Problem with P1170 (notebook webcam)

Hi, i will try to describe as detailed as possible the problem:
I have a notebook fujitsu amilo pro V2045,Usb 2.0 (yes, i tried all i describe above in different ports), Windows XP, service pack 2 and all updates .. I use both msn and yahoo messenger, and the problem is no related to the messenger programs, because when the camera works, works fine on both.
I downloaded the lasts drivers for the pd 70 webcam (webcam notebook, old model not the new ultra) ..
First time i installed , on the proper way, everything seems fine.
But after i switch off the computer and power on again (notice here that if i just restart this doesnt happens) , its like drivers are corrupted, "lost" or something similar: no image (yahoo messenger or msn, doesnt matter), or blurred and green image with bad quality ..
So , i try to reinstall drivers: i quit the camera , then i uninstall from the "add/remove programs" ..ok .. but trying to install again results in a "an error ocurred while setting up the driver" .. no matter what i try , it happens ..
Next step was installing directly from the hardware assistant, when ask about location, just pointing to the directory (default C:WcamnNbook) .. this way it works ..
Another workaround its to erase certain files and folders on "Windows" directory (Ctdrvinstall, lastgood (?) folders, even the "creative" inside the "twain32" folder, ctdrins.exe) .. anyway i erase "manually" all related to the webcam ("easy" to know because are the same as the files inside the original folder "C:WcamNbook").. witch makes me think that something is wrong because is "supose" they must be erased when i uninstall .. ok , so this way , i can reinstall the drivers on the "proper" way again , that is, without connecting the camera and just executing the Ctdrvstp in the original "C:WcamNbook" folder and following the instructions without errors ..
BUT .. either one or the other method doesnt fixes the real problem :After power off the computer ( i repite , no restarting), i must reinstall the drivers (yes the green ligth turn on, and everything seems fine till you try to use it) ,and you can imagine that is really annoying , and time wasting .. And yes, i tried almost all combinations (different ports, swithing off the usb option about dont let computer swicth off the usb to save energy, reinstalling after restart the computer, etc.)
Another thing i realise is, when you install the drivers, automatically starts the configuration applet (P70Cfg) to set up the camera, the same you may find after on the control panel/scanners and cameras, but after this first time, when you acces thru the control panel, the configuration applet on the status says "no disponible" (dont know the exact traslation in an english XP but i think its clear), but besides this , the webcam works ok on the messenger programs (msn and yahoo) .. at least before power off the computer of course ..
So , something fails on the uninstalling procces, its not clean at all and dont let me reinstall again in a proper way without some kind of "dirty work" , and second and really important .. i would like a real solution for the weird behaviour of the webcam/drivers , maybe its some tweak on the registry, i prefer this than wait uncertainly to a "possible" update, any help would be appreciated.

I took a look at the specs for that camera on HP's site and see that it supports DVD/VGA quality which is what Adobe Connect (Flash) expects to see. However, I do see that it can output video at "up to 30 frames per second".
Adobe Connect (Flash 9) can only accept DVD quality webcams (640x480) at up to 20 frames per second. Thta setting is controlled by the host of a meeting room in the room preferences.
I suspect the user has not altered their camera settings to be 20 fps. If they are outputting at 30 fps then a black box would happen because it's "too high" for Adobe Connect (Flash).
I see in HP's documentation : "Click the resolution drop-down list below the icons in the upper-right corner, and select the resolution setting to use for the recording. The default setting is VGA, which provides optimum performance in most environments."
While Adobe does not specify, recommend, or test any webcams, we do work with any webcam that the PC/Mac supports at the 640x480 and 20 fps setting.

  • Problem with my notebook

    Hi all!
    I have a problem with my hp mini 311 notebook. When I leave it somewhere, for 3-4 hours, its just get frost. I mean I can't do nothing with it then when I want to use it again. Also when I leave it turned on for the night, in the morning it just doesnt do nothing, I can only switch it off and on then.
    Any 1 got some same problem?

