Problem with linksys EA2700

I've got a problem with my linksys ea2700. one time my network components get an ip-address like 192.168.x.x, the other time they get an ipaddres 10.184.x..x, I want that all my components will get the 10.184.x.x address, how can I solve this problem?

If your modem has a capability to be a DHCP server then just configure your EA2700 router as bridged. In that way, the EA2700 router will just act as a pass through device.

  • Problems with linksys EA2700 and software issues

    Hello
Once I setup the EA2700 wireless router, I was able to setup my Iphone and Ipad and use the internet.  Problem is no one else can.  I setup the conncetion and use the password on their devices but to no avail. I tried to access the tool software and it keeps coming up with browser not supported, load the newest version of windows, which is strange since it had no issues when I first installed it.  I am using Windows 7 Home Premium and have Internet Explorer 11.
    Any help is appreciated
    James

Hi jcargile. That’s seems odd, because the minimum system requirements for windows web browser is Internet Explorer 8 or higher. You may try using a different browser (Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome) and then access the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi page again. Once you’re in, you may play with the wireless settings of the router. You can try using channels 11, 6, 3, 9, or 1, pick the one with the best result. By the way, what is the security set on the router? Because most of the time the security set on the router, play a big part.

  • Has anyone had any problem with Linksys?

I haven been trying to connect to my Linksys with speedbooster and I can't figure it out. My entire life I have never used an apple computer.
I have called the Linksys support people and they tell me the same thing: "We don't provide support for apple computers." That's great hugh?!!
I am able to connect to the router without a WAP or WEP password but I don't want to leave a free signal around my area.
This routers come with different WAP codes, also with Radial and WEP that is hard to know which one is the right one.
Do you guys have any idea how I could be able to solve this problem? Has any of you guys have encounter something like this with Linksys?

If your Mac is truly running MacOS 10.2.x, you are limited to using 128-bit WEP security - WPA is not supported.
On the Linksys router, select 128-bit WEP and enter a passphrase. The router will generate, from the passphrase, four hexadecimal-format WEP keys. Copy down the FIRST of those four WEP keys - and use that WEP key on your Mac when prompted.

  • Ios7, ios8 wifi problem with Linksys WAP54G

I have 4 apple wireless devices (iPad mini, iPad 2, iPhone 4, iPhone5) in my house.     I have about 8 other wireless devices (non-apple).   I have a Linksys WAP54G wireless access point (on the latest software 3.08.06).
Everything worked just dandy until I upgraded to iOS7.   At that point, all apple wireless devices did the same thing:  After a random amount of idle time,  picking them back up again, they'd be disconnected from the network.   They all claimed they were connected to the wireless network, had an actual valid IP address from the WAP, but would not access the network.   Just spins.    Only solution is to deactivate wireless on the device, and re-activate.   Now works fine until the next random time it drops it again.
I figured this would be fixed in iOS8.  No luck.
All other devices of different types (windows 8 lenovo laptops, Roku boxes, Tivo boxes, Nest thermostat, etc...) ALL have always connected just fine to the wireless network, and the Apple devices USED TO until iOS7.
Clearly they broke something in iOS7, and it is still broken in iOS8.
I realize this is an old WAP, but come on.
anyone else have this issue?    Apple, what did you break and why can't you fix it?
    thanks
    tom

I am in the UK and have one of the fastest fibre optic broadband on the market but have the same issue with my iPad air since downloading ios8. I can no longer watch Netflix and pages close, or just go incredibly slow. Apple are you going to get this fixed. My iPad drops outs of my broadband connection and buffers constantly yet I have no problem with other devices.
    thanks

  • Problems with linksys wireless router please help!

Me and my 2 flat mates share a wireless network, and for some reasons if cannot connect to it. I have vista home premium and a belkin dongle. We used a Linksys router to begin with, not sure which model, but we recently had to buy a new one because that did not belong to us. I can see the network so the dongle picks up the signal but every time I connect and put in the network key I either get Not close enough to the net work point (the router is about 5 meters away) The network key is incorrect (I created the password and it works on the other two people lap tops) The network has timed out. Sometimes I can connect to the network for a moment then it kicks me off. The connection wizard shows the network at full signal. I’m not sure what the problem is, I have done a full restore on my computer and the dongle was installed onto my computer via the disc it came with. I do have another dongle that is a Linksys one; however it does the same thing. Not sure what the problem is here, can anyone help before I have to go out and buy long network cable and have wires all over my flat i have a heap of work that needs doing this week so any ideas would be really helpfull

