Problem with Mail For Exchange over Nokia E7-00 (a...

Hi, I have a problem with my nokia E7-00 (Symbian Anna).
Until recently it worked fine with my terminal synchronization with GMAIL via Mail For Exchange.
I synchronized the mail (including folders / labels I have on my account), address book and calendar.
Suddenly, this synchronization does not work anymore, the mail is no longer recovered, the calendar does not show appointments and contacts are no longer synchronized.
Trying to send an email that works perfectly, but the mail is not saved in Sent folder on my nokia e7-00, also if I search on the remote server is a contact I found it perfectly.
In practice it seems that something in the synchronization mechanism does not work.
Do you have ideas on how to fix this problem?
Thanks in advance.

You may try rebooting the device to check if it works. If this did not help, you will have to re-setup outlook account on your device to get it worked.
Hope, this can resolve your issue.

  • Problem with mail for exchange after update on E72...

    Hi everyone,
I updated Nokia E-mail to ver 3.9 on E72. Now I am facing  a problem with mail for exchange. I have configured gmail on mail for exchange. I recieve a warning that "unable to sync contact administrator if problem persist". It started to pop up just after the update was over and is very frustrating. Even previously i used to recieve mails instantly but now it generally takes half an hour for me to recieve them. I deleted and created mail for exchange several times but to no avail.
Also i am not able to automatically recieve mails other emails which i have configured. every time I have to manually download them everytime.
Can anybody suggest a way out.
    Thanks
    Anil

It could be a problem if you're using your network's connections...
I was on a Pay & Go tariff with o2 some time ago, and needed secure connections for various things, o2 told me they didn't provide secure connections on Pay & Go tariffs...
Could be worth checking with them to make sure it's supported.

  • Calendar sync problem with Mail for Exchange

I have troubles syncing my calendar with Mail for Exchange.
I've configured MfE the same way I did on my N8-00 and it worked perfectly there. On my new N9 it just syncs Mail and the ToDo list of from the Exchange Server. Any suggestions what I am doing wrong?
Also, when I remove my MfE settings, the Calendars still are in the Calendar App. How can I delete them?

    Hi,
There could be some problem with the contact sync, because you had synched with MFE . Remove the existing sync for Mail for exchange and then try creating a new sync and then check, That should maybe solve the issue.
I had mfe configured and then removed and now then i sync with the Address book and Ical. Seems to be working fine for me, just that i use a N95.
Hopefully it fixes, let me know the outcome.
    Cheers

  • Calendar Sync Problems with mail for exchange on e...

    Hello!
I upgraded my Nokia e52 to Software version 033.002.216.01 but now I am unable to sync with my mail for exchange Calendar. Settings are correct (in calendar settings Default mailbox is Mail for Exchange and in Email settings Calendar sync is "Yes") and I am still able to sync e-mail, but not calendar items.
Can anyone help me with this issue? Does anyone have the same problem after software upgrade?

I haven't solve the problem yet. Waiting for new firmware, might be it will solve the problem...

  • Charset problems with mail for exchange

    Hi,
today I tried to connect my new C6-01 to the exchange server we run in our company. Unfortunately, it just cannot deal with any German "umlauts", neither in outgoing nor ingoing mails. Ingoing mails have "=?iso-8859-1?Q=22" visible in front of the author's name and umlauts look like "=E4" for an "ä".
Are there any fixes, settings or workarounds concerning this issue?
    thanks
    saardunu

Addendum: This is only true for the "from" field. In the body of the mail for example an "ö" looks like a big A with tilda and then this typical line-break symbol.

Please tell me how can i get back my contacs ? that's v. imp to me.
A waiting for your helpful replys.
    No shortcut to experience!

Hey Kitharass, This is extremely unfortunate!
Have you got any previous backups of your device saved on Nokia Suite? Plug your device into Nokia suite and try and recover your phone from any previous backups you may have created to try and retrieve your contacts.
I hope this helps and that you manage to get all your contacts back!

  • Nokia 5800 - 'Mail for Exchange' and 'Nokia mail'....