    You need to check in control panel -- Power options and check the settings in that. See what settings you have for standby mode and sleep mode. Change those settings and see if the freezing issue stops.

  • Problem with W530 and WebCam

    I have a ThinkPad W530, which runs a 64-bit version of Windows 7.  The computer is about 3 months old.
    I'm suddenly having problems with the webcam, showing an entirely black display.  No error messages of any sort, and I'm seeing the same results in any of my apps that use a webcam, including Skype, GoToMeeting and VSee.
    How do I find this problem and fix it?

    Responding to three replies simultaneously:
    1) A check of the Imaging Devices section in the Device Manager shows that I have "Camera Plus (VGA Resolution Maximum)" , where it's using a Lenovo Driver (version 1.0.1.1) and dated 6/19/2012.  No entry for "Integrated Camera".
    This one could be part of the problem, a missing driver, although Windows Plug-and-Play isn't detecting that anything is missing.
    2) No change in behavior, if I halt the Camera Mute service.
    3) Drivers are mostly current, unless there's one that's entirely missing.  There's several unrelated drivers that aren't current.  As a rule, I don't update drivers, unless there is a reason to do so -- I have experience with driver updates being disruptive.  It's one thing to update the driver for the webcam, if I'm having problems with the webcam, but I'm not going to update a Bluetooth driver, Just Because, especially if the offered update's severity is less than Critical.
    If Windows isn't auto-detecting Integrated Camera, I don't know if that means that the auto-detect is simply missing that (and that I should try to find that driver and install), or that my hardware isn't using that particular driver.

    I have this problem: when I want to chat with someone in Gmail's Hangouts, there is a terrible sound which make normal talking very irritating and alsmost not possible. It's a sharpe, crispe sound  when I speak .I use Default settings from the Webcam. The Webcam is build into the system. I have Windows 8.1. Tried different settings, but nothing helps.
    Also tried to talk closer to or further away from the build in microphone. Doesn't help not also
    What to do to resolve this?

    Have you tried doing a factory restore? Did you have this issue when you first have the laptop? I understand you wrote that this issue came after 2 weeks? Is there any antivirus software which you have installed? Appreciate if you could try a factory recovery first if you haven't done so.

    At first, i'm sorry for my bad english. Last time i learned it about 20 years ago in school.
    Here is my Problem:
    I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L450-16M. My OS is Windows7 32Bit und my Router is called Easybox 602.
    Everytime i use my Chicony 2.0 USB Webcamin Skype or other Onlineapplications my Wlan shuts off.
    I can't deactivate and activate before i restarted my Computer. I think that i have the newest Driver downloaded
    from this page. I also have recoverd my System with the Recovery CD. Please help me!!!

    Do you still have these problems?
    I dont know which online applications do you mean but if you use webcam with Skype, MSN or similar applications it should work properly and it has nothing to do with any kind of connectivity.
    Preinstalled Web camera Application must not start with operating system and I recommend you to disable it in start-up or exit web camera Application before you start this online application.
    For instance, when you use Skype and start it web cam should be recognized automatically. Check it in Skype video options.

    First thing to try is a reset: Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the power button until you see the Apple, then let go.
    If that doesn't work, you might try getting hold of Yahoo since it's their app that's causing the problem. Try searching on Google for others who've solved it.

Sometimes it connects and other time you get the message of connection error..  Sometimes it connects and works for awhile and then disconnects. First would you check this setting.Go to the Device Manger and click on the network adapter to expand the listRight click on the wireless adapter and choose properties.Click the power management tab.If allow the computer to turn off this device to save power is checked, please remove the check. Something to be mindful of is that the HP notebook work best on a  2.4 GHz network.  If yours' is set to 5.0 GHz you can try changing the setting to either mixed mode or the 2.4 GHz. Here is a link to HP PCs - Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet (Windows 8) with other steps to try. Should the notebook require servicing ( the last step in the document) her is link to contact HP support. Please contact HP support at Contact HP Support   Best of Luck!

