Problem with machine rebooting. Essbase 11.1.1 installation.

Hi all,
I have a problem with my Essbase 11.1.1 installation. In a nutshell when I reboot the machine I can't log in EAS anymore. The only way I found out is just reconfigur EPM system after rebooting but It's just a work around.
Thanks for helping

Hi user,
AsI read between lines, it seems that you previously were able to access EAS so your installlation is not the problem but you accessing to EAS isthe problem. As you mentioned you are having problems accessing it after rebooting the server, I think it could be a prolem with the services. Please try stopping all the services in this order:
administration servicese
Essbase services 11.1.1.1_Hypservice_1
Foundation
Openldap
and then restart them from bottom to top. Let me know.
J.

  • Problems with System Update 3.14.0019 after installation SP2

    Have you encountered problems with System Update 3.14.0019 after installation SP2 for Windows Vista?
     After this upgrade I view  this error: "An error occurred while gathering user information."
    Thanks for the help

    A known issue.  It wasn't supposed to be supported until SP2 is RTM.  However, look at the stickied post in the forum for some bad news about SU.

  • Problems with spontaneous reboots with K7t266 Pro-RU

    I have been having problems with this board for about six months. I recently installed the same board into another system and still have the same issues.
    The system powers-on spontaneously after shutdown. I have checked that there are no "wake on LAN settings" enabled in the BIOS. The same problem occurred in two different systems with the same board. It happens anytime overnight.
    I am running Windows and Office XP with current Service Packs
    AMI BIOS A6380MS V1.8 010202
    Most recently I installed the board in a new case and re-installed windows XP from scratch.  The stand by  button is grayed out when I select Windows turn off computer. When I shutdown the computer it simply restarts and does not shutdown properly.
    I purchased the motherboard in September 2001. I tried running the RAID array with two IBM Deskstar model IC35L040AVVA07-0,  40 GB hardrives. The RAID array would fail after a few weeks to a few months of use. I damaged both drives while trying to recover from these failures and could not repair the drives even with a low-level format. I finally gave up and stopped using the RAID.
    I have not upgraded the bios on the Promise RAID chip.
    Has anyone else had so  much problems with this board?

    Thanks for that. I had all these settings as described above but was still getting the spontaneous reboots. Actually I have narrowed it down to it occuring only when I have another PC on my LAN, but Wake up on LAN is definitely disabled.

  • Problem with J2RE 1.4.2_02 or 03 Installation

    Hi!
    I have a problem with the j2re 1.4.2_02 or 03 silent installation:
    everytime the setup starts "patchjre.exe" it displays the warning "Java(TM)-Update (1.4.2_03-b02) cannot be installed on this workstation because the Java(TM) Virtual Machine is already running..." - retry or cancel.
    If i click 8 times "retry" the setup will continue and everything is fine.
    No browser or other java apps are running!
    what can be the problem?
    thanks
    oliver

    I was having this problem as well. I extracted the MSI from the InstallShield and found that it's looking for a property called "SystemFilesLocked" to equal 1. If you pass it as a parameter and give it a value of 0, this error message doesn't appear. I've installed now to 15 W2K desktops without any issues.
    The 'silent installation' documentation for this product is sorely lacking. The install string I'm using is below:
    j2re-1_4_2_03-windows-i586-p.exe /S /v/qn"ADDLOCAL=jrecore SYSTEMFILESLOCKED=0 CONTROLPANELLOCKED=1 SKDSILENT=1 IEXPLORER=0 SYSTRAY=0 REBOOT=Suppress JAVAUPDATE=0 JAVAJAVAWLOCKED=0 WEBSTARTICON=0 /L C:\TEMP\LogFiles\JRE_JWS_142_03.log"
    Hope this helps...

