Problem with my mac
The problem is all of a sudden when it starts up up comes the grey screen with apple logo as usual but now I have a progress bar and loading is much slower it is running in safe mode I think .
I have it set so no access unless i type in a password , the area where I do so now has safe mode in red is it telling me that Ishould run in safe mode or is it already and if it is why .
I just bought a new ipad which I plugged in to charge and did not .
I'm having a very hard time following everything you said, but regarding the gray screen with progress bar, that may be an indication that something is wrong with your hard drive. You should probably [repair the hard drive with Disk Utility|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1417].

Hello, I have a problem with my mac book pro after running the battery dead on a game. The display has shrunk leaving two black margins on either side. What to do ?
Go to System Preferences>Displays and set the resolution to "Best for this computer" (or something to that effect).

I have a problem with my mac, lit with blank screen loading bar and then goes out, I need assistencia on line or contact the Technical Support Service in Argentina
Priscilla,
if your Mac is still in warranty, then you should contact the Argentinian technical support service. If it is out of warranty, then we can try to lend a hand. (We’re just fellow Apple product users here.) -

I need to download dell drivers to a jumpdrive connected to my iMac. Will this cause problems with my Mac?
Thanks. These drivers are for the audio, etc. for a dell laptop I purchased used. ( Needed something cheap for a training video that would only run on Windows. Tried Emedia player but picture was too fuzzy.) Dell support said I should contact Apple support for instructions on how to get the drivers onto the jumpdrive. Any tips on doing that?

my PowerBook G4 has crashed 4 times in the last week. I got a message that there is a problem with the Mac OS Kernal. Does anyone know what this means?
Kernel panics are usually caused by a hardware problem – frequently RAM, a USB device or a Firewire device. What external devices do you have connected? When trying to troubleshoot problems, disconnect all external devices except your monitor, keyboard and mouse. Do you experience the same problems?
To eliminate RAM being the problem, Look at this link: Testing RAM @ http://guides.macrumors.com/Testing_RAM Then download & use Memtest & Ramber.
Do you have an Apple Hardware Test disc? Running the Apple Hardware Test in Loop Mode is an excellent troubleshooting step for finding intermittent hardware problems. It is especially useful when troubleshooting intermittent kernel panics. If Loop Mode is supported by the version of the Apple Hardware Test you are using, you run the Extended Test in Loop Mode by pressing Control-L before starting the test. Looping On should appear in the right window. Then click the Extended Test button. The test will run continuously until a problem is found. If a problem is found, the test will cease to loop, indicating the problem it found. If the test fails, be sure to write down the exact message associated with the failure. In some cases, RAM problems did not show up until nearly 40 loops, so give it a good run.
May be a solution on one of these links.

i have a problem with my mac i have too many archives and programs and i want to delete all files and start at the begin my mac with out do format
I do not recommend reformatting your harddrive and reloading your software. This is a Windows thing. On an older mac it may be difficult to find all your software again.
Best to have greater than 2gig of free space. Many posters to these forums state that you need much more free space: 5 gig to 10 gig or 10 percent of you hd size.

Be careful when deleting files. A lot of people have trashed their system when deleting things. Place things in trash. Reboot & run your applications. Empty trash.
Go after large files that you have created & know what they are. Do not delete small files that are in a folder you do not know what the folder is for. Anything that is less than a megabyte is a small file these days.

Run
OmniDiskSweeper
"The simple, fast way to save disk space"
OmniDiskSweeper is now free!

This will give you a list of files and folders sorted by size. Go after things you know that are big.

Buy an external firewire harddrive.
For a PPC computer, I recommend a firewire drive.
Has everything interface:
FireWire 800/400 + USB2, + eSATA 'Quad Interface'
save a little money interface:
FireWire 400 + USB 2.0
This web page lists both external harddrive types. You may need to scroll to the right to see both.

hi i have problem with my mac os x10.5.8 i cant't download new upload ?and the problem is that i can't found my app store on my mac .any help plz
If you can... you need to Upgrade your OS X to 10.6.8
It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.
Do this first...
Check that your Mac meets the System Requirements for Snow Leopard...
Snow Leopard Tech Specs > http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
If so... Purchase a Snow Leopard Install Disc...
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
After the Successful Install, run Software Update to get the latest updates for Snow Leopard and iTunes.
Be sure to make a Backup of your Current System Before Upgrading... -
I have a HP workforce 610 and cannot scan. I just spoke with HP and they told me it is a software problem with my MAC for image capture. Anyone else having difficulty?
If Image Capture doesn't work you could try the paid for app VueScan ( www.hamrick.com ). You can try it for free in demo mode to see if it works before purchase.

I have a macbook pro 10.7.3. I purchased finalemusic 2011. when I try to install it the terminal opens up on my mac and nothing happens. What do I do
and is there a problem with my mac. the program loads on my pc and it is for either windows or mac,Yeah the default program for installing Applications somehow got changed from the proper program to Terminal.
Right click on the App .DMG file and select Open With. It should say DiskImageMounter.App. If it says Terminal then select Other, at the bottom of the list, and then find DiskImageMounter.app.
Or after you right click on it select Get Info thenn in the Open With area select Other then find DiskImageMounter.app.
By the way you are in the correct forum. It is a Mac problem. -

I bought the UnZipper, vV1.0.00 (4+) , couldn't download (it reported an error in the end), didn't install it but still, I was charged by you. Also I can't update "The Unarchiver", could I have any problems with my Mac? It's a one-year-old Mac Pro Laptop. Could you help me please?
Check under App Store/Purchases for your purchase. Install it from there again. ... Hopefully you did buy this from Apple's App Store, right!

Hi doctor.saddam,
If your MacBook Pro is shutting down unexpectedly, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
OS X: When your computer spontaneously restarts or displays "Your computer restarted because of a problem." - Apple Support

Hi all, I have a strange problem with my Mac. Almost all windows I open have a "focus" on their controls (buttons, checkboxes and so on) even if they are not selected or even possibly will be. How can it be fixed?
Hello JIGSAW726,
This is the 'Full Keyboard Access' setting that allows you to manipulate various dialogs and controls without a mouse. This settings can be enabled/disabled in System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Keyboard Shortcuts, or with the keyboard shortcut: control + f7.
OS X Mountain Lion: Full keyboard access