    I am helping my client use video with Adobe Connect. She is the only one on our team who cannot make her webcam work when we are an Adobe Connect meeting.
    She has a Thinkpad with Windows. She also has a HP Webcam 2100 that plugs into the USB port as her Thinkpad does not have a built-in webcam. I had her install the latest Adobe Flash player.
    When we are in a meeting, she starts her webcam and clicks share and all we see is a black screen where her video should be. She says that the video camera works with Skype and other video type applications. I have told her to close all apps that might use the video camera while we are using Connect. Still no dice.
    Is there a checklist of things we should do to try to debug this problem?

  • I have a problem with my Notebook Lenovo IdeaPad G770 display

    The colors are too pale..Is there an option to set the contrast of the display? Anyway the colors look terrible..I have installed the Intel X86 and Amd Radeon(for Windows 7 32 bit) drivers that came on the CD-Rom but no effect on screen colors(just on the resolution )..I set the brightness level (5 lines) but still no effect  (but is very disturbing to the eye)....

  • Audio problem with HP Notebook DV7

    Hello:
    I have a 4-year old HP PC laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium on 4GB Ram, 64 bit OS.
    I'm not a Techie person, so please bear with me...   I have been having a LOT of issues with programs like Word or Excel (and now also my IE) that give me a "Not Responding" message and almost shut down at various times.  I completely cleaned my computer about three months ago by restoring it from a restore disc set that was prepared when I bought the laptop, and Best Buy assured me that doing that would restore my computer to "factory fresh" condition.  However, that condition lasted just a few weeks.
    Anyhow:  Last week, I took the advise of a Microsoft Community advisor and cleaned my computer using Malwarebytes and then searched for Driver updates on the HP site and installed them, and my computer is behaving slightly better, but I have cmpletely lost my audio.  I tried to troubleshoot this and the message said that my audio is "Not connected"...
    Any suggestions??  Would GREATLY appreciate some easy-to-follow advise.

    To answer your questions in order:
    1.  Hold down the power button for 30 seconds, release the button and then re-insert the battery - this procedure just dispels any residual charge from the system board which can sometimes affect connected components such as speakers ( or the audio chip ).
    2.  There's nothing in the procedure that will affect your current files.

  • Microphone problem with DV2000 notebook

    Hi,
    The internal microphone on my DV2000 notebook has suddenly stopped working.  I tried troubleshooting but it seems that the hardware has completely vanished. 
    I tried installing a new driver but got a message that there was no audio input device installed, which confirmed that the hardware is no longer there.
    I can't find any solutions to that problem on the HP website.
    I am using Windows XP if that makes any difference.

  • Problem with original Creative Webcam

    Yes i have the original webcam the Pd00 model, and i installed the drivers that i found on this website but they arent allowing me to take pictures with the webcam. it checks to make sure the video is clear it pops up i can see myself fine then it installs and thats it. I lost my original cd for software so i cant install that way, does anyone know what i can do? I need the application software not just the drivers

  • Problems with my notebook after restarting

    Hello, When I recently turned on my notebook I saw that I don't have any of my files. There are though all applications installed by me but no files, even the wallpaper is the one that was originally installed on the PC before I changed it to a personalizedone. I had the same situation twice, but I after I used to reboot it before everything used to go back to norm. Right now I have rebooted the system but it doesn't help. When I am checking the size of the occupied space on hard drive, it tells me that all my files are thre. It seems like the PC is choosing a different path when it is downloading my setting. Could somebody please help me with this? Thank you very much

    all of my files disappeared: docs, music, movies, excel, everything in all folders in all places. Even the desktop wallpaper is the one that was on PC originally when I just bought it and before changing it. It looks like I am working in some kind of safe mode, but safe mode should show all the files. I had this twice before, it was kind of mistake when you just turned on the PC, but when I rebookted it everything went to normal. Now I am rebooting and i am still in this kind of mode where all my created files are disappeared. Thank you for your help
