Problem with page numbering in Acrobat XI Pro

Hello community,
I got a problem with page numbering with certain documents in Acrobat XI Pro.
The next error comes up:

There is an error occured when getting up of page-content.
This is occured with certain pdf-documents (i cannot uploading this file).
Is someone have similar problem, or has someone hev a sollution for this?

This usually means the file is corrupt, probably because it was not created
using a standard application like Adobe Acrobat.

Problem Replacing pages in Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro

I have a 130 page PDF document with hundreds of links, all of which work and display in their proper position on all pages in original document. I have generated new pages to replace most existing pages & I'm having a problem with the links. Both the original 130 page document & the replacement pages are in landscape 11 X 17" format. When executing a Document|Replace pages command, the page is replaced but the links in the original document are rotated 90 degrees clockwise as if the command thinks I'm dealing with a portrait document. See below:
The above image shows the problem. The new page has replaced the original page but the original page links are rotate 90 degrees clockwise as I attempted to show with the crude red arrow. The box I'm pointing to should have remained at the lower left corner of the displayed page. I could, of course, removed the links and started all over but I'm hoping there is a simpler solution. I don't look forward to replacing over 1300 links.

redo all of the links. Did you ever receive an answer on this? I'm so beyond frustrated right now.

ID CC 2014 problem with page numbering book

I have 9 documents in this book, introduction, chapters 1 through 7, and endnotes. I have section numbering selected in all documents. I have the Book Page Numbering Options set to continue from previous document. Also in the Book Page Numbering Options I have "Automatically Update Page & Section Numbers" selected. Each document is based on the same template. The book starts renumbering pages at chapter 2. I can't figure out what is wrong or how to fix it. Could this be a bug in 2014?

I figured it out. Duh. I didn't have Automatic Page Numbering selected in the Numbering and Section Options of that particular file. That's what I like about ID. There's always a reason when things go wrong.

Problem with Pages 09 after latest Snow Leopard Update

I upgraded Snow Leopard with the latest update this afternoon, and now I am having all sorts of problems with Pages. Most importantly, the Pages templates are all messed up, with formatting all screwed up and the typesetting a mess. Has anyone else experienced such problems with Pages after the update? I may have to revert back to pre-update Snow Leopard if this can't be resolved, since I use Pages for my work. Any assistance here would be appreciated!

You can install the combo over the delta (Software Update version). I did after I inadvertently used Software Update on my MacBook Pro. That's what I get for trying to update 3 Macs at one time.

Export problems with pages/ save as word document results in corrupted text

This may be a new problem with Pages as I have not seen this happen with previous versions but, when I export a page made with a template, it ends up with merge problems - headers end up at the foot and invisible text regarding merge showing. When saved, a error box opens saying that merge fields are not save or similar, and I end up with a non friendly .doc file.

All scanners output one thing only -- an image, a picture of the stuff on the paper that was scanned.
There is not "text". There is a picture of text characters.
This image / picture can be brought into a PDF. What is in the PDF is still an image / picture of text.
Open the PDF with Acrobat. Use Acrobat's OCR feature.
If you desire to touchup some characters use the "ClearScan" OCR.
(Review Acrobat's Help to resolve any questions on this.)
Note that PDF is not a word processor file format and does not tolerate word processor like "editing".
Use Acrobat to do touchups to characters and short character strings. Save As often.

How do i get free keynote, pages, numbers for my Macbook Pro 15inch?

Hi i would like to check whether i am able to get any free keynote, pages, numbers on my Macbook Pro 15inch. I bought my macbook on 25th Nov 12. My version is updated to OS X Maverick.

For software discs, there are two cases:
a) came with 10.6. In this case order the replacement DVD from Apple.
b) came with 10.7. In this case there may be no replacement discs. Start up with Command-R and install 10.7 from the Internet.
This varies slightly depending on EXACTLY which model you have.

Problem with Pages on the iPad 2.

Hi all,
I have been having a strange problem with Pages on the iPad that I hope someone can find a solution for.
As a writer, I find that Pages on the iPad is a very good solution to my problem of needing something small and light to transport around, whilst still allowing me to do some serious writing. I use the Apple 3 battery bluetooth keyboard, and this gives me a superb working solution.
I started using the iPad 2 to do my second book and for the first 40,000 words everything was fine. But as I started going back and forth with the cursor keys, editing passages in the book, I noticed that the cursor position did not match up with the I beam cursor on screen. As it transitioned between pages it would loose it's corresponding position and the entry point for new text could be up to six characters in either direction.
Now this is not a problem if you enter a new page, as there is nothing beyond it, but in the majority of cases it is a major problem when going back over your work and editing it. I have to manually reset the start position of every new page so as to garantee the typing will go where I want it to.
Now I thought at first this was something to do with Bluetooth keyboard, but after using the onscreen keyboard and the find and replace function, I have noticed that it loses it's position in the document in a similar way. I have included a screen shot of it finding a problem I was searching for. In this case it is ", and" to be replaced with "and," or "and". Clearly in the image you can see that it is not happy and is not selecting the right things, if I replace it will replace exactly what is selected.
Has anyone else seen this problem. It seems to happen with large or small documents and I think that this is a fundamental problem with Pages on the iPad. Seeing as I can't get Apple to acknowledge this I brought it here for everyone else to check out. If we get enough voices on this, then we can make change happen.

