Problem with multiple same emails - thinking of clean reinstall

Hi. My OS is windows vista home edition and I am using Thunderbird version 31.0. My email provider is MSN.
When thunderbird checks mail, Instead of receiving one copy of an email, I am sometimes getting two and even three copies of the same email. They all have the same date and time. I have tried some suggestions including deleting .msf and popstate.dat files and also making sure that the server is not set to keep emails there. This fixes things for a day and then I am back to getting multiple emails. It's annoying.
I am thinking about doing a clean reinstall of TB. I have the mozbackup utiility and I am going to back up emails and contacts. As far as uninstalling thunderbird completely goes, is there an instruction page for that? Does anyone think this will help?

A note for the future....
Files:- Are rebuilt by right clicking a folder, selecting properties and then repair. It is easier that digging into the file system. The other "index" you refered to with no extension is not an index, it is the actual mail. Inadvertently deleting local copies of mail not on the server can be something of a disaster. Right clicking the folder and selecting compact will clear corruption there. But it may well get rid of corrupt mail as the MSF files are what is used to display lists in Thunderbird.

I have a program that takes a 100+ page PDF file and sends 100+ emails to various recipients, each of whom receives a different page of the PDF as an attachment. Each week, a dozen or more recipients don't get the email--it's not always the same recipient, nothing bounces back, and there are nothing in any of the local logs to indicate a problem. Problem with multiple Toplink/JPA apps in same server

Anyone have experence of running serveral Toplink/ EJB-3 Web apps in the same server (OC4J, alas)?
We seem to get a problem with the second app failing to initialise toplink, with an entity not found message. Each app runs OK on it's own.

Yes, they access the same datasource and most of the tables overlap.
We're thinking it might help to have common entity classes and put them in a shared library, but I don't know if this is relevant (setting up shared libraries complicates testing and tends to snowball, I reckon we need about 15 jars all told).
I''ve had some funnies on OC4J before which I think may be to do with it's use of ClassLoaders, for example I initially put persistence.xml in the libary jar with the data model, but for some reason I get the entity not found error that way. It only seems to work if it's in the classes folder.
For the moment we're getting arround the problem with multiple OC4J instances in the server.

Inbox filling up with the same emails

My Inbox fills up many times a day with the same emails that It's already imported. I've trashed these new imports but it doesn't matter. Should I trash the plist? But will that lose my saved mail? The only thing that stops this temporarily is if I go to the server and trash the emails there. But then as I get new emails it starts doing the multiple imports again.

Sorry I don't have much to offer in the line of troubleshooting your problem but wanted to let you know that the gold coloring of the email subject lines just indicates that is being marked as "junk" mail.
It might help those helping you to post a screen shot or two of your Preferences Settings for Junk Mail tab for Mail.app including your advanced settings for the Junk Mail tab. If not if you could let those of us helping to know exactly what you have ticked etc. under those settings. Be careful not to include personal info in the shots or posting of settings.
Also, do you have many GB's of emails stored in your mailboxes? Overstuffed mailboxes can cause many problems with mail but I have never heard of it affecting multiple copies of emails being downloaded to your account. I might also suspect that fact that you have 16 different accounts setup might be the cause of some corruption somewhere causing this anomaly with your mail downloading in that fashion.

We have been having issues with links on our email templates. Some of the links point to the following URL:

This is rather late, but we've seen the same thing frequently (and I believe can replicate it). It's caused when you a creating a new email by copying the content of an existing one with a name space in it.
Upon copying, the link gets scrambled. The approach we use is to copy the email in to a new template, then strip out all of the URL links and add them back in.

Problems with my yahoo email account using Firefox

I am using Firefox 14.0.1 and I have problems with my yahoo email account. I send an email, the receiver got a good version of my email, but when I see the same email into my sent box I see a differente text. When I use any other Internet browser, I can see a good version of my original email into the sent box.

If you have security software (antivirus, firewall etc.) installed, you can try deleting all existing instances of Firefox and related files in all the different configuration areas/modules of the security software. Instead create new allow/trusted rules for Firefox + its related processes. We have problems with multiple IDocs in one file.
We are using XIB ( Amtrix ) as Middleware to receive the files.
Curretenly When the file contains one IDoc then there is no problem. IDoc is created and everything is ok.
If file contains two IDocs ( for example two messages ORDERS and DELVERY ) then it is creating two IDocs but both IDocs contains ORDERS plus DELIVERY segements information. That is the problem. Some how SAP unable to differentiate the IDocs in the file.. But it knows that how many idocs are there in the file..because it is creating exact number of idocs.
We are using TRFC port ... Do I need to change it to File port..
When we have more than one idoc do we need set any parameter in the file ...

As of now , Middleware cannot split the file.
Thing is SAP is creating two Idocs with different message types. Problem is First IDoc contains ORDERS message type but also DELIVERY segments as well. Second IDoc with DELIVERY message tyoe but ORDERS segments as well... This is the problem... I think we are missing some field activation in file for EDIDC record.
As far as I know file port supports the number of IDocs in one file.. Hope TRFC port also supports that

HT1146 problem with bt/yahoo email password

I have had an email set up on my macbook air. suddenly, it started to ask me about password "imap.yahoo.mail does not recognise your password" however, when I log on via Safari I have no problem. I deleted the email, restarted my laptop and still having same problem.
I even tried to set up a different email (hotmail) and still got same pop up window showing the message "imap.yaho.mail server did not recognise your password"!
I am not sure what went wrong. Any advice?

My advice would be to ignore the email until Yahoo have had time to fix all the bugs and problems with their new email system.

Click on your account name in the top right corner of the iTunes store in the iTunes application on your computer, enter your password and click the "view account" button. Navigate to the Apple ID summary where you have the option to "change country or region".
In order to change your location, you will need a credit card registered to an address in the location you are trying to change to.
You cannot change your location if you have credit on your account, if you are unable to spend your credit and leave a balance of zero, contact Apple, which you can do through iTunes Store Support.

I don't know if that works on the iPhone, but....
View your SETTINGS and choose ICLOUD. That will give you your cloud settings. At the very bottom it has a delete button. Click it an see what happens. After deleting the account (and potentially loosing data connected with it) you should be able to log in to iCloud using your old id.

You probably mean that you forgot your digital certificate password and I presume that this is a self-signed certificate that you yourself created, not a certificate that you received from a Certificate Authority (CA). If this is true then you can create a new self-signed digital certificate (Digital ID in Acrobat-speak) the same way you created the first one: In Acrobat XI it is Edit->Preferences->Signatures->Identities&Trusted Certificates->More. Then click on "Add ID" button and follow the prompts. You can create as many self-signed certificates with the same credentials (name, email, etc.) as you wish. You'd have to figure out how to distinguish them, though.

Hey Bumblebee, To each other, no-- would be like trying to call yourself on the same phone. To different persons on other devices??? Not sure you'll have to try, I'm guessing if both are online you may well dial up on both, (once had the same address on the my computer and iPod, both would ring when called, this stopped when I changed the iPod's address). No. You can share the same Apple ID for iTunes content, but for everything else...FaceTime, iMessage, iCloud, etc., you really need separate Apple ID's & these iD's must be verifiable email addresses. If you don't set things up that way, you'll have a mess on your hands.

I have developed a BC secure zone in Muse as a members only area. This works fine. I have subscribed all the members and all is OK except that I find if I try to subscribe 2 members with the same email address (e.g. a married couple with a shared email address), the first subscription is overwritten by the second. Is there a solution or do I just live with it?

This is the default behavior of the system because email is the unique identifier. You can't have more than 1 subscriber with the same email address.
