Problem with my feed

the service i was using server went down for a couple of hurs but ever since it came back up i cant find it in the itunes store anymore so my subscribers cannot get the new show. i tried re submiting the feed but itunes says they already have it
heres my feed
http://bxgs.podOmatic.com/rss2.xml
any help def is appreciated

A couple of things. The syntax of your category listing is incorrect. You have:
<itunes:category text="Music">
</itunes:category>
it should be:
<itunes:category text="Music" />
since you only have a single category.
One other thing is that the <duration> of your podcast episodes is incorrect. It should be in the form of HH:MM:SS. So iTunes shows your latest episode as 1 minute and 49 seconds, rather than 1 hour and 49 minutes. The podcasts are very large, the latest episode being around 250mb.

  • Problem with RSS feeds in AppleMail

If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it. I have several RSS feeds that come in through AppleMail. Every so often, it stops receiving all of the feeds (I get an explanation point next to the the RSS header). After a day or so, it will start receiving feeds again. I have no problem getting e-mails... just my RSS feeds. Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks!

I have just experienced the same problem with RSS feeds through AppleMail. A couple of days ago (just after I had upgraded to Aperture 3 - not sure if that's relevant) the exclamation mark appeared next to all the Mailboxes for my RSS feeds, and has not disappeared. If I click on the exclamation mark I get the message "there was an error updating the RSS feed 'Apple Hot News'. The RSS feed is temporarily unavailable because an internal error occurred".
I have tried shutting down, and deleting the RSS plist - with no effect.
Other details - the problem exists on a MacBook Pro, running Sno (v 10.6.2 - all updates applied) and Apple Mail v4.2. I can send / receive regular email. I also have an iMac (also running Sno 10.6.2 and Apple Mail v4.2) - RSS feeds work fine on this machine. Both machines use the same wireless broadband router.
    Grateful for any help. Thanks

  • LASERJET P2015-PROBLEMS WITH PAPER FEED

We have a HP LaserJet P2015 in the office.  When the paper reaches the halfway point, the printer makes a horrible sound and will not feed the paper.  Anybody have any suggestion?

So, I cranked up my old PowerBook G4 (OS 10.4.11) which has the older driver for the P2015dn and the problem remains.
I have made some progress: If I want to print with paper feed from Tray 1, I pull Tray 2 out a few inches, load the paper in Tray 1, start the print job, and the yellow Attention LED flashes indicating an error. Note that the Paper Out light does NOT come on. So I press the Go button, the Attention LED goes out, and the print job completes using the forms in Tray 1 as desired.
So I'm thinking now, What Error condition? and why does clearing it make it print?
Certainly seems like a hardware problem to me as this is NOT the way the printer is supposed to work as documenetd in the User Guide.

  • I have read up, and am still having problems with RSS Feed

    Greetings Everyone.
I really need some help with my RSS feed before I go insane. I would like to think I know what I am doing, but obviously there is some little (or big!) step I am overlooking.
Ok here is my site: www.drewernst.com it is hosted by asmallorange.com
    My pocast is at www.drewenst.com/podcast
This is the rss feed iWeb generated: feed://www.drewernst.com/podcast/The%20Jeff%20and%20Drew%20Podcast/rss.xml
Now, from everything I have read so far - it seems that as long as you get the URL right when you are publishing to a folder, iWeb should do the rest. Also, it is important to put the whole folder containing your podcast in your root web folder otherwise it breaks the feed. Both of these things I have done. (obviously not correctly, or it would be working!)
I read Many tutorials and topics I could find about this, but it still doesn't seem to work for me. Apple suggests taking the RSS feed an pasting it into itunes under Advanced menu "subscribe to podcast" to make sure your feed is valid before submitting to itunes.
When I do this, I get an message saying "there was a problem downloading... An unknown error occurred (-50).
I tried using a feed validator and it came back with so many errors. I just don't know that much about RSS, but i have been working on this for about a month and it's driving me crazy. No one I have asked at the apple store has been any more helpful than to suggest I just buy a .mac account and do it from there(honestly the nerve. wink.) I don't need .mac, I have my own website.
    Thanks in advance.
    Mr. Rss Crazy,
    Drew
Oh, I tried to be as detailed as possible but if I left anything important out, please just ask...I will be watching this like a hawk.
    iMac 2.0ghz Core 2 Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