That's right Br Abdullah, I'm finding the same problem with my itune Arabic library that I synced to iBooks version 1.5! As you say the pages are not arranged correctly.
The other problem that I'm finding is that the highlights & notes that i have made on the books on a previous version of ibooks, when synced with ibooks version 1.5, they are scattered everywhere, and sometimes in areas where there are no texts.
I left a message on the report a bug section of iBooks on the app store, and I contacted them on their feedback of apple product issues. I don't know what else we can do. It seems that no one is listening to us. I'm Dissapointed that I upgraded my iBooks version to 1.5; I was really looking forward to reading on my new iPhone 4S (on iBooks)!
What else can we do to get our concerns heared? Somebody? Anybody?

Application Express 3.1 + BI-Publisher + problem with formating numbers

I use the Oracle BI Publisher Template Builder for Word (10.1.3.4) to generate RTF-Templates. I upload these templates in Oracle Apex (Advanced support-->BI-Publisher/OC4J as print service).
It works well, but I have a problem with formating numbers.
In Template Builder I define following number formats, for example: #.##0 for numbers like 1.454.234 and #.##0,00 for numbers like 54,80
In Template-Builder Preview it looks well.
But whatever I do, in use with Oracle Apex dots and comma are allready interchances in the printout.
That means,
1.454.234 become 1,454,234 in PDF-Report
54,80 become 54.80 in PDF-Report
Other than that, the layout is exactly the same like in Template Builder defined.
What's wrong?
Do I have to change any country parameter?

I also had the same problem. I tried with normal formating of 99g99g999d99 instead of ##,##,##0.00 and it has resulted correct way.

I have a brand new hp officejet 6700 premium e-all-in-one printer but my macbook pro is not detecting the printer to even install it or make a print can some one tell me if it is a problem with the printer or the macbook pro?

no not at all..it was just tested if it was being detected on a windows os..it did..i am doubting either it is a problem with the router or the macbook pro....but earlier it did connect well to a hp officejet pro 8600 e-all-in-one printer over a different network(at someone else's house)...

How do I make a custom page size in Acrobat X pro?

I downloaded a gigantic trial version of Acrobat X pro to create a full PDF book cover. I was
unable to figure out how to make the program do anything at all. The help file and forums did
not give me the information I needed. Eventually I was able to use 4 other programs in
combination to create a .doc version of the cover but now I need to turn it into a PDF.
Can somebody please tell me how to, or how to find out how to, create a custom page size in
Acrobat X Pro and import a Word document into that page size.
Alternatively perhaps someone could tell me where I can download an earlier, hopefully more
usable, version of Acrobat.

As you have discovered, Acrobat is not a creation or editing tool. It is a program to create a final archive of a document from another application that is readable on most platforms. There have been several tools added to Acrobat to provide more functionality for forms and such, but it was never intended for the creation process.
Now that you have created your cover in WORD, an appropriate place to create it, you would simply print the page to the Adobe PDF printer. You should change the printer in WORD before the conversion and check the page to be sure that it is still what you wanted. This check is needed for versions prior to OFFICE 2007 that used printer metrics by default. Since OFFICE 2007, printer metrics have been turned off by default.
If the page does not come out correctly (like is 8.5X11 letter or an A-4 page), then enter the printer properties before printing and set a custom page size there to match your WORD document. I assume the WORD document has the desired size. The printer property change is like putting the correct paper in the printer before printing. Sometimes it seems to sense the application setting, and yet at other times is seems to need to be set.

Applications should not disappear all by themselves.
If they are then that coud indicate serious problems with your hard drive.
Backup everything up as quickly as possible.
Using Disk Utility verify your system disk.

Thanks, Ian. Yeah, that's how I do it now...or with the controls in the left side pane. Still, I would have liked that quick on-the-spot edit capability...especially while sketching.

Pages is crashing for some reason.
You say that other documents open with no problems, do you mean other Pages documents or documents in another app?
Try closing Pages completely in the recents tray and reboot your iPad. See if that helps. If it doesn't help, you may have to delete and reinstall Pages. If that doesn't work, you might have a corrupt document that you need to track down and delete.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