Ok may be a silly question but while looking through my 'installed apps' on my 5800, since i was thinking of 'clearing some stuff out' to make that little bit more memory on the phone (Currently I'm ~ 3/4 full)
I noticed that although MOST of them (games etc) are already on my memory card there's a few stuck on the phone.
Many I guess can't be removed (such as 'Symbian OS' stuff, 'OVI Maps' or other 'OVI Store' stuff) but what about programs that seem to be 'duplicates' (i.e. seem to do the same thing) ??
Why should I have 2 'Map' programs or 2 'Email' program etc ??
In particular - why should I need to have 'Mail for Exchange' AND 'Nokia Mail' installed at the same time. Both are ~ 1Mb each and both seem to be related to 'Getting Emails onto the phone'
Can't I just stick to one one them - say 'Nokia Mail' & remove 'Mail for Exchange' ??
Doinf so will only free up 1Mb of phone memory, but it'll help - or does one program rely on the other ??
    Thanks in advance
P.S. I've just noticed there's a couple of other programs 'In Phone memory' that seem suspicious.
One is called 'Chinese Lion (164Kb Supplier: QTEL) and the other is called 'Diamonds' (102kb Supplier: WANGP) - anyone know what these are ??
    Motto: Illegitimis non carborundum

Most users don't need both, but each has a different purpose which is why both are offered. Nokia Messaging is Nokia's in-house push mail service available for all consumers (currently it requires a certain type of operator subscription, but I understand that is about to change so that it is open to all). Mail for Exchange is primarily for business users whose company uses Microsoft Exchange for corporate mail.
Likewise, you don't need to Maps apps - GPS-equipped phones always have Nokia/Ovi Maps preisntalled, unless youe phone is an operator-variant from a network which has its own GPS service or you bought the phone second-hand from somebody else, I don't see why it would have another similar application.
For general memory management, this post which I made in reply to another user with memory issues may help:

  • Removing Mail For Exchange from Nokia 5800

Hi. My Nokia 5800 is running the firmware version v.30.0.011 (latest available).
I installed MfE via the App. Update.
However, now, I don't need it anymore and have removed it using the application manager.
The problem now is that whenever I go to file manager and try to send any file, it shows the option "Via Mail for Exchange" despite it being non-functional.
Is it possible to remove that entry from my "Send" list?

Only E-Series can handle security policies. It might happen that a N-Series or other S60 devices supports one or more policies but all are only supported by E-Series.
Device lock might work on 5800 buit if there is a policy that is not supported by the device access is denied. MfE supports all 2003SP and 2007 security policies and a subset of 2007SP1.
Please check the TSG on www.businesssoftware.nokia.com.
There are several other things the admin needs to check. Please try it with a E-Series device.

  • No email body in mail for exchange? Nokia E52

On my Nokia E52 i have setup mail for exchange access to gmail, but all it seems to download is the header with who its from and the subject? There isnt any mention of the email body/message at all?
My contacts and calendar all sync properly.
Am i missing something?  On my ipod touch it downloads the messages using the exact same account

Curious issue, on the 22nd January 2010, I also got a system message stating ‘Mail for Exchange – Your account does not have permission to synchronise with your current settings.'  then a further message saying that the phone required a locking password etc.  This resulted in the phone being locked before it could be opened.
I'm sure nothing changed on the local mail servers, so I wonder what has changed on the Mail For Excange settings?

  • N8 Mail for Exchange – problems with date separato...