I would first try and bring your computer (if possible) closer to the connection point. That way it will have full time to connect. Also sometimes some materials in the walls mess with connections due to the type of material.  Sometimes if your IP address is not quite right you will connect but then get booted offline. Sometimes if you don’t broadcast your ssid you cannot connect. (one of my Visa Networks does this ssid broadcast must be on).
Are you using WPA or WEP because Sometimes WEP is not as stable with some wireless modems/ so changing to WPA might solve your problem

  • Problem with linksys repeater

I am using a linksysWR54 G wireless router. I recently purchased a linksys repeater to extend a signal throughout my house. I cannot get the repeater to work. I press the reset button and then the button for automatic configuration. But it does not seem to recognize the wireless router. However when I take it to my neighbor's house, who has a similar model wireless router, and push reset, then automatic configuration at his house it functions perfectly. Is this a software problem? I hate to sound stupid, but because I using a Macintosh, I'm not even sure how to download the latest software or what is available. Currently I am using
    version 3.03.6 thanks

Although I am having a similiar problem with the wre54g extender and mac laptops I can tell you that the easiest way to configure the extender if it is a Version 2 wre54g is to run an ethernet cable from the router to to the port on the front of the extender (small tab can be lifted). After that open your browser and type 192.168.1.240 and enter, user name is blank and password is admin. From there configure it exactly as your router is configured. It could be that your router is encrypted etc...
If it is a version 1 you will have to reset the extender (paperclip for 15 seconds on side) then plug into a socket and look for it on the list of available networks (linksys r.....). connect to it using a static IP of 192.168.1.5 and a gateway of 255.255.255.0 - check with linksys to verify. Once connected open safari and type 192.168.1.240 and follow above.
Make sure to change the ip address to something like 241 or maybe a static within the range of the routers addressing scheme. I think this is the problem I am having... The mac is not picking up the extenders ip. I am waiting to hear back from tech support to verify.
    Hope this helps

  • Persistent problems with Linksys WRT54GS Wireless Router

I'm currently running Vista with a Linksys WRT54GS router. As earlier discussed in this forum I am still having intermittent problems with the ATV taking down my network. Anyone else experienced this and come up with a sure fire fix?
When it's working I like the set up but I have to say, it is not nearly stable enough to be an everyday solution for getting my music and photos to my living room.
    Thanks.

Hi, I am having the same problem -- my 2WIRE modem from AT&T recently blew up. So, I purchased the WRT54GS. As soon as I reconnected the AppleTV to the new router via a wireless connection, all of my machines (Mac and PC) lost their internet connections. I'm seriously considering going out and getting another 2WIRE.

  • WPA2 Problems with Linksys WAG120N Router

    Hi,
with this router (wpa2 and b+g+n) the connection lost after minutes and the routers hangs up.
I will test today with b+g.
Does anyone also have problems with this router and the pb?
    I don't want use WPA.
    Regards
    Volker

I had problem with my Router... The playbook would not see the router, or when it would it would disconnect after a few seconds.. I changed one setting and fixed it. All I did was change the wireless channel it was set at 12 - changed it to 2 and it connects every single time now. I didn't change the wireless type or encryption, just the channel and it works 100% now. I did a few tests and it seems to work fine in any channel apart from 12 (maybe RIM didn't think anyone would use that?) If your set to automatic, worth setting it manually just in case. So worth checking.

  • Constant Problems With Linksys Wirless Router

Ever since I bought this Linksys Wireless Router it's been the same ordeal. At certain times, depending on what websites I visit, it will knock me right off the internet and I can't get back on unless I restart my computer. It is so aggravating and annoying and takes like 10 minutes to restart each time. I was assured that the Linksys Wireless Router I bought was compatible with Vista. I've had this same problem ever since I bought it. I've talked to tons of technical support staff and none of them know anything. They all give me a different reason. They tell me I need to download new drivers or the latest version or whatever else, but nothing works. The same problem persists. One thing I have learned is that I get knocked off by going on specific websites. So, in order to use the Internet, I must avoid these known websites that cause me to get knocked off the Internet. I can try and reconnect, but it always says that no network connections are available afterwards, and I must restart my whole computer to get back on the Internet. I am perfectly fine going on these known websites on my other computer that has the actual modem/router hook up. Anyone know why this happens and if there's anyway to fix this? If not I am just going buy me a whole new router/modem cause I am tired of this crap. Thanks, Blake

