Problem with latest z620 bios
Hmm, i'm always saddened just a little when i hear that a BIOS update seems to be problematic. Sounds like HP quality control w.r.t. BIOS testing slips yet again. All i can suggest is clear NVRAM and try again, if your lucky, then it should sort itself out but i wont hold my breath.
HP has released a Custoemr Advisory at:http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=5225033&docId=emr_na-c04743732&docLocale=en_US Please follow the instrution in the RESOLUTION.-Update system to BIOS version 3.88
-If you receive the F1 prompt for "Thermal Sensor Not Programmed", follow the steps below:
1. Remove AC power from the system
2. Press front power button to bleed off remaining stored energy. Continue to press until no lights appear on the front power button LED.
3. Plug AC cable back into system and press the power button.
4. If condition persists, contact HP support.

Problems with latest version of Muse
I'd like to report some problems with latest version of Muse. Its actually all related with scroll effect.
1. In previous version I had a group of rectangles and when I added to them motion (initial motion: 0 everywhere, final motion: 0 everywhere) they where sliding nicely down during scrolling my page, and it happened only in y line (horizontally). Now its moving also on the right and left, when I am changing size of window. Other thing is that in firefox this group of rectangles is pinned to bottom of window.
2. I have footer that I want to be always pinned to the bottom of window. The footer is a group of objects: rectangle + one png file with hyperlink, and one text with hyperlink - and of course it worked perfectly in previous version, but now finally when I export the page I have only the rectangle without hyperlink on the bottom of the page and the rest is missing.
I hope I explained it clearly? I did my best :-)I have a same problem like no.2.
Finally, I fixed it.
First, You have to ungroup the footer objecs.
Second, Group again that.
Then export your site.
Please try this!
I hope this will be of some help. -
Latest version is not very good! I am using Firefox and have just installed the latest version (11,7,700,224). Playing Forge of Empires it is massively laggy, can wait for several minutes before it accepts mouse clicks (when scrolling so far as I can see - it just blocks); and the bug which causes it to crash whenever the screen is turned off is still there.
tHIS IS MY PROBLEM:
I have problems with adobe flash 11.7.700.224 that it is causing my Mozilla Firefox to constantly crash, 20 times in 5 seconds. And now I have another problem with adobe flash that it interfears with Mozilla Firefox making it not to work.

Problem with latest -004 AirPort Update
Hello: Downloaded and installed the 10/26 AirPort 004 update on a Early 2008 Mac Pro directly connected to the latest APE(n). Internet still wotks fine but I cannot access the APE using the AP utility--no devices seen. Wasn't this the problem with the -003 update???
AFSIf the file appears in HD/Library/Updates, then delete it and try updating again.
Recently, I installed third party software that trashed OS X 10.5.5 and I was forced to re-install the original OS X 10.5.2 (CD) as a fresh new install.
After the install, the software update OS X 10.5.5 Combo would not Validate. The download version in dmg format also failed verification.
I re-installed 10.5.2 again and ran into the exact same problems.
For the third time, I again installed the original 10.5.2, this time I used Disc Utility to check the drive, this found problems with permissions in this new fresh install and was duly repaired.
TechTool Deluxe (AppleCare Protection Plan) was then used to check that everything was indeed OK.
Screensaver was then turned off along with Energy Saver prior to the Software Update and a successful validated update to 10.5.5 resulted.
When updating the rest of the software everything updated properly except for the Java Update which would not validate.
I set Software Update to ignore the Java Update and again, used Disc Utility which again found permission problems that had to be repaired.
I then downloaded the dmg version of Java Update which installed without a hitch.
Software Updates appear to be Apple's achilles heel, but no worse than any other OS.
Unfortunately, the slightest glitch will compromise a software download or it's installation from any source, one has absolutely no control of this process except for pushing buttons.
The best download software I have used is Star Downloader, for Windows, this downloads from a number of servers simultaneously then re-assembles the separate downloads as one file. I have never had it fail.
I no longer use any of Microsoft's hardware or software, I am so happy with my iMac and Apple's efforts.
I will follow your post with interest.

