PROBLEM WITH LENGTH OF IBOOKS SAMPLE...

My book was just picked up by iBooks through Smashwords but iBooks has published my entire text as a Sample. They left the rest of the book but it is just a directory...Please advise. I do not have contact info for iBooks and I realize that I am not supposwd to contact them directly. However, I do want to submit an alternate sample.

I agree. I will follow up with them again. They are a great help with ebook publishing but this is a problem....They ask for an approved sample length which is what they have on their site but said they have no control over the sample size used by iBooks...

I am producing an epub 3 fixed layout ebook. My query is whether there is a known issue with epub 3 and the old version of iBooks - iBooks 2.
The epub has passed verification with epubcheck 3.0.1 and I have viewed the file on my iPad with iBooks 3.2 as well as on iBooks on my Mac, and also through the Chrome browser using Readium. In all cases the layout is fine. But when the file is downloaded onto an old iPad using iBooks 2, the layout is all mixed up. The iPad says that its operating system of OS.5 is up-to-date , and will not allow it to be updated, and thus it's impossible to update iBooks to versions 3.
So my question is whether this is a known issue with fixed layout epub 3 and versions 2 of iBooks, and if so whether there is a work around to allow fixed layout epub 3 to be read on iBooks2.

I have an image of a map, each country has a text which links to the corresponding chapter to that country. The connection is made via a text link that connects to a box, which I am using to make a black background the size of the entire page, this box is labeled as diagram (info panel) and the text link connects directly to her.
I have already put all the links in the upper layer as you suggested, but it did not work.

Problem with length of 45 in RSPARAMS for RS_VARIANT_CONTENTS FM

Hi experts,
While using the function module RS_VARIANT_CONTENTS to fetch the contents of variant, it is returning the values upto 45 characters as the internal table is of type RSPARAMS and the low and high values are of 45 characters in length.
This will create a problem especially if you use a file path on the selection screen with length more than 45 characters and while using the FM, it returns the value of the file only up to 45 characters.
I also tried another solution provided in the forum like below using import statement and database cluster but it is still returning 45 characters.
Can some body help on this issue please?
I have searched the entire forum for this problem..I could see some answers but they don't resolve the problem yet.

Big problems with creative webcam instant (sample included)

yesterday i purchased a creative webcam instant, and i am dissapointed in the quality of the video.
The frame rate is great, however there is artifacting and the video jumps around all over the place.
I have never had a problem with any other imaging devices before, so i cant see why this is happening with this camera.
This happens with the creative webcam center, and also in any other application that uses video from the camera (such as any instant messenger program)

Problems with Downloading on iBook

Hi all,
I'm having a problem with downloading files (any files, not just music files with Acquisition, but anything I try to download). They aren't fully downloading, and the message in the download box says that the file can't be created.
I've just had to switch all my files from one user account to another, and was wondering if this was a problem resulting from that, or if it's something else.
Also, can someone help me fix it?

Locate the download folder in the Finder; by default, this is the desktop. Once you've found this folder, select it and choose Get Info from the File menu. Under Ownership & Permissions, change the owner to yourself and give yourself read and write access. If you can't change the permissions, you may need to change the owner to yourself first; changing the owner requires that you are logged in as an administrator, and that you enter your password.
Your issue may result from having moved your files between accounts; it also sometimes happens for no apparent reason.

I'm new to jDeveloper.
I've downloaded the version 11.1.1.2.0 and tried to do my first tutorials with the product.
I started with the sample 'Build Applications with EJB, JPA and JSF' and run to following problems:
- Part1: Step 10 expose the EJb as a Data Control
Here right-click FODFacadeBean.java and choose Create Data Control.
this option 'Create Data Control' does not come up at all. There is not such option
- Part 2: Step 1 Add Tag Libraries to a project
The option to select ' ADF Faces Components 11 '
does not come up either. I can not see any ADF related options...
Is there something missing from my installation, as I can not access these ADF components ?
Should I include the ADF components at some stage during the installation to be able to access these
or is this some licencing option ?

