Problem with Listener

Hi,
I have two oracle10g databases installed in the server.
I have listener listening for both the db.
Now i have created new listener which listens for both the db.
but when I try to connect using second listener connection hangs.
I can see two tnslsnr.exe running on the server.
also process list shows both the tnslsnr.exe are listening on corresponding ports.
One is working and other is failing.
Any idea what can be the reason??

When I see log file, I can see listener (which is failing) has already established large number of connections accepted from similar host(Server). (every 10 seconds it has accepted one connection from same server).
I dont see similar log for listener1 (Which is running fine)
I dont understand. No body connects from server. How come listener contains log like following
08-FEB-2010 16:27:48 * (CONNECT_DATA=(CID=(PROGRAM=)(HOST=__jdbc__)(USER=))(SERVICE_NAME=db1)) * (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=10.2.1.26)(PORT=1958)) * establish * db1* 0
08-FEB-2010 16:27:48 * (CONNECT_DATA=(CID=(PROGRAM=)(HOST=__jdbc__)(USER=))(SERVICE_NAME=db2)) * (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=10.2.1.26)(PORT=1959)) * establish * db2 * 0
server IP address: 10.2.1.26
After some time ( 20-22 hr) listener doesnt accept connection and connection hangs....
Is there any automatic job or parameter which causes this?

    I´m sorry but I normally have Oracle on Windows and this is my first contact with Oracle and Linux, on Windows I never had these problems because Oracle did everything automatically on Windows.

    If a stop and restart the listener, i don't have any more problem.
    I suspect OEM agent because each time i noted the problem, the agent was running .
    What occurs? Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
    we had exactly the same problem this morning with our listener. We don't run OEM, and the listener.log file didn't have any errors in it. The log shows new connections up to the point where the second process starts (we know this from date stamps on the processes) and the next thing that appears is the listener starting again (after I've killed both listener processes and started the listener again)

    According to the actual process - the secondary lsnr process's parent was the initial one. It's almost like the first process spawned the second one.
    We thought it might be one of the limits (we're running AIX 5) on the user running the process - but I suspect not as the same user is running the Oracle DB processes and they don't have any issues.
    Thoughts?

  • Problem With Listener Service: Long Delay Starting Listener, Intermittent Connections

    I am having trouble connecting to my Oracle database.  I'm not sure what the cause was, but now when I connect to a database that has been working fine for the past two years, I usually get a ORA-12541 error.
    I run lsnrctl status on the server and get a prinout like this:
    Copyright (c) 1991, 2010, Oracle.  All rights reserved.
    Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=dqaswn02)(PORT=1521)))
    TNS-12541: TNS:no listener
    TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
      TNS-00511: No listener
       64-bit Windows Error: 61: Unknown error
    Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=IPC)(KEY=EXTPROC1521)))
    TNS-12541: TNS:no listener
    TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
      TNS-00511: No listener
       64-bit Windows Error: 2: No such file or directory
    I've also tried manually stopping the service via services.msc and then restarting via lsnrctl start, but when I do this I get a really long delay (10+ minutes) before it returns with something like:
    TNS-01153: Failed to process string: 0í≈♥
    I'm pretty lost as to what is wrong.  I've been messing around with listener.ora, but I don't see anything problematic in there.  Here's a copy:
    # listener.ora Network Configuration File: E:\app\myc0714\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\NETWORK\ADMIN\listener.ora
    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.

    TRACE_LEVEL_LISTENER = SUPPORT
    TRACE_FILE_LISTENER = LISTENER
    However, a few times during this I've been able to connect to the server, via sqlplus, but it has taken 10 minutes before the connection comes online.  Once I'm connected, I can query my tables as expected, but I need an application to connect.
    If anyone has any ideas on what could be wrong, please let me know.

