Problem with playing audiodata using JMF
Hallo,
it's me again. :)
After succeeding in displaying a video, i wanted to play audio data.
I inserted some audio files into my database and set there properties. I declared a stored procedure too, which gives me the content and mimetyp of a special ORDAudio object. After I added this procedure to ordjmf.properties. It looks like this now:
user=scott
password=tiger
url=jdbc:oracle:oci:@TestDB
getVideoByID=getvideo_by_id
getSoundByID=getsound_by_id
When now I try to open the url "im://retrieval/getSoundByID/1" in JMStudio, I get the following error:
"Unable to handle format: mpeglayer3, 44100.0 Hz, 16-bit, Stereo, LittleEndian,
Signed, 20000.0 frame rate, FrameSize=32768 bits
Failed to realize: com.sun.media.PlaybackEngine@2452e8
Error: Unable to realize com.sun.media.PlaybackEngine@2452e8
Failed to realize: input media not supported: mpeglayer3 audio"
If I try to play the original file itself, it works fine.
In JMF Registry I already added "oracle.ord" at both sides in tab packages.
Do you have any idea where's the problem?
Thanks, Christian
This is the information we got from Sun whane we reported the problem....
Perhaps this is why they don't diustribute JMF 2.1 any more. Because they can't?
"MP3 support was pulled out of JMF in 2.1.1b. This was due to licensing issues. The only reason it works for you using a file protocol is because we enabled a way to use the DirectShow MP3 decoder on Windows for local file playback.
We hope to be able to provide MP3 support again soon for the different platforms."

Problem with Transmitting media using JMF
Hello Everyone !!
I am working on an application called SIPSpeaker which listens for incoming calls, answer the call and plays a message. I am done with the first two parts of the application, i.e. it can successfully answers the call. I am now facing problem with transmitting audio to the SIP Phone (the caller). I am using JMF and I am trying to send the audio over RTP.
My code looks something like this....
locator = new MediaLocator("rtp://130.237.214.124:" + port + "/audio");
f = new File("C:/1.wav");
try {
ds = Manager.createDataSource(f.toURL());
} catch (NoDataSourceException ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
} catch (MalformedURLException ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
} catch (IOException ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
format = new Format[]{new AudioFormat(AudioFormat.GSM_RTP,8000,8,1)};
contentDesc = new ContentDescriptor(ContentDescriptor.RAW_RTP);
processor = Manager.createProcessor(ds);
waitForState(processor,Processor.Configured);
processor.setContentDescriptor(contentDesc);
processor.getTrackControls()[0].setFormat(format[0]);
waitForState(processor,Processor.Realized);
try {
sink = Manager.createDataSink(processor.getDataOutput(),locator);
System.out.println("6");
} catch (NotRealizedError ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
} catch (NoDataSinkException ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
processor.start();
try {
sink.open();
sink.start();
} catch (SecurityException ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
} catch (IOException ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
we are required to work with a .wav file as input ....
i am new to java and to JMF and i have absolutely no idea whats going wrong...

==================
Boy, you are not kidding, I was running both the cloud and CS6, and I was ready to throw in the towel.
I have changed computer's twice now, have a solid state hd, (which I love) with 10 terabytes on externals, I run NOTHING except adobe's stuff on my HD now, and only one version of it, and it runs like a dream.
So, I updated the OS to win 8.1, updated my peripherals,
I dumped CS6 (hated to, but for some reason my 3D won't work on it, it works fine with the cloud) but in CS6 the software was turning it off after adobe's last update.
I've made a virtual machine for my development environments which do not play well with adobe's stuff.
My rule of thumb has always been double what the manufacturer states is required for RAM, but imho, with my current upgrades: upgraded to win8.1, and other peripherals, spent two weeks changing stuff over and it's about 100 times better than trying to run CC and CS6. - No kidding, the change is astronomical
But for anything PC I'm way over powered, and for Adobe, I'm still underpowered.
Next, I'll just get a mac for Adobe, and stick with my pc's for ms/CentOS. Too, it seems like since the cloud was initiated Adobe is rolling out the updates faster and changes without warning. The processor/3D issue, I had no warning on it, just woke up one day and "no more 3d" :S
But I do love the cloud, so, guess there's got to be some dark lining to it. <g> -
Problems with playing songs in iTunes
as the subject says. I have som problems with playing songs. not everyone just a some..
If we take for example that a song is 8min. then at 1.40 it just stops and goes to the next one. I can jump over it with pressing in the middle for example. it plays. as normal. UNTIL. 3 mins. then the same problems appear. I don't really understand how. just between 1.40-1.50 iTunes thinks that the song is finished. I know my english isn't so good but cuz there is no swedish support. I have to write here. any answers would be goodI'm having a similar problem.
Every now and then, a track from a ripped CD or from iTunes or from eMusic will "look" OK in iTunes (or on my iPod), but when the track plays, it gets partially through and it jumps to the next track in the playlist.
For example, if playback of track 1 pauses and jumps to track 2 at 1:30 into playback of track 1, & I click on 1:31 or later in track 1, the rest of track 1 will play fine. But if the playback of track 1 starts at the before the "skip point," the track will stop & iTunes (or iPod) goes on to the next track in the playlist. If I locate the file (on my external drive) and play it in the finder, there's always buzzing sound at the point where the iTunes jumps to the next track.
For ripped CD's this is not a huge deal, I just re-rip & usually all is well. With eMusic, I can download again, but with iTunes, I have to file a complaint & so far they've just credited my account, which is OK, but time consuming.
At first I thought the problem was with my optical drive, but then the problem started happening with downloads from iTunes and eMusic as well. NONE of these shenanigans happened before I upgraded to iTunes 7.6, so I'm wondering if that's where the problem is. One thing's for sure: I'm not going to "jump" at the next upgrade of iTunes!
I'm totally stumped & bummed. iTunes used to be a really good friend, now I find myself wondering if I should bother with putting my entire CD collection on iTunes if it's no longer as reliable as it used to be. -
When attempting to use Lightroom external editor program to edit a photo in Photoshop Elements 10, the photo does not open / appear on photoshop elements screen. I don't have any problem with this when using Photoshop Elements 6 or Photoshop CS. I'm using a Mac with Mountain Lion OS. Any solutions?
Adobe now hides the editor - what looks like it is not - you want the editor hidden in the support folder - see http://forums.adobe.com/message/3955558#3955558 for details

