Problem with N79 typing

hey! it hasn't been a month since i got it, but i have a huge problem with my N79. when i type an SMS, it hangs after typing a few characters and all i could do is restart the phone. but once i do restart it and start typing another SMS, it hangs again. it's really irritating! i can't use it to sent texts anymore. the number '2' usually appears before it hangs, even if i'm not pressing on number '2' on the keypad. i tried bringing it to a shop to get it reformatted, but the problem came back after 4 days. i tried reformatting it myself, but it didn't work. help me, please!

rick is right check for the latest firmware if you have not done so already. you can do so by FOTA in your apps or menu (software checker or device manager - tool and utilities section)
or you can go connect your phone via usb and use NSU to search for the latest firmware for your phone.
here are some other things you can do. make sure you back up all your data.
*#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data)
Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list.
*#7370# - Reformat your phone
This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working. Turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button.
re-flash - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen.
If these codes are not working the only thing for you to do is contact your Nokia Care Center/Service.

Problem with N79

Hello ! First, sorry for my poor english. I have a problem with my N79 phone, i have reinstalled the software with Nokia Software Updater and after restarting the phone and message "Reinstalling done" or something like this I saw that font was not the same as before, i do not know how to explain, so I attached three photos

Problem with info typed into third party apps

I could use some help here. Downloaded Tap Note for Touchpad. All lists entered into the app have disappeared. Assumed it was with that particular app. Downloaded Shop Easy Lists....same thing! Everything I entered has disappeared. Takes a day or two to happen.
Can someone please tell me what's going on. I am getting tired of re-typing all this info all the time.

Restarting LSM killed a cache of database associations, and when the app was deleted, it thought there were no more database-using apps so it got rid of the Databases.db file.

They are not necessarly using the same version. I will ask them to get the last one so we will have all the same.
Perhaps that will help. You should also make sure they have the same Arabic fonts on their machines that you used for your file.

No Windows media player sync with N79 via bluetoot...

I've installed the Ovi suite from the N79 package. I'm using vista and windows media player does not recognize my phone. However I have got my phone under the type Portable devices in My computer.
When I connect it using usb cable there are two devices in My computer under Portable devices and the phone is recognized by wmp.
I want to be able to sync songs to the phone wirelessly.
Has anybody else got the same problem with N79?

Could you please confirm what mode you have selected while connecting your device in USB mode? Do you have any mode called media transfer mode, if yes, try to select your device and then try to sync your device with WMP. If you want to connect your device and sync wirelessly, i am afraid you can't do it using Bluetooth but you can do it by Home Media Server, for that you need equipments for setting your Home Media server with your device and you can then sync your device wirelessly.... as far as i can know, you can't do this using bluetooth....

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.

Monitor sensor stopped responding alerts and typing problems with external keyboard.

The past few days I have been getting these alerts. Also, I use my MacBook as a desktop about 60% of the time and like to hook up a full size keyboard. It's worked fine for two years but now I can only type a few words before there is a stall and I can't type anything for 30 seconds. It has happened on both a Kensington keyboard and on a 10-year-old iMac keyboard. They have both worked perfect in the past. Also, both work just fine on an old iBook and on an old iMac slot loader.

But as I said above, "Mr H, with the magic touch, went to the iMac - opened a new text edit doc and started typing - no problem, opened Google - typed into search field - no problem..." which is to say the problem has solved itself by just regrouping itself after all peripherals were detatched and HDs no longer involved? We'll see if it reproduces itself next time I do this HD-HD copy.
I don't know why it's fixed, but since all is well, the permissions are repaired, and I've put it to sleep and awakened it, and it's still running fine (indeed I'm typing on the iMac now), I am loathe to do anything to solve a problem that seems to no longer exist.
If things go awry I will first try a restart or perhaps just shut down from the Apple menu. As I said I was worried about doing this fearing I'd have to log in and not be able to do it - but the auto login setting works to my advantage here.
Anyone else have any ideas on what went wrong???

Problems with typing in mac os lion

just two days ago I had some problems with my MacBook Pro running with Lion, I just went to update my mac os 10.7.3 to 10.7.4 and suddenly it failed to instal
just then I was told to restart my computer. Ater I restarted the computer there was a huge problem, I had a Kernel Panic issues and I realized that my mac OS had crashed. So I clean install my mac using my recovery disk that was given in the box by purchase.

