Problem with paper margins

Hello,
In my PLD i have set the Paper as A4 and the bottom margin as 1 (whats the unit? / pix i guess), but still the bottom margin on my page is 2 inches while printing. my paper is getting wasted. Please suggest a solution.

Hi Rohanp,
Try this,
->> Open the Requrie Document PLD or Report PLD.
->> Select the Page Footer and Select the All fields including Hidden Fields in Page Footer.
->> Delete All fields in Page Footer and Reduce the Height of Page Footer.
->> Goto Properties Window and Reduce the Height. Ex. Height = 20 (or) 30 and Assign the Upper 1 in Border Tab.
->> Create the Formula Fields for Page No.,  B1 Notice and Continous on Next Page Print.
SAVE IT and See the Print Preview.
Regards,
Madhan.

  • LASERJET P2015-PROBLEMS WITH PAPER FEED

We have a HP LaserJet P2015 in the office.  When the paper reaches the halfway point, the printer makes a horrible sound and will not feed the paper.  Anybody have any suggestion?

So, I cranked up my old PowerBook G4 (OS 10.4.11) which has the older driver for the P2015dn and the problem remains.
I have made some progress: If I want to print with paper feed from Tray 1, I pull Tray 2 out a few inches, load the paper in Tray 1, start the print job, and the yellow Attention LED flashes indicating an error. Note that the Paper Out light does NOT come on. So I press the Go button, the Attention LED goes out, and the print job completes using the forms in Tray 1 as desired.
So I'm thinking now, What Error condition? and why does clearing it make it print?
Certainly seems like a hardware problem to me as this is NOT the way the printer is supposed to work as documenetd in the User Guide.

  • Problem with Printer Margins

I am working from a Dell Optiplex 755 with Windows XP, Illustrator CS2, Acrobat 8 Pro and an HP 4345 printer.
The problem is summarized in the below paragraphed points:
We print on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper, with artwork sized for 8.5 x 11 exactly. The artwork contains 4 quarter page images to be cut into flyers, which each have 1/4" margins all the way around them. There is a back side as well, created with the same specifications. We wish to print these flyers duplex from high quality PDF files that we created in Illustrator.
When the print comes out, the right hand margin of the sheet is larger than the top, bottom, and left margins.
The top, bottom, left margins= 0.166"; this doesn't effect the top, bottom, and left sides of the artwork, as the .25" margin we setup on the artwork is greater than the .166" margin of the print area.
However, the right hand margin= 0.306"; this means that the right side of the artwork gets cut off by .056" (.306-.25")
In order to fit all of the artwork on the page, we can either shift the Page Tiling Print Area over slightly, or we can select the print option "Shrink to Fit". However this is a problem because we are printing the two sides as a duplex (printed both sides), and the tiled artwork on the front won't line up what is printed on the back because of the larger right margin. Therefore if the sides don't line up when we go to cut, the information is going to be cut off on the opposite side to the one we are cutting.
The printer setting for 8.5x11" paper "Letter" is what we believe to be creating the offset margin. (We checked the specifications for a Letter print, and the standard margins were identical to the ones we see exhibited in the print outs, 0.166" vs. 0.306")
We understand that there might be a way to set up your own custom print setting through Adobe Acrobat/ Photoshop/ Illustrator for a specfic type of print job, allowing you to control the print margins, but we are not familiar with the process.
Can you think of any other possible causes and/or solutions for the problems that are described?

As is detailed above, I am working with Illustrator CS2. The graphic is setup on an 8.5x11" artboard with guides set to have a 1/4" margin on all sides.
To create the PDF file, I just do a Save As>Adobe PDF through Illustrator. So to answer your question, no, I do not have Adobe PDF selected as the printer. I have the HP 4345 printer selected and set to 'Letter' for printing on 8.5x11" page.

  • Problems with changing margins in pdf

I am new to creating Adobe forms.  We are a law firm and uses ProLaw case management software.  I am starting to create Adobe fillable forms to be imported into ProLaw as fillable forms.  The problem I am having is I cannot change margins in the Adobe form.  I went to Print and Page Setup, but the area to change margins is grayed out, no matter what paper size I choose.
Is there a setting our IT people need to change in order for me to be able to change margins in the Adobe document?
    Thank you for any help.
    Karen Fonseca

    Hi Michael,
Thanks so much for your reply.  I feel like a fish out of water.  I have gone to the crop tool, and it says to click and select area and then double click to crop.
My document's left margin is now 1" and I need it at .5.  My right margin is fine at .5.   By cropping the "space" on the left, it will reduce the margin?
    Thanks again,
    Karen

when I "save as pdf postscript" my 8.5 by 8.5 pages doc, it shrinks and ends up right justified in the PDFX1A 2001 version...this only happens with this particular file--all I can think is that I used a lot of text wrapping around graphs and that messed it up, please help!

nevermind! I figured out the problem--I needed to click on "view" and check "hide comments", which were being included in the PDF, making it smalled on the left side of the page

  • Problems with document margins..