Problem with SDO_relate when using polygons with holes.
I'm having a problem with sdo_relate. I'm trying to extract all elements from a point table (bdtq_batim_p) that are inside a specific polygon from another table (SDA_MUNIC_SS). The spatial index for both table have been rebuilt and the data from both table is valid.
When I do a count on the query, I know the answer should be 1422 elements (Counted in ArcGIS). However, sdo_relate gives a smaller number of elements in the result set.
The query :
SELECT count(distinct t.identifiant) FROM bdtq_batim_p t, SDA_MUNIC_SS s WHERE s.mus_co_geo = '48015' and sdo_relate( t.SHAPE,s.SHAPE,'mask=anyinteract querytype=window') = 'TRUE'
returns 282 elements. The query with mask=inside, SDO_Anyinteract() and SDO_inside() all give the same result.
I did a test with the following query and the result is 1422 (which is the good result).
SELECT count(distinct t.identifiant) FROM bdtq_batim_p t, SDA_MUNIC_SS s WHERE s.mus_co_geo = '48015' and SDO_WITHIN_DISTANCE( t.SHAPE,s.SHAPE,'distance=0') = 'TRUE';
It's important to note that the polygone (from SDA_MUNIC_SS) that is used for this query have holes in it. I have the same problem with all the polygons from the SDA_MUNIC_SS table that have holes in it. For the polygon without holes, the results are the same for the 2 queries.
My question are :
Why are the result from the two queries different? A query with a buffer of 0 should always return the same result as a query with Anyinteract.
Is there a known problem with SDO_RELATE when using a polygon with holes in it?
Do you have any idea how to solve my problem.Since i don't have much control on the version of Oracle and Patches that we use in the system, we used a workaround that detects the polygons with holes and uses the SDO_WITHIN_DISTANCE( t.SHAPE,s.SHAPE,'distance=0') = 'TRUE' operator in those case. We saw a slight decline in performance but it now returns the right results. When the system will be patched, we'll come back to the original version and see if the problem is solved.

Is there a problem with Apple Mail using IMAP
Is there a problem with Apple Mail using IMAP? Having a problem syncing to our mail server: doesn't sync properly when multiple devices use same mail acct. Spoken w/ mail hosting provider who says Apple Mail doesn't follow IMAP protocol properly leaving Apple Mail users to experience a variety of problems when connecting to IMAP accounts. Among them:
- Improper syncing
- Proliferation of drafts during composition of an email.
- Connections on the mail host do not close automatically and proliferate over time until the host rejects further connection requests.
Hosting provider goes on to suggest turning off IDLE command. In my experience turning this feature off did not improve the situation. In fact, it created a few.
Question: Is the hosting provider correct in faulting Apple Mail?
Been fielding the question with a number of people. I'm aware of three people who are experiencing similar problems, each using different mail hosts. Tech reps at inmotionhosting.com and nexcess.com point the finger at a Apple Mail, along with an IT specialist in Los Angeles, CA, and a tech support rep at an Apple Store in Arizona who said that Apple and Google mail are aware of and coordinating to resolve the problem.