I'm learning to use SAX API in order to insert large XML files into database. I'm trying to run sample xdksample_040602.zip (data stream sample using pl/sql and
SAX). Everything runs fine until I run "ExDocumentTest.sql" file. I get this error:

I took a look into the etc/config.xml file and the path location of HelloWorldService.wsdl is fine as follows

BUT.. after "ant build", the path in th config.xml file automatically change for:

Anybody knows how to solve this problem

I guess you need some changes in your build script.
One solution would be to specify correct value for location attribute in your config.xml and then
uncomment the call to "edit-config" target as show below in your build.xml file:

Problem with Oracle9iAS SOAP EJB Sample

I have tried testing the stateless/stateful EJB soap services sample in Oracle9iAS SOAP server.
I have changed the provider.xml. Deployed that and the service.xml and put the sample.jar in the lib directory.
when i run the testit.bat, I get the following error :
Ouch, the call failed:
Fault Code = SOAP-ENV:Server
Fault String = Error in connecting to EJB [java.lang.SecurityException]
Can anyone help me out in this ??

When deploying to Oracle9iAS you will likely have to change the RMI port, hostname and password. For example,
a default 9iAS install has EJB's listening on RMI ports 3101 - 3200. For this to hook up you need to pick a port (e.g. 3102) with the appropriate host and password and it should hang together.
What some people do is change the ports to not be dynamic and set it to a specific port as it is with the OC4J stand-alone instance. You can check out the opmnctl command in the <Oracle9iAS_home>\opmn\bin directory to reload the opmn.xml file located in the <Oracle9iAS_home>\opmn\conf directory to do this or more safely use Enterprise Manager to change the RMI ports for the OC4J instance you are using.

You don't have to do anything special for this. Make your images 1024 x 768. A tap on an image will expand it to full screen.

Importing from photo booth, problems with length and sound

I have a 15 min (277 MB) video clip from photo booth that I would like to post to youtube. I can't get it to work and have been wrestling with a few different programs:
When opening the clip in Quicktime, there is no sound. I can open with VLC media player and the sound is fine.
The clip is too long to import to youtube, so i need to edit it into two sections. However, when try to import the clip into iMovie HD 6, the program crashes (maybe because it is again too long?).
So I purchased Quicktime pro so I could edit the clip. I am able to do this fine, but still have the sound problem. When I saved the edited version, and try to open with VLC, still no sound. Same with iMovie, I can import the smaller clip, but no sound.
I now realize that photobooth is less than ideal for long clips...but we got carried away.
Any input would be appreciated!

I use KDE, but I had sound issues too when I tried Gnome, and just couldn't get it to work right (One of the reasons I use KDE) but if I remember correctly, I needed to install the esd sound daemon and add it to /etc/rc.conf to get sound in gnome.

I can't seem to run the .NET client that is supplied with the interop samples
in the workshop that demonstrates the use of a .NET client with an asnyc WebLogic
web service. Everytime I run the .NET client, it prompts me to save a file called
"ConversationClient.asmx" and if I open it, its opened in VS .NET. Any ideas/suggestions?

provides detailed instructions for running that example. Please follow the

Problem with length of Textfield when converted to Bitmap

im using this code from the docs

Did you make the myBitmapData bigger on subsequent occasions?
BitmapData(80, 20); means 80 pixels wide by 20 high : if your
textfield gets bigger than that then it won't fit onto the
bitmapdata

Problem with comic in iBooks

I recently downloaded a comic on iBooks for my iPhone 4s, but unfortunately the pages only half load, leaving most of the page completely gray while having a small top part of the image displayed. I have deleted and redownloaded the comic to no avail. I have also deleted and reinstalled iBooks to no avail. Nothing seems to fix this!

Your Sony reader uses a different DRM than those supported by iBooks.
