Problem with my Zen Micro Photo MP3 pla

It has worked fine ever since I bought it. All of a sudden tonight when I turn it on it's on a Recovery Mode Screen and it gave me 4 options.
. Clean Up
2. Format All
3. Reload Firmware
4. Reboot
?I tried all 4 of them but nothing worked. I tried to upgrade the firmware from Creatives website and it wouldn't allow me to. I tried to use Creatives MP3 recovery tool but it gave me an error message saying:
[color="#ff0000"]Administrator, please follow installation instructions from Solution ID # 6737 and run this recovery tool again.
So what do I do now? I have Windows Media Player and I just downloaded it again in case I didn't have the latest version.

Hi,
You can find the instructions for Solution ID #6737 here.
Good Luck.

  • Having big problems with Creative Zen Micro Photo!! I need much urgent help!

Hi. I am having a big problem with my MP3 Creative Zen Micro Photo device at the computer. Here is the thing:Before I bought this I had the regular Zen Micro & having fun with it. I had no problems with that when I used the Media Explorer to transfer songs. So I bought the Zen Micro Photo & installed it my computer. As normal I used the Media Explorer to transfer songs & pictures. So I reinstalled Windows XP at my computer, and when I installed the CD that followed to transfer new songs, the Windows said that it's an unknown thing I have connected in the USB.So I installed Service Pack & 2. I have tried to install drivers from the cd but it seems that there are no drivers on the cd! The big problem is that when I connect the MP3 to the computer, it doesn't read it's a Zen Micro, it's just unknown! So the Zen Micro Photo Media Explorer program doesn't work & I can't transfer songs or picture on it! And it just happened after I re-installed Windows on my computer. The same thing happened on my brother's computer after he re-installed windows. And when I connect the MP3 to the USB, it says that it's not a USB 2.0, but .! And I am sure it is 2.0 because it has always been like that before I re-installed windows. Also the MP3 does not re-charge when I put it my computer! The battery is just the same, it tries to do it but it doesn't. So I am using my sisters computer to charge the MP3 & transfer songs. I have tried everything but I can't seem to understand what the problem is? I have never experienced something like this before, and I really hope you can help me with this! To be honest I think what I am missing is the driver. So can someone PLEASE provide me the link for the driver? I have downloaded all those 3 on www.creative.com, but they are none of them! Also that playforsure firmawre thingy does not work because it sais that I have to connect my MP3, and it is connected already! Please reply as quick as possible! Thanks a lot for you kind help!
I have also sent this mail to creative support! But please help me I have had this problem for almost 2 months now! =(Message Edited by anakwalajinn on 05-0-2006 08:47 PM

  • Cannot install Driver for the Creative Zen Micro Photo MP3 Pla

I was having some issues with my player so I formatted it and tried to reload the firmware. My computer will not download the driver. When I plug it into the USB it bings and then says "new hardware" It bounces back and forth from Creative touch to MTP device. Then when I try and install the driver I get the following Error: "The Specified service does not exist as an installed service"?How do I fix this?

OK didn't work. Still getting the same error.

  • VERY BIG PROBLEMS WITH MY ZEN MICRO AND MEDIASOURCE! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME! PLEASE RESPOND

Ok so a while back I had to give up my computer because it wasn't working.
I thought that with my new computer I'd be able to transfer all of my music from my zen micro onto my new computer.
Now my new computer is set up and I have installed creative mediasource and everything. I started to transfer my music from my zen onto my computer. My first 2 songs transfered successfully onto my computer. On the third song, I get this message:
"Unable to read file, file may be in use, missing, or corrupted."
I thought that maybe it was just that one song so I shrugged it off. But then it says the same thing for every single other song that i have! Only my first 2 songs out of my entire music library on my zen will transfer!!!
Please i really need your help!!!
And say that there is no hope in getting the rest of my songs to transfer and i have to download 094 songs from limewire? I'll surely be arrested for downloading that much! What should i do if i must download all of them?
And one more problem with my zen: Some of my Jump Little Children songs are doing something weird. The song will be fine and then a clip from another song will play during it! And then press next and it just keeps playing all of my Jump songs in order even though my player is on shuffle and they do the same thing with the clip from another song interupting it. Whats going on?
Most importantly though, i really need the questions answered about transfering from my zen to my computer because i'll be getting a new player soon. But this is my entire music library at stake!! PLEASE RESPOND!!!

