saved from the BEx Web Analyzer. After saving the KM document in My/BEx Portfolio in BEx Analyzer attempts to execute the link from the Portfolio IView result in "Page not found or not avaialble". The KM document appears to be correct as it can be opened correctly from the BEx Analyzer template.
Current Setup:
Consumer Portal: EP 7 (SP17)
Producer Portal: EP 7 (SP17 patch 11)
BW System: BI 7 (SPS16, BW SP18)
SSO and Trusts are configured and working.
WebDav is configured to store BEx Portfolio entries on the Consumer
Currently RSPOR_T_PORTAL is configured with hostname of Producer, however it was initially configured with Consumer host, resulting in the same problem, though this should not matter, as the RDL IView is used regardless of the setup.
Scenario:
Existing Roles have been imported from BW System into Producer Portal, the roles are not used, only the imported IViews
IViews of the Queries have been included in Consumer Roles using RDL
IView has been added to this role to display local BEx Portfolio links
RDL IView has been added to this role to display Producer My Portfolio links
1. Launch IView of Query included in Role
2. Use Save As functionality to store KM document in My Portfolio or Bex Portfolio
3. Open the cooresponding Portfolio IView and click on the link

Hi Aparna,
try to open the query in RSRT and debug the query.the error is due to some customer exit variable so try to debug the code for the variable and rectify it.

Problem with BEx Web Application Designer

Hi,
we use since last week the Web Application Designer with the SAP GUI 7.2.
Now I have a big problem since last week. I can call existing templates but unfortunately not change! I make a change in the template and save it. When I viewed the template again but no change is saved!
A new template I can create and change
Does anyone know the problem? The behavior also occurs with the old Gui 7.1.

Hi Jana,
Do you get any error before opening of an existing template in WAD? Doesn't look to be a problem with the different SAP GUI versions. Maybe somethings gone wrong with the Java - ABAP config settings or Java Portal communication settings. Maybe you should check with your BASIS team on the same. Tell them what the problem is & they will run a trace to figure out.

Problem with a ratio

Greetings Gurus.
I have a problem with a ratio, this load in BW, but when reporting it in the BEX Analyzer, this is well-off, for example in the cube I have 83.7, in BEX gives 84, this ratio this associate to a unit of measurement, if somebody can help to solve this problem me I will thank for it.

can try to set decimal point for that keyfigure(s) ?
2 ways :
1. in infoobject keyfigure maintenance (transaction rsd1), tab 'additional properties' >> 'business explorer' >> decimal places
2. from BEx Analyzer, change query >> right click your keyfigure >> properties >> number of decimal places