So, my web-host said that it's a problem with the RSS feed, not there hosting.
They pointed me to "Feed Validator" which I looked at before. I have a lot of errors.
    http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.drewernst.com%2Fpodcast% 2FThe%2520Jeff%2520and%2520Drew%2520Podcast%2Frss.xml
Shouldn't Garageband and iWeb have taken care of these errors. I don't even know how I would correct them. I thought this was supposed to be a 1-2-3 process, like the documentation of both programs said.
Sorry if I sound sarcastic, I am just frustrated.

  • Problem with podcast feed on windows 7

    Hi
I have had the following podcast working in itunes for over 3 years.
However, a couple of months ago I moved to a new PC with windows 7 and now the downloads start, stop straight away and give a 404 error.  However, when I use my old XP pc or Vista laptop the downloads in itunes still work.
    http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/stanway-evangelical-church/id277422426?mt=2
I have even copied the link against one of the podcasts in the itunes store and copied into a new browser.  When you then click play in the itunes browser version it plays.  So it is not an issue that the podcast does not exist and the server being down.
    http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/6-may-2012-church-at-4/id277422426?i=11599693 1&mt=2
I would be grateful for any insight as it is very annoying.
    Technical
I use Podcast Station to create the RSS file (this has not changed since 2008)
I have not changed any formats
    Thanks
    Simon

Hhhmmmm! There is definitely a problem.
I've just tried the first link you gave, found the Podcast in iTunes Store and selected Free for the episode of 29th July (which should download the epsiode as a Podcast). Although it looked as though iTunes was downloading it, and gave no error message when it "finished", there is nothing downloaded. (Never seen a failed download but with no error message before!)
I even tried the episode from 8th July, but with the same result. In fact, in both cases, the progress bar went straight from "looking for the episode" to "done" in the iTunes Download section. I even attempted to watch the download in my file manager. The temporary folder is created but no content arrives and eventually the temporary folder is erased.
This is a Podcast problem. Although you managed to play an episode, (in iTunes - I can't), it is a different process to "play" the file as distinct from downloading it as a Podcast episode, so that explains why it can be played in a browser but not downloaded as a Podcast.
I suggest you contact the programme's producers, since it is they who control the Podcast, not iTunes/Apple. I'm sure their first reaction is likely to be that it's an iTunes problem. It may be, (although I doubt it), but as I stated, Apple don't control Podcasts and they will not fault find this one. From previous posts about faulty Podcasts, I know that if the problem is with the iTunes Store, it will still be the producers of the programme who fault find and then report the issue to Apple.

  • Problem with RSS Feed & iTunes U

    Hello:
The following RSS feed passes feedvalidator with two minor errors, and other feeds have these similar two minor errors but work with iTunes U.
But, the following feed doesn't work with iTunes U.
    http://www.kued.org/productions/utahnow/?action=videocast&cat=4
    Any suggesitons?

An additional note: the error message iTunesU is returning is:
    Error
iTunes U could not update the content in this group because iTunes U could not download the specified RSS feed. Verify that the RSS feed specified in the Feed URL is available, and then try again.
Clearly the feed is "available", and is in fact error free:
    http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kued.org%2Fproductions%2 Futahnow%2F%3Faction%3Dvideocast%26cat%3D4
I've been through the feed pretty thoroughly and cannot see what in it could be giving iTunesU grief.

  • Problem with yammer feed

been trying to get a yammer feed (based on topic) to show up in the gallery window.
Managed to complete the App registration etc with Yammer, and I can see the test data when I run some of the requests, but I can't seem to get the data into the 'collection' in a way that I can use the data.
Some controls in the bahaviour control of the Screen/page seem to update the Collection with the columns, but no data is populated.
here is the code from the OnVisible:
Collect(myfeed,Yammer_1!Thread(398589461)) (where thread(id) is a value thread value)
but nothing is returned to the collection, hence the gallery is unable to display data.
    Any ideas greatly appreciated...

