Problem with patch 122795-21

I'm in test, I upgraded messaging server from 120230-25 to 120230-28 (ok) now I'm upgrading uwc from 122795-19 to 122795-21 but when I do
rpm -F sun-uwc-6.3-8.01.i386.rpm
I have these errors:

  • Problems with patch 10.2.0.3 installation

    Hi all,
I´m trying to apply the patch set 10.2.0.3. I've stoped all services, but during the installation,
a file msvcr71.dll may be in use.
What file is this? What other service can I stop to continue?
    thanks!!!

Is this XP? There's a known problem with locked DLLs (by generic Windows process svchost.exe) during patch installation. Unfortunately other locked files could follow. Therefore try the following workaround:
    1) Rename $ORACLE_HOME\bin to something else
    2) Reboot the machine
    3) Rename the directory back
    4) Install the patchset again

    Hi,
I tried the latest SAPCAR version also and also tried to download the new one from SAP but still facing the same error.
The following are the error details :
1.When I try to uncar this file using SAPCAR from command line it gives an error cann't decompress file.
2.When I try to decompress this file from sap logon through SAP front End and give the car path ,It decompress the file and when I try to import it ,It give an error in DISSASSEMBLE Phase and throw an error give below
The import was stopped, since an error occurred during the phase
DISASSEMBLE, which the Support Package Manager is unable to resolve
         without your input.
After you have corrected the cause of the error, continue with the
import by choosing Support Package -> Import queue from the initial
screen of the Support Package Manager.
The following details help you to analyze the problem:
             -   Error in phase: DISASSEMBLE
             -   Reason for error: PATCH_FILE_ERROR
             -   Return code:   9
             -   Error message: OCS Package: SAPKB70012
         Notes on phase DISASSEMBLE
In this phase the data files are disassembled from their corresponding
EPS packages and stored in the data subdirectory of the SAP transport
directory (usually: /usr/sap/trans/data). The cofiles are generated from
the respective data files and stored in the cofiles directory (usually:
/usr/sap/trans/cofiles). This phase can terminate due to the following
         reasons:
o   CANNOT_CREATE_COFILE: The cofile could not be generated from the
corresponding data file. Possible causes of error:
             -   Data file is not available or was not disassembled. Check the
settings (choose Extras -> Settings) to see whether the option
for disassembling data files is activated.
             -   User <sid>adm does not have write authorization for the
                 directory /usr/sap/trans/cofiles.
o   CANNOT_DETERMINE_EPS_PARCEL: The EPS parcel is not in the EPS inbox.
It may have been deleted. You must download the corresponding
             Support Package again.
o   CANNOT_DETERMINE_DATA_FILES: The name of a data file could not be
determined, since a profile parameter was not configured properly.
Check the settings using the report "RSPARAM".
o   CANNOT_DISASSEMBLE_R_DATA_FILE: An R3trans data file could not be
             disassembled. Possible causes of error:
             -   The EPS package could not be found.
             -   The data file could not be opened for writing.
             -   An error occurred when transmitting a 20K block from the EPS
inbox to the data directory (generally: /usr/sap/trans/data).
o   CANNOT_DISASSEMBLE_D_DATA_FILE: An ADO data file could not be
disassembled. The reasons are the same as for
             CANNOT_DISASSEMBLE_R_DATA_FILE.
    Please help.

  • Problems with Patch 7.0.3 for PSE 7.0

I'm still using PSE 7.0. Secunia PSI told me, that the .exe file is unsecure and I should apply the patch mentioned above. I did so and afterwards the system told me the program is uptodate. So did PSE 7.0 when I looked for updates. But still Secunia PSI is marking the file as unsecure.
I posted the problem in the Secunia Forum and they tried to solve the problem. They asked me to send them a file with the version number 7.0.3 At the moment they get the version number out of the file "ems.dll". But I can't find any file in the installation folder with that version number. All version-numbers I can see are 7.0.0. or totally different.
The guys at the Secunia Forum have no further ideas and suggested to bring the problem to you.....
My system is running with Windows XP with all security-patches.
    Here I am!
    Thanks, Runkelruebe

If the copy of PSE you are running is in Non Membership mode, then there will be no change in ems.dll. If only you are using the membership services then the .dll will get updated.
In the former case, only the security vulnerability issue of one of the services will be fixed and the only place the fix will be recorded is inside the registry editor where the PSE version will change from 7.0 to 7.0.0.3 at following hive:
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{CB6075.....}\
I am not aware of Secunia is performing the check.

  • Problem with patch 6656317 installation

    Hello,
I am trying to install patch 6656317 on Windows Vista. This patch will upgrade the Oracle Application Server Metadata Repository Creation Assistant to 10.1.2.0.3.
When I run setup from b:\disk1, I have the following error "Invalid staging area. There are no top component for Windows NT, Windows 2000 available for installation in this staging area."
    Any clue why ?
    Thanks for your help.
    François

    Hello,
    Thanks for your answer.
But my problem, don't seem to be that.
My staging area is b:\disk\stage. I also have a products.xml in this directory that don't seem to be corrupted.
Theses files were unzip with winzip.
I already installed many Oracle component (database, iAS 10g, Developer Suite, etc.) and never had that kind of problem.
    Any other suggestion.
    Thanks again.

which OC are you working on and which excel version?