I have tried to turn of the auto correct feature on Text & Languages in system prefrences but it doesnt fix anything.

If it happens in a new user you may be able to repair this with the 10.5.4 Combo Update This is a fuller install, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update so it should overwrite any files that are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have applied it before.
Remember to Verify Disk before update and repair permissions after update from /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.

Bluetooth Problem with my N79

Dear All,
My Nokia N79 is 2 months old now. Since the last two days i have been facing a weird problem with it.
even with my Bluetooth turned on and phone visibility set to Shown to all, My N79 does not get detected by either my PC nor by any other Nokia or Sony Ericsson cellphone.
even when i try to connect to the paired devices i had setup, i get an "unable to connect" error.
Last successful file transfer was done on satrdy, 21st Feb, but since 24th i am facing this problem.
Is there any solution to this....
Is it a Firmware BUG or a Device component Failure...???
Please advice me on the same.

Other reset is the hard reset.
Try the "3 finger deep reset" which is depress these three keys simultaneously "*" "3" "green phone" and then power on phone whilst keeping those same three keys depressed until you hear start-up tone.
This should ONLY be done if the device doesn't power up normally anymore and it wipes everything in the Phone memory that is not part of the ROM. I presume you already have a backup.
If this doesn't do it then problem is probably hardware and the only option then is to head for the Nokia Care Point..

Problem with typing

Hi..
I'm a fairly new user to macs...i have an ibook G4 and recently when i'm typing emails or in a word document, the little carrot/tab will keep randomly shifting around/back so my typing just looks all over the place...is this a virus?

It;s not a virus, just a poorly designed trackpad. Many folks have this problem with the iBook. About the best you can do is to keep your hands a good distance away from the trackpad while typing

To answer the second question first, the owners of the music (and that is not Apple) decide where their music can be sold. If they decide (for whatever reason) not to sell their music in a particular country, they will not let a music retailer (that is Apple this time) sell it in that country. So the "system" is beyond Apple's control.
As for your first post; (if I understand you correctly), the iTunes Store knows that you are in Russia, so using a credit card registered in Vietnam is simply going to look like you're trying to get round the system.
The credit card is tied to an address, and therefore to a country. Simply using a different country's address is not going to work.
By the way, this is a world-wide situation. It's not a matter of having to use a Russian card, whatever card you use has to be registered at an address in Russia.
Use the support link in the iTunes Store to contact Apple and see if you can straighten out whether you can buy songs, where ever you are and with whichever card you have.

Having problem with typing chinese in OS X Lion

After installing OS X Lion, I am having problem with typing traditional chinese in my own account. Everytime I switch to traditional chinese the computer become extremely slow and the finally freezed. However, when I am using visitor account, I can type in traditional chinese without any problem. How should I fix this?

Normally differences like that between main and visitor accounts indicate a bad .plist in Home/Library/Preferences in the main account. I don't know which one might cause this...

Is your problem due to the keyboard or to NeoOffice Characters? You have to change probably the font. Not all fonts are supporting all Unicode sets. Which font you have in your NeoOffice set to write Tamil? Try with Arial Unicode MS for example.
Are the letter e-Ex and ai-Ex right in your posting? If they are right, how you inserted these letters in your posting? By copy and paste or by typing? If by typing, your question is related to NeoOffice. Probably you should reinstall or update NeoOffice? Or switch to OpenOffice?

My search bar in google now turns blue and I can not see what I am typing. Why? I read somewhere it's a problem with Firefox. Is there a fix for this?

I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but one day my Google search bar turned blue when I tried typing in it. I couldn't see what I was typing. I did some research and some forums said it was a problem with Firefox. Have you heard of this? Is there a solution for it?

For me, the google search bar turns blue once I've typed in a search term, but then want to click on it again to change or add something. The entire bar turns blue. I can still type, but it's hidden. Then when I click Search, it does bring up my search results and now the terms I've written are showing in the search bar, with no blue.
The only way to get out of it when the blue is there, is to reload the page.