    Hello jph1ll1ps,
When you set a rule in the behaviour like Screen1.OnVisible, the behaviour has to be triggered so the rule is executed. We can do it by adding another screen and then switch back to the first screen. The act of switching from
Screen2 back to Screen1 will trigger the
OnVisible rule execution and it’ll populate the collection.
A good practice is also to clear the collection before populating it. I would recommend changing the rule slightly so it looks like:
        Clear(myfeed);Collect(myfeed,Yammer!Thread(398589461))
Please note that as a result of the call to Yammer!Thread(threadId), you’ll get back an object. This means that when you bind it to a gallery, you’ll see only one item in it. If you want the gallery to be populated with meaningful data,
you might want to bind its Items property some of the array object’s in the thread response. For example you can use
    myfeed!references.
    Best regards,
    Stan

  • Problems with Foto-Feed

When I try to subscribe to a foto-feed and klick on SUBSCRIBE in the web gallery iPhoto opens with an error message "The subscription "MobileMe Atom Feed" contains no fotos. Make sure that the URL is correct etc ..."
When subscibin to RSS everything is okay ...
    FOUND THE ANSWER MYSELF!
I still bookmarked the URL http://gallery.mac.com/name ... with this URL the gallery is DISPLAYED correctly but you CAN NOT subscribe to a feed ... it MUST BE the URL gallery.ME.com !

I have now found a further repeated error (which FeedValidator missed). If you look at the FeedValidator report I linked to, and look at line 22, you will see:
<itunes:summary>Descargate los podcast de Diario de un chico trabajador y escucha los mejores cuentos y canciones seleccionados semana a semana. Ademas: las mejores entradas del blog para escucharlas en tu reproductor.:summary>
There is no proper closing tag: the whole thing should read
<itunes:summary>Descargate los podcast de Diario de un chico trabajador y escucha los mejores cuentos y canciones seleccionados semana a semana. Ademas: las mejores entradas del blog para escucharlas en tu reproductor.</itunes:summary>
There is a similar tag with the same error in every episode entry. You should correct this in every entry, and also remove the excess '>' at the end of line 2:
    <rss xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd" version="2.0">
I did this on a copy of your feed which I uploaded temporarily to my server and was able to subscribe to it. This link will download a zipped copy of the amended feed for you to try:
    http://files.me.com/rfwilmut/jenadi
I don't know what you are writing the feed with, but I couldn't open your original feed at all in TextEdit and I should have been able to: I was able to open it in PageSpinner and resave it. When you amend your feed you should make sure it opens in TextEdit. Of course if my modified version works OK for you then you can just go on from that.

  • CNN HD,,,,,problems with signal/feed?

I am in the SE part of the US - SWFL to be exact. I am wondering if anyone else might be experiencing signal issues with CNN HD? It seems like it skips and freezes up momentarily several times within a 2-3 minute period, and always seems to occur after 2:00pm ET ..... CNN SD does not have this issue - just the HD version.

I am having the same problems I reported it to support however they said they fixed it.  I still have the problem about every 2 hours my audio skips and the screen looks like the video is intermitting with little squars all all over the screen.  They were sending a teck over but it doesn't happen all the time.  Like yesterday it did it about 8 times.  I only happenes to CNN and it is on 2 TV's with different boxes.  I am in the Hudson Florida area.

  • Audio problem with iTunes feed when played on iPod

I'm writing to see if someone can help.
The audio on my podcast works fine at Libsyn (at http://epltalk.libsyn.com). However, the same version that's on iTunes has audio problems when played on an iPod (it plays fine when it's played from the iTunes program on my Mac). During the interview portion of the podcast on my iPod -- downloaded from iTunes (listed under 'EPL Talk')-- you can only hear the answers, but you can't hear the questions (my voice).
Does anyone have any suggestions of what could be wrong? All of my other podcasts I listen to on the same iPod play fine. Very strange.
    Cheers,
    The Gaffer