  • Problems with Creative zen Micro Pho

    Hello.
Today my creative zen Micro Photo came.
Eeverything works, the software, the player, but i cant put files on it. Hes loading the battery if i take the player on my USB.
But the software (Zen Micro Photo Media Explorer) doesnt recognice the player, so what shall i do?
sorry for my mad englisch, im from germany

Have you tried going into Device Manager and updating the driver for the Micro? You don't actually have to install a driver update, you can just elect to use the driver that is already installed, and Windows will attempt to refresh the pairing between the installed driver and your specific player.

  • One of a kind problem with the zen micro(which i love)......... PLEASE HELP me bring it back to l

[color="#ff6600" size="4" face="Verdana">I have a creative zen micro and when i try to turn it on?i get?the blue glow but it only goes to the screen that says creative with the copyright info?then it'sfreezes?there and i have to take the battery out to turn it off. Also when i try to connect it to my computer it does the exact?same thing. This is basically all i get out of my zen lately, and its been doing this for a few months now. Ive tried the take out battery while holding on thing... but i dont even get the recovery screen or whatever. And the worst part..... i dont have a warranty. A few things that?might?have led to this problem are

    An update...
I downloaded Apple's (rather large!) list of software updates today, and I was finally able to recognize my iPod again. I did a restore using the iPod updater from 06-2006, and all seemed to work OK. (I'm afraid to try the new one again!)
Then I tried to re-load my music library from iTunes, and got stuck. It froze up after a while and wouldn't go any further.
When I disconnected my iPod from my computer, I find 2 podcasts and nothing else, though iTunes told me it had transferred 600+ songs. Those 2 podcasts do play fine, and the basic iPod software all seems to be intact.
So -- anyone get through this connection problem and have any ideas to share??

  • Experience w/ Zen Micro 6GB MP3 Pla

The 6GB version of Zen Micro has been out... If you have purchased one, can you please provide me your experience with the new player? I am interesting on whether Creative has fixed some known issues with the 5GB player such as head phone jack.. Also, is there any difference between 6GB and 5GB?

I just received the 6 Gb Zen Micro 3 days ago from Creative. It fired up with no problems, and connected as expected with the pc running XP SP2. The Creative software for the computer looks like a mess, Windows Media player 0 is much more intuiti've and works well with the Zen. So far so good. Synching with Outlook is the next challenge.
Lack of accessories is my only sore point. No belt clip is a problem for the gym. Right now the Zen is jammed in an IPod neoprene jacket with a circular cutout that my daughter decided wasn't cool enough for her. Maybe I'll resort to making a case from an Altoids tin like I saw in another forum.
    Greg.
PS: If ordering from creative, tell them to put some packing between the Zen box and the shipping box. Mine was rattlling around in a box that was about "x 4".

  • Help Me, problems with my Zen Micro. (please see inside for scenar

I turned on my Zen Micro
then it is stucked at the CREATIVE LOGO
so I did the Recovery Mode
    I chose Clean Up
So a window came out that says something like are you sure you want to clean up so I chose YES.
then a window came out that says "Scan Disk or Scanning Disk"
I thought that my problem is already over
but, Oh My God! I've already been waiting for like 8 hours and the window saying "Scan Disk" is still not finish. waaaaaa!
then I thought, probably Clean Up is not the solution
    I tried Format All
then a window came out saying "Formatting"
What the! I did it like in the evening and I slept for like 0 hours to check in the morning, but still, it is still not finished.
    What is this?
I also have a problem, my computer doesn't recognize my Zen, and just to double my bad luck I lost my warranty receipt.
Oh my Lord, please help me.

    So -
I have received a message from support, stating that the player most certainly is irreparable - and instructions on how to return it to have it replaced.
It seems to me that the player harddisk is broken/damaged. This may be a result of using it while jogging/running... (in my view) It is dissapointing that the player can't handle this - which of course must be considered a fairly normal usage. I have experienced some skipping earlier, but never thought this would affect the player to such an extent.
Hopefully - this is not a fault that applies to every Zen Micro out there, although your posts may indicate that this may be an issue with several players.
    regards,
    BjOlav

  • Problem with Creative Zen Micro software detecting certain C

    Hi,
I hope someone can help me. I recently purchased a Creative Zen Micro MP3 player. So far, I have very few complaints, apart from the fact that while travelling on the bus, it won't seem to detect any radio stations.
The problem re: the software though is that it will only detect the last track on three of my CD's. None of these CD's are damaged in any way, but all are from the same record label. Anyway, I was wondering if anybody had any tips on how I might be able to transfer these albums onto my player?
    Thanks a lot.

