Problem with Nokia 7610 supernova

Hi
I bought my Nokia 7610 supernova recently. I am in China. It has the same problem- restoration of original settings- & that too in Chinese. So as per the solution given on one of the forums I downloaded Nokia PC suite & then I tried to update the software. Everything went well till I started the software update. It said fatal error because minimum memory required is 256 MB.And so update cannot take place. I tried to do it again but got the same result. I have at least 350 MB of free space in my phone at the moment. Can u help me with this? I have no idea how to solve this.

Issues nokia 7610 supernova sort text messages

Dear All,
I own a Nokia 7610 supernova ( product code # 0564323 ) and I'm experiencing a weird behavior after restoring its content backup.
I did a full phone backup through Nokia PC Suite 7.1.26.0 before installing the latest firmware available for my mobile - Version 05.20 .
After updating my mobile to firmware version 05.20 then I did a full restore through Nokia PC Suite.
It seems that all my text messages are stored on the mobile; however it appears now sorted by sender.
I mean, all the text messages appear on the mobile sorted by sender instead of arrival date/time.
Therefore, before the upgrade and full restore all my text messages was sorted by date.
Please, Is it possible to change the text messaging sorting criteria?How can I sort my text messages by date again?
What can be this problem root cause?

Unfortunately, there is no such option =/
I´ve tried on those menus:
Messaging -> Inbox -> Options (out side In Box folder)
Messaging -> Inbox -> Options (within In Box folder, on the messages list)
Messaging -> Message Settings ->General Settings
Messaging -> Message Settings ->Text Messages
There is nothing related to sort text messages on those menus listed above =(
PS:I've tried to restore the phone´s firmware and recover from full backup file again with no success. All text messages appears sorted by sender on the mobile, although Its delivered date are correct.
Any clues?

Nokia 7610 Supernova fails to connect to PC

Just got my Nokia 7610 Supernova, but when I try to connect it to a PC via the USB cable, the software will not upload on my computer. I'm getting a message on my PC saying "wrong configuration settings" and another one "click on finish to start a troubleshooting proecess which might help you fix the problem". When I click 'finish', no troubleshooting process is initiated, though. Instead, my PC starts trying to download the software anew and everything happens the exact same way all over again.
In the right-hand bottom corner menu on my PC screen I'm getting a message saying "your new hardware might not work properly".
I tried this on several different PCs at home and at work, and it's the same everywhere.
Can anyone help me?

Did You install PC suite to your computer before connecting? Which mode are you using to connec PC Suite or data transfer? Data transfer shouldn't require drivers but you can get the cable driver just in case. It should be on the disk that came in the box with your phone. If you have installed PC suite make sure it's running when you plug the phone in

Yesterday I purchased the Nokia 7610 Supernova.And if I restart the phone, it goes back to default settings (factory settings).Not only do I have to change the language but I also have to redo my profile settings.
Is there any solution for this ?

yes that is a very good question. I am not too familiar with the supernova's hence my hesitation. usually when a phone needs an update it is the only way to do it unless your phone is capable of FOTA updates, which i am not sure either it is, the fota update is firmware over the air update. i know this is not really helpful, but it sure sounds like you will need to get yourself a cable as i can't imagine that supernova's will not continue to be updated. unless it is capable of FOTA.

Nokia 7610 supernova- radio 'not allowed'

I just got a nokia 7610 supernova, but everytime I try to use either the radio or music player a 'not allowed' message comes up. I'm not sure if the problem is due to the fact that the phone was from hong kong, but I'm using it in the uk. If anyone has any idea how to fix this problem I would be very very grateful. Sorry but my knowledge of phones is very limited. Thanks.

I got the same phone today and spent half hour trying to figure this out. Neither the music player nor the radio would work.
I think you would have figured out the solution by now. Just posting the solution for the benefit of others who would be facing the same issue now. (I see 600+ hits to your question, so this problem is not rare...
THe solution that worked for me is:
1. Switch of the phone
2. Remove the battery
3. Put the batter back
4. Switch on the phone
You will need to plug in the earphone for the radio to work. You can choose "Loudspeaker" in options->settings (while the radio is on) to play radio through the speaker rather than earphone.

Nokia 7610 Supernova - sorting messages

Ive purchased the Nokia 7610 Supernova today and finally managed to transfer 191 messages from my old phone (Nokia E65) to the new phone via the latest PC Suite. It errored at first, but I finally managed to set it over into a new folder.
I was so happy I finally managed Now, a moment later I open the folder and the 191 text messages are in the folder completely randomised! I can't properly read through them anymore (as some of them followed each other up) and I don't have the option to "sort by - date/type etc etc". How can I fix this?
I tried making a second folder and moving the messages over from the previous one 1 by 1 in the correct order, it didn't help. I did about 25 and when I checked if it was done right it was all randomised again.
Please help? These messages mean alot to me.