  • Looking for a site that shows problems with windows patches or updates.

Looking for a site that shows problems with windows patches or updates...so I know what not to install.
Plenty of sites list and summarize individual patches, I want one that consolidates problems and complaints so I can better assess the risk. Currently I'm waiting to install patches several days and doing google searches. That works, but I'd rather find a place
    that does it with expertise.
Which forums would be best to look for such problems.
Thanks in and advance for suggestions

    Hi,
I agreed with Cyber and Rick.
Windows update helps to keep your PC safer—and your software current—by fetching the latest security and feature updates from Microsoft via the Internet.
Although there might be some problems when installing it, Windows update is not the one to blame.

  • Problem with 10.2.0.5 patch on Windows 2008 Server R2 64bit

    Hello
    I have HP server with Windows 2008 Server R2 64bit. I installed
latest 64-bit version of Oracle Database 10.2.0.4 and everything works fine and later installed the patch 10.2.0.5 (64 bits) as the Oracle maintains that with the R2 version of the system it is necessary to correct work.
Now, after uploading the patch database starts and closes
after about 15 minutes and my alert log file is changed to the binary version which do not see anything (means that after patch installation (10.2.0.5) the alert log file isn't normal text file and it looks like that:
Źýţ cśy iµ•eű .Ź ťy ťy Ř®y hčN)
You can read only the beginning and it's very large - 13 Mb after unpacking from ZIP.
Can anyone met with this configuration and knows how to solve
    problem?
This is the link to my strange alert log file:

I attached my spfile.ora file too:

Your alertlog is corrupted, it could be something about a virus or even a problem with disk drives. Have you scanned your server with anti-virus software? Have you scanned the disks?

It's best to post this in a SQL Server forum. ConfigMgr is simply a delivery mechanism for the patch and really has nothing to do with what the patch actually does.

My experience with Win98 is that it is not a very stable system, regardless of software used. For example, Win2000 and XP are far more stable than 98. I've had it crash on its own if I leave the computer on for several days.
I wouldn't recommend running programs for long time (few days) on this OS.
This being said, can you be more specific in your question. What kind of stability problems did you have, which VIs did you run (if possible post them here), did you change the interrupts and priority levels on those VI, do you get error messages or blue screen....

  • Problem with a patch for Creative Media Explorer for Ze

Has anyone had any problems with their PC (rebooting itself after install and getting a blue screen) when downloading and installing the update for Creative Media Explorer for Zen M to fix the album art problem for WMP?I downloaded this update per a response I got to thread here:http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ssage.id=79299?I downloaded the patch to update Creative Media Explorer. I was going to upgrade WMP to after that?but my PC got stuck at the startup screen during boot up. The hard dri've light indicator was on solid also. I thought maybe the dri've had died since I have had it for quite some time now. I took the dri've out and put it in an external enclosure I have that connects via USB. I was able to get into BIOS and set the boot order to boot from a USB dri've. When it started to boot up, it looked as if it was going to come up but it didn't. I seen a flash of a blue screen and the PC rebooted itself. I'm wondering if the update is causing the OS to hose up on start up. That's why I'm just wondering if anyone has downloaded this update with any problems. The update can be found here: http://us.creative.com/support/downl...ype=3&x=40&y=7. It is number 5. I'm currently defraging my dri've and I am somehow going to try and repair the OS if I can and uninstall Media Explorer and reinstall. Oh one other thing, it will not boot into safe mode either.

I downloaded the patch and installed it on my PC and everything worked like a charm, and right after that my music started showing Album Art.However, I still didn't replace the new firmware on my Zen Vision M (.6) and I wonder if I should, since everything seems to work wonderfully well at this point?

  • New MS patch problems with Apache & SSL on NetWare web serve

This week our users began to experience problems accessing our Intranet based on a NetWare 6.5 box running Apache and using a Verisign SSL certificate. IE would say it was connecting but you would never get there. Firefox could get to the server but I had similar problems with Safari & Chrome.
I discovered that the MS security patch KB980436 had modified some portion of IE and was causing the problem. Uninstalling that patch put us back to where we could once again access our Intranet.
This seems to have something to do with how IE accesses using the SSL 443 port. When, internally, I accessed this same site using http instead of https it worked perfectly.
This patch was applied to Win XP and Win 7 with the same bad results.
If there is a more appropriate place for this post please move it there.

Have you tried the registry settings to go back to compatible mode? The
settings are listed in the MS KB article.

I tried to install Photoshop. I got pretty far but then the installing stopped and bright orange letters popped up saying Installation Failed or something similar to that. I clicked on the Learn More link next to the message.
It said  there was a problem with one of the patches, so it failed to install. It told me to re-try in a few minutes.
A few minutes later, I re-tried it and now it says Update Failed  - Learn More. I kept re-trying and it ends up doing the same thing over and over.
It told me to contact customer support.
    ..so here I am.
    How do I fix this?
    Thanks

Benh89930539 I would recommend reviewing the installation log files for update which is failing to apply.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC.