    When I opened up netca, I didn't have any listeners configured, which seems very strange.  When adding it, I get this message in the cmd window:
    Oracle Net Services Configuration:

    I killed the service via services.msc again and tried starting the lsnrctl.  This time I've got a new listening service going:

    The problem to verify that is that I can't connect no more to oem, I only could the first time after creating CHUCKY database with emca .
    Connection refused, my computer doesn't make a listen on theses addresses, it only made a listen on it the first time I had created database.
    I don't know to reactivate it .

    So I don't know exactly what the problem is oem is no more accessible so I can't change permission or reactivate scott user and it is said permissions denied when doing sqlplus as sysdba.

    I recently updated my iPad 2 to OS 5.1. After the update, I have been having a problem listening to music. If I go to iPod and start a song after exiting to the home screen, the song stops playing.Why is this happening? I also tried restarting the iPad but still the problem persists.

    Read this from Apple. Read the last part about the .ipsw file. I copied the text from here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
    This device is not eligible for the requested build (Also sometimes displayed as an "error 3194")
    Update to the latest version of iTunes.
    Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, followTroubleshooting security software issues.
    Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to performunauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. Uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer.
    Edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from your hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you do not uninstall the unauthorized modification software prior to editing the hosts file, that software may automatically modify the hosts file again on restart.
    Avoid using an older or modified .ipsw file. Try moving the current .ipsw file (see Advanced Steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw) below for file locations), or try restoring in a new user to ensure that iTunes downloads a new .ipsw.

  • E71x problem with listening mp3 with headphones

    I have E71x. I am trying to listen the mp3 files with its original headphones.(HS-47) I am not getting stereo sound for some reason.(Only the right ear bud is working.) I've tried two different headphones of the same style. I still have the problem. Is there something wrong with AT&T E71x or a setting to be adjusted? I couldn't find anything in the manual regarding this matter. Can someone please help me?

    E71 runs S60 3rd edition FP2, and it has only just been released recently. have you checked that the contacts are clean in the headphone port? also check if when you plug in your headphones, the headphone icon comes on in the home screen. also check in the Music Player if the balance is correct. i.e. when you are playing a song, select Options then Audio settings, then check that the Balance is marked as Centre.
    another solution is to check that the earphones are clean or your ear is clean from wax. i don't mean to be rude or anything, but a while back i thought i was going deaf (or the headphones were dead in one ear) until i discovered that wax had accumulated within the buds of my Sony earphones. so after some cleaning, the sound was restored
    let us know how it goes
    If you found this or someone's comments helpful or like what that person has to say, please give some Kudos to their post!

  • E65 problem with listening to live radio

    I have a fine wifi connection and live tv access but have problem to connect to any live radio station while connected though wifi. can anyone kindly help me out?

    how do I listen to live broadcasts using my mac and why isn't this ability written into the OS.
    It's not "written into the OS" because a Mac does not have a radio receiver. If you are referring to streaming broadcasts that come over the Internet, that capability is dependent on the web browser, not the OS. And as mentioned above, iTunes also has the capability to stream Internet-based "radio."
    You can also go to any number of web sites that stream "radio" broadcasts. Just do a Google search on "internet radio". For example, here is a web site that aggregates such streams.

  • Problem with Listener and EM Enterprise

    I have installed Oracle 10g DB on my PC (Windows XP) for over 2mths now and everything was working fine, all of sudden my computer crashed and it took a while to solve its problem.
    1) the first problem was when i try to log in using SQL Plus it won't allow me access cause it says it can't archive the redo log files although I've got enough disk place on my drive, I was able to log in internally from the cmd prompt and alter the database to noarchivemode.
    Intially when i start the LISTENER everything is O.k and check its status everything is running fine but anything I try to access the database thru EM Enterprise to check the AMMD alerts access is denied, I now check the status of the LISTENER its gives an error
    Then, I tried to check the status of the listener as below.
    D:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Db_2\BIN>lsnrctl status
    LSNRCTL for 32-bit Windows: Version 10.1.0.2.0 - Pro

    TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
    TNS-00511: No listener
    32-bit Windows Error: 61: Unknown error
    How can I compact the problem of logging in thru EM Enterprise and and get my DB out of NoArchivelog Mode cause anytime I try access a table when database is in archivelog mode Oracle crashed?,Help !