  • Problem with Linksys wrt300n

    Hello all,
I have a problem for a long period of time with my WRT300N wireless router.
It works fine until it just disconnects the wireless client (3COM USB adapter). In order to restore connectivity I have to unplug power from the router and plug it back.
Although it seems as a router problem, immediately after the client got disconnected I've tried to connect to the router with a laptop and it failed to connect, so I became pretty sure that it is a router issue.
I've searched for an updated firmware and it seems to be 2.00.17 which is what I have. There is source code available for 2.00.18 but no compiled and ready to use file (I'm not a programmer so I don't know how to do that, though if someone will provide me with instructions I'll be glad to try).
If somebody has an advice for me and\or a link for an updated version I'll be grateful.
    Many thanks,
    Max.

After the upgrade, it is recommended to reset and reconfigure the Linksys router. Make sure also you remove network profiles on your android devices before trying to connect again.

  • Problem with Linksys Router Model WRT110 Not Assigning IPs With DHCP?

    Hello,
I recently purchased this router (WRT110) to take the place of my old Belkin that was continually dropping connections (which was a real pain when trying to download stuff off the Internet).
However, I cannot get this router to assign IPs to wired or wireless computers. I spent around 2 hours talking to Linksys support technicians (two total) before they finally told me the router was defective.
So, I went back to the store and got an exchange. But, it's the same story with this router, the connections can't get past the "acquiring network address" stage in the connection process.
I would like to think that this has more to do with my ISP than the router, but if I set up a static IP on the wired computer I can connect to the Internet and the router through its default gateway. Setting up a static IP on the wireless computer doesn't seem to work, however. If the ISP was a problem, wouldn't the router not detect the Internet connection at all?
DHCP is definitely enabled on the router also.
My ISP is a small town owned company. I have a wireless broadband connection, which works similarly to satellite, only the connection is broadcast via a tower and is received with an outside antenna.
I still need to contact them about this, but I figured it could hurt to ask here and see some of your suggestions.
    Thank you!
    ~RJG

UPDATE: I contacted my ISP today and the technician I spoke with said he didn't know of any problems any routers would have with their wireless broadband. I tend to agree with him, as I've configured two routers previously using my connection and I've never had any difficulty until now. He suggested changing the ethernet cable and releasing/renewing my IP address, both of which I did but I continued to have the same issues.
But, after doing some more research I found some settings that actually allowed my wireless computer to connect. There was a post in these forums referring to modifying the MTU, changing it from Auto to Manual and changing the value to 1458 actually seemed to work, as well as strengthening the connection by changing the beacon interval. Anyway, I can connect wirelessly now.
Also, I connected my Linux computer (Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron) to the router and was able to connect instantly, no problems whatsoever. So, out of my three computers, two are connecting, but my wired Windows computer is still having issues. However, if I set a static IP for that computer, I can connect fine.
I'm thinking maybe there is something wrong with the NIC card in that computer, but how would one test something like that?
It doesn't make sense to me, I would really appreciate any input. Thank you!

  • Powerbook has range problem with Linksys Router. Don't Understand!

Well, I have a Linksys Wireless Router WRT54G v4 with a secure network. I get my Mac and PC to connect with no problem when they are in the same room as the router. When I go to another room, the PC stays connected but the Mac looses connection. I never had this problem before. If you're wondering I'm using a 17" Powerbook with OSX 10.4.8
I only have these two laptops using the router. I had v1 of the router and it went out on me and Linksys sent me v4. Well with the v1, I was able to get connection anywhere in the house with both laptops. Now, even when I'm right next to the router in the same room, the Mac is not getting a full bar, only 3/4. And when I leave the room, I get 0 on teh bar. It just doesn't make sense.
If you have any ideas, please let me know because I've done everything to get it to work. From reseting the router completely, to setting up a secure network, to trying different channels on the router.