My Nokia 7610- Supernova screen is broken, need navigation to switch on bluetooth. & im need some assistance on how to switch on the bluetooth as I didn't save my numbers on the sim card! Obviously this will have to be directional pushes on the keypad as I can't see anything on the screen! please help.

Unfortunately this is notoriously difficult to convey and what appears logical to poster inevitably doesn't to the recipient; whereas on S60 devices there is the hope of keyboard shortcut or voice activation defined this option is not available here.

Is there a way that allows Nokia 7610 Supernova (or all other phones with the same firmware) to use ALWAYS CONNECTED email such as Gmail and not to terminate the connection after 10-15 mins........... pls help!

You need to configure the Internet settings on your phone. To define how to use the service, select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Packet data > Packet data conn. and from the following options select Always online so that it will automatically connect to a packet data network when you switch the phone on. This also applies to phone applications that require Internet connection like email.

Problem with Nokia Messaging on my N97 (V22)

Since afew weeks I have a strange problem with Nokia Messaging on my N97.
I receive emails using Nokia Messaging (V10.2.26) with a date shown incorrect as 01.01.0000 and the email then can’t be opened/read.
This happens either on 3G connection as well as WLAN and it seems to be by random, not only HTML-emails or emails with text only.
I have uninstalled Nokia messaging already and reinstalled V10.1.24 but the problem still remains.
Is there any idea how to fix this issue because it is quite annoying and I can’t use the full functionality of my cell phone?

absolutely m8. thats why i gave you a kudos.
the challenge is that NM has been unruly as of late...and believe when i say that i have literally been on the phone teching nokias support up to tier 2 and creating, canceling, trying new acounts with different email, different ways of creating them, with wifi, gprs...and praying for hours accross mutliple phone calls
but to no avail, are the devices we are using connecting and syncing...even with thier n900 specialist which i had to help him! lmao.
another option for a solution is alwayhs welcome as there are more then one way to skin a cat.
i hope it works for him and others as i kno9w thesome that are just giving up on it.

Problem with Nokia Camera and Smart Sequence

Hi,
I'm having a problem with Nokia Camera and the Smart Sequence mode.
Basically, if you take a picture using nokia camera, and view it in your camera roll, it usually says, underneath the pic "open in nokia camera".
Well, if I take a pic using the Smart Sequence mode, it just doesn't say "open in nokia camera" so, to use the functions of smart sequence (best shot, motion focus, etc), I have to open nokia camera, go to settings and tap the "Find photos and videos shot with nokia camera" option.
Does anyone has the same problem? Anybody solved it?
I already tried reinstalling nokia camera, but that didn't help.
I'm running Nokia Black on my 925.

I had the same problem with my 1020. It did get fixed with the last update to Nokia camera.
However, IIRC, it didn't just happen right away. When browsing the camera roll I'm pretty sure that the "open with Nokia camera" text wasn't there.
Slightly disappointed I opened the (Nokia) camera anyway and was going to test the smart sequence again. I noticed the only precious pic I'd taken using this actually appeared top left of the screen.
I opened it and I had all the smart sequence editing options again - that we're missing previous. Made a new picture and saved it.
Now when in camera roll the text shows below the image and all is good.
This probably doesn't help much except that it didn't seem to fix automatically.
I work @Nokia so I can ask around a bit to see if this is a known / common issue (not that I know any developers)

Problems with Nokia Photos (Lifeblog)

I have been using Lifeblog 2.5 on my PC running on Windows XP sp2 for more than 2 years and was very pleased with how this software worked. I regularly used it to transfer both photos and videos from my N80 and N95 to my pc. When Lifeblog was premium software I paid for the full version.
I had a problem with my PC and had to perform a destructive recovery on the C drive of my pc. I then tried to download the Lifeblog program again from Nokia only to be met with a SORRY greeting. So i was able to find the Nokia Photos software which I downloaded and installed. I then imported my Back up files from Lifeblog.
The problem with Nokia Photos is Videos do not play. Only SMS and Photos can be viewed even though I have ticked all the boxes.
I think that Nokia must have some problems with Lifeblog and Nokia Photos. Any help as to how I may be able to get it to work as well as it was before would be greatly appreciated.

When you switch on your device for the first time, the access points may be configured automatically based on the service provider information in your SIM card. Otherwise contact your operator or service provider to receive the access point settings if you cannot find it..

I have meat the problem with Nokia 5530 firmware updating: updating allways finish with the message "Downloading of the variant package failed.Most probably there is non-commercial software in your device."

Nokia Software Updater has tried downloading the software, but this is failed 4 times.
Its posible that it can be caused by a bad, slow or instable internet connection.
This failure can also occur because we have maybe a problem with our servers.