Try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

  • Feed problems with iTunes

    Hi everyone,
This is my first post. I have a podcast that I submitted to iTunes yesterday. I got a confirmation from them this afternoon saying it had been accepted, and it appeard on the store fine. I subscribed to it and episode was playing perfectly.
Then out of nowhere I get an e-mail saying it has been blocked due to technical problems with the feed.
It tells me to fix the feed and re-submit to iTunes. I have run my feed through Feed Validator and it says it is valid, but could do with sorting a few things.
The problem is, I'm a relative newbie, and I REALLY struggle with this XML stuff and how to fix it. It's like another language to me.
    The feed is
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/soundmacleod
A few problems come up, despite it being valid, and I would really like to make it so that iTunes don't reject it again.
Can ANYONE here run the feed through feed validator and explain in simple english what I need to do to my feed to make it 'clean'?
I'd really appreciate some help with this. I just want my podcast to be available in iTunes!!!
    Thanks

As you say, the podcast appears on the Store page but shows no image or episodes. Subscribing works correctly.
I can't offer any easy explanation for this. Part of the difficulty may be Feedburner's peculiar way of going about things. The feed URL you give works for subscribing, but if entered into a browser produces a web page drawn from the feed. This page gives the actual feed URL as
    http://feeds2.feedburner.com/watchwithmothers/podcast?format=xml
And it may be that while subscribing (which takes place in the iTunes application, not the Store) can parse the shorter version to reach the XML, the Store can't. This may be difficult to deal with, since if you try to submit the URL above you will be told that the podcast already exists.
I can only suggest you approach iTunes Support:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/podcast/
though I have to tell you that they are liable to give you a stock answer which won't address the problem. You might get better results by asking Feedburner.

  • Troubles with my feeds:

I've been having difficulties with both of my iTunes feeds over the past week or so. One feed is two episodes behind, while the other is one episode behind, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why.
The episodes show up and download fine in other podcatcher applications, but not in iTunes, and those who subscribe now get the exclamation mark of doom.
Here are the links to my Feedvalidator details for each feed: http://www.feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Ffeeds.feedburner.com%2FC omicTiming
    http://www.feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Ffeeds.feedburner.com%2Ft ypepad%2FvHDj
Each feed is valid except for a few errors, but none of those errors appear to be associated with the episodes not showing up on iTunes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm at quite a loss here.

I had similar problems with my feed, but installing all the additional plug-in files corrected my feed. Unfortunately, it's 4 days later and iTMS still hasn't updated my Podcast's directory listing and still only shows one episode.
Anyway, that's my problem. Your problem can most likely be corrected by reading the part of the documentation where it says, "Optional Files."

  • Newbie podcaster struggling with submitting feed to iTunes--please help!

Hi, I have a new podcast (one episode so far). I've posted the audio file and show notes on a WordPress.org site at: http://www.workstewpodcast.com/
I have a link to this site from my main site (http://workstew.com/) which is in a WordPress.com template.
In the podcast site (i.e. the WordPress.org site) I installed the Blubrry/PowerPress plug-in and submitted the "recommended iTunes" feed to iTunes. The feed validates when I use the validator...but 1) when I use the iTunes Advanced 'subscribe' function, I see Work Stew Podcast show up in my list of podcasts but I can't download the actual episode and 2) I got an email from iTunes saying:
The podcast located at the URL shown below has been blocked or removed from the iTunes directory as a result of technical problems with the feed.
    Name: Work Stew Podcast
    Feed URL: http://www.workstewpodcast.com/?feed=podcast
What am I doing wrong? Would so appreciate any help in getting this whole iTunes thing sorted out!
    Kate

Your feed validates, and I can't see anything wrong with it. I just subscribed to it in iTunes and it worked fine, downloading the episode. There is currently no obvious reason why there should be a problem: but the fact that you were unable to get the episode to download suggests that perhaps the server was not responding at that time. Certainly a failure to access the media file would get your podcast rejected.
I don't know anything about blubrry.com - you could ask them whether there has been any technical problem. You do need a reliable server if you're going to run a podcast.
You should check it immediately before re-submitting to make sure it's working: you may be told that a podcast of that title has already been submitted (this is a minor bug in the system) in which case you will need to make a small change to the title - you can always change it back once it's been accepted, provided that changing the title doesn't change the feed URL (as for example it would in iWeb), so that's something you will need to check.