    Hi,
I want to change margins for my document that I'm working on. I've clicked on Layout --> Margins & columns and the change was succesfull but I can't see the margins.. Why is that? I wanna be able to see them and if possible also be able to snap to them because in my document there are several A4 pages with just 1 image that shall have a 10 mm white boarder around it and I don't want to measure every single image.....

Wajt color is thabackground around the page? If it's gray rather than white you are in Preview mode and you need to switch back to normal layout mode. If you're already in normal mode, you've probably hidden guides, and you can show them again from the View menu.

  • Hardware problem with paper roll

SOLVED. It is normal that right paper roll is sometimes up. When it transports the paper it automaticly goes down.
It concerns the HP Photosmart 7520
I had a paper jam and try to fix it. I made a stupid error to push the right paper roll up. Of course I tried to push it down, but I have so much resistance that I am afraid to destroy something wenn I put the paper roll down.
Do you know if it is possible to put it down anyway or have I to disassemble the printer? It is only three weeks old.

If the problem is within the terms of the warranty, i.e. it's a manufacturing fault, certainly.

  • Problems with the margin in then top of the page when using subtemplates

    Hi,
I have a main template (made by Word) where i have in the header section the following statement
    <?choose:?><?when:R_LANG='EN'?> <?call-template:otsikko_EN?> <?end when?><?otherwise:?>
    <?call-template:otsikko_FISE?> <?end otherwise?><?end choose?>
it works but it makes a different margin in the top of the page depending on which template is called.
Can anyone help me to solve this problem?
    BR
    Tiina

When you call subtemplate, it will replace and do what sub-template has to do.
    OPTION 1:
if its showing diff margin for diff sub-template, then make sure, all sub template have same margin and should look alike in the content and frame.
    OPTION 2:
if you think there is extra line then use the follwoing to avoid it.
    <?call-template@inlines:TEMPLATE_NAME?>

  • Problems with paper color

I've have an HP CP6015x for a bout 3 months and it has always run almost perfectly until today .  Today I tried printing on a teal colored cardstock from the bypass(tray 1) and the printer errored out.  It pulls the paper 90% of the way in and the gives a clearing paper path message and then a paper jam message.  I cleared it and cleaned everything I could get to and it still jams.  I tried running the same exact paper (same weight, smoothness, size, etc.) but in other colors (pink, blue, green, yellow) and in prints fine.  I tried printing printing from a different batch of the same paper thinking that particular batch was smoother or heaver than it should be and it still errored out.  I tried setting the tray up as different paper types (photo matte, cardstock, colored, plain, etc.) and it still doesn't work.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Do the paper sensors in the the printer not like the teal color? Is there a fix?  I really need to be able to print on this color/type of paper as several of my companies publications use it.  Any help would be appreciated.

I've noticed this occasionally as well.  I always test in FF, IE, Safari, and Google Chrome on the PC and FF and Safari on the Mac. If it looks good there, it's good.  To get around these differences I usually bring my graphic into Dreamweaver then eyedropper the color from the graphic to set the CSS color, this has proven to be the most reliable method.

  • Problem with a product image/pdf production in Indesign CS5

    Hi,
this problem probably has an obvious solution, but I can't figure it out due to my limited experience in using Indesign. I'm trying to export my poster lay-out as pdf, but one of the several product images does not show up in the exporte pdf correctly. Instead of a product image, I only get this white image that is similar to the shape of the product image, but the actual product image is not visible. The product image is a .psd -file and it shows correctly in InDesign document, but not in the exported .pdf file. Could somebody help me to tackle this problem?
    BR,
    Masa

    Hi,
    - It shows in the preview mode
    - I'm using only one layer in the layout with all the images on it
    - The image is not non-printing in the Attributes panel
    - Links have no errors and theya re up to date
When I create the PDF via FILE > PRINT, then the problem does not occur, but I have another problem with white margins on both top and bottom of the .pdf-file. ¨
I still would like to create the pdf via Export.
Thank you for your quick  reply, what's next?

    Can any one help me.
    Thanks,

    Hi Vishnu,
Above you have the following commands:
    set line spacing 6 LPI
    \e\0x32
    set page length 86 lines
    \e\0x43\0x46
    46 HEX = 70
So the above settings mean 70 lines at 6 LPI = 11.66 inches.
So is the paper length 11.66 inches? If not, you should adjust the settings accordingly.

    Aidan