    My zen micro problem:
Brief Problem description :.When I put a battery in the Zen micro, it automaticly turn on andshow "hardware problem" and freezed.2. • Major audio problems with Creative Zen Micro 6Gb... need h

I have had this device for about a year and a half. about a month or 2 ago, there has been problems with the headphone jack. If the base of the headphone cord (all 20 of them i tested) moved, the audio will either go mono-tone, or play a signle layer of the audio file, or no audio at all. although when applying pressure to it, it will play well. I do NOT want to not go hands free just to enjoy my music, so please help me out!
    -Bash

Although a failed power switch is not unknown, I only recall seeing two or three other cases of this. It's not common.
If WMP isn't working with the device having v2 firmware something is wrong. Unfortunately this can be difficult to fix, but take a look here in the Zen FAQ at Nomadness.net.
MediaSource won't detect the player if there's some issue e.g. WMP0 not detecting it. You can of course also try installing Zen Micro Media Explorer (Creative Zen Micro Media Explorer Web Update to be specific) which has MTP support.
Are you are presumably under guarantee, and as you bought from an Internet store, it's best to return it direct to Creative. Contact Creative Support to arrange this.

  • Problem with my Zen Micro's sound j

Okay, I am getting very, VERY sick of all the hassle with this litlte piece of junk.My Zen Micro has had a series of problems and, personally, I just want rid of the little beast. But, unfortunately, I'm not one of those cliche upper-class Canadian kids who can harass their parents into getting them a new one. So, I guess I just want to know if anyone's got any suggestions for me in my predicament. My Zen Micro's headphone jack recently became faulty and, as I have had multiple problems with it, I'm used to this. So I brought it back to the place I got it from and requested, very calmly, for them to ship it out for repairs. And, just my luck, that complany recently got into an argument with Creative and will no longer carry, service, or support their products. WONDERFUL.My warranty is going to be void in a matter of days and I'm very, VERY frustrated. This means they're no longer honouring my warranty, and, to me, that's just NOT COOL. I would like to stress that this is the HEADPHONE JACK AND NOT MY HEADPHONES. And, yes, I'm sure. I believe I was unlucky enough to get one of the ones where it wasn't properly sautered... and I don't know what to do about it. I guess, at this point, seeing as it seems like I'm left without any other options, I'm just gonna crack the thing open and try to fix it myself unless someone can suggest anything more logical. All I'd like from you guys is to know if anyone has had similar experiences or problems and can give me any suggestions or tell me how I might go about repairing it.

Yep, Philazen, that's it exactly. The jack is really sensiti've, and I usually end up in some really obscure position - with the cord of my headphones wrapped around my finger or a piece (or 20) of tape holding the headphone jack in a very specific place - if I want an at all reliable connection. I was told by the people who sold it to me a few months ago (only AFTER I returned my first one) that there were some faulty models of Zen Micros near the very beginning where the sound jack only had 2 pieces of sauter and let go very easily. However, it's also apparently a topic they're very touchy about and deny ever happening, but hey, at this point, I can only assume that's the case for me.Beasts indeed.

  • Problems with my Zen Micro

So I just got my new Zen player for Christmas, have never dropped it, never slammed it against anything, and have never had any problems with it until now. I had charged it on the adapter all night, and this morning I was using it, went though about 5 songs, and at the end of the fifth song it shut off and won't come back on. I tried turning it back on and?resetting it and nothing happened. So when I got home I tried plugging it into my computer or the adapter again to see if it would work and maybe it was the battery that needed to be charged. I tried downloading the Firmware, but it says that my player isn't connected and won't let me download it. So now I'm completely out of ideas and need some help because I need it in the morning for a party.

See the "PC connection problems with your player" section of the FAQ post.
The faceplate was redesigned after the first few months, and this affected the way the light comes through. This might be the difference you're seeing.

Mine is doing the exact same thing. Completely frozen while trying to reload firmware. You boot the thing up and it just sits there with the creai've logo. I have not tried the steps outlined exactly above yet but I am going to give them a shot. Heck I have nothing else to lose. At this point it is already 200 bucks down the drain. Hmm maybe I will go with the Zune form microsoft.

  • HELP ME WITH MY ZEN MICRO PHOTO

I don't know what happened exactly all that I know is the other night my friend was using my Zen and then this morning I went to turn it on and all that it won't start. It will say Creative and then just stay there. I charged it and it just won't do anything. What do I do!!! Please help me... :womansad:

I'm assuming you tried to get it in the rescue mode and reboot it from there? If not, try that. If that doesn't work you may need to reload the firmware or something along those lines. If you can't even get to the rescue mode then the hard dri've in your microphoto may have choked and it's time to return it or have it repaired if it's under warranty. Try contacting creative though first as they may have some other solution for you.
If you don't know how to get to the rescue mode on your microphoto, see the thread up at the top of the first page of the forum called "How do I access Rescue Mode/Recovery Mode on my player?"