  • An IVR Application Solves All Problems with a Reboot: Problem Is to Prove The App Is Causing the Reboot

    A machine, that is dedicated to running an IVR application, is supposed to be available to take customer telephone inquiries 24/7. Sometimes the computer reboots itself, without taking a dump. The problem is to prove to the commercial IVR application developer
    that their SKU is responsible for the reboot. As Windows neglects to log such events, I'm in a quandary. The IVR application also doesn't log its attempts to reboot the computer. We are running ProcMon, which may catch somebody in the act.  So far there
    hasn't been the lucky coincidence of ProcMon running and a reboot event.
    MARK D ROCKMAN

    Here is the content of an event log that seems pertinent:
    The process C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe (P15) has initiated the restart of computer P15 on behalf of user P15\Ugen for the following reason: No title for this reason could be found
     Reason Code: 0x500ff
     Shutdown Type: restart
     Comment:
    Well, that's pretty disappointing.  It names some operating system process that is instrumental in the restart.  It tells what computer is being restarted.  It tells what user logon account apparently initiated the restart, but not which application.
    And it fails to interpret the Reason Code which is "I don't know what."  Presumably a BSOD wouldn't look much like this.  I wish the writers of this dreck would face facts and state the obvious.  No pussyfooting around.  If application
    X with logon id Y asks for a reboot then say so.

    Any help would surely be appreciated

    The problem is likely due to the discrete GPU failing. Download gfxCardStatus 2.3 and use it to disable the discrete GPU. This is a temporary workaround until you get your motherboard replaced.

  • Lion: problems with resume, reboot, move, delete ...

    Some of the Lion problems I've been having (on 2 laptops: an older "Pro" and a new "Air"):
              -can't delete some files without password;
              -can't move some files or folders, only copy;
              -opening a program by clicking a data file also opens other data files from previous uses (not necessarily the most recent use);
              -rebooting opens several programs, always the same ones with the same data files (not necessarily from the most recent uses);
              -opening Safari opens several tabs always with the same sites;
              -Safari's History is gone, except for 2011 items, and new items are not being recorded;
              -Keychain issues, often needing repair;
              -MobileMe syncing issues.
    Why and how do all of these things happen? How are they related to each other? Why should I have to tinker like this? And what would happen if I weren't geeky? (I've left my iMac on Snow Leopard, which is wonderful.)
    Things are coming under control, but I have pulled all sorts of information from a variety of Web sources, none of which I found all in one place; hence this compendium. The exact sequence of what I did is lost, and what factors were the ones which worked I do not know. (Very time-consuming …) Comments welcome!
    Should I just have re-installed Lion on the laptops?
    ====
    Permissions:
    A lot of these problems seem related to obscure permissions.
    Here is a Terminal command which clears all ACLs, at least in the "Home" folder.
              chmod -R -N ./*
    (But it generated this message on the MBPro:
    chmod: Failed to clear ACL on file abc.numbers: Operation not permitted
    chmod: Failed to clear ACL on file Commands: Invalid argument
    chmod: Failed to clear ACL on file Notification: Invalid argument
    chmod: Failed to clear ACL on file ubiquity.socket: Invalid argument
    chmod: Failed to clear ACL on file Saved Application State: Operation not permitted
    … partly perhaps because I had "locked" the abc.numbers file and the Saved Application State folder. I doubt if these things matter.)
    Reboot while holding Cmd-R: this is something like "re-install" mode; when it opens, instead of choosing one of the options presented, open Terminal from the Utilities menu, and type "resetpassword". A program opens but don't reset the passwords, but rather reset all of the permissions, including ACLs, using the button at the lower right. Close it, close Terminal, and the reboot normally.
    Safari:
    File menu, Empty Cache and Reset Safari
    Library (from Home folder, requires special steps to get to it in Lion, e.g. hold the Option key when at the Finder "Go" menu):
              Library/Preferences: moved then later deleted several plist files for offending programs, which I then had to reconfigure (e.g. Safari: reconfigure Toolbar, go through Safari Preferences …) -(they will all reappear instantly in some "default" state) -trying to delete the plist.lockfile as well caused problems - Trash wouldn't "empty" it ("in use"), but doesn't seem to matter.
              Library/Preferences, ByHost: see below
              Library/Saved States: see below
    ByHost:
    Some users opine to go to ByHost, close all apps, then "lock" (using the "Get Info" feature) the file com.apple.loginwindow{…}.plist. See this "discussion: https://discussions.apple.com/message/17213577#17213577
    Saved States:
    Some users say to delete "Library/Saved Application State" files (folders) before doing the above (https://discussions.apple.com/message/17499355#17499355 and http://applehelpwriter.com/2011/09/13/turn-off-resume-the-definitive-solution/). Then "lock" the "Saved Application State" folder. There may be some problems getting it to stay locked(?).
    But I moved several  of the "Saved Application State" folders and I forget just what, but one computer seemed unhappy afterwards, the other fine. On the unhappy one, I replaced them (but not yet having locked the overall folder), and deleted some of the files inside the individual folders, like com.apple.TextEdit.savedState. (I suspect this paragraph is unimportant, but cannot be sure.)
    Sharing: remember that the settings under System Preferences, Sharing, also matter. (So do the settings under "Accounts and Users", Guests.)
    The "resume open applications feature" on reboot seems weird. If I say "no", I wonder if it wasn't bringing back all of the programs from some distant previous reboot.
    Make sure that under System Preference, General, the option to restore on restart is unchecked.
    I have learned that Disk Utility's "Repair Permissions" works for quite specific files and doesn't work for the Home folder.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1452
    Make sure that there aren't numerous "Login" items under System Preference, Users/Accounts.
    Changing permissions via the "Get Info" windows, and "applying to enclosed folders" can be a bad idea, especially if applied to something like the Home folder. Apparently it propagates ACLs too(?), although not visible there, and the effects can be undesirable.
    Some permissions on "Get Info" panes have two "everyone"s, and the one with "Custom" settings can not be changed nor deleted.
    Make sure all systems updates have been done (as usual).
    MobileMe sync issues are another story - seems to be settling - perhaps related to "Permissions" issues above …
    And what about Preferences, Caches? Anything there that would help with the above problems? What about the "root"(?) Library?
    Some of the above tasks can be accomplished by 3rd-party software, but I'm getting there without using anything other than native Mac OS X Lion tools.
    ====
    Anyway, as said, it's all settling down.
    Comments/corrections most welcome.
    Charles