    Hi.
    Is the setup of target for archived redo logs valid and are you able to write to the target. You might look into the log_archive_dest parameter or if by default setup, db_recovery_file_dest. Are you able to write to this particluar disk. And does this file system exist on your disk? You could also check by doing alter system switch logfile and put database into archivelog and see if you are able to switch by putting the database in archivelog and repeat the logswitch.
    If the database had been going up and down due to the archivelogproblems, and dbconsole has not been restarted, the dbconsole might have lost status of the database since it's configuration is stored in the sysman schema. I would in any case restart the dbconsole after solving the archivelogissue by typing
    d:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Db_2\BIN\emctl stop dbconsole
    and
    d:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Db_2\BIN\emctl start dbconsole
    Further, I would have started the netmanager from %ORACLE_HOME%\bin and verified the setup of listener.ora through the application.
    Also I would have checked tnsnames.ora from netmanager and verify that I am able to logonto the database using the netalias provided in tnsnames.ora.
    If this is OK, and problem still persist, try putting on tracing on listener level. This might be done through netmanager aswell.
    Good luck

  • Facing problem with listening to radio

    While I am trying to listening to the radio, I am able to hear the start up tone for the radio. But after that what ever I do, I am not able to listen to any of the saved radio stations. The headset accessory is attached as this acts as the antenna for the radio.

    On the N80, the >| and |< arrows switch between saved stations.
    You say you can't play saved radio stations: does the radio work at all?

  • Songs start after beginning of song and end before the song is finished.  these are the same songs that are on my IPodtouch and they play in their entirety there.  So what's the problem with listening to them on Itunes on my Mac computer?

    The music on Itunes on my MacBook start into the song; not from the beginning.  The song also ends before it should.  I have this same music on my IPodtouch and they play from beginning to end.  Why don't they play the total song on ITunes on my MacBook?  Anyone know???

    Hello flashgoddess
    It sounds like you have a crossfade turned on. Check the Playback tab in iTunes Preferences to see if anything is selected that would give that kind of behavior.

  • Problem with application developed with vtapi(Vt Systems) - events

    Hello!
    I'm developing aplication based on api prepared by VT Systems (http://www.cmsfx.com/en/trading-software/download-vt-trader/download-vt-trader-api/).
    This api is used to perform forex transactions. I've written a Web
    Service which connects with this api and
    alows other modules of my application to perform transactions. I'm
    using JAX-WS and Sun Java Application Server.
    This is sample of Web Service :
    @WebService()
    public class ForexService{
    protected static VT_API api;
    Checker checker;
    String userName = "***";
    String userPassword = "***";
    ConstRecord constants;
    public static IVT_APIEventsAdapterExtended events;
    public void initAPI(){
    try{
    System.loadLibrary("bridge2java");
    OleEnvironment.Initialize();
    api = new VT_API();
    api.setForceDisableSSL(false);
    events = new IVT_APIEventsAdapterExtended(api);
    api.addIVT_APIEventsListener(events);
    constants = new ConstRecord();
    }catch(Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    public ForexService(){
    initAPI();
    logonResult = api.Login(userName, userPassword, 0) ;
    System.out.println("Rezultat logowania: " + logonResult);
    checker = new Checker(this);
    new Thread(checker).start();
    @WebMethod
    public String getLogonResult() {
    return new Integer(logonResult).toString();
    @WebMethod
    public String getServerList(){
    return api.GetServerList();
    I'm using event listener which was attached to Java Sample in
    documentation.
    public class IVT_APIEventsAdapterExtended extends
    IVT_APIEventsAdapter{
    private VT_API api;
    public IVT_APIEventsAdapterExtended(VT_API apiInstance) {
    api = apiInstance;
    public void
    OnInstrumentChange(IVT_APIEvents_OnInstrumentChangeEvent e)
    super.OnInstrumentChange(e);
    System.out.println("instrument change - " +
    e.get_InstrumentID());
    public void
    OnNewServerMessage(IVT_APIEvents_OnNewServerMessageEvent e)
    super.OnNewServerMessage(e);
    System.out.println("Server message :" +
    api.get_ServerMessages().get_Items(e.get_MsgID()).get_Text());
    I've problem with listening events incoming from forex server. When I
    run Wireshark(Network Protocol Analyzer) I can see that events income
    to my computer (on different ports - for example: 2070, 2071, 2072),
    but don't income to Sun Java Application Server. I suspect that server
    don't listen on this ports, but how can I fix this? Maybe should I
    choose a other server? I've tried also Tomcat -with similar result :(
    Regards,
    Peter
    //Sorry for my english :)