Itunes match problems with latest Apple TV
I have a strange problem with iTunes Match on Apple TV (the Latest Apple TV)
My ipad lists all of my iTunes Match songs, about 10000 or so songs, where as my Apple TV only lists 50 songs.
I have rebooted Apple TV numerous times.
I have upgraded Apple TV and fiddled with Apple tv settings.
My Apple TV can find all music when my Mac and iTunes is turned on, but can only find 50 songs through iTunes match.
My ipad is on ios6.
Please help me fix this Apple TV problem.Welcome to the Apple Community.
You need to set up homesharing on both devices using the same ID and password.
Make sure they are on the same network and that your firewall or security software isn't blocking iTunes. -
Problem with latest 1.2.1 update for Ipod
After updating my 5th gen Ipod (30G) with the latest 1.2.1 software release - it gets stuck when browsing my songs. After this I tried the full restore option, and put only 10 songs on the Ipod - after a few clicks it got stuck again. I can reset the Ipod - after this it works for another few minutes depending how much I browse. Anyone else who has this problem with 1.2.1? Please help.
Having taken my ailing iPod to an Apple store and had it checked over by one of the experts in the Genius Bar I was told it was the hard drive that was malfunctioning. If your iPods are whirring and clicking and generally sounding like they are groaning rather than speeding into action I would highly recommend you get in touch with Apple. Mine was still under warranty and they were happy to replace it with a brand new one (not a reconditioned one) which works perfectly even with that dodgy software update installed. The fact my machine was freezing and playing up was caused by the hard drive and not the software apparently. Good luck!

USB problem with K8N Platinum BIOS 1.C
I was running the beta BIOS 1.CA to fix a problem with one of my CPU cores not being detected on a warm boot and it worked great.
When I noticed the official release BIOS 1.C I upgraded but I noticed problems with my USB mouse and keyboard sticking occasionally, the keyboard sometimes needed two or three presses to type and I was losing mouse clicks, gone back to the beta 1.CA BIOS and everything is fine again.
Anyone else noticed this with 1.C BIOS?Yes, I've gone back to the beta BIOS now and everything's fine
I only upgraded to the release version because usually releases are more stable than betas, obviously in this case the reverse is true -
Having problems with latest McAffee SiteAdvisor version
RE: Firefox 3.6.15; McAfee SiteAdvisor v3.3.1.125 --- Firefox and the extension/addon McAfee SiteAdvisor v3.3.0.176 was working fine - no problems. However, since the release of 3.3.1.119 and 3.3.1.125, either Firefox or SiteAdvisor are not working together. I have had to disable SiteAdvisor for Firefox to run properly. I was wondering if anyone else is having problems with SiteAdvisor. Thanks.
I have a same problem like no.2.
Finally, I fixed it.
First, You have to ungroup the footer objecs.
Second, Group again that.

Problems with latest update - backing up
After reading all the previous postings regarding the problems with the new update, I now realise that I am not alone in this and that the whole update is a complete mess! I think I will continue with my previous version and see what apple come up with. But what I do need to do is backup my music and I was going to do this using discs, but obviously I cannot now do it this way because the option has been taken away from me. (my itunes updated without a problem hence the back-up disc option disappearing, but my husband received the same message about errors and will not install so he still has the disc option, confusing I know!! ) If I chose "export library" from itunes is this the way to go to back-up to external hard drive? Also, I have not knowing backed up my music at any time, is it right that all music in my itunes library is automatically backed up somewhere on my computer and that if I uninstall itunes and then reinstall it, the library will automatically be added once installation has taken place?? You have probably realised, computers are not my strong point !!