    Boot from your recovery partition by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
    When the recovery desktop appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar.
    In the Terminal window, enter “resetpassword” (without the quotes) and press return. A Reset Password window opens.
    Select your boot volume if not already selected.
    Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
    Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.

  • Problems with dynasight queries (Essbase goes fast)

    Hi, we use dynasight tool to retrieve the data. The time of queries shown in app. window are fast, but we think dynaserver has problems, maybe in sharing the cache memory although this is up to 2 GB and essbase doesn't take more than 600 MbThanks a lot

    Hello,in principle, the performance of dynaSight should be more or less identical to the performance you get from an equivalent query from within the Excel Add-In for example. Therefore, the performance problem is very likely due to the specific design of the dynaSight documents/screens.Please check the following:- hierarchy objects configuration:is 'request other levels when expanded' used for the vertical and horizontal hierarchy objects? Depending on the use and type of query this feature may speed up performance significantly.- are you using individual selections?If yes: are you using more than 99 members in an individual member selection (this is the limit on the Essbase Side: if you exceed that limit, dynaSight will query the complete hierarchy and filter out the selected members)- optimize the screens by for example consolidating multiple queries / database calls into one query / database call.=> these are just a few suggestions to look into. In general, I would strongly suggest to contact [email protected] and provide them with some application components and trace and log files so the design issues can be analysed and identified more specifically.Best RegardsAndreas [email protected] of Competence Center

  • Problem with Business rule-Essbase Error(1042017):

    Hi,
    I am getting the following error when i run this business rule specifically.
    Detail:Cannot calculate. Essbase Error(1042017): Network error: The client or server timed out waiting to receive data using TCP/IP.  Check network connections.  Increase the NetRetryCount and/or NetDelay values in the ESSBASE.CFG file. Update this file on both client and server.  Restart the client and try again.
    I dont get this error with any other rule. I have checked the solution provided in this link
    _[http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/html_esb_error/erhelp.htm#ercalc.htm]_. But this solution wont help because i dont get this error in any other rule.
    The rule i run is
    "Depreciation Value" = "Cumulative.Asset value"/ ("Assumptions_Programs"->Jul->@UDA(Entity,@NAME(@CURRMBR(Location)))->@UDA(Location,@NAME(@CURRMBR(Location)))->"Assets life in months");
    The functions in the above rule will get replaced as below
    "Depreciation Value" = "Cumulative.Asset value"/ "Assumptions_Programs"->Jul->IND_Assumptions->LOC_IND->"Assets life in months";
    If i hardcode and run, i dont get this error. Please help.
    Regards,
    Ragav.