    Thank you very much for the reply :-)
    We have been fiddling with the platform on many levels yesterday, and one thing we did do was bump that value up from 1024 to 8192... This made a HUGE improvement in ensuring the platform now holds the live streaming connections. (up to 8000 per edge)
    I think for other future reference and to aid other people that might run into this problem in the future, its a good idea to increase this value.  From what we have seen, read and heard, that default value is fairly conservative, its suppose to grow when the load demands it, however, if you have a large scale of connections coming in at once from multiple locations, it can happen that it grows too quickly which can result in the application to be reloaded (which disconnects all users, i.e. all edge servers connected to this origin).
    Another option we were recommended to modify was the following :
    In adaptor.xml you currently have this line:
    <HostPort name="edge1" ctl_channel="localhost:19350" rtmfp="${ADAPTOR.HOSTPORT}">${ADAPTOR.HOSTPORT}</HostPort>
    You can set this to
                    <HostPort name="edge1" ctl_channel="localhost:19350" rtmfp=":80">:80</HostPort>
    <HostPort name="edge2" ctl_channel="localhost:19351" rtmfp=":1935">:1935</HostPort>
    This will create two edge processes for both ports 80 and 1935. Currently both ports are served from the same fmsedge process.
    Of course this is not a huge performance improvement, but should further distribute load over more processes which is a good thing. Especially when there are that many connections.
    This setting can be made on all machines (origin + edge)
    Hopefully this could help other people also running into the same problems we have seen ...

  • Having problems with opening IIOP session

    i have a Oracle JServer and i have a listener for IIOP connection configured at 2481 port . If i use JDeveloper to create a connection , then it throws me an error as Unknow service x , this x value is increment everytime I try again.
    Is there some body who have any suggestions for this problem. I feel it might be a problem with listener.

    Hi ,
    The problem is not with your listener.But with your Jdeveloper.The Jserver you are using might be version 8.1.7 and the Jdeveloper might be 3.1.1.2 .Try using the Jdeveloper version 3.1.1.3 and that will solve your problem.

  • Problem with logging in to apex application builder listener

    I have problem with my settings and am posting this in hope that someone else out there had similar problem and solved it!
    I am trying to use reverseproxy to access to our db through apex listener.
    It's been all set-up and I can login to the application it self either through proxy or no proxy using the listener.
    But when I try to login to apex application builder I cannot do it through proxy(with no proxy, it works).
    It just refreshes the login page when I click login....
    I tried to upgrade the listener to the latest v1.1(using 1.0.2) but it causes my tomcat to crash...
    So solution i am looking for is how to make logging in work through proxy..
    In the firebug it is showing that below and few other request status as 302 moved temporariry
    http://myserver:8080/testsin/apex/wwv_flow.accept
    Where as with no proxy it is saying Found.....
    Any thoughts??
    Thanks
    Sin K

    Hello Sin K,
    so proxy and Tomcat are located on different machines as well? Is the proxy able to commuicate with the Tomcat on the configured internal ports and is the proxy able to lookup the hostname you configured for the Tomcat?
    For the connector, the proxyName and proxyPort should be the parameters the client uses to call APEX. So if your clients should call via http://proxyserver:8080/testsin/apex the settings would be
    proxyName=proxyserver
    proxyPort=8080Reason for this is that applications (e.g. the APEX Listener) generate there URL references with these parameters.
    But does your proxy actually serve on port 8080? And is that port accessible by clients? Do clients accept cookies from that server?
    In my case, there is only one 302 which redirects to http://host:port/apex/f?p=4500:1000:sessionid which is correct.
    If you look into your first post request in firebug, what's in the request header?

