Problem with LOB

Question

Hi everybody,
I want to extract a row from a database DB2. This row containt a BLOB column. I want to extract this column but i cann't do it !!!
Why????
here is the code:
while (rs.next())
recCount++;
System.out.println("Number of records = "+recCount);
String colName = new String ("LOBDOCDEM");
String NomDoc = rs.getString("NOMDOC");========> OK
System.out.println("NOMDOC:"+NomDoc);
Blob blobObj = rs.getBlob(colName);=============> NOT OK
System.out.println("blobObj.length():"+blobObj.length());
Error:
java.lang.NullPointerException
     at writeblob.GetBlob.getPicture_createFile(GetBlob.java:126)
     at writeblob.GetBlob.main(GetBlob.java:136)

Do you have any data in your table?