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
Do you have the lastest V4 firmware, which is available from Linksys's web site. They also have a support forum where people list firmware issues.
Have you considered any of the third party firmwares available? The WRT54G has publicly available firmware that others have modified to give more flexibility, some which include the ability to increase the signal output. There's a listing under third part firmware at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WRT54G#Third-partyfirmwareprojects .
Have you tried any of the Linksys suggestions for router placement to maximize the signal? Apparently the V4 box introduced something...so this may be worth a try, too.
You've probably looked over the Linksys support web site already (even though the support staff can't spell mac), perhaps you've also done a Google query, something like 'wrt54g v4 problems'.

  • Problems with Linksys WRT310N

Hey everybody, I was hoping you could give me some advice with this problem. So right now, I am currently running a Linksys WRT54GS v.5 router. My iMac and MBP all connect wirelessly to the router, which is connected to my DSL modem (Verizon is my ISP). I have been using this setup for months with no problems. Now, here is the problem. I am attempting to switch over to the Linksys WRT310N, but I am having zero luck. I ran the Linksys setup wizard that was recently released for the Mac, and everything goes smoothly until it comes to establishing an internet connection. The iMac and MBP recognize the network that the 310N is broadcasting, but it does not seem to be able to establish an internet connection. I've tried messing around with the web browser setup as well, but with no luck. I'm lost, and am not very well-versed when it comes to wireless networking and wireless internet setup, so I would really appreciate your help. Thank you.

  • Problem with Linksys WRT54GS router? Please help.

Alright, so I have the WRT54GS, and for the longest time after I bought it, it worked just fine, but I've been experiencing problems lately. We have 2 computers running off the router. One is a wired connection, and mine is wireless, which I'm starting to hate. So whenever I'm playing any kind of game that takes up a lot of bandwidth, such as Call of Duty 4, it's been really laggy, and I get connection interruptions quite often. It disconnects me from all my online programs and, i have to wait about 20 seconds and the connection returns again. It's almost as if the router is just under strain and temporarily gives out? It happens if the other computer is running, or if mine is the only one being used. I really hope this problem is normal and fixable, because I don't have the money for a new router. So I'm wondering, can anyone help me? Please, any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Try the steps below to see if it will help.
There are many reasons for a poor wireless connection, and many ways to solve this issue.
    1.      Give your network a unique SSID and do not use Linksys and set your SSID Broadcast to enable.
    2.      You can also try A different channel. There are 11 channels and  1, 6 or 11 is better
    3.      You can try raising your router approximately 4-6 feet above the floor and make sure the antennas are vertical.
    4.      access your wireless software by going to your Profile or preferred networks, if any are named Linksys or ones that you do not know please delete them. Go to the settings or properties and check the information to make sure it is correct.
    5.      See if there are any updated drivers to download.
    6.      Try to use WPA encryption if you can
*** As always upgrade to the latest firmware
    Good Luck,
    Ttech

  • Problems with Linksys Wireless-B Adapter

I was wondering if anyone had any problems setting up a wireless network using their MSI Neo2 Platinum. I currently have a linksys wireless adapter connected to mine, and there is no wireless signal being received by the adapter. The adapter is getting power, and is detected by XP, but there is no signal. I tried moving the computer closer to the router, but to no avail. I currently have the PCI card connected to the network PCI slot, but before I had it in one of the others. Made no difference really.
I called linksys and that didn't work. The same card works in a biostar board that my sister's computer has, and works perfectly there. I can't seem to find the problem so now I'm going to go ahead and blame it on this wonderous motherboard :P. System specs if you need it:
    Processor: FX-55
    Motherboard: MSI Neo2 Platinum
    Memory: Corsair TwinX1024 PC3200
Hard Drives: 2 Seagate Barracuda's 120 GB (each) SATA
What's wrong?! Thx in advance for the help.

My son hooked up a Linksys 2.4 GHz Broadband Router to my Yahoo DSL modem. My Mac computer operates on OS 10.2.8 and my son's computer is a PC laptop. Everything was working fine until I my desktop screen went blank. I reinstalled everything and attempted to install Yahoo DSL. While I could not operate DSL on my Mac, my son was able to use the internet on his PC laptop. I disconnected the router and reloaded Yahoo DSL software and it works, but my son can't use the internet now. Recently Microsoft discontinued support Internet Explorer (IE) for Mac computers. Do you think I need to re-install IE on my computer even though I don't use it? When I installed Yahoo DSL, the Yahoo DSL icon never reappeared. All I do now is click on Firefox, Netscape, or Safari to get on the internet.