  • OEM Problem in Communicating with Listener

    Dear all,
    for some reason, my OEM is corrupted and when it's enabled, it messes up with the listener. I concluded the problem lies in OEM rather than in the listener since I can establish connection between SQLdeveloper and the server via the listener without any problem.
    I have instance named INARA, host named FIREFLY.SNOWDROP.COM, and listener named ORACLE_LISTENER.
    I closed SQLdeveloper application and its listener and started OEM first to pinpoint the problem. After I started OEM, the Management Service log emoms.log dumped:

    After OEM is successfully started, at least according to the emtcl command, I started listener ORACLE_LISTENER. At this point I performed loopback test using NET manager on the server, and it took forever so I aborted it. The database at this point was still open and running without problem though. TNSPING took 157080 msc to return OK value, on the other hand lsnrctl status ORACLE_STATUS was stalled.
    So looking at emagent.trc after listener was initiated:

The NET services with its listener can work normally after I stopped OEM and forced killed the listener and restarted it normally.
    Any idea how to troubleshoot the problem from this point?

    Hi SyBrand,
    sorry if you got impression that I'm ignoring pointers that you gave me. I assure you that I'm trying to use the pointers that everyone gave to me and I really appreciate it.
    I'm still learning how to get familiar with the database, read the log file, troubleshoot the problems, and get familiar the whole concept, that's why most of the time I receive wrong message from everyone, most often I detect them incorrectly.
    Ok, so far what I understand is I have a database resides in the server, a client, and a listener. The client, in this case, OEM is connecting to the server via listener. In my listener.ora configuration, there are 2 listener configuration, LISTENER and ORACLE_LISTENER. In the client side whose description is in tnsnames.ora it has inara as client service name, which should be matched with available listener either with LISTENER or ORACLE_LISTENER.
    one of the log file that says connecting to 192.168.1.5 is because it implicitly translated firefly into its ip address which is 192.168.1.5.
    Also I double check both files as you suggested before listener.ora
    # listener.ora Network Configuration File: /usr/local/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/network/admin/listener.ora
    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.
    ORACLE_LISTENER =
      (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
        (DESCRIPTION =
          (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = firefly.snowdrop.com)(PORT = 1521))
    LISTENER =
      (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
        (DESCRIPTION =
          (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC1521))
          (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = firefly.snowdrop.com)(PORT = 1521))
    ADR_BASE_LISTENER = /usr/local/oracle
    ADR_BASE_ORACLE_LISTENER = /usr/local/oracletnsnames.ora
    # tnsnames.ora Network Configuration File: /usr/local/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/network/admin/tnsnames.ora
    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.
    INARA =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = firefly.snowdrop.com)(PORT = 1521))
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SERVER = DEDICATED)
          (SERVICE_NAME = inara.snowdrop.com)
    LISTENER_ORCL =
      (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = localhost)(PORT = 1521))
    ORCL =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = localhost)(PORT = 1521))
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SERVER = DEDICATED)
          (SERVICE_NAME = orcl.snowdrop.com)
    LISTENER_OCA11G =
      (ADDRESS_LIST =
        (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = firefly.snowdrop.com)(PORT = 1521))
        (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = localhost)(PORT = 1521))
      )service inara in tnsnames.ora is consistent with LISTENER or ORACLE_LISTENER.
    How can I associate local service name inara with OEM client? BTW OEM client and database reside in the same host firefly.