you can easily back up your library to an external HD. just copy the entire iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music or media folder) to it, then use SyncToy to keep both folders in sync.
SyncToy
SyncToy 2.1 is a free application that synchronizes files and folders between locations. Typical uses include sharing files, such as photos, with other computers and creating backup copies of files and folders. -
Is anyone else having majors problems with latest update?!?
I love my Droid X and have never had problems with it until now. My phone had been pestering me about the update so I finally let it. Then I didn't like the look of the main screen, but I liked the index down the side of the contacts and the new keyboard when texting (except the smiley face was missing). But then I started noticing problems, I can't move my contacts to groups and I can't take pictures. I have a constant notification that says 'Blank SD card SD card blank or has unsupported filesystem" and when I try to take a picture I get a message that says "Please insert sd card before using the camera". Is there any way to remove the update without erasing everything on my phone? I'm really not happy with Verizon giving us an update with these kinds of problems. I want a new update asap that undoes the last one.

Sorry, you can't go backwards. However, it appears that you might have a bad SD card. If your computer can read cards, check it out. If not, go to your VZ store and have them check out your SD card. If your card is bad, that is what might be causing you all your headaches.
The store will DO NOTHING for you if you are getting a message saying your SD card is having problems, so don't even go there as they will pretty much tell you that you are out of luck - VZW's official stance on the SD card issue is that it is not their problem. You're better off going and buying your very own SD card, althoug these will have problems also
I started having problems with my SD card when the GB update came out back in August....the original SD card the phone came with completely corrupted, I bought a new card of my very own (since both 800 support and the VZW pretty much told me I was out of luck and laughed me out the door), which had problems as well, getting a message in both late August and mid-Sept that the card had problems and to reformat it. I seriously believe the phone itself, if not the update, is causing problems with the SD card. SD cards don't have problems like this....yes they fail just like anything else, but to have had one card go corrupt and another one give a damaged message all within a months time? Sorry that's not the cards.... -
Problem with 10.10.2 update. Getting grey screen. Have tried safe boot but got same result.
Mac OS X- Gray screen appears during startup
Question (?) Mark, Blinking Folder, or Gray Screen at Startup
These are related but not identical issues. Their causes are outlined in Intel-based Mac- Startup sequence and error codes, symbols. Solutions may be found in:
A flashing question mark appears when you start your Mac
Mac OS X- Gray screen appears during startup
In most cases the problems may be caused by one or more of these:
a. Problem with the computer's PRAM - See Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM.
b. Boot drive's directory has been corrupted - Repair with Disk Utility.
c. Critical system files are damaged or deleted - Reinstall OS X.
d. The disk drive is physically non-functional - Replace the hard drive.
Note that the information I have provided is what Apple recommends, If other users suggest different solutions than found here, then be sure what they recommend does not impact on your warranty, if any, or ability to get continuing Apple service.
Please don't start removing drives or changing cables unless you know what you are doing and have exhausted other non-invasive alternatives outlined here. If you perform any work yourself that is unapproved by Apple, then you will void any warranty you may have and lose all further Apple Support.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
The main difference if you are using Lion or Mountain Lion is that you must first boot from the Recovery HD. Simply boot from the Recovery HD to perform the above.
Reinstall Snow Leopard Without Erasing The drive
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing The Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless. -
Problem with 2.26 Bios Update Z61t
I installed Vista and then updated the bios to the latest version (2.26) which touts as one of its highlights:
(Fix) (On Windows Vista) The Fn+Home/End key operation to adjust the screen brightness does not work when the lid is closed to enter sleep mode with battery-powered and the AC adapter is attached to the computer with the lid closed and then the lid is opened to resume normal operation.
Well, this is exactly the problem I am having post-2.26. When I enter standby (close lid) and resume later, the brightness drops down to the lowest setting and thinks it's at the highest. It will not respond to the Fn+Home/End keys or the power manager. It also disables my wireless connection so that I have to manually turn it back on at resume. I am typing this on a dim screen at the moment. I will have to completely restart to regain my brightness controls.
Any fixes? Suggestions?Oh, I also went into the BIOS itself and tried disabling the screen dimmer (which is an option) but that had no effect. It's still doing it. I wish I could at least figure out a way to re-engage the brightness without rebooting.