CS 4 Dynamic Link to Encore doesn't work most of the time. Encore stops operating after opening and periodically Premier Pro stops working. I'm told that there has been a problem with CS4 when using Dynamic Link to go to Encore and build CD's. Is there a way around this? Is there a patch to correct it?
To build CD's???
What problem does Encore have with DL?
If DL is not working properly for you the way around this is to export from Premiere to either mpeg2-dvd for DVD or BluRay H.264 for BD-disks and import the files in Encore. -

I can get itunes to start if I disable Bonjour or if I "repair" it first. Sometimes I can repair Bonjour though add/remove programs, sometimes it will only "repair" using WinRar. Sometimes I have to "repair" Bonjour 2 or 3 times to get iTunes to start.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling at least a dozen times. I have tried redownloading iTunes at least 5 times and from different links. This leads me to believe that the dnssd.dll file is not itself corrupt, but this newest version is causing a conflict with XP somewhere somehow.
Team, iTunes 10.2.2.12 has just been released. I installed it and checked, and BonJour's been updated to version 2.0.5.0, and there's a new 2.0.5.0 version of dnssd.dll on my system. So I reckon it's worth a try updating to that to see if it's of any help with your trouble. -
Problem with "play to device" on windows media player
Hello, I'm having a problem with the play to device feature of windows media player. I am trying to use it to play music files to my T.V. It works fine if i try to play a single file or a small number of files (50 or so), but if I try to play
my entire playlist (346 songs, if it matters)in this way or a large number of random songs, nothing happens. No error messages or freezes either, it's as if i never clicked play. I thought this might be a limitation with the t.v. or my network
(im doing this via wi-fi) but when i tried this using windows explorer instead of windows media player it worked just fine, and this was with all the music on my computer which is about 3000 songs. Therefore, i know this is a problem with windows media
player and not my t.v., network or computer. This is a problem because i don't want to play all my music, just my playlist. Short of making a separate folder with duplicate files in it for each and every playlist i want to play in this manner(which
is not only time consuming and tedious but takes up space on my hard drive) how do i remove this limitation or otherwise get around it? Thanks!
P.S. Out of curiosity, why does this limitation exist and what causes it?when i tried this using windows explorer instead of windows media player it worked just fine, and this was with all the music on my computer which is about 3000 songs.
Hi,
According to your description,you said that you used windows explorer.Did you share 3000 songs with your TV?
If so,I think this method is different with "play to" feature.
Also,we haven't found any limitation with Windows media player.

Samsung Fascinate, problems with playing music via USB port on car stereo
Before the update, I could play the music files on my Fascinate via the USB port on my Kenwood stereo, and control basic functions such as skip, pause etc. Now, my stereo does not recognize the device, and cannot read the files. I went to local Verizon store where a sales rep tried to connect it in here new Kia Soul and it didn't recognize the device either. It will play via the AUX jack, but I lose player control and the phone does not charge via the AUX cable. She did a hard reset which did not resolve the problem. We tried one of the other employee's Fascinate in my car, which did not work either.
So, after hoping to be able to stream music via Pandora, Jango etc thru the USB port after the update, now it seems its primary function is for charging.
Also, the ALL SHARE function, which I used to get the music on my phone originally, does not work now.
Anyone else have this issue with music player and USB connection?txgopher- I have personally never used my Fascinate to listen to music via USB via stereo however, I can see why it would be frustrating for you to no longer be able to do so when it was never an issue prior to the update.
It sounds as though you and the store rep already did some troubleshooting by trying to duplicate the problem with another car, stereo and even doing the final troubleshooting step which is a master reset.
Since you have done all of the necessary troubleshooting steps to no avail, it most definitely appears as though the software update has interfered with that USB connection in some way.
What I have done is forwarded the information you have provided to Samsung in order for them to look into this concern as well as come up with a way to get this resolved.
Please stay tuned because as soon as we hear back from Samsung we will be sure to update this forum with the results/findings. -
Problems with Flash output using Safari
Hi All,
does anyone know the solution to getting the flash output to work with safari? The project plays properly on Firefox and Chrome. On safari, my custom menus come up just the same as on the DVD version of the project, but the flash videos do not play - just a grey screen. Interestingly, the duration of the clips is set correctly in the player, it just doesn't start the video. The flash files play correctly when loaded directly into Adobe flash player, so I am assuming there is a compatibility issue with the generated XML files or index.html. The code inside the index.html seems very old and refereences macromedia.com and a windows .CAB file. I have shortened the file names and eliminated any offending characters (all are in the form "Chapter_1").
Anyway, this is stopping me delivering a project on USB stick for a client - seems to be a common issue when searching the web, but no solutions. Any assistance or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I have the full CC (2014), but still have Encore CS6 installed for DVD production.
Regards,
MarkI read the thread you mentioned and all others relating to this issue - seems to be a number of people having the same issue over the last 3 years, but none have posted a successful conclusion. I did see the post about strange characters in file names causing issues in the XML - I did also look at this and change all my content file names to innocuous "Chapter_X" & etc. The paths to the "Sources" directory are all relative and the project works correctly on Chrome and Firefox. Just safari is not working. Agree, it could be permissions, but I have checked all security settings and the Abobe Flash player (with is called up by the script to display the videos in the browser) is specifically permitted to "Allow Always" in the security settings. I can't help thinking there is a problem with the generated XML that safari is not behaving correctly - it wouldnt be the first time that Apple doest things using their interpretation of a standard.
However, after all that, the generated code from Encore doesn't result in a working local project that I can send to a client and expect to work.