key points are highlighted by bold text
    Hi,
I'm using my Nokia N8-00 for one month now and everything works fine except three issues I discovered using Mail for Exchange. Two weeks ago I contacted our domain/mail hoster to set up a MS Exchange account for me.
Setting up the account on my N8-00 worked as expected, but after a detailed look I found some problems concerning the date separator (normally set in the settings of the clock-application) and the synchronizing of anniversaries.
To be sure the sources of the problems are not produced by the server I set up the Mail for Exchange (newest available version of Mail for Exchange via Ovi-Store – 3.00(50)) account on my N82. Comparisons to my N82 are mentioned below.
My first problem with Mail for Exchange on my N8 is that the date separator is switched from . (point) to – (minus) automatically. I'm pretty sure this issue depends on the N8’s Mail for Exchange, cause it only happens in the peak-time (off-peak is set to sync manually). The strange thing is that I cannot trace back this occurrence – it just happens randomly in the peak-period.
On my N82 this problem doesn’t occur. Additionally the support employee at my mail hoster told me he is using an E-Series (Mail for Exchange 2.07) device without having this issue.
Is there a workaround or a fix coming for this issue? Is there anybody else having this issue?
Now coming to the second issue I sustain using Mail for Exchange on the N8-00. Some of my contacts that are synced to my device get the wrong date of birth displayed in the device. Upon contacts where this problem occurs the date of birth is displayed one day earlier than set in Outlook.
I found out that this issue only happens to contacts born prior to 198* (* between 1 to 4 – sorry not sure about the exact date). One example is the date 02.10.1978, which is displayed as 01.10.1978 in my phone. Even if I set up a new test-contact with this date of birth it is displayed wrong in my phone!
But it doesn’t happen to all birthdates prior to 198*. And also on this issue I’m not sure where it’s coming from.
This problem doesn’t happen on my N82 and the E-Series device mentioned above.
Last but not least the third issue which in a way is similar to the one above but doesn’t happen in the contacts application. Birthdays which are automatically entered as all-day-series in the calendar by Outlook aren’t synced to the device as birthday events (as Ovi-Suite does). Sometimes they aren’t even all-day events – they have a starting time at midnight and an end time at midnight the next day.
If I change those events to real all-day-birthday-events in the calendar app of my N8-00 they are synced back to my Outlook one day prior to their real date – sounds familiar, huh?
To be sure these issues are not produced by me in any curious way I made sure that every birthday-event in Outlook is an automatically entered event. Additionally I checked the time zones and the date-separator of Exchange via Outlook Web Access and on my phone – they are both set to GMT +1 and the date is set to dd.mm.yyyy.
What makes me angry is that those issues don’t happen to my older device.
Please help me to fix these problems!
    Greetings
    Lars

I am having ongoing problems with Hotmail and my N8's Mail for Exchange. I have all the latest firmware updates from Nokia, that as I understand it was supposed to fix the problem, it hasn't. I've even done a hard reset on the phone, which lost a ton of stuff that my service provider had installed
Hotmail via MfE works for a couple of days then stops connecting and refuses to update mail or calendar entries, I then delete the account and recreate it and it all works again for a couple of days. I know this isn't a problem with Hotmail as my Nokia 5800 works perfectly with its MfE.
This is spoiling what is otherwise a good phone as it's a main feature for me as I use the calendar in Hotmail to organise my meetings etc.

  • Mail for Exchange and SSL certificate

I have a little problem with Mail For Exchange and my Nokia N80. I have self-signed certificate for Exchange mailserver and when I am synchronizing e-mails I got always message: "The site has sent an untrusted certificate. Continue anyway ?". I underestand that my certificate isn't verified by any root authority, but if I have synchronization schedule set at 15 minutes it means I have to confirm this message four times when I am not with my mobile one hour. So question is:
Is possible to import self-signed SSL certificate into Nokia N80 and set it as trusted ? If yes, please describe me how, because I have tried import the certificate as CER (it was opened just as NOTE on Nokia), I tried to convert it via openssl to PEM (the file was not recognized) etc... Thanks for any help in advance.

Go to your outlook web access website and click on the lock and then view certificate. The details and then you can save it in DER format to your desktop.
    Then go to this site:
http://www.redelijkheid.com/symcaimport/ and insert through the browse button and then copy the link to your phone.
Then you should be able to download it
You can also go to your IIS default site on the exchange server and directory security and export your certificate under edit certificate.
I have tried everything now. I can download my certificate and the valicert from GoDaddy, but the Nokia phone is still saying "do you trust this certificate" every time the phone syncs.
Our firm have taken the E-phones away now and went over to windows mobile and all of them worked within 10 minutes without any errors.
The funny thing is that when you try to call nokia, they wont help you with Mail for Exchange, and it is there program
I know my GoDaddy certificate works on windows mobile phones, so It must be something with Mail for Exchange.
Every guy I talked to about symbian phones have told me they always gives problems with SSL. I am a bit **bleep**, but can conclude that Nokia is for the private consumer.