    The reason it works when you hard code it and why it doesn't when use UDA is simply that you should never have a multiple answers in a cross dimensional. @UDA function returns multiple answers. Even if for your case it only brings back one I believe it is tripping up the calculation. Worse if you are actually bring back multiple answers for @UDA that is definitely not going to work.
    I would have to understand all your fixes above the calcultion to recommend you the best possible solution. But at least you understand why you are getting the error and what you have to fix

  • MOVED: 785GTM-E45 Problems with constant reboot and other stuff - My first ever build!

    This topic has been moved to AMD64 ATI/SiS/VIA boards.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=149942.0

    Yes, 20 + 4 plug in connected as is the 4 pin CPU plug.  Sound issue is now resolved.  I deleted the sound drivers and windows reinstalled so that's fixed.
    More on the reboot problem.  It really only seems to happen when the PC is sitting idle.  If suring the net or playing a game, it seems to work fine.  I was loading a program earlier today that kept failing because windows would reboot duing the install.  I finally opened up a web browser and left it on Pandora and the install went flawlessly...  I guess this PC does not like to be ignored...
    Last night, I did not touch the PC and it would simply reboot about every 10-20 minutes and show a message that it recovered from a serious error.

  • Problems with Yosemite (reboot and choppy screen image)

    I recently upgraded to Yosemite. I have a MacBook Pro Retina 15" and am running 10.10.2
    In all my years of using OSX I think I have been forced to do a hard restart MAYBE 6 times. Ever. And I've been here from the beginning of OSX and before. Since updating maybe two or three weeks ago I have had to hard restart about a dozen times. I am disappointed. The computer becomes non-responsive, yet I don't see the spinning beachball. It just - freezes. I hold down the power button and chug along until the next time.
    Additionally, occasionally when using safari the screen gets kind of separated. For instance, if I click on something to go to a new page, part of the screen remains on the old screen and sort of flashes back and forth from old screen to new screen. IDK if that makes any sense. I've not been able to figure a pattern as of yet.
    I'd like to know if anyone else is experiencing such oddities. Also, if anyone has any idea what I can do about these problems I'd be happy to entertain them.

    You can also try the Safe Mode to reset things.
    Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.

  • Problem with configuring Hyperion Essbase 1111

    Hi,
    Whenever I have installed on SQL express I have not had to put in the \SQLEXPRESS
    Maybe you installed SQL express using SQLExpress as the instance instead of selecting default instance, this could be the issue.

  • Problem With Airport Status Icon After Snow Leopard Installation

    Everything seemed to go well except on the Menu bar where the Airport status antenna is. Normally it shows a digital timer showing how long my internet connection has been up ( I use PPPoe ). After the install the icon shows that I'm connected to my AEBS, the network is up and the internet connection is up as well, can access mail and all web sites. Airport Utility shows no problems and that the connection is up but that digital timer no longer shows up at the icon. Does anyone have ideas? I did repair permissions and restarted the computer but no luck. And I have show Airport status checked in system preferences.
    John

    I too am facing issues with the Airport status icon in the menu bar after I upgraded to 10.6.
    My internet connection works fine over Airport, I am even writing this post using my airport connection. When I go into the Settings panel and further into Network I get a green status indication on my Airport connection. So far nothing out of the ordinary.
    But, when I look at the status icon on the menu bar the icon is dimmed out, as if I did not have a connection. When I click on it it says that I have not installed an airport card. Though obviously I have!
    Anyone else facing the same issue?

  • Problem with JDBC Comm Channel from UNIX PI Installation.

    Dear Gurus:
    Inside a standard scenario, we have a receiver comm channel which use JDBC adapter type to connect to a MS Access remote database.
    The database connection is made like this:
    JDBC Driver: sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver
    Connection: jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=//10.96.0.10/c$/app/appdb.mdb
    Working from a Windows 2003 PI installation, everything works fine..
    But we recently have finished a Heterogeneous migration from Windows 2003 + SQL server to UNIX AIX + Oracle servers and that particular interface does not work anymore.
    Is there a way to connect to a MS Access from inside a UNIX PI installation..? Is there a native JDBC or ODBC driver that we can use to fix our problem...?
    Waiting for your help. Best regards.

    Hi,