  • Mail for Exchange Widget N97mini

    Hi everybody
I have the following problem with Mail for Exchange on my Nokia N97mini :
On the startsite i got that Mail for Exchange Widget, but it only shows my outgoing mails instead of my incoming mails. Can somebody tell me how i make them switch positions?
The Nokia Support tells me i need to Contact the Exchange Admin... unfortunatly thats me, and i found no way to sort these Folders in Exchange.
There is also no way to edit the assorting of the mailboxes in the Nokia N97 menu.
If i connect another Exchange account it works fine.... But in the account of my boss the assorting got mixed up.
Yes all the Exchange accounts are the same... it only differs in some custom folders in Outlook.
Has anybody some ideas to fix that Problem?
Would be nice if you could help out.
    Best regards
    Sven

Mail For Exchange displays wrong folder on widget, if folder names has been localized. See following discussion thread:
    http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/t5/Messaging-Email-and-Browsing/Organize-MfE-folders/m-p/908089 .
This has been planned to fix on next version of Mail for Exchange software.

  • Problem with 5630 on mail for exchange

    Hi,
I'm using Nokia 5630 based on S60 3rd Edition Software.
I've downloaded the latest Mail For Exchange (2.9.158) from Nokia website - http://www.nokia.com.sg/get-support-and-software/download-software/mail-for-exchange/compatibility-a... with 5630 model selected.
Howevere, during installation it prompted "The Mail for Exchange software you are trying to install is not compatible with this device" and the installation failed.
Checking the menu and website saying that 5630 is supporting and compatible with Mail For Exchange software.  Please help as I really don't know what is the problem.

  • Nokia N8 Mail for Exchange deleting all emails fro...

I've got a Nokia N8 which was working perfectly fine with Mail for Exchange, but recently has got the annoying habit of deleting all the messages from my inbox and moving them all to the deleted folder.
The only thing I've done differently as of late was in linking my hotmail account to my other phone which was a E5.
I've unlinked and deleted the account from the E5, but about once a day, I will check my MFE on my N8 and all messages have been deleted to where I will moved them back from Deleted to the Inbox.
It seems like it will be fine for a couple of hours, then it will delete them.
I've removed the mailbox and reinstalled, but it keeps happening.
    Very annoying.
    Any recommendations?
I'm about ready to flash to 11.05 and back to Anna again.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

flotron posted this temporary workaround in the other thread:
"I think i found the problem.. (i think i said)
For the moment no deleted messages in about 2 days, the workaround:
Don't open/use Windows Live Mail client at same time you use/connect Nokia Exchange
It seems that using Nokia and WLM at the same time makes some conflict
I hope this will solve the problem. Now from computer i'm checking my emails from the web client"
I was using Outlook as my other client, but I guess the conflict with Exchange ActiveSync was the same

  • N97 mini mail for exchange integration into Nokia ...

    Hi,
I posted this question last week but my post seems to have disappeared.
I was wondering if it is possible to integrate mail for exchange into Nokia messaging on my N97 mini. I know that with some other S60 5th edition devices (like the C6), it is possible to access exchange accounts from within Nokia messaging, but on my phone it seems that Nokia messaging and Mail for Exchange are 2 separate applications.
I prefer the interface of Nokia messaging and prefer my emails to open in HTML by default.
Is there any update I can get so that I can do this?

Hi pj98, thanks for clarifying that.
I have heard rumours that there may be a PR2 firmware update for the N97 mini. Can you tell me if this is true?
If it is, I am hoping the N97 mini will get some of the updates to symbian ^1, including a new mail client, as seen in the C5.
I guess you're probably not at liberty to discuss this openly! But you can't blame me for trying!
